Tasty food in a busy but quiet setting. The menu choice was extensive. I had the beef shin ragu, which was tasty. Good choice of wines and other drinks.

Amazing pizzas, great variety and good value for money.

Delicious food and great service. We hadn't booked and walked in on a Saturday night. Totally expected to hear that they hadn't got any room for us, but luckily they had a table available and it was such a fab night. I recommend you try this restaurant. It wasn't too pricey and the food was so tasty.

Excellent service. My husband asked for something off the menu- a vegetarian calzone and it was made no problem at all. I had a pizza- again very tasty fresh and hot.

Excellent food and service. The friendly and helpful staff can't do enough for you. Great menu for all tastes and the quality is superb. Visited twice on a short break as we were so impressed. Gets very busy early on and booking advised to avoid disappointment. Definitely go again when in the area.

Food was extremely tasty and full of flavour. Price was decent for an Italian, 1 starter and 2 mains for £35. Service was excellent, was in and out in under 50 minutes! Also got some garlic mayo to go with the 🍕😋

Went for a family meal. Drinks taken, 2 were missed. Order taken, missing 2 starters. Mains came, took 15 minutes from first to last. Dessert was very similar, brought an extra coffee and one less dessert. After dinner drinks missing 2.

Really slow service. We only ordered 4 pizzas and it wasn't busy and they took over an hour to arrive. The waitress did apologise and offer a free drink. It is a shame as the food once it arrives is really nice it would just be good if the service matched the level of the food.

Food is good but it won’t win awards and pretty pricey. The inside of the restaurant is nice and cosy but the “courtyard” is awful. It could be a nice space but there are just bins, cigarette butts everywhere and the sound of an extractor fan.

Would not recommend. Went for dinner with a group of ladies who go regularly. We were all looking forward to a lovely meal, unfortunately this didn't happen. When the pate arrived it was a teaspoon full, no butter. Certainly not enough for the 3 bits of bread. This was highlighted immediately and some butter and a 'portion' of pate arrived. We were told that was all that was left. Then the mains arrived. My fellow diners were highly disappointed after their expectations were so much higher after eating there so regularly. I had the gluten-free pasta, experience would know, you can't cook gf pasta al-dente! All these issues were highlighted with the staff, we were told the chef was 18! So still training, and shouldn't have the responsibility of serving a full restaurant. I'm sure his confidence will be shot after all the food that we saw return to the kitchen, poor lad, and the girl who was left to manage front of house was also very young and again left to deal with the mess of the evening. This is bad management of the owner, who btw was too busy in another restaurant to speak to us. Looking forward to receiving a snide or sarcastic comment from the owner, this seems to be his form on here.

Delicious seafood 🍕. Staff were very polite & attententive. Would highly recommend.

Booking a table was easily done online. The staff were very helpful, attentive and polite. Felt very relaxed and comfortable. The food was delicious, definitely recommend the meatballs!

We walked into here on an off chance as it looked so lovely. The place was filled with people and no seats. We left to look for somewhere until the manager saw us leave and ushered us back and found us a seat. We were chuffed! The food was fantastic, the food was being made on show. The atmosphere was great and staff so attentive. I would highly recommend. What a fabulous find!!

Staff were friendly and accommodating, unfortunately, disappointed that after listing itself as an authentic Italian dining I was served with ham on my pizza instead of the advertised prosciutto, and no option of Italian beers!!? Music theme was an odd choice.

Any time I go to an italian restaurant for the first time, I try the seafood linguine. This was the best I've ever had. My wife had the lasagne and she said the same. Great stuff guys.

Enjoyed a catch-up with friends. One with bigger eyes than belly. So they offered her a takeaway box for the surplus. Staff were on point for service, not waiting for ages. Food arrived. Staff came back asking if we required more drinks. Food was nice, and the pasta dish was very tasty. Definitely didn't need a starter! It's a very different place from when it first ever opened, and I think it's better than the pizzeria down the road. Easy to book online with plenty of communication. I'd definitely come back and try the pizza's and with the kids.

My Mediterranean pizza had loads of nicely grilled veg. His Atomically had loads of pepperoni, olives and chilli. Both excellent. Service was genuine.

The restaurant managed to find us a seat as it was fully booked. The lasagne was lovely, but a warning over the fries if you don't like too much seasoning make sure you tell them. The fries were so salty I couldn't eat them. They have said in future guests will be asked/advised. My husband had lobster ravioli and that was wonderful.

