Lockdown Burger in Chorley

Stopped for a lunchtime treat and had 3 lovely burgers between us, including one vegetarian. The food for all was amazing.

Went here on Thursday night. 09/01/25 Beautiful place. Was greeted by a very friendly young man. He said we could sit upstairs if it was too cold downstairs. We opted for down however as there where other people in and it had a nice atmosphere. So it was our first time coming here. I can't believe I've actually waited so long after seeing the other reviews. Plus it's literally a 1 min walk from my house. We went for the lockdown burger with the loaded salt and pepper chicken fries and two pints of blue moon to wash it down with I got a coca cola aswell otherwise the pint would have been gone far to quickly. The burger was presented beautifully please see my photos. It tasted out of this world perfectly seasoned and cooked perfectly. The loaded fries were next level. Portion size was incredible could have been a main meal on there own. Chicken stripes were cooked amazingly well. Again seasoned to perfection. Fries had curry sauce on them. Proper chip shop style. With fresh chilli's on top. We got chatting to Chloe who I have to give a special mention to as her customer service was on top form. We asked a few questions about the place and she answered everything perfectly. Such a polite person and genuinely interested in chatting to us. The whole experience from walking in the door to leaving was nothing less than exceptional! Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. Thank you very much for a wonderful experience. 10/10

We aren't from the area but we're in Chorley dropping off Christmas gifts to a family member. We had a quick look to see where we could get some dinner before the long drive home and found Lockdown while walking along the highstreet. Genuinely one of the nicest meals me and my wife have had out in recent memory. The service was great, the decor and music was fantastic and the food was on another level. We gave compliments to the chef, it was honestly amazing. We thought the portion might be on the smaller side, so ordered a few side but they were such generous portions (see the photo.) The PB&J burger and the Cheese and Onion Pie loaded fries were a particular highlight! We also both agreed that the fried chicken was probably the best cooked chicken we'd ever had. Honestly, I think we may travel back just to have another meal here, absolutely a must try if you're in the area!

Absolute top tier scran. Been here multiple times and it has never disappointed. The staff are great, really friendly. Food is amazing, best burger place in town, hands down. Always got some good tunes on aswell, just a chill place to be with food which always hits the spot 👌

Never tried these guys prior to them having the actual shop and regret sleeping on them for as long as we did Been a couple of times since they've opened on market street and everything is spot on. Food is delicious and comes out hot, prices are more than fair for the quality you get. the vibes are immaculate and the entire teams customer service is second to none. Great to see them going strength to strength and we'll certainly be going plenty more

My friend and I decided to try a new place tonight. The atmosphere was excellent, the decor on-point, the staff were lovely and the music was nice. My friend can be rather difficult when it comes to food which he openly admits (if you guys are reading this you’ll know!). Just wanted to make sure you get the credit you deserve. Let me explain. My burger and chicken topped fries were absolutely phenomenal. Honestly one of the best burgers, and most succulent chicken I’ve had in a while. The price blew me away for the quality of the food and I was so incredibly happy with it I asked for it to go once full. Unfortunately, my friends order came and there was cheese on the burger, despite saying he only wanted lettuce, tomato and the patty on a bun. It’s an easy mistake to make , the waiter took the order back and replaced it within 5 minutes flat. My friend has a rule where if the order is wrong he sends it back and will refuse to eat. (Apologies on his behalf). The manager said we could have the burger for free and took it off the bill. I took it home with me for my partner. She very much enjoyed it. Thank you ever so much. The way you guys handled this was top notch. And I wanted you to know; you did everything right! I didn’t get chance to thank you before I left. I’m sorry I didn’t get a chance to tell you in person. I would gladly return.

