This place was closed, took a lot to find this out ! Disappointed as was highly recommended

Enjoyed a relatively quiet anniversary cocktail here last night and was so happy there was no Christmas music. Abba and Queen at an acceptable level, I'll take it!

The best Italian! We just had a take away from Lepones and it was brilliant. The staff were so friendly when I collected it and so reasonably priced. The food itself is just WOW amazing! We had Pizza, Pasta and a side. Already discussing going back next week. Thank you

Great food at a competitive price. Had the antipasto sharer to start. Everything from the bread to the olives was really good. Then had pizza and risotto. Pizza was light and tasty. Went on a Thursday evening so all a bit quiet but friendly, efficient service (I think they were bar staff, front of house food runner and everything else!). Would recommend.

Arrived in Oswestry mid afternoon on Saturday and enquired as to places to eat locally...owner of B n B recommended Lepones! NOT at all disappointed...food was outstanding. Superb sweet menu, simple yet very tasty! Cannot recommend enough...try it you wont be disappointed! Well done to all at Lepones...a little gem in Oswestry's crown! 10 out of 10😁👍

I come over to Oswestry regularly from Chester just to visit Lepones. The food is amazing and really authentic Italian. You can tell everything is fresh and homemade- especially the tiramisu! The spaghetti gamberi is so good I really recommend it. Service is always very efficient and so friendly- thank you especially to Kathryn for always looking after us so well and always with a smile. Thank you guys!

I booked lepones for a meal, for our anniversary. We was staying in Oswestry so I wanted somewhere close. I booked online a week in advance, and got a reply next day confirming. We went for the meal, and was met by a very nice, friendly girl. We sat ordered our food, and when it came it looked very nice. We both had starters, both very nice. We both had steak and it was cooked just right for us both. Puddings again very nice. The girl/waitress was very nice. We had no complaints at all, and enjoyed a very nice meal, for our anniversary. Would recommend Lepones.

We stopped there for a quick dinner on a way to Snowdonia. Ordered only pizzas. They were okay but probably wouldn’t go back there. Restaurant is in some historic building, old furniture. Very nice and polite waitresses.

We went here convinced by good reviews. We had to run away cause if the awful smell of mud we could feel into the noise very strong and disgusting. I couldn't appreciate the food as we didn't stay. I suggest the owners to take action about it. *Update 10pm same day Don't leave any bad review otherwise the staff will call you and scream at the phone. Very rude Staff

Great food, worth returning for, but the service was very slow. We also visited on a cold evening in January and the heating was not strong enough to keep the place warm. Becuse of this the starter plates were really cold meaning starters were cold, but main course was fine.

I have been here a handful of times in the past couple of years. The food, as always, is pretty good. But, why is the menu never changed? It's not exactly inspiring and desperately needs a makeover. Service, considering the poor ratio (3 servers for about 30 covers) was pretty attentive. If this is to carry on as a restaurant (and I understand that is up on the air) it desperately needs some updating.

A decent Italian with a relaxed vibe. We tried the anti pasta board and a pizza each, whilst you might not come here for groundbreaking exciting food, it’s honest, fresh comfort food with something for everybody. Their selection of cocktails was really great and I loved the limoncello margarita!

Can't fault it here at all! The food is absolutely beautiful, lovely restaurant and friendly staff! The pizzas are unreal and the Pina coladas are spectacular. 10/10 ☺️

Visited this venue without booking, but would advise booking as we saw a small group turned away as they had not booked. Food and service were excellent. Fascinating use of a former church! We visited on a Saturday, between 6/6.30pm. We parked in the central car park (free after 6pm!) and walked the short distance.

Good authentic Italian food. Would have like a slightly greater range of dishes on the menu, but that's my only criticism.

I ordered spaghetti with meatballs and was served chopped up spaghetti in a bland tomato sauce similar to tin spaghetti sauce. Never have been served chopped spaghetti in an Italian restaurant before in the UK or Italy

The restaurant was empty when we first came in but soon started to fill and the meal was great we'll worth every penny we spent

Well... we were really looking forward to this as it was my girlfriends birthday dinner and unfortunately ended up being a disappointment. Staff was really friendly, but the food wasn't great and pasta was way too salty and spicy and the other pasta had a hair in it. We mentioned it and weren't offered a refund at all. Now that we got back home my other half feels sick... So, overall it killed the birthday evening for sure. It's a shame as I was expecting it to be great.

Really beautiful restaurant and great service. But the gnocchi was floury. The sauce was nice, nothing special though.

The staff were rude. The food was nasty. The sauce in the bolognaise sauce tasted very watery....no flavour. The meatballs were maybe the only thing not nasty. The pizza was dry and crispy. The garlic bread was missing the garlic. The calzone had olives, tomatoes, cheese and mushrooms that's all. It did not say it had olives in it on the menu, it said seasonal vegetables and person who served us told us olives are seasonal vegetables??. The place was empty. We could not see any way the disabled could get inside.

Beautifully converted building. Food was exceptional. Lamb and fillet steak cooked to perfection.

Our first time here, what a surprise. The tomato brushetta was lovely and I had the puttenesca, which was fantastic. We all enjoyed our different, starters, mains and desserts. Would definitely recommend. If I'm ever back in the area this is where I would head.

