La Rokka in Wakefield

Had works Christmas meal here. The food was good and the service was very good. Had the seafood pasta which was anmazing and hallumi for a starter with two glasses of house red wine.

Our first visit to La Rokka was a great experience. Although we live locally, we often find ourselves heading to Leeds or Harrogate for nights out. However, having heard great things about La Rokka, we were excited to finally try it for ourselves. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by a friendly young staff member who politely showed us to our table. Three of us were eating, but we had a short wait for our friend to arrive. We took our time perusing the menu while ordering two delicious cosmopolitans to pass the time. Upon our friend's arrival, she ordered the same cocktail. As it had been a while since we’d seen each other, we had plenty to chat about, and our waitress was incredibly accommodating, giving us space and time without any sense of rushing. When we were ready to order, we chose the bruschetta to start, which was fresh and flavourful. For our mains, two of us opted for the ribeye with chunky chips, and the other went for the penne pollo. All the dishes were cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. The ribeye was juicy and the chips were crunchy and satisfying. The wine list was thoughtfully chosen to include excellent and affordable options, which we also appreciated. It was not excessively extensive. When the bill came, we were pleasantly surprised at how affordable it was compared to similar meals in Leeds, likely because the drinks were reasonably priced. Overall, we were highly impressed with the quality, service, and value at La Rokka, and our only regret was not having visited sooner. Before leaving, we made another reservation for lunch with a group of seven at the end of the month. We can’t wait to return and share this little gem with more family and friends!

Today was are first visit, from the greating to end was fantastic, food beautifully presented and tasty , best meal we have had in quite a while , the gentleman that took are orders was lovely even opened the door for me as I struggle walking thanks guys 5stars x Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5

We had garlic mushrooms and tsatziki to start, both delicious, with king prawn linguine, chicken in mushroom sauce, and a calzone for mains. All very good. Prices are reasonable, and the service is excellent

Really impressed with tonight's meal. After my daughter and wife came in the week and had great service, and enjoyed their meal, we tried again tonight as a group of 4 Very please to say, we have also had a great experience, the service, food flavour and value exceeded expectations. Great value for 4 mains, a side and a couple of bottles of wine, all under £110

First time we have visited this restaurant, I don't think we will be in a rush to go back. The food was good. Where do I start on service, drinks came as we waited for all our family to arrive. We had booked the table weeks prior. The young waitress came to take our order, I think it would be appropriate for the manager to get the staff some customer service training. Our Order was taken (no thank you your food won't be long). After the starters, the mains appeared, the food was good , as we continued to eat, the waitress came round and start to clear glasses without asking if we would like another, and to add insult to injury the waitress put her finger in a drink that was not even finished with and didn't even offer to get a fresh one. To say you feel like you are being rushed is an understatement. To say it was a Friday evening it was not a full restaurant. I feel it was a disappointing evening. Staff really need training and put a smile on their face or change their job.

The environment is very nice. The food is excellent. I recommend it to everyone. This place satisfies my food pleasure.

Food was not great , we only like to goto restaurants that serve all food from scratch this definitely was not from scratch, my partners meatball starter was from a packet (in fact the next day we purchased some pre-packed meatballs from a corner store for a £1 to judge and they tasted exactly the same as those from la rokka )with passata sauce on . I had risotto which was tasteless and bland , We will not be returning which is disappointing for us as we like to eat out .

In all honesty given the mixed reviews I had read, I had my reservations however, I need not have worried we had a wonderful night. Our party of 15 was looked after from the moment we arrived when we were shown to our table to our leaving at the end of the meal where we were greeted farewell, I cannot fault it. The food was good and plentiful; we tried a variety of dishes including Pastas, Pizzas and Carnes; all were excellent. The service was attentive, yet not intrusive, the price was very reasonable and the ambiance just about right. It was a family occasion and we were treated like a family. We will certainly be back in the New Year. My advice to anyone reading this is try it and make up your own mind just as we did; we were certainly not disappointed.
