Left Luggage Room in North Tyneside

Visited while stopping in Monkseaton for a few days. What an excellent find too ! - Great location, lovely ambience inside & a superb selection of Real Ales 🍺 Very reasonably priced too. Highly recommend & we will be back soon.

Great beer selection, great atmosphere, very friendly staff.

It was almost a year to the day since i was last in. It's still great. Nice mulled wine over Xmas, which warms you up pleasantly.

Cozy pub inside the metro station. There's always something good on in terms of beer and their gin range is very decent too! Seating both inside and outside, tends to get pretty busy but well worth a visit!

Good food at good prices and cheap beer What's not to like

A great place to start or end your Metro journey. We had a beer before getting the train back to Newcastle. There was an ebb and flow of customers doing the same journey one way or another. Great beers available means you could stay much longer and get a later train. A very good selection of drinks and very efficient staff make for a really enjoyable place.

Great beer and it's such a great location.

Cracking little pub! Loads of interesting beers, wine and spirits. Reasonable amount of seating inside and loads of covered seating outside on the station platform. You can do a great pub crawl down the coast including this as a stop. Make sure if you’re travelling by Metro and using a Pop card to tap out before you sit down so you don’t get charged.

Superb steaks. Filet mignon done rare was absolutely delicious.

Good selection of beer, helpful service. Lavatories let it down.

Lovely little pub by the metro station with free parking and a lovely atmosphere, all the staff are lovely. Lots of choice and variety of beers and lots of room to sit and have a drink.

Great range of gin and tonic with ingredients explanation on board of what to order with what. Downside is that it smells a bit like toilets near the bar

Lovely pub and lovely staff! I bought a coffee stout but then realised it may have lactose (and am vegan!). The barman went to check the cask!! and confirmed. So I got a gin instead, and he gave me a discount. How nice of them!!!!

Great micro pub in the old, well, left luggage room at the original art deco Monkseaton Station, now (conveniently) a Metro station for easy access from further afield. Friendly staff and a limited but nice range of beers, plus alcohol free. Good cosy atmosphere in winter, and some benches out on the station concourse for the warmer months. No proper food but various bar snacks available. Some amusing graffiti in the gents' toilet :-)

Superb bar , amazing selection of ales and great pork pies,very cool staff and customers. Great use of old railway buildings, highly recommended.

Left Luggage Room never disappoints. The atmosphere is cosy, the drinks are great. I enjoy trying guest ales. Obviously, great access with the Metro so a great place for the start, or end, of the night.

Really canny little pub and always a good choice of ales on. Friendly staff and it has a nice feeling in the evening when all the lights are low and they usually have lots going on.

A great pub with a fantastic range of beers

Visited yesterday with my Brother and Boyfriend after visiting Tynemouth food festival. Loved the quirkiness and uniqueness of the place, the fairy lights strung across the ceiling are beautiful and there is an acoustic guitar with an invitation to play it attached which I love the idea. Would recommend sitting outside as long as its warm and sunny as it can get chilly later on. Plenty of seats and tables. Dog friendly and also have water and free dog treats. Enjoyed seeing all the dogs. The bar is in Monkseaton station so it's an unusual location but we did enjoy watching the trains go past and for people watching. A good selection of drinks and ales both cask and craft the prices are on the expensive side for the keg price but the craft is more reasonable but still more expensive than usual so it would definitely be a once in a while treat for a few drinks. It does get busy later in the evening and can be quite loud in the bar. The toilets are basic but clean. Pork pies are exceptionally good and also a choice for flavours. No vegetarian choice but there is crisps and other snacks. Would go again bit only for a special event or as part of a day out mainly due to the prices.

Qwerky on-Metro station bar with drinks to suit most tastes. Very well priced too.

I can't rate this little gem high enough. This is the best place to drink on the northern coast, let alone Whitley bay.

First visit to the Left Luggage Room but hopefully more to come as great airy spacious bar with outdoor seating on the station. Helles lager and Pale Ale were great and amazing to be able to call in for a beer before the metro arrives. Loads of character, service great and friendly, as is atmosphere - would deffo recommend and hope to return for longer next time ! x

The only thing wrong with this place is it's too good. Other pubs in the area are dead but this place with no TV or stereo blasting out is full of people talking and laughing. There's a constant but polite queue at the bar but it's worth the wait for the beer / gin / whatever at the end. This place is actually worth getting on the metro for.

I would put this amongst my top ten bars. It has a lovely feel inside. Lots of bare wood, a stove and a nice roomy feel. The platform beer garden is the best of both worlds, fresh air and sunshine but no risk of rain. Our daughter loved watching the trains come and go. There was an excellent selection of local beers on keg and cask when we were there and some knowledgeable and enthusiastic bar staff, which makes all the difference. They also had a few posh pork pies on offer too.

This is one for the real ale drinkers. Located inside a Metro station, so transport is not a problem.

Always a good place for a drink and a chat

Came here Sunday for few beers Its in great location, Nice warm cosy feeling inside, with some great ales on tap, that change frequently. We were here on Sunday evening and they had various buskers on, some great entertainment with a very friendly atmosphere.

Super beer, friendly service and a relaxed attitude that makes this, as they say, the best pub in Monkseaton Station. And a bit beyond too. The local brews are definitely worth it. The chaps behind the bar and super helpful. And the toilet graffiti is class. Oh and it gets really busy on a Saturday afternoon. Full to the brim

Great pub. Good warm atmosphere. Good selection of ales. Can be a little cramped inside but there's plenty of space outside.

Nice quirky little bar conveniently located in the metro station. Good selection of craft beers as well decent rage of spirits. Staff are great and they even have bar snacks that are better than your average crisps and nuts, such a pork pies. At peaks times can get rather busy, would aviod at these times as a lot of patrons are the kind of crowd that doesn't do this bar the justice it deserves. Best place in Monkseaton for a quiet pint when possible.

This pub is located inside Monkseaton metro station. I visited at night and the atmosphere was fantastic: every table was full of people enjoying the low lighting and tasty craft beer on offer. There is a decent selection of cask and keg. The decor is themed around its location within the station with bare brick walls and open (unlit sadly) fireplaces.

Great place with a good selection of ales and gins. Staff are lovely and friendly and the pies are very tasty. Great if your getting off the metro at monkseaton.

Such a friendly pub and lovely dogs are welcome. The sauvignon blanc is really nice and dry and not overpriced. Oh and the pork pies are good

I love that the Metro stations along this stretch of the line are being used by so many different business and this is no exception. Great range of drinks (alc-free IPA included!) and a pork pie menu that's longer than some pubs' drinks menu.

nice pub in the metro station. you are sat on the platform outdoors, but under cover from the elements by the station roof. pleasant table service and clean facilities. enjoyable time watching people come and go from the metros passing by. some nice glass work in the background to appreciate!
