Great Carvey, but make sure you book a table ahead of time as it gets really busy at certain times. Leave space for one of their amazing cakes... or take one home with you for later.

Took my daughter and her boyfriend today, for a carvery. And again I wasn't disappointed. The food was piping hot and as tasty as always. Great customer service by Spencer also, which rounded up our excellent experience.

I was disappointed. It was very busy which was a sign that it was a good place to eat, however, the dish I wanted was sold out and the alternative was okay but nothing special. They forgot some of the order so we had to ask for it. There were very few staff so we had to track someone down. It was an okay place but not a patch on the Juniper Farms Farmhouse Inns restaurant. I would not choose to go again.

Go to Lymewood Farm once a month to meet friends for lunch. Booking is a must as it gets very busy at lunchtime. The food is nice and reasonably priced. The staff are always friendly, one in particular sticks out and that is Jade. If you ask her for anything nothing is too much trouble, we have asked her to chase our hot drinks, for sauces, for extra cutlery and a receipt for our food after we have paid. She does everything with a smile. The only negative I can say about this pub is it needs more disabled car park spaces. There are two spaces for a car park that must hold at least 70 cars. I always have to park at the back of the car park where no one can park on my drivers side as I need to open my door wide. This means I have to walk further to the front door and every step causes pain.

Lovely atmosphere.made really welcome by Danny ray and the two Ellie's behind the bar are a credit to the company. Food was excellent. Spencer the chef as professional as usual. Highly recommend xx will definitely be back x

We booked to come here at 3.15pm on Friday after we had attended a family funeral. When we arrived a member of staff said go past the carvery and our table was 12 and 13. There would be someone else working down there that would show us to our table.... there's wasn't but we found our table. It was really cold. We all sat with our coats on. It said it was easy to order online so I did. I ordered food and drinks at 15.30. A few mins before 4pm two of the mixed grills came out. We still had no drinks. I asked the waitress where our drinks were and what happened about us getting our carveries, she said follow me and I'll get your tickets and the drinks were being made. By the time we got our carvery and sat down the two people having the mixed grills had finished and still had no drinks. I must say the member of staff on the carvery was very good and very polite. We did want to toast to our mum/nan but we just ate and left. We didn't even have desserts as the customer service was dismal and it was cold. No one asked was our food ok or anything. Customer service really needs to be looked at.

Lewis behind the carvery counter was a lovely young man. It’s a rare thing to find good customer service these days but he went above and beyond to look after our needs. He carried my friends plate back to the table as she was using a crutch and within 15mins I caught sight of him escorting an old lady back to her table carrying her plate for her. What a diamond you have there.

Gill was very welcoming food was excellent lovely atmosphere. Would recommend

A lovely place to eat. We were travelling with the family and fancied tea, the carpark was full and very busy, they managed to find space for us even though we didn't book. Lovely food fast service freindly staff.

Not even kidding, probably the worst plate of food I’ve had EVER.

We were stopping at the premier Inn across the road. Which also entitled us to a 10% discount. Food was really hot and had the breakfast too which was a buffet breakfast. Really good value for the money

Simple, but well done food and a friendly and quick service.

Starters didn't arrive all together, number of excuses made. Carvery was ok, the pudding was huge and delicious. The staff were friendly and talked lovely with the kiddies.

Ordered two “carvery and cake” deals for home delivery, topping £40 in the process (but that's the price of being lazy on a Sunday). I've been strung by other Greene King franchise sites before when it comes to delivery but to be fair this one did a good job. Would have been nice to have more gravy (and more generous meat that the small slices given) but all in all they did okay.

Massive shoutout to Lewis on the carvery! Super lovely man and sorted me out with some mushy peas. Top bloke. Amazing pub, one of our favourites 🥰

Came with my 8 month old and the service from Mirelle was absolutely amazing. She helped get me an additional plate so I could cool downfood for my son and even got him some peas to try! She was fantastic!!

Carvery was pretty tasteless, vegetables had no flavour left in them, beef was so tough my mum couldn't even chew it and another piece the knife wouldn't cut! Potatoes aren't usual roast potatoes, they were dry and not crispy and gravy was just wet with no flavour. Took ages to get the app to work and when I tried to log in it constantly wanted to verify my email code log, tried 4 times so I could get my discount voucher but it never worked and the voucher disappeared without me being able to use it. App confusing with no description as to exactly what was included in the carvery, so ended up ordering extra Yorkshire as it didn't look like they were included, but they were and no sizes mentioned on the soft drinks, so hard to judge what size you want. Staff were really nice and friendly though and lots of customers were enjoying themselves, but I didn't enjoy the food and probably wouldn't go again due to problems with confusing app and lack of quality food. Also grill still not working, which from other reviews I can see its now been not working for a couple of months, not having a working grill really limits the choice available.

