A vibrant and lively atmosphere both at lunchtime and in the evenings. Welcoming staff, a decent drinks menu with some authentic Spanish beers, wines and sherry’s and a very tasty selection of tapas that caters for meat eaters, veggies and vegans. Amazing selection and choice of food, with everything expertly prepared and cooked with passion and care. Tapas at it’s best and cannot wait to return for another banquet of taste sensations. Highly recommended.

Recommended by friends and didn't disappoint. Tried to book online but full so stopped by at lunchtime and they fitted us in by sitting us at the bar which actually turned out to be the best place for atmosphere and being part of the experience.

My friends and I went there for dinner as our hotel was not far from there. The food was excellent and we enjoyed every dish we ordered. Service was a bit slow but staff were friendly and obliging. Tapas was way better than any we have tasted in London.

We came here last night for an anniversary meal. Was our first time visiting. Really enjoyed it. Friendly staff, amazing food which came out quickly. Probably the best olives we've had! All the dishes were delicious, we even squeezed in a pudding.... highly recommend the chocolate & coffee brownie! Yum! Will definitely be returning.

Early Saturday evening and first time in Los Gatos. Warm welcome and friendly service. Food obviously Tapas portions and great variety of menu. Service was prompt and food was delicious. Recommend for grazing meal with friends so you can share multiple dishes. Prices are good and seating arrangements are comfortable.

Food and atmosphere was four star, when dinning with friends on a busy Saturday evening, BUT became a five star because of Molly our waitress. She was attentive without being imposing, and interesting when talking about her aims and aspirations. Poor food, it is said, can sometimes be excused when service is so good, on this occasion, we had both! Well done and thank you Molly.

A let down of a meal. Visited on a saturday night and our section wasn't completely full, empty tables near us, the waiter was atentive when we arrived but then we were forgotten, we ordered our initial drinks and tapas items. But then we were ignored. After we ate no one came back asking if we wanted more drinks (we did as food was very salty), no one came to take our dessert order or offer us a dessert menu, after 20 minutes we gave up and went to the bar to pay for the meal and went elsewhere for dessert and drinks. Will not be returning.

Hospitality and staff were lovely however food tasted microwaved or from frozen - didn’t taste fresh at all! Three of us ordered meatballs and everyone left them because of how chewy and flavourless they were. Calamari was chewy and did not taste fresh at all. Shame the quality of food has gone down so much as remember it being much nicer a few years ago. It all felt like overpriced, microwave frozen food.

It has been a while since we have visited Los Gatos, certainly before their new ownership and extension were completed. We were somewhat disappointed in our most recent visit. The restaurant lacked the ‘charm and character’ which the previously smaller venue had maintained. The service was slow, with over 45 minutes waited for additional tapas dishes to arrive (some guests were considering pudding at this point!!). The dishes were underwhelming from previous experiences - mussels were over salted with the accompanying sauce too heavy and overwhelming, gambas and mushrooms were only lukewarm when arriving straight from the kitchen. I am not in a rush to return and think we will try Tapas Del Mundo round the corner next time…

First time here and was very enjoyable. Went on a Monday night, but the restaurant was still very busy. Staff were very helpful and polite, with he food coming out are regular intervals. The Higaditos al Oloroso (pan fried chicken livers) was beautiful and we rounded the evening off with a Bocado Dulce con Café Solo. They have a variety of wines to accompany the food. Will defiantly be coming back.

Seriously disappointing experience. Came here for a birthday and after seeing the reviews thought we were going to have a great time. Service was very slow and there were multiple rude staff members. Food was very meh, most the dishes were under seasoned, patatas bravas were hard and the sauce was horrible, the duck slices were also terrible, they were left uneaten and the table next to us did the same. Paella tasted of nothing, and the meatballs were so dry. We liked the aubergine chips, sourdough and the prawns were okay but that’s the only praise I can give. Won’t be returning.

What a delicious meal! Not just the food and drink made this visit special, the service was fantastic! They were always there when you needed them but not too much that they were consistently coming over to you. We went with family and couldn't grumble about anything. We will be back soon. One of swindons top restaurants in my opinion. Keep up the great work!

