L'Autre in City of London, Westminster

Ended up here by chance and what a nice surprise! We stocked to the polish menu and the food was delicious. Portions are not huge but filling. Pierogi are great! Definitely a nice spot. The staff is helpful and full of attention to details!

We had a layover in London and decided to seek a Polish meal, which we had not had for some time. Fortunately for us, L’Autre was just around the corner from us and they had one table for two still available! We were greeted warmly and started our meal with kielbasa with sautéed onions and bread. Hot, delicious and so delicious! My wife ordered the mixed Polish Pirogi’s and I had the evening special of pork and wild boar sausages with beets, potatoes and gravy! Excellent! So tasty and a perfect portion size as well! We shared some red wine and our dinner was exceptional. We didn’t save room for dessert, this time, but we can’t wait to return. We were given a small shot of cherry vodka, each and it was amazing! They have many specialty vodka’s and other spirits and wine! Great selection! Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our first visit to this lovely Polish restaurant. We had an appointment nearby and we almost ended there by chance, but the experience did not disappoint. Highlights to the goulash, with tender meat and not too salty, having well-balanced flavours. The herring was a tasty surprise as well. As for the pierogi, they were good, with amazing fried onions on top. It's worth mentioning their wonderful polish vodka selection, they are dangerously good. The price point is not too bad considering it's Mayfair. It's more expensive than what you would pay at a neighborhood polish restaurant, but in my opinion it's worth the money. We didn't have a chance to try the Mexican items. Honestly, the restaurant works so well with the Polish menu that the Mexican options almost feel out of place. There aren't really any dishes combining Polish and Mexican cuisine. But, from what we heard, there's a historical reason why they kept the Mexican menu, which is fine. We would definitely go back.

Nos encontramos con esta pequeña joya en el corazón del mercado de pastores en Mayfair. Solo puedo decir lo aliviado que fue decir que cada plato fue delicioso. Rara vez entro en un restaurante sin tener problemas de un tipo u otro, pero L'Autre era un soplo de aire fresco en el corazón turgente y los pulmones de la restauración. Literalmente compartimos cada plato y los cinco exclamamos con placer en cada bocado. Incluso el proyecto de ley no es irrazonable. Volveré a visitarte pronto. Gracias por restaurar mi fe en poder comer fuera con placer para variar.

We had a wonderful evening, the food was outstanding and the hospitality was first class. Loved it here and will be returning.

Wife and I needed a good meal after being tourists all day and this place hit the spot. Amazing food. Highly recommend the mushrooms and garlic app. Good service only two servers but they were very attentive. Some of the best mashed potatoes and sausage I’ve ever had.

Really enjoyed a return visit to L'Autre. Quirky Polish/Mexican restaurant. Very friendly. Great mix of food - well cooked and very tasty. Excellent range of vodkas!

Had a fantastic dinner! All the polish stuff was delicious and authentic. I wish I had taken a picture of my dinner but I inhaled it before I even thought of taking a picture. Golonka, pierożki and gulasz were particularly worth recommending. Apple pie was so good we had seconds! Lovely and attentive staff. I’ll be back!

One of my favourite restaurants in the heart of London. It's an odd culinary combination, but the food and the atmosphere never disappoints! My partner and I always have a marvellous time when we visit!

What an amazing place! It was our first visit here. We absolutely loved warm welcome by Sylwia and Mariusz, the food was amazing and the ambience so welcoming and cosy. I'm definitely coming back and I'm sure my friends will be back too. The story behind L'autre is very interesting as well. Such a hidden gem. We were full and happy after herring, pierogi and bigos and kielbasa and wonderful szarlotka and sernik. Flavoured vodkas are delicious 😋

Small and cosy restaurants just off Shepherd Market. We chose Polish dishes throughout and enjoyed every course. Recommended to us by a close friend, we'll most definitely be back soon. Thank you everyone at L'Autre.

A lovely evening with friends who've never had Polish food before. What a great introduction! The ambience is very special. Amazing staff, especially Sylwia and Mariusz who served us and made us feel very welcome and comfortable and advised on the best dishes. Golonka is superb and kielbasa was also very good. I'm very fussy with barszcz but their was absolutely delicious. A great wine list and an impressive selection of vodkas. We will definitely be going back for more!

Wow, what an amazing gem of a restaurant, wonderful welcome, cosy home from home setting, mouth watering food! 5 of us shared most of the Polish starter and main courses, and each chose a different flavoured vodka to all have a try, before settling on a bottle of quince vodka to share. We can't recommend enough. Will definitely be back!!

What a charming restaurant. Mariusz is a great and informative host telling us about the history of the restaurant and guiding us with the menu. We had a fab time trying various traditional Polish dishes, beer and of course the vodka.

Awesome! We went with friends (one of whom is Polish) and had most amazing evening - food, service, all boxes ticked. Team that run the place are so pleasant you could be given for thinking that you weren't in Mayfair. Plus fantastic value for money - we shall come again!

