This was our second time visiting this restaurant, the food is stunning, the starters had come out rather quickly, the mains took a little longer however everything especially the steak was cooked to perfection *compliments to the chef* I must say that the host, Grant, was spectacular at his job, had outstanding people skills and had even told the kitchen that it was my partner’s birthday the next day, so they had written a happy birthday on his dessert which was a nice touch. The reason for not leaving the restaurant 5 stars , is that the waiter who initially was serving our table, did not ask what we had wanted to order for dessert therefore after main course , we were sat around for a little while just waiting and had to ask another server to order dessert as the initial server was no where to be seen.

Our experience here was really pleasant. Although the place looks a bit dated to some people, I think it gives a more timeless atsmosphere. I do feel as though the toilets could have some TLC but the restaurant felt like a cosy and classic Parisan restaurant thats been around for years. The menu was a bit basic but that doesnt take away from the fact that the food tasted perfect. We ordered the smoked salmon for starters, the beef bourguignon and the rump steak with onion rings for mains. The treacle tart and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. All quite basic dishes that you can make at home but it was comforting and tasted perfect so you can't really go wrong here! The one thing that wasn't basic were the caribbean punch's that we ordered - they were absolutely fabulous! The staff were also very attentive and welcoming. We felt that the service was so fast. We got our drinks and both went to the toilet at different times and there you have it, our starters were already on the table. Then it wasn't long before our mains and desserts too! I would love to come back for the beef bourguignon but again, the menu is a bit basic so I wouldn't come rushing back. It is a lovely place, the prices are great and I would recommend it.

Had a Virgin Experience meal and booked pretty last minute. Seen some negative reviews about add ons - and while these are true, it's also very clearly identified. Starters did come out quick, but they were both meant to be cold starters so I would expect this. We had the Prawn Cocktail (+£2) and the Ham Hock terrine. Served as described, the Ham Hock had a coleslaw type dressing on it, but no bread as this was extra and not something we wanted anyway. Tasty food, nicely presented. Mains were Corn Fed Chicken, which came with mash and red cabbage. Chicken was cooked nicely, it had a small protruding bone (by design!) but otherwise it was a filleted breast. My steak came with a sauce included. I added Fries (+£6.50). Both dishes were nice. Steaked cooked well - medium rare. I think there was meant to be a mushroom with the steak but that wasn't on the plate but no great hassle. Puddings again were nice, sticky toffee pudding with an ice cream scoop. We also had a cheese dish which consisted of a slice of blue cheese, slice of plain cheese and slice of a fruit bread! Cocktail drinks were OK, nothing spectacular. Porn star martini was +£4. Service was really good, very busy restaurant with good atmosphere. The service charge was a little heavy at £9 - we were only in the restaurant for just over an hour?

It exceeded my expectations. I got a gift voucher from a friend. Service was excellent. Good atmosphere. Although the restaurant was very busy, it was well managed. Timing was perfect. Food was good. Overpriced and hugely underwhelming. Good service, but the restaurant has been sadly neglected. Huge profits made through the famous name clearly hasn't been invested back into the business. As for the toilets, they were grubby and shabby. Zero quality for maximum profit.

Despite an array of negative comments about the food, I enjoyed my meal and everyone I was with, also did. We also had a voucher gifted to us, like the many others who have left reviews, we were a table of 4.. 2 had the voucher and the other 2 paid for their dinner. The atmosphere was great, from the moment we walked in, being met with huge smiles and jokes by the host. The service wasn't on par with what the establishment should be, but it was decent enough. My only gripe was the W/C - which wasn't well maintained, or clean.

Not impressed at all. The food was completely tasteless, both mine and my partners. The fish cake I had wasn't even up to the standard of my local chippy, far too much spinach, the beetroot starter had no flavour at all, the chocolate mousse desert was OK but could easily have been shop bought. My partners food was also tasteless and comments the only good thing was the red cabbage. Originally our dinner table was sat next to the bar which was freezing due to the air-conditioning so we asked to move, ridiculous to think anyone could sit there. Service was very slow and not consistent. Very overpriced for what we got. Definitely would not recommend!