We hadn't booked a table but we were welcomed in and seated quickly upstairs and given a choice of were to sit, we chose a window seat( love to people watch). We were given menus and given time to choose. I already knew what I wanted however, my partner, struggled making his choice of burger 🍔, wanting them all!! (Maybe mini tapas burgers could be invented?? ) He settled on LFC and fries eventually, and for me S&P chicken n fries with curry sauce. We ordered drinks, and food. Drinks came about 10 mins later. Time passed and we needed to order more drinks. We then had someone come over apologising for our wait on food, Our order had gone to someone else by mistake ,but ours would be with us soon. No worries, we weren't rushing. We hadnt noticed the time other than second drink reorder...Our food came a few minutes later. Food was amazing, my partner barely breathing between bites and conversation was stopped in its tracks. I don't often complain about portion size but was upset I could only manage half my portion of S&P chicken n Fries. However, I could have it boxed to take away, but declined. My partner even ate a piece of chicken only daring to ask once he knew I was truly done! During the feast, another order came like ours but had a LFC burger and cheese n onion fries , obviously we were eating , so not ours.....we didn't think anything more of it... Dam, I had really wanted a dessert the choice looked so tempting...but it wasn't to be. We went down to the bar to pay, I usually check my bill, but didn't , (couldn't be bothered getting my glasses out tbh) - I had a rough idea of cost. It was a little more than expected but not much. In the morning I checked and saw a charge for cheese and onion pie fries with the LFC burger ....oh well, not to bother I didn't tip ( couldn't see top choice tut!! No glasses) so consider this your tip and we'll call it quits, because your food is amazing and I will be back!!

Omg!!!!! What a little gem of a place. The food was absolutely fantastic.My husband and myself both had the big bird with a side of slaw and salt and pepper hash browns. Portion size was generous and absolutely amazing an my god the black forest desert was to die for. We live a forty minute drive away and will be making the trip back to eat here.

Booked a table for 6 people for my birthday. An extra 2 people turned up unexpectedly. I asked if we were able to add an extra table to the group and it wasn’t a problem. All food arrived at the same time and no one was waiting about for their food. I went for the peanut butter and jam burger. Ugh I hear you say, exactly what I thought but ordered it anyway. It was amazing! I had the plain fries, great big portion. Not one person left any food on their plates and we all agreed the food was fab. There’s nothing not to like about this place. The food is amazing, the staff are lovely and accommodating. Even the decor and the atmosphere is great. We will definitely be returning soon. Highly recommended

Still the best burger in town now in a lovely high street dine in location. Had a nice chat with Harry, a very warm and friendly waiter. A must try is the corn ribs, if I had room I could have ordered those three times over.

Tried tonight for the 1st time (25/10/24) Me and my husband when all out and order burgers, upgraded fries and 3 sides! Everything was amazing, hot, tasted amazing, staff were really pleasant. One lady staff member (didn’t get her name) was amazing she dealt with a very rude table that was sat behind us so professionally, she did everything right and the way the gentleman spoke to her was so rude and was very uncalled for. That lady needs praising on her professionalism! Well done you. But apart from that rude customer our visit tonight was 10/10! We will be back.

Burgers and sides were amazing, loved the sweetcorn ribs and cheese & onion pie fries. Presentation was really good and a great selection of sauces to have. One thing we would like to have seen though, was warm plates for the sides etc as they got cold quicker than we could eat them.

Fantastic experience and food here. Molly was super attentive, as were all the staff. I had the blue cheese burger and arctic roll, which were absolutely top-notch. I'll definitely be back.

Thoroughly enjoyed my 18th here, Joe, Harrison, honey, Lewis and Harry all were incredible with their service and attitude to their job, chloe was amazing and the kitchen staff made some of the best food I've had in a long time.

Can’t recommend this place enough! I can’t count how many times I’ve eaten here already. The staff members are polite and professional. The food is amazing! Freshly cooked and very well presented. They always go above and beyond for their customers!

Lockdown burger!!! OK, before I start on the food I would just like to say that the staff, decor and ambience were very nice. One thing I don't usually make a comment on is the music playlist, which was brilliant. Gorillaz - Melancholy Hill, Cage the Elephant, Arctic Monkeys. Some very good choons in there that added to the atmosphere perfectly. On to the food. I haven't had a Lockdown burger in ages and have been really looking forward to visiting the restaurant. Found myself wandering around Chorley, desperately hungry, and not knowing where to go. Spotted LB was open and couldn't believe my luck. Didn't think it would be open so early on a Saturday. Now, I could tell from the waiter's wry smile that I was unintentionally grinning from ear to ear. I must have appeared keyed up in general as my wife took a picture of me without my knowledge and posted it on Facebook with the caption 'Burger anticipation'. I ordered the Lockdown burger with Salt n Pepper Chicken Fries. Wife ordered The Big Kahuna burger which I had a bite of and found to be very nice indeed. I may have to try it next time or at least work my way through the menu. (She wasn't offered a taste of my burger. Terrible of me really.) We also ordered a side of Duck Bao Buns. My burger lasted approximately 37.4 seconds. One second I was picking it up, the next I was trying to figure out how to use a napkin in a dignified manner, knowing full well what I actually needed was a shower. I made an involuntary noise when I finished my burger. Something along the lines of 'Urrrrrr'. I realised very quickly this was loud enough for the other patrons to hear. I was only mildly embarrassed as the burger definitely deserved the noise. I must have eaten it pretty fast because even though me and the wife have been together 20 years and she's seen me hoover up countless delicacies, she still said 'That was impressive.' When I finished. I begrudgingly shared the Salt n Pepper Chicken Fries with her, which were delicious, as they have been every other time I've ordered them. The Duck Bao Buns were fun to eat and also incredibly tasty, and added a nice different taste after the burger. Can't wait to go again. Have recommended to many, many people. Keep up the good work.

