Pedí el pollo de Kiev, estaba muy seco, salsa que debería haber estado alrededor era muy mínimo por decir lo menos. Las dos camareras jóvenes vinieron a preguntar si todo estaba bien, les hice saber que estaba seco, las dos dijeron que le avisarían al chef! Lo que me lleva a mi siguiente punto, ¿salió el chef a ver cuál era mi queja, no, así que no muy buen servicio al cliente. Muy decepcionado.

Este es un lugar encantador en Sunderland para algunos precios razonables, comida de alta calidad. ¡Debes reservar ya que se pone muy ocupado! A veces era tan fuerte que nos costaba oírnos hablar. Nos gustó especialmente la pasta de mariscos. El Apreol Spritz estaba bien valorado y sabía delicioso también. El servicio era educado, tal vez podría haber tenido más personal, ya que parecían bastante estresados / ocupados. Luchamos por volver a pedir una bebida debido a esto. Me encantaría volver aquí para probar el menú de la hora feliz. Lo recomendaría como un gran lugar para toda la familia.

La vista es inmejorable y la comida es de primera clase. A pesar de ser un sábado por la noche ocupado el servicio era excelente y disfrutamos mucho de nuestra comida. La bruschetta de langostinos era sabrosa y la cantidad justa de especias. Nuestras opciones de entradas fueron Alexandra de pollo y panceta de pollo con patatas fritas cocidas a mano. Gran elección, ambos eran deliciosos y abundantes. Sin duda volvería.

Despite them not having a record of our booking, they sat us (near to the kitchen). The staff are an asset to the place. Food (from Restaurant Week menu) was hearty and very tasty. Mains of Hotshot Parmo and Belly Pork both delicious. Recommended.

The restaurant was fairly busy and I was with a group of 12 but found the service very good and the waiting staff pleasant. It was a good menu and I chose the smoked haddock with spinach on a bed of mashed potato which was delicious. I also had a small glass of wine and two scoops of ice-cream. We all paid our own bills and, I have to say, mine came to quite a bit more than I expected but if you don't mind that, having enjoyed your meal, then I would recommend this restaurant.

This was our first visit to Marina Vista, it was somewhere that came highly recommended. The restaurant is in a lovely setting on the quayside in Sunderland, it sits on the top floor with lovely views. The food selection is traditional Italian with addition of steaks, chicken, fresh fish. We chose pizza and pasta, the food arrived in good time and the quality was superb, we rounded off with a steaks dessert. This was absolutely lovely night, with great service, we will be back…

I have been to vista marina quite a few times and it never fails to impress me, to food is very tasty and well presented, the staff are friendly and the decor is nice, I would definitely recommend this place

My family and I have just eaten in this restaurant and we all agree it was absolutely outstanding. We were a party of 15 and literally nothing was too much trouble. We had a mix of starters and mains, including halloumi fries, potato skins and bruschetta. Plus pollo cordon bleu, sirloin steak, plaice and pizzas. Everything was served hot and with a smile and all the food was delicious. I was really impressed that all of the food came out promptly and at the same time and drink orders were taken throughout the meal. The staff were very attentive and pleasant and I will be recommending this place and 100% visiting again.

We arrived in sunder1for a weekend away. We booked a table at this restaurant (based on previous reviews). The restaurant in the marina when we arrived on a Sunday evening was full with a great atmosphere. All other venues in the marina were closed !. Food choice was excellent and when it arrived did not disappoint. Excellent shiraz wine so all in all a restaurant that we are happy to recommend.

We arrived for our 6.30 booking and waited at the door for 10 minutes before anyone spoke to us. Table wasn’t ready. We were sat down just before 7 and another 15 minutes later we hadn’t had a drinks order taken. Food that was coming out looked lovely, service tonight was shocking. We left after this and we were thanked on the way out as if we’d just paid. Very disappointing. Had a lovely meal at Santinos along the seafront instead.