Absolutely disgusting. From the moment you arrive, two young girls who take your coat as you enter are disgruntled to be there and make it very clear that is the case. Our waitress was absolutely lovely but a horrible man in his 50s was being horrible to her infront of us (appears to be her manager?). It is a quiet restaurant and he is watching the staff like a hawk. It makes for a very uncomfortable experience. Another man (waiter?) was trying to upsell us a T-bone steak, which we did not want. They seemed annoyed when they could not squeeze any more money out of us. Perhaps work on your customer service and the food quality you provide. We will never ever be returning. A completely disappointing experience and never experienced anything so dire in all my years of dining.

Came here as part of a red letter days voucher, would not have come otherwise to be honest. The atmosphere is not great, outdated and not what you’d expect for a london steakhouse. The first thing we noticed is that the only thing that is included in terms of main is an 8oz steak, no sides, just the steak. Any side orders, such as chips were an extortionate £8.50!!! London is expensive but £8.50 is incredibly excessively priced, very obviously a money grab. We were wise to the “Do you want any water?” scam (it’s £6.50 for tap water in a bottle) so watch out for that if you didn’t already know. Our starters came out within 2 minutes which is unsettling as they’d obviously been sitting out the back for a while pre-made. The prawn cocktail starter was mushy, and the prawns dry, further confirming my suspicions that they’d been sat out ready for a while. The steak’s themselves weren’t rested enough so the plate was swimming in oil and ‘blood’ which is very unappetising… and you needed a chainsaw to cut through the steak. I’ve been to a miller & carter and had a better steak put it that way. The dessert was clearly microwaved as it came out in a matter of minutes, and the sticky toffee pudding was dry and lukewarm. We had a mouthful of champagne included, and if you wanted any other drinks cocktails were £16.50 each!! Which again is extortionate pricing considering they weren’t the classic cocktails and rather vodka and fruit juice mixed with lemonade. Service was okay, took the longest to get the bill! Even with a voucher there are hidden fees, a £1.50 cover charge per person and 9.5% service charge. We ended up spending £46.50 ontop of the voucher which you really don’t expect considering the fact the voucher is meant to pay for the meal (obviously excluding extra drinks). If you are coming here without a voucher, don’t. and if you are considering buying a voucher, don’t! Much better steak restaurants in London for the same price if not lower in some aspects. This place honestly makes chain steakhouses look michelin star. Do not recommend.

Lovely restaurant - steak was ordered medium rare - came out medium well. Not sure how you overcook a steak that much when you’re a…steakhouse. Tough and overdone. Staff were inexperienced and nowhere near the standard for the type (and price) of the restaurant - out serve leaned on our table as we ordered, didn’t understand a basic cocktail like a cosmopolitan, or what it meant to specify the vodka preference (thought we had changed our mind and wanted a straight shot of vodka). Not a steakhouse we would ever go back to. Yikes!

If your using a voucher for "View from The Shard & Three Course Dining with Cocktail at Marco Pierre White's London Steakhouse Company" just be careful of all the hidden charges in your bill! The 9.5% isn't hidden, does state on the menu and is removable from the bill but it still shouldn't be added on in the first place! The 2nd hidden charged is the cover charge per person. Only a few quid but still another hidden charged! If they ask you if you would like water for the table, it's not free! Staff should of said this in the first place! £6.50 for some water! I'm surprised they didn't charged for hanging your coat up for you! Food was nice! £8.50 for small bowl of chips is abit rich even for London prices! Cocktails was pretty decent too! Wouldn't go back any time soon but still worth a visit!