Called a bit late for breakfast, so had this little lot. No stress and a bonus is that the coffee is nice too 😀

Good food, had dinner menu of hot roast beef and onion ciabatta sandwich,+ 1 hot pork, shared some fries and a glass of wine. Value for money service very good and polite waitressees. Highly recommend

Best olive and bread starter ever tasted! Fantastic, knowledgeable and understanding staff, very professional , explained difference between dishes. Our meals, pizza, fennel sausage were perfection . Also, great understanding of my mother in law's disability. This was a faultless eating experience. Relaxing, great ambience . Please don't ever change anything !! X

Poor essentially. Whilst the staff were pleasant the food was disappointing. I ordered a meatball pizza which consisted of one (yes one) sliced up meatball on an ok basic pizza. Partner's pizza a passable Margherita. We ate outside and had the pleasure of watching someone from a flat above empty their rubbish in a bin whilst we gazed across the fake grass and enjoyed the sound of kitchen vents. Felt like the owners were doing as little as possible to create a good experience.

Required a quick meal with a break from festival. Pizza was undercooked and pasta dish was luke warm. Not a good experience to entice me back.

Brilliant freshly cooked pizzas. They also offer a gluten free pizza which was lovely. Toppings were fresh and generous along with a really well made dough. Quick and easy to order with helpful friendly staff at collection. The only feedback (definitely not a complaint) was that the gluten free base could have been slightly crispier. This is very hard to achieve and does not take away from how good the pizzas were and is merely constructive feedback. We will definitely be ordering again!! This is an amendment to the original review for takeaway. We have now eaten at the restaurant for a birthday party. The food was fresh, well made and produced with quality ingredients. The staff were friendly, attentive and kind with their service. This is a lovely restaurant, with a nice ambience and well priced food that represents value for money. Amendment 2: Consistency is key! We've been a few times now and consider this restaurant a go to choice that doesn't disappoint. The service is excellent and the food is good and fresh. We will definitely be visiting again! Thanks.

Gave my husband what he thought was the wrong meal because it lacked any flavour. When Sent back they returned the same meal microwaved claiming they had a trainee chef. I ordered the shin of beef ragu, hunt the beef, basically tomato pasta for £17. Very poor. Very disappointing as was a treat holiday meal with the family

Always good on the many times we've been, great food and service!

Fantastic authentic Italian food. We popped in for lunch as a family and were seated promptly also had our dog with us that they welcomed in and also gave her a bowl of water. Would highly recommend and would 100% visit again if we are in the area.

Always excellent. We come here pretty regularly for early dinner with our 2 young children - 6 and 4. There's a small children's menu and the staff couldn't be more helpful with the children. Without the children, same applies; good atmosphere in an evening. Good size menu - not extensive - but everything is always excellent. Fresh ingredients, freshly made. Always well looked after. Could have done with some air con today, but otherwise as good as ever.

We come here a lot, and it's always fantastic so thought I'd leave a review, food is delicious, wine list is perfect for a place like this, (have the pinot blanc!) Service is the real attraction, everyone is super friendly and accommodating, especially Harry, who has, twice in the same week made sure we have a nice evening, hats off all the team at La Trat. Food was AMAZING, authentic and served so fast. Service was great also. In fact I couldn't recommend more highly... Please book at busy times as they were turning so many people away, but if you can go it will be worth it. Thank you for making our weekend away x

We ate here twice this week. We both had pizza the first time and the second time my wife had Saltimbocca and I had flat iron steak. Absolutely lovely tasty food, and plenty too. The pizzas were great. We shared a chocolate brownie afterwards that was just heavenly. The staff are all friendly and very helpful. 6 stars from me!

Evening meal with family...all very satisfied and left full....staff very professional and well trained and pleasant... you will need to book in advance else you will be turned away... very busy restaurant... well worth a visit

Lovely food and reasonably priced

Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and food overall was very good. We had a great time there and had some really wonderful dishes! I thoroughly recommend the small plates. But we were absolutely shocked at the size of the aubergine parmigiana, £18 for a small tapas bowl. It was very good, but that kind of pricing is ridiculous and doesn’t really make sense compared to the rest of the menu. When you compare with the pastas with seafood and meat, how was a small tapas bowl more expensive? It’s a vegetable dish! Vegetables shouldn’t cost more than life! Than meat and fish! It’s aubergine, cheese, and a nice tomato sauce. I make it at home. The starters were incredible value when put next to the main, in-fact I’d say that parmigiana was a starter portion, I wouldn’t have paid more than £9, even that is a stretch when you think of the cost of what is in it. It’s been the person who’s ordered it’s favourite meal for the past 40 years, they have ordered it many time in different restaurants, they usually get 2x as much for 1/2 the price. Huge shame. I’d also work on the pizza dough a bit more. I think/ hope I was just unlucky. I believe the dough needed more stretching, because apart from the taste and being too thick, mine looked tiny compared to other pizza I’ve seen in reviews (and as a regular Neapolitan pizza eater, I know the standard). I love pizza, so I was sad I had a small (dense) pizza when I’ve seen other having pizza that are the size of the plate, which I’m guessing were nice, thin and crispy. I’d definitely come back again and would recommend to people, just not the parmigiana….

