An absolute gem! The food was incredible - crispy, flavorful mutton rolls, deliciously spicy chili paneer, and rich fish and goat curries paired with fresh, soft roti. The service was also warm and attentive, highly recommend for a genuine Sri Lankan food experience.

Nice Indian restaurant just around the corner from busy Kings cross. Simple and enjoyable dishes at reasonable prices. Certainly an option for a quiet evening dinner with well-made Indian cousins.

Really friendly owner, the fish curry was very tasty and the roti paratha just like in Sri Lanka :)

Authentic (never been to Sri Lanka, but felt like it) Island cuisine and really colorful, tasty, spicy dishes! My favorite were the starters (particularly the gourd salad), but the goat curry is also worth a try!

I have visited many times and love the food here every time

The food is delicious. I ordered the Spot the Goat, and the goat is tender and juicy. I recommend using the parata bread to dip the sauce - parata is crispy outside and soft inside, let it absorb the sauce and just enjoy it.

The best part of the experience was the venue for me. It was well decorated and relaxing. Although it was mostly tasty, I found the mains to be too small and the food to be a bit too salty. The flatbread and rice were also a bit dry. Service was good. Price-wise, it was OK. 12.5% service charge included in the bill.

I booked a table at this restaurant to treat my cousin, who is currently in London for his studies. He’s been missing Sri Lankan food, and after reading the reviews on Google, I thought this would be a great choice. When we entered, there was a strong smell, which was a bit off-putting at first. However, the gentleman serving us quickly showed us to a table, which was appreciated. The restaurant is small, seating about 40 people, and it was quite busy when we visited. The menu had an appealing selection of dishes, and we ordered some short eats (Sri Lankan snacks) along with a few curries and rice. While the food tasted good, it was lukewarm, which was a little disappointing. That said, the service was friendly and efficient, and the ambiance was pleasant overall. One small note: the seats were quite hard, which might be a challenge if you’re planning to stay for an extended period. All in all, it was an okay experience. My cousin certainly enjoyed the meal, which was the most important part, so I’m glad I was able to bring him a little taste of home.

I tried the chicken Kothu with Devilled chicken for dinner. The atmosphere inside was very nice and I didn't have to wait long to receive the food once I made the order. I went high with the spice factor, but the waiter always checks if you want less or more spice. Would highly recommend.

Lovely little spot! Great array of veggie, vegan, fish, and mean dishes. The curry was the highlight. I was a bit skeptical since the fish of the day was tilapia but it was very well cooked and not mushy. Good prices too, although I think the mocktails are slightly overpriced.

Whilst my starter was 10/10, my main was not quite what I expected. However, I have not had Sri Lankan food before, so that is probably on me. The staff were kind but slightly hard to get a hold of at the end to settle the bill. Would visit again.

Loved this place.. so understated yet amazing, authentic Sri Lankan food (I know because I was with a Sri Lankan friend). Every dish was cooked to perfection. We ordered loads between 5 of us and only spent around 45 quid each.

We decided to end our London trip with Sri Lankan food! And it was a good choice! This place was easy to find! Staff were friendly and they were attentive. Food was delicious. We had 2 cocktails (Mahaveli and Old Ceylon) and loved them both! For a starter, we had hot buttered calamari, and it was delicious! Then we had chicken deviled, koththu and egg fried rice, and we recommend all of them! Over all great place and great authentic food.

This is my first time eating Sri Lankan food. It is so delicious. Went to eat on a Monday at noon. The restaurant was not busy, and the service and meals were very good. The meal cost around £60 for three people.

I recommend the seafood boil, it was very flavorful and had just enough spice. The paratha and chicken curry was also delish!

Tasty food and excellent service

This place is a revelation. The food is fantastic and the staff are incredibly friendly. I’d recommend this place to anyone who likes a good curry but wants something a little different.

We came at lunch time when it was quieter. The waiter was very helpful and attentive. We had the crab and fish of the day curry. Both were delicious.

If you’re looking for the best authentic Sri Lankan dishes, I have to say Machan Kitchen is the place. As a British-born Sri Lankan, I always have cravings for the dishes my mum made when I was growing up, and this definitely hits the spot!

Came here tonight, being an avid curry fan and was privileged to try the curried goat, along with a pork curry and an assortment of well cooked rice, sides and starters. Everything was delicious but the curry goat was without a doubt the most delectable curry I have ever eaten. Highly recommend this place. The staff were lovely and the bitter gourd salad is a game changer 👍🏻 Sinan the manager was also lovely and deserves a bonus.

Third visit here a hidden gem of a place. Don’t walk past. The food here is outstanding what would I recommend? Well after multiple visits everything but especially the desert watalappam.

Lovely dog friendly with a consistently good quality food and service, so good we went for a round of starters and drinks which came to around £25 per person.

AMAZING. I had the seafood platter to myself and I was in heaven. Such lovely service. And the cocktails were also epic. Love spicy food and all the amazing authentic flavours. Highly recommend.
