Laco Cafe & Bistro in Stockport

2nd visit to this quality cafe / bistro in past few months. Tried Brekkie Barm & Mushrooms on sourdough. Both excellent. Moderate pricing but good value & quick friendly service. Good quality coffees.

I lived in Stockport for 2 years and Laco Café was my number one favorite restaurant! I've been there a hundred times! Mario is a lovely man, very passionate and dedicated. I will always remember this place. I really hope that I will return there one day.

Good quality, fresh food and large portions. Very clean and staff are all lovely. Smoothies are really nice too.

If you are in or near Stockport, I would recommend maybe walking by or something to see if it is or will be open. I went to look at this place with the family, but it was not open when Google Maps said that it should have been open at the time (This was twice, if I correctly recall). We plan on walking by it again tomorrow; hopefully, it will be open when it should be so.

Found this little gem of a cafe tucked away on Underbank. Ordered the full breakfast which was excellent. The team here are lovely and friendly. Would highly recommend this cafe.

Went here for lunch while it was a little busy, we were asked to wait outside untill table was ready. We waited outside for twenty minutes then the staff sat down two groups of people straight away that hadn't been waiting. They totally forgot they left us outside. Terrible service, personally I'd avoid as there are plenty of places around the market and underbank of Stockport to eat with better food and service

had the French toast with an iced vanilla latte, and they were absolutely sensational! The French toast was incredibly soft and fluffy, bursting with flavour – easily one of the best I’ve ever had. The coffee? Sheer perfection. The iced vanilla latte was smooth, perfectly balanced, and just what I needed. To top it off, the owner, Marian, is such a lovely person, which made the whole experience even better. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!

Lovely little hidden gem in Stockport Underbank. Access by foot only as its in a pedestrian zone but we'll worth it. Food was delicious, service was with a smile and price wise average for a hipster type area. Can't pre book a table so come early to avoid disappointment. Would 100% recommend and definitely going again soon!

We are working on-site round the corner, we've been going to Laco for our lunch, the soup is always amazing, and the toasties are great 👍 the coffee is really good and... the staff. They are excellent and chatty, welcoming and always smiling .... which is find great.

Absolutely lovely food, very polite and friendly staff. Highly recommend the mushrooms on toast, perfect eggs. Yoi cam tell the ingredients are high quality and fresh. Definitely visit again and the milkshake was lovely aswell. Nice to visit a independent cafe/bistro with such quality food.

I stopped by with my partner for brunch on a very wet and grey autumn Monday morning. We were warmly welcomed inside and seated immediately. The cafe is cosy and inviting, and there is lots on offer on the menu; we ordered the Full English breakfast and the chicken and bacon baguette, with a cup of English breakfast tea and a San Pellegrino limonata. Our drinks arrived quickly and our food soon after. The English breakfast was delicious; ingredients really fresh and prepared to perfection. I can honestly say this is the best full English I’ve had in years, or maybe ever! My partner says the baguette and accompanying potato salad were scrumptious and highly recommends. We were served by Marion, who was lovely and very attentive. I would highly recommend this hidden gem and would say it’s definitely worth a detour.

We went there as a group of 7, despite being busy the staff went extra mile to accommodate us. The food , the drinks... everything was 10/10. Will be vising again.

Staff seemed to be waiting for day-off on a Sunday afternoon. They just pretended to be working on something else & ignored us. We had no chance to order food & drinks. Left with no regrets😤

We had such a lovely time! For such a small place, we weren't expecting table service, which was a lovely surprise and turned a quick stop off for lunch into a little date🌹 my partner had the New Yorker (I had a bite and it was delicious), while I had a fantastic Caesar salad - crisp and tasty. I also had the orange, carrot & ginger juice (the perfect ginger kick!) and my partner had a refreshing smoothie. The portion sizes were spot on and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Thanks for a lovely meal - we look forward to visiting again.

Yesterday I went there for a lunch with my friend and I have to say that I loved the vibe however when I asked if they have vegan coffee I was told no hence I ordered tea that was brought with cow milk so I politely asked to take it away and suddenly lovely lady appeared with an offer of oat milk which was lovely however confused me the gentleman few minutes before said I can’t have a coffee when they have oat milk 😳🤷‍♀️🤣. If they would have any vegan options I would definitely come back. Tables also could be spaced slightly different so bigger people or prams can move around without others moving out of the way. I loved how staff was respectful, polite and helpful and customers were lovely too.