Service really let it down, the staff seemed uninterested and some seemed to be ignoring people deliberately. Food was ok but the slow and poor level of service doesn’t make me want to return.

On a rainy, dark and cold Monday night in October my son chose this restaurant based on previous reviews and it was a triumph! Swindon was a stopover for us and we were looking for food and what we got at Los Gatos was so much more! It was friendly and warm, with a great menu of the traditional tapas options plus a lot more. Everything we ordered was delicious especially the croquettes. My son is still talking about this meal 10 days later so I thought I should leave a review… it’s wonderful to find such a great neighbourhood restaurant and it’s not far if you’re staying at the Premier Inn west like we were. Definitely worth venturing beyond the usual out of town options for something immeasurably better.

An excellent meal and great service. We tried 12 tapas dishes plus desserts and the food was wonderful. A special mention for the vegetarian options, Cauliflower with beetroot and the chick peas were wonderful. All round grest dinibg experience and great good 👍

We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch at this restaurant. We pre-booked the paella (which they serve on the first Sunday of the month) which was delicious. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

I love LG. Been going since back in the day of cramming yourself into a bar stool and ending up getting super cosy with other diners at their wonderful Wood Street bar. Since their move it’s not felt the same to me, and I’ve recently visited since the extension. Whilst the food was the same, albeit much cooler in temperature by the time it reached us, the main problem was the noise. We could barely hear ourselves talking. We couldn’t hear the staff when they were taking our orders. It was really dreadful and to be honest we couldn’t wait to leave. It’s such a shame as it’s a lovely setting, but the acoustics need some urgent work. Prices seem to have increased quite steeply across the board as well, with £10 for a medium glass of mid range Rioja seeming quite steep. The service as well; gone are the days of the lovely staff who we had gotten to know quite well, this time we were served by three different staff in on evening, which is fine and they were all perfectly lovey, but again it just isn’t what it was and part of the charm seems to have been most. LG used to be somewhere we’ve always enjoyed visiting but to honest I’m not in a rush to return and if we were to, then it would be during the day when hopefully it’s a little less noisy. It’s less of an experience now and more of just another place to go for food.

What can I say about Los Gatos that hasn't been said before. I've been coming here since it first opened in a tiny little premises on Wood Street when getting a table was academic because there were only three tables and you had to cram in at the bar. Even when they moved round the corner it was famously difficult to get a seat and from a business perspective adding more covers was probably a no-brainer. However, I do think it's fair to say that since the revamp it had this earlier this year it's most definitely a Restaurant. The food and drink haven't changed however and all the old favorites are still available on the menu whether that's gin wines or sherry or the favourite tapas dishes of aubergine chips, meatballs or 'gambas pil pil' (my one niggle would be the patatas bras which were quite dry and now come with sauce on the side rather than on top.) All in all it's still one of the best places to eat in Swindon, but for me some of the magic of the place has gone a little bit.

Family of 6 adults dining at 8 on a Friday night. Our table was ready, but very single dish was delicious! My stepdad was particularly impressed with the octopus and my brother didn’t stop talking about the black pudding dish the whole drive home. Would definitely come back. Also great to have the tap water topped up regularly without asking.

If you are looking for authentic tapas, this is the place to visit. Everything was tasty and the service friendly. I highly recommend chorizo and croquetas.

Needed a restaurant to go to after booking an incorrect restaurant on a Sunday night. Low Gatos came to the rescue and we were so happy! Great service even though we got in last minute, and the food was amazing! Definitely worth a trip out!

Had a lovely meal out with my family - husband and two adult children- the food was superb, especially the paella with chicken . The staff was very friendly and helpful and was impressed with the venue. Will definitely recommend and will be coming again soon.