However, we did feel a bit rushed towards the end of our meal. I had specifically asked about the 10:30 pm seating and was assured we wouldn't be hurried, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Visited for lunch having been given a Marco Pierre White dining experience. Super friendly and attentive staff and very helpful when booking. Nice menu with plenty of additions if you wanted extras to accompany your meal. Very nice cocktails were included as well. We enjoyed the food it was all fresh and hot. Particularly enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding! Unfortunately I thought there was a bit of a sting in the tail when we got the final bill, there was an additional fee of £6 added which when questioned was told it was the fee between the supplier of our voucher and the restaurant - I thought this was a little unfair and felt that cost should have been absorbed or added into the cost of the original experience. Only £6 but unexpected - so final bill of £38 for two small red cabbage - a crazy £8.50 each, £4.00 extra for one of the deserts, the rest for a tip/service charge - which I had no problem with for the service as the waiting staff were very nice. We had a nice time although did feel a little disgruntled at the end, but it’s London I guess.

I bought a voucher through Virgin for a 5-course meal. The food was good, but the menu needs an extra choice. Some steak meals come with no sides. I purchased a voucher for a five course meal with cocktail from Virgin experiences for my wife's birthday. I can safely say I will be thinking twice about doing that again and we will never be visiting this restaurant again. It was not a nice relaxing experience with great food as advertised. I guess alarm bells were ringing when we booked our table as there was an admin charge (rip off) this is in addition to the cover and service charges applied on the day! I could forgive the additional charges (even a salad for the steak) if the service and food were any good. The starter cocktail along with the 1st and 2nd courses all served together. In all we were rushed through (so another wallet can be emptied after) our 5 courses in less than an hour. I truly believe I've experienced slower service at Macdonald's and the foods got more flavour; my wife steak was tough and very hard to cut let alone chew! The next day we visited Touro Prime, in Wardour St, Soho. All I can say is WOW, far better service, food, wine, atmosphere, value, the whole experience!

Now you may think this is going to be a lovely, fancy restaurant but don’t let this fool you! I came here using a gift voucher. You’d think with a gift voucher for a 3 course meal you’d have everything you need, especially for something so fancy but having to pay £50 EXTRA for booking a table, chips? And a service charge. Now, onto the food. This was appalling. I ordered the 8oz rump steak as it’s the only one your allowed with the voucher and I ask for it well done. They bring me the singular steak (which you have to pay for anything else with it) and it’s pink…not well done! Ok so maybe they just had a little hiccup, moving onto the chips. Shocking! Once again, a fancy restaurant known for its delicious food and I still get soggy chips? Sort it out. Now desert. You get cutlery with desert, dirty cutlery. Yes, dirty. My spoons were covered with left over sticky toffee sponge from the person before me. Now I ask for the bill after my disaster of a meal and guess what! They give me the wrong bill. Is it really that hard guys? Like seriously? I do not recommend this restaurant at all, it’s over priced for what you are getting and trust me, the service isn’t worth it. Thank you.

The food was delicious (with portion size perfect to feel you'd eaten enough at the end of the 3 courses. And my dessert was beautifully flourished with birthday greetings), the waiting staff were attentive without being annoying, and the ambiance was most pleasant (except for the music and it's volume). Therefore, overall can happily recommend this venue (109-117, Middlesex St.), especially as I am a fussy eater who prefers to cook for herself.

Oh dear - what an embarrassment . Cant fault the serice but oh my days, when its all about the food this was awful to say the least. We had booked the '5 Course and Cocktail for Two' - 1st and 2nd course were bought out together - so we already felt rushed and course 2, 'the bettroot and goats cheese salad' was 6 slices of beetroot (possibly out of a jar) and a teeny tiny cube of goats cheese that could have been eaten with a cocktail stick. Course 3, the ham hock terrine was basically the taste (and look) of spam and then we move onto the main - we both went for steak, which bearing in mind this is a Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, was surely a safe bet ........nope. Both cuts were so chewy, very difficult to cut and absolutely tasteless. The other thing to mention is with regards the sides as the steak came with absolutely nothing else. All sides are an eye-watering £8.50 each. I went for chips which were honestly the best thing I had eaten all evening. My partner went for creamed potatoes which were stone cold and no bigger than 2 spoonfuls in size .......FOR £8.50!!!!! Seriously! When we mentioned this, the staff apologised and did offer to try again but by that time we had lost our appettite. By way of apology we were offerred a glass of champage each which was nice but the better thing to do would have been for them to just charge us for the wine and not the food. Anyway, lesson learnt and happy to spead the news that this is yet another eatery in London that charges stupid prices for awful food. Avoid!

