Visited 15th December, Sunday Lunch, Excellent Meal, Service was great by Zoli, Will certainly be back !

Zoli, Sasha and Sharon were amazing and very knowledgable on the menus

We enjoyed afternoon tea and sunday roast while we dined at Marco’s. Staff member Zoli went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. He was very professional and friendly. We look forward to future visits at the hotel restaurant.

Came here today for afternoon tea and it didn’t disappoint. Really good service from start to end, staff are welcoming and friendly. (Waiter was Eoli) Food was lovely and plenty of it, we couldn’t eat it all but was able to take remaining cakes home. Tasty hot drinks and glass of fizz. Clean and calming environment, didn’t feel rushed and was even asked if we wanted any more drinks which was nice. Nice big car park out the back too.

A great venue for a celebration dinner with the option to stay the night for those that want to. We were looked after exceptionally well by our hosts and the food was delicious

Nice Sunday lunch except for veg, which other than a portion of red cabbage consisted of a lot of peas and carrots! Also we had a vegetarian with us and despite advertising a veggie option there wasn't one! She had to settle for a portion of cauliflower cheese which is one of their extra side orders!!

We booked this restaurant to celebrate my Mum’s 80th birthday. Zolly was extremely helpful with all the plans that we had, including storing my Mum’s cake & flowers and allowing us to decorate the table in advance. Fantastic service, lovely food and a great family lunch, with lots of happy memories. Thank you to the whole team and especially Zolly for his attention to detail. 5 stars 🌟

Great evening here, lovely food, great staff which can’t do enough for you and service with a smile! Highly recommend the cocktails and steak! Kids portions are massive so great value for money! Thank you to the staff!

Excellent food (fresh calamari which was tender and tasty) friendly service, although I was not asked which gin I wanted for my G&T and was given an expensive one which I didn't like, and service charge automatically added to bill. Background music is also not apt and tinny, which is a shame, and it would be so nice to have some free bread whilst waiting for your starters.

I was staying at the best western with work. I decided to eat in the onsite restaurant Marco's. Sat down at a nice table for one and given the menus, one set menu and on Al a cart menu. Was told that you were unable to swap and change menus you had to pick one. I decided on the garlic bread pizza and 8oz sirloin steak medium rare with salad instead of chips. This was confirmed back to me and I waited eagerly for my food after a long day. The garlic bread pizza arrived, it was not how I would of imagined it, for £5.50 I would have expected a full pizza of garlic bread. Having worked in the catering industry for many years previous to my current job I am fully aware how much this dish costs to make. The waiter then came over with a check and cleared my starters and started taking down my order again. Saying "so that was the siiirrrloin was that 8oz" I said I have already ordered. I then had to state my full mains order again. I decided not to say anything at this point and waiting for my steak to arrive. The dish was presented well but this is where my evening started to go abit down hill. The steak was more medium than medium rare. No redness insight. No one did a check back on me so did not mention this till after the meal. I decided not to have a dessert and asked for the bill. And here comes the worst part of the evening, I am starting back up at the gym and decided to take the healthier option of the salad (rocket and tomatos) instead of chips. The bill came over and the waitress asked me to check as there was issues when I ordered (take it that was why they checked my order again) she then adds the 2 open food charges on the bottom are for the rocket and tomatoes as a substitute charge. I advised that I had salad instead of chips and it was not advised at the time of ordering that it would be more money. Not to mention salad is cheaper in the grand scheme of things than chips. I also mentioned that the steak was more medium than medium rare and again an apology. She took off the open foods for the salad from the bill. But did not address my issue with the steak. I paid the bill then left. I have eaten in alot of different restaurants and worked in rosette standard restaurants. I do not mind paying decent money for decent food. But this place just did not warrent the higher prices. Just be aware if you as for salad instead of chips they will charge you a surcharge.

Tasty pizza and chicken tenders cant fault the meal very satisfied.

I visited the restaurant tonight with my husband driving from South Wales as we had been gifted a voucher. We started off with appetisers - the Italian meatballs and barrata - these were delicious! For the main we had the 12oz fillet steak and pomodoro linguine - again, these were delicious, we thoroughly enjoyed. We had a few sides too that we probably didn't need because we left the table absolutely stuffed. We found the serving portions pretty reasonable, especially for the price we paid. The service was amazing, zoli was attentive and very polite when tending to our table. Overall, the 2 hour round trip was worth it and we would happily do it again.

My family and I have literally just walked out of this restaurant on Mother’s Day 2024. We were so excited to book this restaurant after seeing an offer on the website for Mother’s Day Sunday lunch at £15.95 plus a complimentary gin cocktail for mums. We arrived to find a practically empty restaurant and completely different menu to the one we saw advertised. Whilst the staff agreed to honour the free complementary cocktail they said we would only be allowed to choose the chicken or beef off the menu and not the pork loin or lamb. When we challenged the restaurant about this and asked them to honour the offer they refused yet acknowledged that the marketing and menu had changed last week and that it was out of their hands. They also confirmed they were only told about the change last minute themselves. This is absolutely appalling so we left on principle. I hope whomever created this situation for us to experience on Mother’s Day reads this and reflects on the impact it has had. We will definitely not be visiting this restaurant again.