We first went to Los Gatos when they were in Wood Street with just a few tables and loved it. When they moved round the corner to a bigger venue, we followed and was still excellent. The atmosphere, service and food were second to none. Today was the first time we have been since they have expanded and sorry to say that it has changed so so much. The food is still good. However, whereas before you had 1 or 2 servers, we lost count this evening. The atmosphere has gone from being intimate to the feeling of a chain restaurant/canteen. Before the increase in costs, we used to spend £120-150 for the 2 of us. Tonight our bill was £53 which says it all. I'm sure they will thrive with new clientele and wish them all the best, but we won't be back.

Staff were rude and unhelpful, when we asked for service it took them 5-10 minutes to arrive at our table. Eventually our drinks order came but it was wrong so had to be rectified. It seemed staff didn't want to be there and it came across to the customers. We were really looking forward to having a meal at Los Gatos as we had been a few years before the growth, It is safe to say we were extremely dissatisfied and unlikely to return again.

Me and my family had the best impressions of this restaurant! Hospitable hosts, delicious tapas, beautiful presentation, wide wine list and wonderful dessert. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again.

We couldn't get a table online, so took a chance at calling in and they had a cancellation so we managed to get a table. Really busy restaurant, very popular and I can see why, a really good selection of tapas food. We had the Chorizo and red wine, Mushrooms in a sherry sauce, Cauliflower in panko breadcrumbs served with a mayo, and Spanish black pudding with a quail egg, which came in a stack with peppers in between. They were all cooked perfectly and a huge chunk of fresh sourdough bread. Can see why this place is popular.

As always we had a wonderful evening. Such a great atmosphere, even on a very rainy July Tuesday evening at 6.30pm the place was extremely busy. The food was delicious and the service is always so friendly and excellent. Our favourite restaurant in Swindon by far.

Well not quite back to pre-covid days, but it was lovely to be back at Los Gatos after recent takeaways. The modifications to the layout, with dividers between most tables and reasonable spacing on those at the bar, work well and the staff seem to be on top of their changes.We enjoyed all five dishes, had nice puddings to follow and coffee, with some lovely red wine. A very pleasant return.

We went to Los Gatos for the first time. Excellent social distancing measures. Team worked extremely hard. Food was excellent quality, not as hot as i'd of liked but i think thats due to us ordering all at once, maybe we order as you go next time as the food came very quickly. Specials are excellent. Only slight negative is we felt rushed, although not given a time limit when we booked. Would definitely return.

I’ve found it really difficult to find a decent Tapas restaurant in the U.K. but this one is incredible.

We have missed our trips to Los Gatos and so when the takeaway option was introduced thought we would try it.The online order process worked well and the food arrived quicker than forecast, We had bread and alioli, garlic prawns, hake, mini paella, aubergine chips, croquettes and chocolate pudding.It was all very good and although the atmosphere of LG was missing, it was a reminder of many pleasant meals there.

I returned to Los Gatos for the first time since lockdown and found out 10mins before that it had changed hands. I was thrilled to find that the menu was still the same, food just as good. I used to love the busy, loud and cosy vibe and sitting at the bar but given the circumstances, I loved how they’ve implemented the social distancing measures/ dividers - It looks great! Our waiter was absolutely brilliant, very attentive and quick to resolve an issue with had with the food. My only criticism would be there was no music. We were told it wasn’t working that night but I felt it was a big missing, as music has a massive influence on creating the atmosphere. Hopefully there will be music when we come next!

When my husband and I first moved to Swindon this was the first place we ate out at. When our son was born, this was the first place we ate out at, with him. He was 2 weeks old and when he woke he ended up being passed around diners who offered to entertain him so we could eat. When my daughter was born this was the first place we took her to too. There have also been many visits in between, both on a date night and as a family where both children developed a love of Calamares! As we struggle our way through job loss, furlough, depression and other family issues in these current times we decided to sneak out and treat ourselves to lunch at our Happy Place and once again we feel lifted.The food was sensational. The service exceptional, with the sweetest waiting staff who kept smiling despite their own uncertainty and made us feel welcomed and loved. Thank you, Los Gatos for always being there ♥ ♥

Not open, no furniture inside yet website fully operational with menus and no mention of being closed? Why are you accepting bookings and sending conformations?!? Management level - absolute amateurs.