Service was a little rushed for us for a 2015 sitting. I guess in Central London demand is greater for tables and even with a late booking they can turn the table. All in all, it was OK, but plenty of options in the area so unlikely to return.

Read until the end.... Pleasantly surprised with this experience today, after getting a voucher and reading some of the reviews. The service was amazing, attentive and the waiters were all really accomodating. Food was good, the steak could use a little more seasoning but for the value of the voucher I cannot complain. A few people on here moaning about the price of sides but most people were eating using an experience voucher, so the business has to make money somewhere!! I didn't mind paying £8.50 as altogether the meal was 1/3 of what you'd pay had you bought the entire meal. The beef borginion was the highlight along with the lemon posset. A final mention to the amazing male waiter that saved a woman's life today - she unfortunately was choking for quite some time and he quickly administered the heimlich manoeuvre until she was okay again. It was a super worrying situation to see unfold however the staff did brilliantly and a testament to wait staff having to wear many different hats and go the extra mile. The manager came that we spoke to before about the allergy and desserts came over after and asked if i’m still alive. Luckily my allergy isn’t life threatening however these situations should be dealt with differently and more seriously as some people arnt as lucky with the effects of allergies.

Had a Red Letter Day voucher as a Christmas Gift and used it up last weekend. Having read the reviews I always have an open mind and judge the experience on my own merits . The greeting etc was fine and our table was offered straight away , and the wine waiter offered us water to start which we declined but he still gave it too us ? We chose the Red house wine, the looked at the menu , at no time was we informed that out voucher might only offer us a 3 course meal But our party decided to go off the set menu and realised that that’s where you need to have a healthy bank balance. Everything on the menu was separated , even chips ! We all opted for Steak , 2 Ribeyes , 2 Sirloins , 4 chips 2 onion rings and one portebello mushrooms . My wife prefers her steak well done , and I noticed the meat was still on the bone (why ). She had trouble cutting the meat , and on request the Steak including my Daughters Sirloin had to go back to the kitchen to be cut up into edible pieces . I used to be a Chef and never in the years I did it was a sirloin steak cooked and serve on the bone . Maybe this is there way to give the impression to make it look larger . So 4 Steak & Chips with a bottle of Red came to £293 , including the original 2 vouchers . Avoid this Restaurant especially if you have a Red Letter voucher , it just sucks you in to a meal that is vastly overpriced and uses Marco Pierre Whites reputation as its standard .

Dishonest restaurant that doesn’t impress. I was gifted a groupon voucher for a 3 course meal with a cocktail. I followed the link online to book a slot & then received an email to say that the value of the voucher was £53. As I didn’t buy the voucher myself, I was a bit confused but didn’t query it as I assumed I would get what the voucher was for (as always is the case!!) I arrived at the restaurant with my partner to celebrate our anniversary and I asked about the voucher. The manager told us that we couldn’t have the 3 course meal as we needed to pay an extra £10 pp in advance and pre book this. I explained that at no point during the booking process was this explained or written down anywhere, and that I happily would have done so if I had known. He dismissed my argument and said it was restaurant policy. We ended ordering from the a la carte menu and spent over £150. £53 was then deducted but there was really no point of a ‘voucher’. My advice is read the t&c’s and confirm the menu prior, as they try to trick you into paying full price. Food was nice but overall experience was very poor. It ruined our anniversary date, so I wouldn’t recommend or come back. There are similar restaurants in London with excellent service so don’t bother here.