We were asked to wait for a table, sat outside for 20 minutes while the waiter gave away several tables to other people who just walked in. We've had poor service a few times The food is good though and they have a menu which will suit most Allergies, do double check when you order and it arrives, I had some none gluten bread included once even though I ordered a gluten free alternative

Food was just amazing .. huge plate, great value and products used first class.. it was our first time today and we can not wait to return. Team of staff were great, so helpful and friendly . We even purchased take out cake to eat at home.. those were absolutely delicious!!!

Finally visited Laco today - wanted to come for ages but it’s always busy and unfortunately not open when I finish work. Friendly staff! Extensive menu. I opted for the French toast and wow - so tasty and massive portion! Smoothie was tasty too. Will definitely be back to try the coffee! Lovely, cosy cafe!

The place is not very large, and you need to wait in line to get in. The serving speed is not very fast, but the food is quite good. However, the drinks could be improved—my cappuccino was a bit weak. The staff are very polite and courteous.

I went into this cafe last week with some friends for an oat milk latte that and noticed the food looked absolutely gorgeous. I am a vegan and had the sourdough hummus and pepper sandwich which was amazing, there are lots of vegan choices on the menu and I’m looking forward to trying them all. You won’t be disappointed if you try this little gem of a cafe

Great place for coffee and brunch

What a find - in a rainy day in Stockport! Lovely fresh juices, smoothies and wide selection in the menu catering for everyone! We had food envy with other tables orders - but weren’t disappointed with our cheese and onion toasties. Service friendly and efficient, very small and full - but worth a wait if needed!

The food was absolutely delicious. I had eggs royale - perfect amount of hollandaise, delicious eggs and smoked salmon, and the sourdough is delicious. Apparently the tuna sandwich was also incredible. Coffee was good too and service very friendly.

Had to wait for a table as the lunchtime rush was on but worth the wait. Lovely to see how much care and attention was taken when cleaning down the table. Both the food and drink we ordered were amazing - the toasted sandwich was hot and bursting with cheese, the eggs Benedict were perfectly cooked and both plate were really nicely presented. The fresh orange juice was incredibly tasty and the coffee hot and strong. There was quite a queue forming for table but we were not rushed to vacate. This is a little gem in an upcoming area and I would highly recommend it.

We loved this place. We also loved the food. If we are back in Stockport we will definitely be back to eat here.

Wonderful little hidden cafe in the city centre found by chance. Fresh ingredients in both drinks and the flavourful salads. Service very friendly and chatty, loved that. Keep the good work 🙌🏽

My partner and I called in for breakfast/early lunch. We're not locals (shame!). My partner ordered a full breakfast, and I had eggs benedict with Avocado 🥑 I also added a few bits. Hash brown, mushrooms, ⁷and beans. I genuinely mean this... it was the best I've ever had! All fresh, eggs poached to perfection, nothing was processed. I was full halfway through, but I couldn't leave any. The service was great, too. Natalie served us. I would highly recommend this wonderful little bistro/café. Thank you 😊 💓

Very friendly staff, superb cakes and wonderful hot chocolate

Absolutely delicious! I started with a coffee, which was done to perfection by Simina: creamy, flavourful, and with a hint of chocolate (which is the touch needed for a perfect Cappuccino). I then got myself a good portion of poached eggs, bacon, and avocado served with a side salad and crunchy sourdough bread. I just couldn't get enough of it! Nice and cosy atmosphere, with a friendly and welcoming vibe. A clean and well organised place - they certainly know what they're doing. It's my favourite spot for my days off now. It's definitely worth a try! I came in a little bit stressed as I had a hectic day, but I left all smiling and happy..., and that's all that matters, isn't it? :)

Nothing special. Not sure why this place is so highly rated we had a very average brunch, and theres definitely better in the area.

Enjoyed a quick lunch on arrival to Manchester so much that we went out of our way to go back before departing. Sandwiches (toasties) were freshly made and delicious both times. Espresso and hot chocolate also got high marks!