Went for my son’s 9th birthday yesterday 20th. Food was amazing we didn’t know what to have as it all sounded amazing so we ordered loads of nibbles and then the salt and pepper chicken fries to share. Food was amazing those bou buns were perfect. The hash browns were so crispy too. The kids loved their burgers and chicken strips. Great choice of drinks and cocktails. Can’t forget to mention the decor that art work upstairs is worth the visit alone. Will go back 100% guaranteed. Staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough to help make my son’s birthday special for him. The chef even brought out an extra piece of cake that wasn’t on the menus yet. Artic roll and we were all fighting for a taste.

Wow! Burgers are the best ever. I have had deliveries from Lockdown Burger but this weekend we took advantage of the new dine-in option on Market Street. Service was so great and of course the burger and chips were straight out of the kitchen - delicious! Our server was brand new and I must have driven him crazy with my questions, but he was very patient and went away to find out whatever he couldn't answer. Decor is good and atmosphere is very welcoming -even though we were upstairs which was not at all busy. Looking forward to my next Lockdown meal!

I heard Lockdown burger were opening their own restaurant a while back and have been eagerly anticipating it. Boy! I wasn't disappointed. The food arrived promptly delivered by the freindly helpful, couldn't do enough for us Honey. I'm no food critic but the black and blue burger I ordered was mouthwateringly scrumptious. Wouldn't normally get a dessert but I was so impressed with the main that I had to see what else emerged from the kitchen. Anyway, I had the "special" sticky toffee pudding and I nearly cried with delight. Now I have to keep going back to work my way through everything on the menu. Generous portions, freindly staff, nice surroundings, well stocked bar. Good luck to these guys, they've brought something unique Chorley that I feel sure people will travel from afar to enjoy.

WOW, What an amazing meal, Was seated by Holly, very polite, professional and friendly, Great choice of food and great drinks menu...Great atmosphere. The Salt and Pepper Hashbrowns are a must, they where so good. The food came piping hot and was all freshly made....The transformation on your new restaurant is amazing. You can certainly tell the hard work that has gone into the place from the team....May you all have the great success that you all deserve....

Was at the soft launch of the new restaurant last night, top tier service from Holly upstairs. Food was pipping hot, tasty and the atmosphere was brilliant.

Finally! Having first tasted these awesome burgers during lockdown they have never left my memory. Nothing else has come close to how epic and tasty these burgers are. To experience it again in their new establishment has been such a pleasant experience. If you want next level burgers then this is the place to go. The flavours and combinations are out of this world and work so well. (Please bring back the chief wiggum burger). My wife, son and I enjoyed sharing the mac and cheese, PB&J and the LFC burger. Upgrading to the loaded fries is a must and highly recommended. Great value and great food! Will be back again and again

A Saturday night takeaway trying Lockdown for the first time and it was delish! Trust me, this isn’t your average takeaway burger, it was packed full of filling and the flavours went together perfectly - got to be one of the best places in Lancashire for a burger 🍔 I can’t wait to try their new location! 🍴What we had🍴 Lockdown burger Curry fries Salt & pepper hash browns Mac & cheese

What a fall from grace. Once the best takeaway Chorley had to offer, they’ve now changed the best items on the menu to be much more like everywhere else and what a bad change. Onion rings going from crispy to bready, curry salt and pepper chicken had barely any curry, the curry wasn’t good, and the chicken batter is much worse than it was. Smaller pieces of meat on the burgers, more doughy buns, but WOW they scorch there names it it now ooo wow give me a break. Upset at the direction this place has taken especially for the prices they charge. Hope the changes get reverted

Placed an order, it took over an hour to be delivered, as they were short of drivers. It arrived luke warm, so quite disappointed. We have ordered from here many times and usually it been really good.