Used Virgin experience voucher (which seems a common theme), lovely food and friendly staff. What let it down was we did feel very rushed and finished 3 courses within 45 minutes, which was a consequence of all courses being brought out rather quickly - with no time to rest. Bill was brought within 1 minute of saying we didn’t want a coffee (without out asking for it). Be prepared for the deposit you put to secure the table to be a cost not a reduction.

Food was average at best with a hefty price tag for what you get. I think the staff think it’s a better venue than it is, as our waiter was very stuck up his own behind. I got a red letter day for my girlfriend where we visited the shard and had dinner here. The staff at the shard were a lot more friendly and welcoming. Overall a very disappointing visit to the steak house, the attitude of the staff left us with a bad taste in our mouths after what was a great day in London. Wouldn’t advise people to go here as there are so many great restaurants in the area that aren’t dark and dingy little holes that have great staff with great customer service.

We got a voucher from family. Here is why I would not recommend going: - we had to pay 20£ just to BOOK. This was not taken off the bill. If you want to book evenings or weekends you need to pay £10 pp, non redeemable. - almost everything was on supplement. All the steaks are not included and most of the menu they give you isn’t neither. - wine is at an extortionate price. £50 for a bootle that actually is £15?? We had to pay on top of £87 + £20 for food that wasn’t actually good. The total bill was overall £200. This was not worth it. There are better places you can go. Just a cash grab. Only positive is that it is a nice place.

The food was pretty basic and way overpriced for the quality. The cheaper bottle of wine was £44 and was actually left behind. We had a voucher as a wedding gift and topped it up on booking, we still left with a bill just under £100 for a basic 3 course meal with a bottle of wine. Steak was overcooked, but the sides were very tasty. I had a goats cheese starter, which was actually a plate of beetroot with a specle of goat cheese. It's my go-to starter, so I have had it in many places. I was disappointed. Overall, disappointing.

Had a buyagift voucher which we were given for xmas last year. They were attentive when i needed to amend the booking via email but this was due to the website link not functioning. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and our coats were taken. We were seated prompty and the service was fast, We had a 3 course meal and were in and out within an hour. We were offered water but not told it would be charged at £6.50. The starters were great. We had the Prawn Cocktail and the Salmon Blinis. We opted to pay the supplement for the 10oz(£17) and 14oz(£20) ribeyes - Huge regret! I requested medium rare and it came out almost Blue. I'm not too fussy so i didn't complain but it meant most of the steak was fatty and chewy, which was a real shame considering that was supposed to be the star of the show and can be cooked better at home. The fries and the mash were nice but were nothing special and not worth £8.50 each. The desserts were good too, we had the Treacle tart and Lemon Posset. The bill came to £175 minus the £55 for the voucher so we ended up spending £120 which all in all, could've certainly been spent elsewhere and have got much much better value for money. Overall a 4star review is maybe a little generous as i doubt we'll return but we left feeling fairly satisfied and did mostly enjoy the meal and experience that came with it. If you're bringing a voucher. Stick to the meals that don't have supplements, they'll provide much better value.

Lovely food and excellent service. However it’s let down by a cover charge of £1-50 each plus side orders priced at £8-50. We had a £65 buy a gift voucher and we paid the supplement and had ribeye plus some more bread and a small side salad. So we had to pay an an additional £60. We worked it out and it’s actually cheaper to get a buyagift voucher and pay extra than to pay for the items on the menu itself ! . Had a lovely evening though and would go back. The ribeye was lovely and so were the fries. The sticky toffee pudding is delicious as well ! All in all a good experience.