We had a really lovely meal here at the weekend. Recommended highly to us by Michael at Nant Gloyw B&B, we were not disappointed. The service was exceptional and the food was delicious. My children were made very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for this lovely team of staff. We were on a tight budget and I felt this restaurant represented excellent value for money. Disappointed as we had read such good reviews Sat down to be informed they had ran out of Pizza dough !!!!! it was 6.40pm they opened at 5.00pm 😳 The menu was brought to us which turned out to be third of what is shown on the web page Had to ask for black pepper for the spagheti not offered parmesan No bread with soup when asked why reduced menu wAs not on web page was informed it was !!! ( defo not as checked No update web page ) and then informed reduced menu was due to covid !!! which is fine but let people know BUT having said all of the above negatives the food we had was lovely well presented and very tasty

Lovely staff, lovely food, lovely owner Italian Cuisine is never my first choice but a special occasion is a special occasion. In lieu of olives and cheese I opted for a traditional Spaghetti dish. It was wonderful, I didn't expect the sauce to be so good!

Stayed in Oswestry for one night and choose this restaurant to dine in, so glad we did, beautiful building, excellent service and the food was first class, well presented, and freshly made, we had the insulate capresse, brushetta, seabass and spaghetti gamberoni, every dish was delicious, will definitely return if in the area, would definitely recommend. PS the red wine was also very good.

Lovely last minute meal out - great food and drinks, pleasant and efficient staff (especially seeing as there was only person serving several tables), and great decor and atmosphere. We haven't been for a good few years, but great to see the quality of the food and service is still great, and my fave starter crostino de contadino was still on the menu, and just as tasty as I remember. It is a slightly reduced menu now due to covid, but still enough choice for us pescetarians. Portions were pretty generous - loads of bread in the sourdough and olives starter, and I was expecting the sea bass to be quite small, so nice surprise there! One ice cream sundae was more than enough for two of us to share as dessert after the other courses. Presentation of the food was beautiful as always. Not too crowded, well-ventilated, and covid measures were clear and adhered to, so we felt safe. As an added bonus I very much enjoyed the 60s/70s music playlist they had on, and I could hear a few other people humming along as well! All in all, a great evening out, and I'm very glad we picked Lepone's.

The staff were friendly and very efficient, we didn't have to wait too long for food, just long enough to take in the magnificent surroundings. The food itself was excellent and very hot. We will definitely be returning very soon.

Since moving to Oswestry November 2020 we have made Lepones our ‘go-to’ Friday night treat. The orders are always on time, the food is always delicious (the calzone & pizza in particular) and the homemade Biscoff cheesecake is unbelievable! Would highly recommend.

Very poor experience. Bland, bland bland! We were visiting oswestry to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday. As a table of 6 we went to lepones based on positive reviews online. Two of us ordered the chicken in brandy sauce and have never had a meal so bland. We politely gave our feedback, i ate it as i was starving, they said half the staff were stuck in italy. I think the chef must have doubled as the window cleaner as they had clearly not cooked before. After dinner i asked for a brandy coffee...what i usually finish my meal with...to be told that "we have no brandy"! So why sell that dish? No wonder they were so quick to credit us the meals. Please stop being dishonest to your customers. Lovely venue with nice cocktails but could be so much better.

Lacking in atmosphere but appeared to be liked by locals. Ordered the house red, watered down with no body, my wife had the chicken and pea risotto which she described as under seasoned and bland, I had fillet steak with Barolo sauce, steak very well cooked and sauce was fine even with a bay leaf left in. I should have realised when I was asked if I wanted salad or chips with the steak that there would not be any vegetables. Who eats steak with a sauce and salad? Did not bother with dessert and coffee. Overpriced, once bitten etc

Fantastic sourdough! In the pizza, calzone, dough balls and garlic bread, all carefully made crispy with a slight chewy texture.

The staff were the stars of this place. They were efficient and attentive without being intrusive. There was understandably a reduced menu with a reasonable number of choices. The food was tasty, well cooked and presented but not memorable. Good value for money.

Visiting wales for a couple days and fancied some Italian food. A few people recommended lepones with high praises so I decided to visit it myself. Fantastic service, staff offered me a drink while I waited for my food. The food came quicker than expected and was both hot and tasty. I recommend the spaghetti al pomodoro. Pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant as well. I genuinely would come again with the family the next time I have the opportunity to visit Oswestry again.

Excelent. Been a few times we always come a few days after valentine's to avoid the crush. Staff are always welcoming and friendly. Food filling and very tasty. Very good quality. In terms of value for money. 3 course meal and 2 drinks each with a coffee each was 75 quid. So it's not cheap but I find all Italians are this kinda price. So this on a par with what I would expect to pay.

Wow after reading the reviews of this place we were expecting so much more. We were greeted by a middle aged waitress with a poor attitude. She rushed us to make our decision as she said the kitchen was waiting to close for a break. We ordered a pizza and a lasagne, pizza was ok the lasagne was microwaved within an inch of its life was badly burnt and absolutely saturated in sauce, we asked the waitress for another slice of lasagne, she stood over my mum and asked her to try some before she took it back, we refused and asked for an alternative dish. We ordered a ciabatta which turned up at the table with 2 pizza bases making a goats cheese sandwich. I would not recommend this place at all and would question the other reviews. Maybe it was just an off day for the chef, we will not be returning.

Really good, fresh quality food with large portions

One of my favourite places to eat out in Oswestry. Authentic Italian food mixed with fantastic friendly service, all served up in a very comfortable environment. Highly recommended for a visit. A great advertisment for family-run restaurants on a high street jam-packed full of chains and franchises.

We used a voucher for afternoon tea for 2, which at a cost £21 and booked a week in advance. So you'd expect quality products to be used. That wasn't the case. Very disappointed.