First time of trying lockdown burger after a friend recommended it..it is absolutely amazing 👏 😋 me and my boyfriend had the lockdown burger, the lockbox,sweetcorn ribs and nachos it's mine and everything was faultless, loads of flavour and super fresh. Dead generous portion sizes and fab customer service makes it a 10/10. Deffo be back soon and I advise you to try it,you won't regret it 🤤

Our favourite place to eat in Chorley since the day it opened! We would usually be sat outside the cricket club in the sun eating, but with winter drawing in we decided to order a delivery. I would highly recommend the Day Mught deal, such good value for money considering the amount of food you get, and the quality! Everything was piping hot when it got to us, and as always everything was super fresh and you can tell they use the best ingredients. I also suffer with a sever nut allergy, and the guys at Lockdown Burger as always 100% on it, and there is never any worry and they are always happy to accommodate! If you haven’t tried this place you really need to, the best takeaway in Chorley by far and a great place to eat outside in the sun with a nice cold pint during the summer months! Thanks guys, thoroughly enjoyed as always! 🫶🏼

Amazing place to eat the food is out of this world. I travel about 20 miles every month or so as a treat from accrington to eat here and it's absolutely worth it. I'd travel further. Can't recommend it enough. The staff and owner are fantastic! They are super friendly and so accomodating. The passion really shows in their dishes. Deserves more stars if I could give it. Thanks 😊

I've had a number of meals from lockdown burger now and can say I have thoroughly enjoyed all of them! The food is always spot on and quality, you can tell they care about the food they are putting out. Always a good atmosphere with the bar and the cricket on, can't recommend enough!

Ordered 20 meals for a Friday lunch at work and everything was amazing. There was a slight hiccup but was resolved very quickly and even got a sweet treat complimentary! It was very good and well received in the office. Thank you so much! Will definitely be coming back!

The best vegan burgers! Nowhere comes close to these guys, on a par if not higher than city restaurants. Really big portion sizes and the fries are delicious as well.

The burger I had was so tasty and I accidentally ordered the curry fries (didn’t have my glasses on and thought it said curly fries) but they were so moreish. I also had the Biscoff cheesecake which was just the perfect way to round off my meal. I ordered it to be delivered and it was very quick. Very impressed.

Lockdown burger is becoming our weekly guilty pleasure. We have a split household - I love the classic burger, my daughter loves the salt and pepper chicken fries. Always delivered piping hot and usually earlier than scheduled - and the delivery driver Stewart is lovely

Just had an excellent meal from Lockdown Burger. I don’t know how I’ve never heard of these guys. They’re located at Chorley Cricket Club, 3 nights a week. Seriously worth a try, great quality smash burgers sourced from local businesses. Looks like it’s run by 3 local lads who are clearly passionate about offering great quality food and friendly service. We had the Classic Burger, the PB+J Burger, fries and onion rings. Every item top notch, I particularly liked the PB + J Burger and will 100% go back for that and to try the rest of the menu. Definitely worth putting on your list to try if you haven’t already. Thanks lads, food was bloody brilliant and the PB + J….fantastic!

After following their Facebook for quite a long time tonight was finally the night to give them a go. WOW just wow good was amazing the lockdown burger was a big heap of deliciousness, fries lovely & seasoned. We foolishly ordered a side of mac & cheese which we didn't have room for but we did try it & that was superb too. Will definitely be visiting again.

The Sunday lunch is amazing, arrived really hot and right on the time we requested, definitely be buying again.

What can i say about this place? Ive been coming to Lockdown Burger from what i beleive was very early on from their beginning, and now its become my girlfriends and myselfs weekend treat ever since. Genuinely never been sold anything that hasnt tasted simply amazing, the weekly burger creations have always been spot on and simply tasty. Never in my life would i have ever thought to have peanut butter and jam on a burger with bacon and cheese....but yet here we are and i can openly say its been top spot for my favourite burger ive ever had. These guys are friendly, passionate, honest and will not put something on the menu if them, as chefs, dont approve. If you want a fresh, tasty and well made burger, then honestly...look no further. I promise you, you wont be dissapointed. Oh and the onion rings are a must.