Had dinner here a couple of times as part of my stay with the Great Western. The meals are expensive for what you get however they are good. The lasagne was lovely but £16 just for lasagne and then having to pay for a side of chips (£3.50) is a bit much. The price for pizza which was really good was absolutely fine. Had a side of onion rings with pizza and they were soggy and greasy. The buffet breakfast was pretty decent. I would not dine here willingly as stated I only ate here due to staying at the hotel as part of a business trip.

A slight issue with service. Like having to go to kitchen to ask for a knife and fork. Server put food on table that walked off. Asked for Ketchup, Server took away the Garlic Mayo, then a delay in getting Ketchup asked 3 times. Recommeded topping up customer services training. Never had issue prior to this, so was a bit disappointed.

First visit to Marco's, what a lovely surprise, a really lovely restaurant, our food was very, very good and the staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring everything was OK. We liked the open feel of the restaurant and found it relaxing. We would highly recommend Marco's for an enjoyable night out.

Excellent meal. Food was served quickly and was all hot and tasty. Great attentive staff. Looking forward to returning soon.

Gables, Falfield- pizza very dry and burnt, wouldn't return, we are local so very disappointed 🙁

Not been here before. Food very good. Wife had a really good fillet steak and the American burger also great. Tiramsui could have been more sponge/alcohol. Bit too much cream. Biggest issue was initial serving. Young lady had no idea what red wines were available. Invited to select from the bottles at back of bar. I asked whether the front was the only seating area and told to sit where ever I wanted. I thought it all seemed quite small but whatever! Much later I figured that there was a proper restaurant at the back. Which explained the group of staff at the side whom totally ignored us & just stood chatting. Service at the bar proved to be very friendly and efficient. So in conclusion, great food but initial greeting and info needs improving.

A delicious steak in welcoming surroundings

Staff were friendly and attentive, but without feeling rushed. Child friendly menu and colouring sheets and pencils were provided. Food was very good and good value too. Definitely one to go back to.

Shocking, after waiting nearly a hour for our order to come out it was the worst food we’ve been served.

Had a lovely family dinner here. Service was c fantastic, friendly and efficient. Very kid friendly. The food was very good. My daughter even got a custom pizza made for her (Mac n cheese pizza!!!). Pricing very reasonable and portions very good too. Recommended

The food was good, the staff were warm, friendly, joking appropriately, able to accommodate us at short notice, attentive without intruding. A credit. The over-emphasis on Mr Pierre-White is a bit overbearing, 7/10 pictures on the walls display his ominous presence, I think the restaurant would benefit from their removal, it could make you feel uneasy in the wrong seat. Some of these publicity shots, dark, moody, black and white, a knife prominently displayed in every one of them, are over 20 years old! A bit Loaded/FHM lads mag. Mr PW is nearing pension age now and should have grown out of this type of vanity. I had a steak, chips, salad, peppercorn sauce and cold lager. It was good enough, its was good value for what I paid. My family enjoyed their pasta and salad dishes. Don't expect outstanding, its good enough.

Enjoyed the meal, would have given 5 stars but for the desert. The service was attentive without being intrusive and a nice atmosphere. Be aware Uber drivers are not keen on coming out to you. Had two cancels, before we got one to come out.

Amazing Sunday roast, best I’ve had in a very long time!

Had a lovely meal there last night, prompt service, food and drinks were all delicious and reasonably priced. The Koffman fries were really good!

Staff quite friendly. Food not great. Pizza had hardly any topping and base wasn't cooked. Wouldn't return.

Went in with a large family group to eat. The staff were all very young and inexperienced, but lovely and accommodating. The food on the other hand wasn't bad, but it was well over priced for what it was. Having a so called celebrity name and pictures of him overlooking you everywhere did not justify the price of the food.

We have eaten better food at our local pub. Over priced for what it was. My burger was under cooked and the bacon Over cooked. Very disappointed for what it was purported to be. Sorry shall not return.

The saying “Mutton dressed as Lamb” comes to mind in regards to “Marco Pierre White, restaurant” the restaurant that sells processed packet food at the cost of caviar. He must be making a fortune as a brand. It is bad starting from the food choices on the menu, which is the same throughout his restaurants, there is a lack of fish dishes and chicken dishes, this is his Italian New York menu, I suggest he send it back to New York. Why any establishment would introduce this into their business I do not know. It is low standard pub grub. It is a waste of any Chef’s talents and I know the chef at the Gables is an excellent chef, so this has no reflection on him or his staff. The bar and restaurant staff were attentive, polite and friendly. After my visit I will never enter a Marco Pierre White’s restaurant again ever. Such a disappointment.

Emma didn't greet us, just stood there and told us you can sit there, in reception area so we asked for a different table. We had told them it was Mums 95th birthday but no congratulations from staff or attempt to make her feel special. Waitress a lot better. White bait just burnt batter. Worst my parents have ever tasted. Mediocre meal. We came away feeling really upset that a special meal was such a disaster I did try to complain but the receptionist bustled in to do the bill saying it was wrong. She really needs to be trained up on her attitude to guests.