A lucky find in Central London. The staff was amazing, very welcoming. The atmosphere was very cozy. We loved both the Mexican and Polish food options (was a cure for homesick Polish friends) and the accomponying conversation. And of course a shot of Polish vodka. The prices are reasonable for the deliciousy and location. The warmth surrounded us after a cold evening walk at the Hyde Park.

We absolutely loved this place. There's a great back-story to the place, which explains how a Polish-Mexican place came about – and why it has a French name – be sure to ask the staff. The atmosphere is really warm and welcoming, just off a delightful village-y area of Mayfair (and very near the original Curzon cinema, which is what brought us to the area). Staff were super friendly and fun. Best of all was the food. Turns out nachos really are a perfect match for sliced Polish sausage; who knew? I had a sausage with bigos and my parter had beef enchiladas. Both were excellent, especially accompanied by a few shots of flavoured vodka (homemade, I believe). I'd definitely come back and it would be a great place to bring a group of friends. Thanks to the staff for a great evening.

Went there for the first time earlier this week, for a pre-birthday dinner, after previously coming across it while closed a while ago. The menu and concept intrigued us and so of course we had to give it a go. Immediately we were welcomed in and given great assistance. The staff all seemed very happy and were more than happy to joke with us and tell us about the history of the location. The food had that special home cooked appeal that some places miss out on no matter what they try. We each had a different main (i myself had the enchilada), all which were very appetising and appealing, and then to follow we had a couple desserts which left us complete. And to top it off, the restaurant gave us each a free shot of Polish vodka which was a lovely surprise. I would highly recommend coming here, no matter if you're Polish or Mexican or whatever else. If I lived in London it's certainly somewhere I would try to visit again

This is one of my favourite spots in all of London. The service is always so good and lots of fun, the food is like a cosy blanket and there is an array of vodka flavours to try.

Staying in the market area on holiday. I stopped by for pierogies, but they were full. They took my number and said they’d call. An hour and a half later I hadn’t heard from them, went downstairs and discovered they had empty tables, but she still acted like she couldn’t seat me. It was clear they had forgotten about me. So I went elsewhere. This is not a restaurant friendly to solo travelers.

I have visited this spot many times, and it never ceases to amaze me! Natalia and Mariusz are pure magic - always going an extra mile, even if you forget to reserve a table. The food? Spectacular. But it's Mariusz's and Natalia's hospitality that make this place shine! They are the secret ingredients to an awesome dining experience.

Delicious goulash 🥰 Such a homemade taste. I can't explain fully. It has that taste that is missing from any other place than when made at home. It has the homemade magic ingredient. This is my fav place in Sheperd Market! Super service and food. The owner, barman and waitresses form a great team that is simply unique. Selection of wines is fantastic and very reasonably priced. Stays open late when necessary…😉

A search for late night dining brought us to this charming corner in Shepherd Market where L’Autrure is located. And what followed was a wonderful meal, lovely wine and exceptional service. We will return!

There are no words to describe how amazing this gem spot is! A very unique restaurant located close to green park station, don’t get confused by the polish/mexican fusion. They know what to do and they serve it well! We ordered plenty of dishes to share and trust me… everything from this kitchen is just delicious! Polish pierogi, pate, sausage, barszcz… everything on point, mouthwatering. We ended up here pretty much at random - and that’s what some call “luck”. This is a somewhat improbable “Polish-Mexican” restaurant (although primarily Polish). It is a small, lovely place, yet quite busy, serving exactly that - Polish OR Mexican meals. And both were really, REALLY good. We also had some desserts that were equally good. The restaurant was packed with Polish speakers, which, I guess, is an excellent sign too. I definitely recommend it!

I've been there a couple of times now and will definitely go back more! It's a tiny restaurant, but the atmosphere, the service and most importantly the food (I've only had the Polish dishes) are fantastic. The wine and Polish liqueur selection is also excellent. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic spot! Some of the best pierogi I've had outside of my grandma's kitchen. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The space is small in a great way - no shouting to talk, just nice and cosy for conversations.

A cosy and charming restaurant with an interesting history. Very friendly and helpful staff. I tried the Polish traditional food and it was very good. However, the dumplings were quite small and the portion could have been bigger for the price.

Dessert as you can see were a good size and we're delicious. We are definitely going to go back. For those who like vodka and other drinks they have a great choice to choose from. What can I say. At the beginning I need to say the name is French, but food is defo straight from Polish kitchen. Really smell amazing and taste like my grandma dishes. Good atmosphere make that restaurant really nice, it is one of the place where you want to come back.

Had no idea what to expect from a Polish/Mexican restaurant, but the service, wine, and cheese were good and looking forward to going back for a main course.

I hope this place never changes. Affordable, delicious, a unique mix of Polish and Mexican. Wonderful barszcz. It's welcoming and special. The staff are obliging and the diners are happy and relaxed.