Visited the lymewood for lunch was quite impressed with the the service that was offered I felt that covid 19 safety measures they have are excellent and felt very safe in the restaurant and you have the added bonus of the 50% discount which is on offer,All in all a very good visit and congratulations to all the staff for their polite & prompt service definitely worth a 5* rating

Just wanted a tasty lunch. We had chicken and stuffing wrap with chips and gravy. It was fantastic a busy time we had not booked but we were shown to a table quickly. The food and drinks were served to our table quickly. I really enjoyed my lunch very tasty. Thanks to all the staff.

We had a table for 10, and 2 highchairs. Lovely food and good service, very reasonably priced.

Chef didn't seem to be in the best mood when getting my carvery. The broccoli was quite mushy, and the mashed potatoes were very runny. Lots of over 5 kids playing in the 5's and under play area, being quite rough with the soft play making it difficult for under 5's to play there.

Great place for food and drink! Really enjoyed the cake and ice cream!! Staff are all really nice and friendly! Was served by Kim who was great! Good service all round! Would definitely recommend!

Busy for a Tuesday. Waited a while to be served. Seemed a little under staffed, bar staff did their best under the circumstances. Blackcurrant and soda was very refreshing. Carvery wasn't as good as I have had previous. Ham was tasty but sparce. Veg a little undercooked. Yorkshire pudding looked good but tasted burnt, I didn't eat it. Cauliflower cheese lacked sauce. Hit and miss with roasties. Some were hard. Such ashame on this occasion. As I have had some tasty carveries in the past.

We had a lovely meal with family on Sunday 27th October, a lovely lady called Gill was very helpful& friendly,making sure we were all looked after.

We was placed at a table near the front door which the doors were wide open we asked if we could have the doors shut bearing in mind this is at the end of October so it was quite cold we dinners around us eating with coats on! The lady told us we can't shut the doors as we have the aircon on and no option too move by the time the food came we took it upon ourselves to move table as we still hadn't taken our coats off from arriving and felt uncomfortable, the staff congrigated around the cleaning station perring over at us and sniggering didn't exactly make our meal most enjoyable when all we wanted to be is warm and comfortable and seeing people around us dinning with coats still on... Indoors was a first... Also to add to it all about 60% of the menu wasn't available either.... Won't be returning.

We went for a carvery, the last time we went it wasn't that good, but as you do you try it again. Turkey was fine beef really rubbery, mash, carrot cut really thick, yorkshire pudding not crispy looked like it had been microwaved, roast potatoes looked fine, gravy very lumpy. Got back to our seats very disappointed it was cold, I don't like my food to hot to be honest but everything was cold I don't think it was above 40° and these items on the carvery should be at a regulatory temperature. My wife left hers completely. No one checked our table, young lad cleaning the table at the side of us told him, but just said OK. I just ate the turkey and a few roast potatoes and we left not even finishing our drinks.

Called in today for a carvery, I enjoyed the meal and a member of staff asked me was everything ok and I said it was. I went to order a takeaway cake because I was full but was told they had no plastic tubs to put the sundae in. The member of staff apologised but I was really disappointed because I was looking forward to a dessert

Called in a lovely location, a little expensive, but well, worth a visit

We came down as a party of 7 on a Sunday evening. Unfortunately the grills weren't working so we couldn't order the mixed grills or steaks. But the carvery and the chicken combos went down a treat. We had a lovely lady called Gill who came to the table to help out. She was brilliant. Excellent service from Gill had a great sense of humour. Made our evening!

Visited today and left after 25 minutes. There were not enough staff to handle the number of people in the place and gave up after queuing at the bar for 20 minutes to order food and drink. The grill was also broken which meant the menu was very limited, so wasn't worth queuing any longer for.

Visited today, great experience. The carvery was great, served by a polite chef, Spencer. Not been here for a while, but will definitely return soon. All interactions with staff were great including the bar staff, maitre d, and Chef. Coupled with good food and a clean environment gives a great experience.

Busy as always, if you are planning on coming I highly recommend booking a table as we saw people getting turned away due to having no room. Food as always is good and always plenty of choice.

Ordered on the app from our table , a bit of a wait for the drinks . Pub wasn't as busy due to the grill being broken . Went to the bar for cake away but if you want cream with it you have to pay extra , but you don't if eating in . This puzzled us slightly . All in all the a good experience and food was delicious as always .