Lovely little cafe for breakfast. The staff are very friendly and attentive. We had Eggs Benedict (one with bacon and one with salmon) which were both lovely and tasty. A couple of outdoor tables which were perfect for sitting out in the sun on a hot day like today. Will definitely come again!

We absolutely love this place. Been there 3 times on a Saturday this last month and now wouldn't go anywhere else while in stockport. Although it's busy every time, we wait until there is a table available. It is honestly worth the wait. The food is delicious, the coffee is spot on, and the staff are friendly, efficient, and competent, and it is so clean and pleasant. Love the place

We had veggie breakfast, smashed Avocado and Halloumi on sour dough. With a smoothie and Americans. Great food, great service and lovely strong coffee.

Delightful cafe, we had a tea, latte, sourdough toast with butter and jam. It was lovely and fresh and good quality. We were sorry we didn't order something more as all the food looked excellent. It was all beautifully presented, the staff so very friendly and welcoming and the cafe itself was spotless. In fact it is a great little find and we will definitely be back very soon! 🙂

Called today whilst out shopping with a friend. The food was absolutely delicious 😋 The menu offered plenty of choice, the waitress was lovely, the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. Fabulous coffee with my wife, brother and sister-in-law. Staff were friendly and very welcoming. We had two flat whites and two americanos. They were all so tasty. We didn’t eat but the food we saw being served just looked amazing. The next time we visit Stockport we will be visiting for brunch.

Lovely discovery for us this place. We don't live in Stockport but came to pick my daughter from train station so we stop for some brunch. My daughter found this. It's a quaint little café, lively with customers. Attentive, friendly service. The first time in months I had the pleasure to drink a hot coffee, instead ofbthe ususal tepid stuff with silly toppings everywhere else, and tasty too!! I shouldn't butbwas so nice that I had a second one. My meal was excellent and generous. And so my other two family members. The smoked salmon bit was fresh and generous.

Been here twice. Had a sandwich and salad the first time and a full English breakfast the next. Both meals were really tasty and the sandwich in particular was a very generous portion. Staff are on the ball and friendly. Probably the best cafe I’ve tried in Stockport.

I was in here 9 months ago as you can see from the below review, I've just got to say on this visit it was even better than the last time. The two waitresses were excellent, food outstanding. And the cafe was nearly full by 8.30. this shows what a great place this is. Previous review below. What a lovely little cafe/bistro this is. Staff were very warm and friendly, they paid great deal of attention to make sure everything was right. I looked at the menu and thought it looked expensive for what you got, but when the food came it was well seasoned, hot not tepid like most cafes. The atmosphere in there is so relaxing with the background music playing, I'll definitely be visiting again in the future.

Not quite as good as the other reviews made it out to be, honestly. Too much focus on sourdough. No paninis anymore. Few iced coffee choices (coconut or caramel frappe - no simple iced latte etc.

Absolutely fantastic little hidden gem. We found this cafe through a search on Google when we needed breakfast inspiration. It is tucked away down a street in the older section of Stockport. Lovely atmosphere as soon as we entered, plenty of customers but not too busy. The service was quick and attentive, we felt looked after. The food was delicious! Cooked so well, you could tell they cared about taste and presentation and tasted great. Cannot fault a single thing and the staff were so nice. And my takeaway cake was gorgeous too. Will definitely be returning.

I've been searching for a great Caesar Salad and at last have found one at this lovely little place. No skimping on the chicken and bacon and just the right amount of dressing and parmesan. Well worth the wait!

Lovely little place for breakfast with my wife and our youngest. Never been before and reviews were outstanding, so was looking forward to our visit. Menu was fantastic but opted for the Laco Mushrooms on Toast due to some of the reviews. I'd usually have a full English type plate, but this didn't disappoint! Full of flavour and lovely presentation. Wife's eggs Benedict was delicious too (as were our daughter's sausages!). Great staff and atmosphere. Will 100% be going back!

Absolutely the best bistro in Stockport. The food was fabulous. We had breakfast there while on a visit to Stockport. Used google to find the place. I cannot recommend highly enough. My wife had mushrooms on toast, AMAZING, I had Eggs Benedict with avocado. Perfectly cooked and tasty. ❤️❤️❤️
