La Boheme in Warrington

A fabulous menu, amazingly engaging staff and a lovely buzzing, but homely atmosphere. The main surprise was the value for money, the quality, the extra touches and the whole event far outweighs the bill at the end.

La Boheme is great, no complaints. Food perfect, service with a smile, free parking, no tip pestering, can't fault it. Remember if you're going over Warburton Bridge, it is now £1, go the other way.

You can't go wrong here, food is gorgeous, staff are great, I am also slightly biased as I do work here. But hey, you can see for yourself 😁

Cannot recommend enough. Attentive yet non intrusive service, food absolutely bursting with flavour and creativity, felt spoilt for choice. Incredibly welcoming and not overly noisy despite a full house during our visit. Very much looking forward to returning. Thank you to all the staff, front and back of house. i went to La Boheme with my mum and brother on New Year's Eve, our meals were outstanding as usual. Our service from the lovely waitress was first class - nothing was too much trouble for her and she looked after my mum really well too, even bringing an extra cushion for the chair. We have been coming to this restaurant for many years and have never had a bad experience and this was no different , thank you for a lovely evening

Delightful food. Great service. Can be noisy if your near a celebration table. Not expensive. Would definitely visit again. Lovely.

My husband and I had a fabulous pre Christmas lunch today at this superb restaurant. We have been many times and it is always excellent and today was no exception. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked and presented from an interesting and varied menu. The interaction of the staff was a delight to see and Becky our waitrose today set the tone with her beaming smile and delightful manner. A perfect experience. B & B

Strong appeal to the golden years. Average age was high 70s to low 80s. Food was fine. I’ll be back in about 45 years maybe.

Had the risotto and scotch egg starter, chicken supreme main and the 5 desert selection on friday lunch menu. All were excellent especially the great option to select 5 of the deserts. Will definitely return soon.

We went here for my birthday meal yesterday; it was our second visit and it was even better than the last! The food is gorgeous, I had the scallops, venison and the Bakewell tart and all three were 10/10! The service is also fab with the wait staff being very attentive.

Amazing restaurant. Menu choice is huge, each dish sounded lovely, and everyone was more than impressed with what they ordered, meal sizes were spot on, still full the next morning! Service was super friendly and incredibly quick. Can't recommend this place high enough, just remember you'll have to book it way in advance!!

visited la boheme on numerous occasions. the food is out of this world. all freshly cooked by chefs that take pride in what they do. the waiting staff are professional and friendly. look forward to our next visit. thanks

Mostly good but with some significant mistakes. We were a table of six but two of our starters came out 10 minutes after the other four. Then I had duck as my main course but the fat had not been rendered properly and the skin was not crispy, the celeriac fondant was burnt on the bottom. The small cake that came as a complement at the end was also burnt. Our service was, I thought, slow…there were tables who came in after us who had finished and gone before our desserts came out. This is a bit of a list which is a shame because I liked the restaurant and the rest of the food was very good.

Have wanted to come here for some time, having read all the 5* reviews. It exceeded my high expectations! Staff were lovely, and service was excellent. Food was superb. Considering the quality of what we had, I thought prices were very reasonable. We spent a lot of our visit planning a return visit.

Thoroughly enjoyable lunch, not the cheapest however making a choice was difficult as every starter and main option on the menu sounded good which is very rarely the case and there were numerous dishes.

One of those restaurants which has so many good options on the menu that it’s hard to decide! Great French restaurant - been a couple of times - service and food is always on point. This is a little suburban gem -which I would have never known about when I lived in town. But let’s keep it that way!

Came with family for Sunday lunch and all meals were incredible. All staff were very welcoming and found us a lovely table with enough room around us for baby’s pram. Service was impeccable! The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and casually upmarket. I cannot recommend highly enough and we intend to visit here regularly! Also portion sizes were much bigger than we expected for a French restaurant - please try it you won’t be disappointed!

As usual service and food excellent. We have eaten here many times, and it's always been very good. It's so busy on Sunday you really need to book weeks ahead.

Family meal for our 45th wedding anniversary. Our thanks to everyone at La Boheme for the ‘whole’ experience. Everything was exceptional and the whole team made our day simply the best. Food was superb and staff were helpful and attentive to our large party with young children.

This feels like a nice family run business, so you get personal service instead of the usual cookie cutter / chain restaurant approach. The food is made from fresh and you can tell, great ingredients. I would go again, although it is difficult to justify the cost in these times.

Staff were lovely, very professional and helpful but down to earth and chatty. Food and service were excellent, highly recommend for a fabulous night out.

2nd to none and has been for 20+ years. A quality French food experience at very reasonable prices. Consistency in its quality of service, from when you arrive to when you leave, is its secret.