Love the carvery. Friendly chef serving meat. Was very busy and he kept smiling and cheerful.Was looking for broccoli or another green veg as I'd already by passed the leeks!!! Only gripe. 2 of party had starters. 2/3 had ordered carvery but the main course was brought straight after starter, which was impressive considering how busy it was, b ut as we couldn't leave the adult with add needs alone it meant we are in stages. I was going to ask how long a wait for mains after starter , just didn't get chance!

Grill not working for 3 days so reduced menu leading to selling out of remaining menu, carvery tough and overcooked, toilets filthy with broken hand dryer. Just not a very good experience.

This is my favourite Farmhouse Inn, always a great reception from the front of house staff. We just love Mirelle and Raphael on the carvery too.

Went here and never want to go again! Ate carvery here yesterday and woke up this morning throwing up wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who want's to eat out.

Food was very nice, had the mixed grill with cheesy garlic bread as the starter. It was a Sunday and was very busy but the food came out fairly quickly and tasted alright, was nothing out of this world though. Would recommend

Don’t come to this restaurant, it’s disappointing and the staff are rude , dirty cutlery, poor staff , management are shocking. Not worth the bother, it’s a perfect example we’re not to eat in Haydock . The worst place I’ve eaten for a long time , disgusting .

ignored our request for what we wanted on the carvery. Food arrived late and was freezing cold when it did eventually arrived.

Carvery was really good, lots of choice. Spencer the chef was friendly and gave us 2 yorkshire puddings each! Would come back!

The food here is absolutely delicious, staff were very friendly and helpful. The cake selection is fantastic and there is a kids area inside the pub. I would definitely recommend this pub to anyone.

30 minutes late, came fairly cold and we ordered 3 meals, only 2 came! Usually great service from here, today really not.

Nice Sunday carvery at good price

Honestly as a food critic this is very poor . From hero to zero within 12 months can now tell its greenking owned. Most half cooked veg terrible selection will never return. Even deserts gone down pan. This place used to be magical the food was unreal variety of gravy cajun roast potatoes PEAS not this mess. An something as simple as opening a tab wasted 40 mins trying to sort out an had them telling us to get off table next booking was there b4 they even bothered to serve deserts SHOCKING

Had a carvery the roast potatoes where hard normally spot on the other times I've been in going to give it another go will update my review

Was annoyed when I got there and found people that had booked a table queuing out of the door... however when it was explained to me that the booking system had played up I fully understood the difficulties that staff had faced...less than 10 minutes later we where at our table and I observed the staff working very hard to get things back on track. Basically, you can't beat Lymewood Farm for a good Sunday roast!

did not read order notes cover in food we asked not TO BE on them went in the bin disappointed yet again PLEASE READ ORDER NOTES THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE FOR not the 1st time this has happened plus the meat portions are diabólical tiny thin slither of each is not what we pay for

order a few times and most times spot in. however what I asked for in comments wasn't acknowledged. why have a comment box if your not gonna give what the customer wants

This place use to be a firm favourite for a good carvery. Went today after not bring for over a year and the change in standard is veey recognisable. Cold soggy roasts, dry yorkies and limp flavourless veg. Also only 4 vegetables to chose from. Such a shame as now it's just an average carvery place.

Chef Spencer is truly a wizard in the carvery world. His skills are unmatched, and it shows in every slice he serves. The meats were perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, showcasing his mastery over the craft. Each dish was accompanied by a generous selection of sides, all prepared with the same level of care and attention to detail.

Cold food. Burnt chicken. Pie with very little filling.

Missed a kids meal from my order, no option on just eat to inform the restaurant so I phoned direct, I left a message on the answer machine, they’ve still not returned my call, it’s not the cost that is the issue, it’s the inconvenience, I understand mistakes can happen, but there should be measures in please to resolve any issues that occur. I resolved myself by sharing the other meals, but you would hope customer satisfaction would be considered, No I wouldn’t recommend.

The food was lovely, really enjoyed it, will be going again soon.

We ordered a takeaway , Sunday lunch the only nice things on the plate was the meats and the Yorkshire pudding it cost £25 for 2 of us , the veg was tasteless the roast potatoes hard , even the dogs wouldn’t eat it , disgusting food and price AVOID

Had a carvery, all was well except roast potatoes which were frozen and reheated,or at least I presume they were they tasted awful, I cook roasties often,and these where definitely not freshly cooked,my experience was that bad I will not be eating here again.
