Amazing food, really nice atmosphere and great staff.

We were there today 28th January for the first time, beautiful food and great service, wasn't a lot of atmosphere but only cause there wasn't many in Tuesday afternoon. We will certainly return felt very welcoming.

Great food and service . Shame you have to vacate the premises by 2pm . We’d booked for 12.30 so don’t know how it would work out if you booked for later . The waiter brought his coat out at 2pm ready to go home so we felt obliged to knock back our wine . Lacking atmosphere as there was only one other couple in and then we were on our own ! But the strict 2hour schedule will no doubt put people off going for lunch .. you certainly can’t linger !! Shame ….we went up the road to Cafe13 for coffee and liqueurs!

My dinner at La Casetta was phenomenal. I had the Cozze, spicy red sauce with mussels. The pasta and sauce were perfect and the mussels were the best I’ve had in years. Plentiful and fresh! While a huge serving I followed this with a Milano pizza. If you like a hint of blue cheese this is the pie for you. Service was warm and friendly and service was very quick. If only I live closer, I would come every weekend!

Real Italian taste, nice, good value for money

We visited on a Friday evening, it was busy so from sitting down to taking order was a while but food came quick and was lovely- big portions too. The people serving were always busy - each had their role and were good at it. It was our first visit, and it won't be our last - lovely food and at an excellent price 😋

Managed to get a table without a reservation, which was lucky as the place was busy. Had a good meal here with the steak cooked as requested which doesn’t happen too often. Only disappointment was that the side vegetables were steamed and would have been better if they were roasted since they were on the bland mushy side. Will definitely come back again at least when in the area.

After a long walk from Whitley Bay to the Castle in Tynemouth, returning very late I found this Italian restaurant. I arrived 25 minutes before they closed but they helped me. The place is very cozy, the man who serves is very friendly as is the girl who works there. I ordered seafood paste, it didn't take long and it was exquisite, excellent presentation and very good service. The prices are very good. I will return for sure.

The choice and quality of food was amazing, and the prices were phenomenal, particularly during the lunchtime hours and 17:00 to 18:30 there are great deals to be had. So good we visited two nights out of our 3 night stay in the Whitley Bay area. As for the Sicilian lemon cake.....omg, the best desert ever!

Refused to allow me to change my dish (requested no chips or pitta bread) only to be told "no substitutions!" so 2 plates of food went into the bin. What a waste. Rest of our party of six meals were average at best. Not recommended

So, we recently tried out this little Italian, and let me tell you, it was great. The service? Absolutely fantastic! The staff made us feel like we were part of the family, and they were on top of everything without being overbearing. Now, the food – It was really good. The chicken was cooked just right, and the sauces were like a flavor explosion in my mouth. You could taste the effort they put into making it authentic. But what I loved the most was the vibe. It felt like you stepped into someone's cozy Italian kitchen. It's not one of those fancy places where you feel out of place; it's more like you're hanging out with family. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making the whole experience feel like a big Italian hug. Good value for money and a nice change from Davanti and Sambuca's.

A lovely warm welcome as usual on a cold Wednesday in January. Pizza, pasta and a bottle of red...all perfect...highly recommended .

Excellent Italian restaurant serving much more than the stereotypical “Italian”. I had a risotto which was great. The house white was affordable and very drinkable. The layout of tables gives it a more cosy feeling than you’d expect. The service was attentive but not overbearing. Slightly off the beaten track but definitely worth walking down the Esplanade to get to it.

Lovely little place. How Whitley Bay has changed! Great value too. The pizza was standard but the service was ace quick and prompt. The desserts were awesome though! The salted caramel was top notch! Cash preferred because of card charges… but they take card. Thank you for a nice experience, fully kitted out for christmas vibes 🎄🤶🧑‍🎄🍕🍕🍝

Lovely meal this evening. They squeezed us in without a reservation & with 10 minutes to spare, they were happy to serve us from the happy hour menu. Selected Pizza's & pastas for £7.99. Very tasty. I was able to see into the kitchen watching the chef work with precision & total focus on the jobs in hand. We will definitely be back👍👏😋😊

Had a lunch at la casetta yesterday and wow I can actually say the food was the nicest I've ever eating I had surf and turf the steak was melt in your mouth and the sauce was incredible.We had a booking off 10 people and the service was brilliant carnt wait to go back 😁

Probably the best folded Calzone Pizza I've ever had. All the various Portions were fantastic and we all struggled after our fab starters of Potato Skins or Garlic Breads.

I have a nut allergy and the starter I had of Italian meats did not state that it had a pesto dressing on and the gluten free option did not mention on website you had to request this at time of booking

Had a lush meal with family here, everything was cooked to perfection and in a party of 6 with grandparents, parents and kids there was ample choice for everyone!

Just been for a family meal for my Birthday, absolutely gorgeous. Staff are very friendly and standards are always high never had any complaints whether its a happy hour meal or going off the main menu. Service very good.

Weren't keen on the garlic mushrooms, they seemed to be boiled.

Value for money 100%. Beautiful gem in Whitely Bay. Had a cosy, low-key celebration with friends. This is our go to restaurant every time we are visiting the area.

We went tonight for tea. And both had Kleftico and it was absolutely beautiful. Would definitely recommend this place , loved it.

Lovely food and very helpful staff

Visited here for dinner at the weekend whilst on a trip here. Staff were all so friendly and although it was busy the food was great and you can’t complain for the prices. We had our dog with us and we were allowed to dine outside with him which was great.

This hidden gem serves very good portions of fresh, tasty food at reasonable prices. Happy hour and lunch menus at amazing prices too and quality is second to none . We have been regulars here for years now and as always we will definitely be back 👍🏻

Well worth a visit. The food is very good, the table service provided by all members of staff is attentive & friendly. Overall, a lovely atmosphere & experience.

Booked ahead of trip to Whitley Bay. Pleased we did as all tables were occupied. Clean. Attractive decor. Excellent service. Had one of the best fillet steaks I've ever eaten. Steak, sauce, salad (or chips) for just shy of £20. Amazing value. My husband raved about the cheesecake. Had we stayed in the area for longer we would definitely go again. Can't put tip on credit card when you pay the bill - which I found odd - so take cash for that. Totally recommend 👌

So many amazing things to say about La Casseta. Great atmosphere and perfect place for a birthday celebration. Happy hour prices on certain meals are a great idea for families and groups 🇮🇹🇬🇷

Not the best pizza if you want something authentically Italian. Base was doughy without any outer crispness. Too much sauce. Staff not welcoming at first, but became friendly and helpful. Better elsewhere.

Friday night meal here was really good. Food was cooked to your liking and perfect. Good atmosphere and very reasonable prices too. Some very good specials on the menu too. Why aye pet.

Amazing food great value for money

La Casetta is my favourite restaurant in Whitley Bay - it's nice and cosy inside, the staff are friendly and the quality of the food surpasses the money you pay for it. It's a regular place for me to take friends when they come to visit and I can't recommend it enough :)