Nice decor, although we were sat in a tiny corner.. didn’t see much of the restaurant. Food was nice. Didn’t get offered Parmesan or pepper on pasta .. had to ask. The cocktail was pitiful.. £9 for the tiniest glass.. looked like a small, sad glass of wine. Asked for the bill twice and had to get up to ask again. It’s the little details that matter . We came here because we had been to the one in Helmsley but that one is def better.

Eaten here a few times now and love this place! Great atmosphere and great food! Staff are really friendly and helpful! Can’t wait to go again tonight 😀

Had a lovely Sunday brunch today served by the wonderful Imogen, who handled a busy restaurant very well. Great food and service, tainted by the bad attitude of her manager in the stripy jumper. It costs nothing to be decent to your staff.

If you are coming to malton yorkshire for the day this is a good place to come and have a lunch they also do breakfast and dinner Lovely food great staff and a lovely atmosphere, Not too expensive at all. Would I recommend this restaurant

Arrived at 1 45on a Friday closing at 2 although Web site says 3pm.answer was. "We're trying to change that" perhaps.................

With a surprise family visit, we ended up as a walk in and were seated on the high bar table. It is best to book in advance though for future reference. The meals were excellent. My dad enjoyed his risotto and my fish was just spicy enough although it needs more salad! I recommend highly. 👌

Came here today with my partner for a spot of lunch while visiting Malton and the local charity shops. The food here was simply divine!!! The restaurant was only moderately busy with a few staff members working, however they were extremely polite, courteous and friendly. We felt welcomed and at ease right away. They have the option of specials, normal menu items as well as an set menu for lunchtime. We both ordered starters, mains and desserts from the set menu with a drink each as well as a portion of truffle fries to share on the side. The arancini was phenomenal, with a beautiful tomato sauce made with local fresh ingredients. The pizza dough was wonderful and my creamy pesto pappardelle was simply mouth watering!! We have both visited Italy, Lake Garda region earlier this year and had similar items there and this restaurants quality most definitely lives up to the same standards!!!! The tiramisu and chocolate brownie desserts were also heavenly. Over all, this cost us under £50 for both of us and was a perfect experience from start to finish! I would definitely recommend that others visit this perfect and tasty little gem!!

Delicious pizzas, beautifully made, a variety of delicious choices. Good service and friendly helpful staff. Unfortunately there seemed to be a smell of the drains wafting through the restaurant, which spoilt the overall enjoyment of our meal. But it will not prevent us from going back.

My friend and I went for lunch, first time to this place. We ordered two beef and onion ciabatta sandwiches. They arrive first, pork and apple, we said we had ordered beef and she took them away and came back with the beef but no onion, by this time we were getting a bit fed up but we cut into our sandwiches and honestly couldn’t tell if it was beef or pork. Very dissatisfied, we did complain and got a reduced bill, but all in all it was awful. The meals that were coming out did look nice.

Unable to help three weary travellers who had not booked ahead and found their address on Google maps. Helpful staff recommended somewhere else but they couldn't help either.

Poor from beginning to end. We were sat at a table which was clearly not big enough for four people, even then we had to ask to be moved despite the staff being unable to put all the food on the table. Felt sorry for new waitress, obviously just thrown in there with little or no training. My Daughters food arrived as we were finishing our main. We were told it was the new girls fault. My food was acceptable, but my family didn't really enjoy their food too much. Also, smoking is permitted (fine, I also vape) but we had a lady smoking a cigarette a few metres away from our children. The reason for this is due to the hot weather, so the front and rear doors were open to cool the restaurant. Very grateful for the fresh air, but then move the smoking area away from the tables near the door. Unacceptable to have cigarette smoke blowing directly into my children's faces in 2022. I didn't enjoy my visit at all. Price was average, but don't care about that if the food and service aren't up to standard.

Have visited La Trattoria a few times the blueberry croissants are fantastic as are the almond ones. The 5 stack pancakes with bacon and maple syrup are simply outstanding not to mention enormous and very good value. Visited again today for our all time favourite croissants and was not disappointed. Staff are very friendly and always efficient.

Had the lunch menu 2 courses. Enough choices on menu. Food was good but everything, starters and mains was over seasoned with salt! Very friendly staff. Service was good.

I phoned at 1.57pm asking to order a pizza like i do most weeks the women said they had stopped serving at 2 and was not willing to do one. The website says they stop doing food at 2:30 will not be using again. terrible customer service. Don't USE!

Delicious yummy food, wonderful service - great value for the quality and amount. Had the lunch menu - mussels starter & chicken & mushroom risotto main, and basil and tomato linguine & tiramisu dessert. All very delish - and service impeccable. Highly recommend! No photos cos just couldn’t wait that long to dig in!