This is an odd restaurant, it’s trying to be very high end but the waitstaff is not up to it and the food is very medium. Everything the bad reviews says is true, the cocktails have no alcohol in them, the steak was undercooked and the sides are £8.50 each for a small portion of fries and mash. It’s not good value. Wouldn’t recommend

Went here with a voucher from Virgin experience expecting for the meal to have already been paid for. Not included in the price of the gift is the service charge, plus a per person cover charge. Also sides for mains are not included. As a gift, it seems a bit of a con. Food was fine, service was good, but I marked down the atmosphere as I could hear others complain about the extra charge con.

My son bought me a "gift" voucher for a dine for 2 experience. The service at the restaurant was exceptional. The ambience and atmosphere was very comfortable. The three courses we chose were absolutely delicious. I would comment that the steak was a little tougher than I like, but still tasted good. The cocktails are a little expensive but generally the going rate for London dinning. The artwork was commical. Would highly recommend, especially as a gift/dining experience.

We had a late lunch, and overall the experience was positive. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely, but in my opinion the tables are to close to each other. The waiters were struggling to get around the table next to us. The dishes aren't very special, for example, my beetroot with goat cheese, because I hardly had some cheese on the plate. My husband had mackerel patè, and hardly there was was any mackerel in the mix. We were expecting better presentation and fair portions. The rump steak was tender and cooked perfectly. The potatoe croquettes were very nice. The sticky toffee pudding was tasty and the cheese with the fruit cake was okay, even though I preferred some crackers with it.

Left feeling A bit scammed. Parents bought us a voucher for a 3 course meal. Waiter told us one side each is included however when bill came, charged for all sides. The Main came with no sides (just a plate with a steak on it and that's it). We therefore added a couple of sides and a bottle of still water and we left paying £105 bill. Sorry but a main course should have something on the plate with the meat. Whoever is in charge needs to rethink. Wouldn't return

Very friendly welcome, Dan our waiter was fantastic 👏, service was fast and all food was super delicious 😋. Will definitely be coming back! All the staff were very attentive and cleared the tables fast. Only thing is the drinks are expensive. The other half had a malibu and lemonade and that cost £14.50 and a half a pint was £6.50. Apart from that fantastic. So we returned to the lovely LSH last night for my birthday meal and once again fantastic service and fantastic staff especially José who kept his eye on everything!

Overall awful experience, had the virgin voucher like many others, still ended up spending over £100 for 2, in my opinion there are other restaurants which out-do this without the voucher being applied. Service charge added to the full lot, for the benefit of a waiter fleming up when walking past the table. Offered a glass of champagne if I returned, as mentioned, there are a lot more restaurants in london offering better value and overall experience.

Used a Red letter days voucher and had a set menu. Food was good but no potato or veg were included with the steak and each side cost an extra £8.50. They also add £1.50 cover charge per person to your bill, which seems unnecessary.

We were given a virgin 5 course menu voucher as a gift for this restaurant, after reading some of the reviews I was a little concerned, however our experience was very good, the staff were welcoming and attentive, the food was cooked very well, well presented and tasty, our waiter, Amadeus was extremely professional and friendly, overall a pleasant meal.

Just wanted to show our huge gratitude to tonight’s manager Jose who saved our evening following the discovery that I had not fully completed the booking process of my voucher from Buyagift!! Jose kindly sorted this out using the voucher code and pin which I’d thankfully brought with me and we were then swiftly seated to enjoy our sumptuous 3 course meal with a seasonal cocktail. Throughout our meal, Jose checked in on us, infact we watched him providing attentive service throughout the restaurant. Gratitude also to our waitress Amanda who was very friendly and cheerful despite us beginning our dining experience at nearly 10pm!! So lovely to dine in such a welcoming restaurant, thank you very much and we hope to visit again soon!!

