Ordered a takeaway online which was super easy and efficient. Food was ready to collect and I was given a lovely gift of a bottle of wine! All of the food was excellent, hot and delicious 👌🏽

What a fabulous place to eat and get a take away. Myself and my family frequently use the Maha for dining in and also takeaway. We are never disappointed. The staff are always friendly and go out of their way to make all feel welcome and have a great night. The food is always delicious, piping hot and arrives in good time. Would highly recommend x

Ordered a take away from here when a supermarket let us down with grocery delivery while we were on holiday. It was an indulgence we hadn’t budgeted for but it was so very lovely and we’ll definitely order from here again as we visit regularly. The delivery person was friendly and smiley, the food (we had madras, jalfrezi, peshwari naan, chips, pilau rice and a tikka starter) between three of us was generous portions, piping hot and one of the nicest Indian meals we’ve ever had from a take away. Thank you so much!!

We are so incredibly lucky to have Maha-bharat in Kingsbridge to visit whenever we wish! And so consistent ... no matter when you visit, you will never be disappointed.

A very nice restaurant, ignore the view from the street as the inside is so much nicer. Food was very good and a huge selection available. The staff were very pleasant and knowledgeable. Just a tad more expensive than others I’ve used but the food made up for it .

The best Indian restaurant I know. I always have a takeout from here when I am down in Salcombe. The staff are the friendliest people you will ever meet, and the food is outstanding. I wanted to write a review as one of your team tonight recommended the Prawn Delight with spice in, after i wanted to try something different, it was exactly what I was after and so tasty. Highly recommend these great people.

What a happy place! Brilliant service. Dishes clearly explained. Beautifully laid tables, clean and polished. Linen napkins, warmed plates, tasty, well-cooked food. All served with a smile and nothing too much trouble.

It's a great Indian restaurant. It's a bit expensive . But you will not be disappointed.

We love Indian cuisine and make a lot of our own curries. This was a taste sensation though. Also the staff were so lovely. The wrong starter arrived , the error was corrected so quickly but they also said..keep the wrong one and try it between you. We will be back on our next visit

Really good food with a large choice. It was very busy and obviously popular, probably need to book. Very tasty food, good friendly service, can’t fault it.

I've come with my family for the week to Devon and have had a lovely time here. Food is always a big thing for us and we have come from Birmingham which has some of the best desi pubs and restuarants for food. Being indian ourselves, we have a high standard for the cuisine. We ordered from Maha-Bharat and was sadly disappointed by the lack of flavour. We asked for extra spice and this was added but the flavour was still missing and the food was not in anyway authentic. It seems like the cooking was a little lazy to bring out the taste and the Yogurt was also poor, not properly mixed and was not fresh. Most of the food was not eaten. I think places like this are lazy with the taste given the demographic is not extremely diverse so they are able to take liberties with the taste of the dishes. Whenever we do visit again, we will not be ordering from this restuarant again...

Takeaway I tried to email but they don’t seem to do emails. This is not a complaint as the takeaway meal was delicious. Two points to consider, my Peshwair Nan had no sultanas in it. Not a problem, I enjoyed it anyway , but the chef might need to be reminded. Secondly, the takeaway menu would benefit from having a heat(spiciness) indication next to ALL of the dishes. Some have them but most do not. A simple chilli symbol is often used by restaurants and would be easy to add. I had the Moglai lamb which was delicious but had absolutely no background heat in it, it could have been a Korma, so an indication would have been helpful.very polite staff as always, a wonderful curry house in Kingsbridge.

Great food, but charged £14 to deliver 5.2 miles away. I ordered online and paid £4 for delivery after putting in my postcode. I was then fleeced for an extra £10 by the delivery person for being “outside of their delivery area”. Food was great, and portions were big, we made it last two dinners, just very annoyed at the extra fee. Wouldn’t recommend if you are having it delivered beyond their village.

Very good food, very pleasant staff. The place was packed at 7.30pm on a Tuesday so booking a table is essential. Service could have been quicker but considering the number of diners not unsurprising.

Whilst Devon doesn’t have many Indian restaurants, I have to see the South Devon holidaymakers and second home owners are blessed with one of the very best Indian restaurants in the South of England! Bar none!

Outstanding Indian restaurant, the staff are so welcoming, friendly and efficient, looking after you from start to finish. Moving onto the food; which was simply DELICIOUS! - Comprehensive menu and a good range of wine. I opted for the Indian classic draft Kingfisher lager. The poppadoms are excellent. The meal was cooked to perfection - Lamb Tika Masala, Chicken Karahli - large portions! Served with Pilau & Coconut Rise, onion & mushroom bhage & Nan bread - superb! Highly recommended

This was busy at 6pm when we visited on holiday in the area. A good sign. The room layout was such that we (as a group of 7) were given a round table in the centre of the room - like the top table at a wedding. We felt slightly ion show but also like invited guests. Quite a long wait for food but it was delicious. Couldn’t fault it in anyway. 5 ⭐️ s? Not quite as the prices were too high. £212 for 7 of us…we’re not used to paying that much for a curry…

Being Indian, I was a bit wary of this restaurant on a long weekend break in Devon. I’m glad I had a meal here. Decor and cleanliness was 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Mahi and Abu provided excellent service and understood our needs. Food was delicious. Definitely recommend this restaurant to visit once and I’m sure you will be saying you want to go again😉

Had a meal with family for a long needed catch-up, was greeted with a positive inviting attitude, we all felt so comfortable from the start. The staff were extremely knowledgeable about each dish, gave amazing recommendations, and took the time to explain the flavourings when we were stuck at the amazing variety! The food is made to order, which was so helpful as one of us has a food allergy, so the staff made sure that the chefs could adjust dishes to suit her needs. Amazing service and amazing food!

