Lovely garden to sit in . Rather slow service and when the coffee arrived half of it was in the saucer . Waitrose told me she would bring me a new one which turned out to be a new saucer not a coffee. Good coffee but rather cold . Won’t be adding to my good places for coffee

Dropped in to see Clare Haggas at her studio and decided to have a cup of tea and a cake at Knead. Extensive range of very nice cakes and savory items all well presented and great quality, with a friendly team running the cafe/bakery it makes your visit very pleasant. Clearly gets v busy at times, but well worth the wait! The Jesse Smith Butcher also on site has excellent meat, for those who wish to avoid supermarket fodder. The Elkstone campus is a pleasant visit and Knead adds to that experience.

Spotted the studios whil out on my bike and thought ... why not. Lovely coffee and one of the best Danish I have ever tasted. Not cheap, but for the friendly service and food quality well worth it with a choice of outside, marquee or indoor barn seating.

Lovely bakery and cafe. We stumbled across this bakery on our half term travels and are big fans. We took family back with us for brunch the following day and my daughter was fussy with how she wanted her breakfast. Staff remade her dish and were incredibly understanding and kind to us, ensuring breakfast was as needed and she ate every bite! Only wish we lived closer as we would definitely be regulars!

We called here on our way to a few days in the Cotswolds. We looked at the price of the cakes to eat in on on average a small cake was about £4 for a muffin, then you had to eat it outside in a large tent! The small filled rolls were £7.15 each! We had a hot drink each, well ill say hot it was a luke warm cup of chocolate not even hot chocolate. Sadly rarely ill leave a bad review but on this occasion have no other option. Save your money folks there's a Greggs and Subway another mile further on where you can sit in the warm and pay half that for a piping hot chocolate and a filled roll. Shame but there you go.

A decent hot chocolate and a sweet man behind the counter, but the individual chocolates are not made on site and are overpriced.

A lovely tea shop on the High St. I sat outside the front on the limited pavement seating. The staff were lovely and the food well presented. The pasty was though expensive and there was no wow factor. The ice bun was heavy and sticky. The coffee was delicious. Would return but not spend so much.

Nearly broke my tooth on a cherry stone in the bakewell slice, very expensive compared to other local tea rooms and staff looked scruffy.

Stayed at Lower Mill Estate for three nights at the beginning of January, preempted a Sunday roast and booked for four adults and two children on Sunday afternoon at 14:00. Seated early which was great but a long time between ordering and actually receiving our meals. In the interim we were advised that they had run out of chicken breasts for the Sunday lunch, albeit disappointing but cannot be helped. I did not catch the waiters name but he offered us some complimentary olives which were gladly received. Four roast dinners arrived at the table and two children’s meals, all ok except the beef was inedible. One served as rare but I was unable to cut it even after asking for a second opinion from my husband, it was mostly fat. The second asked to be cooked well done was just a burnt end again completely inedible. The waiter did ask if everything was ok with the food but by the time we received it we were past the point of wanting an alternative if it was offered. Following this we waited for fifteen to twenty minutes to have a gin and tonic and a pint of lager in a near empty restaurant so we gave up before we were given the chance to ask for dessert. An okay experience by all accounts but the time waiting and the meal offered for the price made us question whether we will return. We may have been unlucky but just left a dampener on an otherwise lovely stay here.

Best tea place I have ever visited, all the people are great, best customer service and they excel at making a positive and vibrant atmosphere while incorporating humour through out place. Food is great with great scones and cake, and tea.