We booked this as we received a virgin experience, so had the 5 course set menu, the staff were great but should be as £20 service charge automatically added to bill!! The food was OK, starters fine, i asked for the steak medium rare but came out medium, desert did not blow my socks off either. All just OK, `Be warned everything is extra, eg water with the meal, chips with the steak!! We wanted it to be special so did have what we wanted. Expect a meal for 2 with 2 sides and a couple of drinks each £200

Underwhelming. Basement room, very noisy, staff aloof or worse, felt we were being fleeced on everything. Prawn cocktail meagre on prawns, didn’t taste of much, mackerel pate average, fishcake boring, steak ok. Sides expensive and disappointing. Waitress confirmed treacle tart would come with custard but it didn’t. Treacle tart was too sweet and had soggy pastry underneath. Coffees were lukewarm. Overall, certainly didn’t meet expectations or restaurant’s claims. Didn’t feel welcomed or looked after. Certainly not value for money.

SW3 cocktail to start was really good, smoked salmon was excellent but blinis tasted shop bought. Beetroot was very good but a cold, pea-sized piece of goats cheese was a surprise! Mackerel pate delicious but ham hock terrine seriously oversalted. Steaks were beautiful and well presented although supplements were a bit heavy. Lovely to see that they were from my local butcher Aubrey Allen. Maybe to serve the steaks with some kind of garnish as all side orders at £7.50 each would certainly add up. Both desserts were excellent and we sampled each others choices throughout the meal. The Portuguese wine Arca Nova Branco complimented the meal perfectly. The venue was really lovely and all the waiting and bar staff were exemplary. Zlatica was the perfect combination of knowledgeable and friendly in equal measure. We had a truly delightful afternoon at London Steakhouse and hope to return.

We were dining on a voucher we were gifted by our close friends and chose to use it for our anniversary. It felt very slow from when we arrived to being asked for drinks. We had arrived 10mins early and were told to wait at the bar and get a drink, however there was no one to serve us a drink at the bar. We were then shown to our table and still took sometime to be asked for a drink. The meal was fine, we’d asked for our steak to be medium rare, personally it was medium to well. It all tasted nice, the pudding was nice too.

Had the cocktails and 3 course menu. The food was good, nothing exactly exceptional but nothing bad either. My daughter and I both enjoyed our mains. I had the rib eye, and it was cooked as requested. I've seen people raving about the sticky toffee pudding, which we both had and enjoyed, but no offence, it's done so much better up in the Lake District where we live.

For me this is what a pub should be. It's got character from a bygone age and is what I imagine a Victorian pub would be like. Staff are friendly and welcoming and the selection of beers and ales is good. Traditional Sam Smiths finest from a well kept cellar jostle for position with the latest in vogue drinks from the likes of Brewdog. Needless to say the Sam Smiths is superb. Visited at its midday opening and by 1pm the pub was filling with diners including a works Christmas party who gave the whole place a great Festive feel - my day being made when I was lucky enough to get a Christmas hug from a very attractive lady. I throughly recommend The Windsor Castle but don't expect to receive hugs LOL

I went to your Gresham street branch on a Tuesday night with 2 of my friends. There were barely any people in the venue! We got our first round quite fast. When I went to order our second, I ordered 2 Asahi and a double Baileys. When the bartender free poured my drink I asked him if it is a double and he said yes, to which I asked him if it is a 100ml or 50ml, as usually Baileys is served as 50ml for single and 100ml for a double! Another bartender said double is always 50ml and has never heard of it being 100ml. I asked him to check with his manager and he said "I will only check because I am curious" which was weird but ok.... after checking with the manager, he said it's 50ml, to which I said it's fine and was about to pay. The first bartender then laughed in my face (not a giggle) a full blown belly laugh, to which after told "no need to laugh about it" he said " it's ok, it's ok... no worries"! I have managed bars for 10 years and this is the first time anyone has laughed in my face, especially when not knowing standered serve for bevarages... Manageress was alright... came ready for an argument however still listened and tried to sort the situation! Overall, was an alwful experience and I left slightly after, as I wasn't feeling like drinking in this environment.

Spacious venue, decent breakfast menu choice. I had the buckwheat pancakes which were good, yet the vegan coconut yogurt was slightly sickly after a while