Wow! I've just moved down from Brighton where there is a great choice of Indian cuisine, ordered a set meal for 1, and was very happy and surprised that they let me change a couple of dishes but pay any extra. I went for the mild set menu for 1, £17.95, which was,....chicken tikka starter, meat korma rice and nan. Swapped the korma for a lamb methi, the plain nan for a keema nan. £22 delivered. OMG! Had a drunken feast last night and thought it was great! Just had the leftovers, OMG again! There was way more than last night on the plate....... It tasted even better, yet more of it! The meat content was way more than I've been consistently getting in Brighton and the sauce much thicker and sooooooo good! 100% I'll be using this restaurant as a go to in the future. Everything tasted amazing, ingredients were fresh and got 2 awesome meals for just over a score???! I'll be back!

We had a late reservation, so although it was quiet the staff were excellent. The food was good, and served a purpose for the night. If you’re looking for well-priced, decent food, give this place a shot. I think the menu is too big and you should concentrate on your specialities but thanks for a fun evening.

Honestly probably the best Indian I've eaten in, and up there as one of the great restaurants. Food is cooked fresh and they are so knowledgeable and flexible to account for dietary restrictions. The staff are so lovely and know their menu so well. Couldn't recommend it any more highly.

Never been to the restaurant Restaurant called my number How you got my number I'll never know as I've never handed it out freely to a restaurant. Phone number rang me I answered then silence for 10 seconds and it hung up??? What??? Why??? Why have I been rang??? Never been more confused

Honestly I don’t think you could find better service anywhere in the country. Always an absolutely wonderful experience to eat here, the food cooked in the clay oven is particularly phenomenal but everything is delicious, made and served with immense care. Couldn’t recommend enough!

We ordered from here as we are camping. Food was OK. Both curries were nice and the rice was good. Poppadoms were soggy as anything you could fold them in half and the chips were also soggy. Not sure the French fries go with a curry either. Probably wouldn’t order from here again.

Best curry house in South Hams by miles.

Our local tennis club went last night for our Festive Meal and had wonderful food and service. It was very busy and the atmosphere was great - we would recommend as a excellent option for parties at Christmas and throughout the year.

Well, where do we start!! We booked over the phone and the service was excellent, on arrival we had the same amazing level of service, the pickle tray was beautiful, the onion bhaji starter and chicken chat was amazing, the mains were incredible!! This is easily the best curry house we have ever been to!! And we are both in our 40's!!! 5 ⭐️

Grateful to have delivery to south shore. Overall pricey for an average Indian. Starters mushroom pakora, all bar one pakora I’ve ever had had batter on it, this didn’t and was like a mushroom curry. I had mix kebab, to be honest bland in flavour and lamb was tough. Mains; my wife enjoyed hers, chappattis far too thick I won’t say how much they cost, mine was a special and was ok, lamb tender but lacking in depth of flavour, rice was good. So I wouldn’t discourage delivery but don’t expect too muck, it was ok.

We called on a Friday around 17:30 and just walked in was amazed to find the restaurant fully booked They managed to fit me and my wife in but were given a 90 minute time window Food was fresh tasty and spicy and was presented well Service was good and quick even though the restaurant was full

Anything you desire cooked how you like it, will be done, you cannot fail to be impressed with the food, service and politeness. I wish I lived near to the restaurant rather than 239 miles!. I don't usually comment on how pretty interiors are as personally I'm not that bothered but on this occasion I noticed it, the whole establishment is very clean and perfectly decorated with ambient lighting. For the tastiest Indian meal for miles around, why not visit?.

Fantastic Indian restaurant. I had chicken tikks bhuna and it was cooked to perfection. Don't usually eat in Indian restaurants when on holiday as we come from the West Midlands where Balti dishes are well know for being excellent but the Maha-Bharat was recommended to us and it lived up to all expectations 👍👍👍👍👍

Delicious curry, large range of unusual and yummy dishes. Average main around £12-15. Staff were a delight, managed to squeeze us in when we arrived without a reservation on a Thursday eve around 6.30pm. They were fully booked for the evening... Reservation highly recommended. Fabulous experience.

Fantastic Indian restaurant and excellent food. We have eaten here several times but this year we ordered a takeaway online. Easy to order from the excellent website, booked for a certain time and when we wanted it. Delicious food as always; very generous portions too.

Usually good but my wife had a lamb dish and it literally only had 4 bits of meat. Mostly curry sauce. Had a lot better at this restaurant. Put us of tbh….

No wonder this place gets high accolades. Came here late one Sunday night after a long drive from Kent. One of the best curries I've ever had. Balance of spices and flavours is superb. The chapattis are to die for. Staff were lovely too. If you love an Indian,then you must go.

We have been regularly weekly customers for over 8 years now as it is by far the best indian cuisine dining experience in the southwest of England- proven by the consistent annual awards they receive. I have been to many different curry house all over and this is by far best ever!! Everyone is very friendly, attentive and professional. I have now eaten here many times in the restaurant and had takeaways. But I felt I just had to review as they never disappoint. I had an exceptional take away this evening to celebrate 2 weeks off and every dish is completely different and so flavoursome. You don't get the horrible block chicken like you do in many. Each curry tastes unique in every way, and they can adapt it however you like! If you want to add king prawns or if you like extra spice nothing is too much trouble! I love the garlic chilli chicken, my partner has the chicken dansak with added king prawns and my daughter had chicken Kashmiri. All superb! They have won awards and it is very much deserved. Thank you all.