We used to go to this restaurant regularly in our younger days. Recently we have started again,and now go about once every two months. Gradually working our way through the menu, which consists of a wide range of French- inspired dishes. Not had a bad meal yet, and tnepricexa quite reasonable when compared to other places of a similar standard.

We now visit La Boheme every month and continue to be amazed by the quality of the food and last night was no exception. Friendly reception and excellent attentive service add to the experience. I cannot recommend La Boheme highly enough. Next visit and Christmas Eve already booked.

First time here and thought it was wonderful. The menu is extensive and the food quality is superb. The staff were so friendly, and it is a testament to how good this restaurant is that on a Wednesday Lunch time it was full. It was my birthday and they bought me a shoe bun with ice cream on a plate wishing me happy birthday. We shall be back as there are few restaurants like this left

It's hard to find decent French food these days even in France so I was looking forward to this place and it didn't disappoint. Friday lunchtime and the place was packed with mainly retired looking people. Like us! There is a set menu but you can mix and match with the a la carte and everything sounded appetising. I went for frogs legs to start as I haven't been able to find them for donkey's years. They were good but not as good as I remember my last lot. My wife had the goat's cheese salad. It was deep fried and melty and served with beetroot. I tasted it and it was good but mild. For mains we both went for the confit de canard. This was moist and also good but not as tasty as I have had nor as tasty as what I cook at home. It was served with an unnecessary and slightly weird sweet green peppercorn sauce, a mushroom and pea fricasse and some very garlicky dauphinoise. Plenty of good looking desserts too but I decided to try the lemon tart which is a good benchmark. It was disappointingly poor. Rather than being crisp and buttery, the pastry was a gooey mess and not really pastry at all. The lemon was not very lemony and too liquid. It was topped with Italian meringue also not really necessary, and a raspberry sorbet. I talked my wife into having the tarte tatin which I tasted. It was certainly better than the lemon tart but nothing to write home about. What a shame to end on such a low note. Oh well. Coffee was very good so I had two cups and the service was impeccable. I'd come back but stick to a British pudding.

This restaurant is absolutely fantastic, service is impeccable, staff are extremely polite, professional and friendly. Very accommodating. The food is simply exquisite, every dish is an experience to remember. We visit often for the evening service which may average £40-50pp however, we have tried several times the lunchtime menu which averages £30-40, both including drinks and dessert.

Excellent as always great scallops to start cooked perfectly followed by a delicious ribeye steak accompanied by a pint of Boddingtons.

My wife and I and our two friends went for dinner on Saturday 22nd. @ 1830hrs. Restaurant is beautiful.Food is amazing and staff are so attentive , polite and efficient. One of the best places we have eaten and believe me, we have eaten at some beauties. Highly recommended

I always think that La Boheme is the gold standard for eating out in my area. We have not been for three years. Would it be as good as usual? Answer: yes. An amuse bouche before the meal was delightful. We (my wife and I) had a trio of pork belly and other ingredients which was excellent. Then, a sorbet (nice touch), next the main course. My wife had lamb with Parmesan and a jus and Duchesse potatoes, I had Guinea fowl with complementary ingredients. We were asked how everything was. My wife pointed out that my mash was not hot (the plates were warm but not hot. I was okay with it albeit it did knock off a few points. I was alone in ordering ice cream in a brandy snap basket. Our waiter said that it was complimentary. I was about to protest but accepted the offer. Altogether, La Boheme retains its position as No I in the Manchester area. Super night.

We’ve been eating here since it was “The bollin “ in the 90’s. It was excellent then and when Olivier and his wife took it over many years ago it went to another level altogether . The food is out of this world, not fanciful nonsense ( we’ve eaten at many Michelin establishments l’enclume, grosvenor brasserie , Heathcote manor) , but La Boheme is always the best for taste and quality of ingredients itsat least equal to l’enclume which is supposed to be the best in the UK for food quality . Never had anything that wasn’t just fantastic! The staff are always exceptional, don’t know how they train them but they are always wonderful, they could teach a lot of others how to run a restaurant. The value and prices are unbelievable for what you get, I can never eat deserts these days but La boheme is always the exception, the crepes Suzette are the best . I don’t know how they provide such fantastic food for such a good price , but I hope they continue for a long time !!! Beautiful french cuisine with a varied menu and delicious flavours. Each course was incredibly well balanced and tasted delicious. We even received a palate cleanser and snacks at the bar, both of which were delicious. I'd highly recommend a visit.

Myself and my partner had a meal here for our anniversary We took advantage of the early bird deal, set price of £30 for 2 courses. It was absolutely delicious. My only criticism would be that there isn't much for vegetarians. 1 starter was listed as Veggie and I couldn't see any Veggie mains. Lots of fish and meat options though. The canapés they did offer a Veggie option after we asked for it. Definitely will be returning here

Fantastic food at a reasonable price

Last night’s visit was a disaster from start to finish. We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. We first came here 20 years ago to celebrate our first anniversary. I booked the same table we had had then, table 25. A lovely table in the quieter part of the restaurant. On arrival we were without any explanation shown to a different table in the larger room. When I mentioned this was not what I had booked, I was assured that there was no reference to any table request written next to my booking. So straight away our enthusiasm and expectations were dashed, Not a good start. The food was disappointing with the exception of the venison which was beautifully cooked albeit accompanied by a selection of vegetables which whist being nice individually did not collectively complement the venison. The room grew louder in volume as party groups came in, nothing wrong with that and that is why I had booked table 25. We decided to leave even though we would have had desserts, coffee and a brandy as we couldn’t even hear ourselves think never mind talk. Our romantic evening was lost. We were offered to sit in the empty bar area, But now the moment had been lost. I had the pleasure of talking to two lovely ladies about our experience. Guess what they checked their booking diary and there was my name with table 25 written next to it. I made this booking in February and was assured that we would definitely have that table. I did discover the reason why we didn’t get our chosen table was because the room had been given over to a party, so we got pushed out. They had my phone number somebody should have called to tell me what was happening and offer an explanation and an alternative date. I paid the bill in full, no offer of a reduction was offered. I would have given a 1 star review but the venison was nice. 20 years we’ve been coming here. But never again. If you don’t care about me, why should we return. Non Merci.

Excellent meal in nice surroundings and good service

Delicious. Every element of every dish was absolutely perfect. Nothing pretentious, just really tasty food beautifully presented. A perfect dining experience and worth every penny.

Absolutely amazing food and wonderful staff.

This was probably the best meal out I’ve ever had. Every course was delicious, with appetisers and pallet cleansers before and in between courses, a nice touch. The service was seamless and I am already thinking about my next visit.

We recently discovered this gem and have been twice in 6 weeks. Having previously lived in Lyon, we can vouch for the authenticity of the cuisine.

Quiet atmosphere but food is 5*

Fantastic. Loads of vegan and vegetarian options. Super attentive service. Spectacular food. Really good night. Never felt rushed. Quality all round.

Excellent and inventive french fusion restaurant. Quite a find in this lovely town. Everything about the meals was exceptional and presentation superb. All tastes from the fresh bread, the two amuse bouche, starters, sorbet palate cleanser! and mains and desserts... wow!

Need to book well in advance for weekends. Very nice hors d'oevres with drinks but cocktails limited. Ate in pleasant surrounds with good atmosphere. First 2 courses good without being exceptional, scallops followed by a fish dish for myself. A French desert special, bread and butter pudding, was a big disappointment such that I could not eat it and so stodgy as to be inedible in my view. Overall a pleasant family evening slightly let down by food given the reputation held by this restaurant.

This place never disappoints. I've been coming here for years, the food is always excellent and not over priced for the quality.

Nice cosy atmosphere,the blonde haired lady who greeted us was very warm and welcoming and the other staff were also very nice but that lady in particular deserves a mention. Food was wonderful King Scallops were so good I could have eaten another serving,Dutch pancake pleasant and a nice flavour. Venison cooked well with lovely sauce and the venison suet filled portion was one of the nicest things i've had in a while,A recommended lamb in puff pastry was tasty my other half said. Finished with coffee with delicious chocolates and Treacle Tart and ice cream which was nice and not too sweet. Canapes are a nice touch to get you in the mood for your main courses. Will be back again to try the items on the menu we didn't have.

Met up with a friend for a catch-up after a break of over 12 months for a lunch between Xmas and New Year. The restaurant was busy and buzzing, an excellent festive atmosphere. Beautifully decorated for the season. The tables where beatuifully set out with crisp white table cloths, gleaming silver cutlery and polished glasses (a rarity these days). The restaurant presents an extensive menu and wine list. The meal and the wine was everything we expected and superbly presented, nothing disappointed. A special mention to all the staff, they worked their socks off. In spite of being so busy the service was excellent and always attentive. Thank you for a marvellous time.

Quality of food amazing, second to none.

Wonderful restaurant! The food and service is to a very high standard. Our group of five went between Xmas and New Year and we chose the early bird Friday set menu but the choice was huge and varied, every one of our meals was delicious and beautifully presented. I could not find one fault and look forward to another visit when I am next back in the UK.