Hubby and my favorite restaurant. Love the food and the personal touch. Tracey, Adam, Chris and Effan and girls are fantastic.

I can honestly say I have had the best Sunday roast, lunch was spot on, so tasty and the service was second to none, we will be back again and again and I will spread the word, credit where credit is due, food fantastic, service spot on, venue gorgeous, thank you so much, we had a lovely afternoon.

Marina Vista never fails to impress. On this occasion I had Gamberoni in a Thermidor sauce with rice - yummy! The staff are friendly and helpful, the situation of the restaurant great and the menu good and varied.

Food was dreadful. I had a pizza. It tasted like cardboard. Was difficult to cut with a knife. In fact I think it looked and tasted like the small cheap bases you can buy at a supermarket, & on which they’d thrown a few tasteless...

Late Sunday evening visit. Service was great with our host very attentive and the food was delicious. Starters were Scallops (from the Specials board) and Black Pudding with Feta salad. Huge portions with rich sauce on the Scallops. Feta was rich and creamy. Main courses...

Love Marina vista so decided to order takeaway to support during lockdown. Ordered the food to arrive for 7 and it did. The food was amazing and so tasty the same standard as in restaurant so reasonable. Honestly this restaurant and staff are amazing. Keep it up and support local.

We had a wonderful meal last night with friends visiting from Wolverhampton. Adam and the team providing excellent customer service and making everyone feel welcome.

This is a nice restaurant, the staff are really lovely and friendly. My son and I both ordered chicken for our main meal. We both liked the chicken. Chicken with peppercorn for him and chicken with mushroom for me, served with chunky chips. Photos attached. However we were both very disappointed with the starter, garlic bread. It’s very oily and vaguely tasted of any garlic. Hence the 3 stars for my review.

My wife and I visited with our grandchildren ages 3 and 2 a week ago and had an outstanding meal. I messaged the restaurant saying there were no children’s cutlery, only adult knives and forks. We visited again yesterday and were delighted that they now have children’s cutlery. Excellent response to my feedback.I had Pollo Pepe once again, my wife had Sea Bream which were exceptional. The children again had Penne Bolognese which they devoured. The service, attention to Covid mitigations, the staff and value for money cannot be bettered.The added bonus was we took advantage of Rishi’s ‘Eat Out To Help Out’ scheme so the total bill for the food, soft drinks and ice cream for the kids was £22. Unbelievable really and even at full price, it is still the best place to take the grandchildren for a lovely lunch.Highly recommended and best to book to make sure there is availability.

We booked into the Marina Vista on Sunday as a group of 12 . The welcome was fantastic, the service from the waiters brilliant and with humour but more importantly the food was excellent not one moan from the 12 of us . So just would like to thank everyone for making our celebration a night to remember.

Visited MV with my wife and two grandchildren. The restaurant was very busy, the plentiful staff were pleasant and helpful and service was excellent. Once again, food was superb, atmosphere was wonderful....and that is why this is my favourite restaurant!

Marina Vista Ristorante is a great place to visit with exceptional views of the marina.The food is nicely presented and good value for money. The staff are very welcoming and treat customers with the utmost respect nothing is too much trouble for them.If you are in the area I would pay this place a visit as I can assure you it will be memorable, and you will return time and time again.

We have eaten here several times and always find the food excellent. They have gluten free options which is great for me. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful despite being very busy.

Where to start... The restaurant does not have much of an atmosphere. The decor feels like a retirement home dining room.The Bruschetta bread was not toasted and resembled a soggy tomato sandwich. The garlic bread was underdone and mostly inedible. The pizzas were swimming with grease and had brick hard bases. The children felt they were inferior to a cheap store bought pizza. The chicken had the congealed texture of a cheap frozen factory prepared item. Hats off to the guy on the deep fat fryer. The skins and the chips were the highlight of the visit. The service was mostly good. The young staff were on the ball. Perhaps someone more senior should be checking what’s coming out of the kitchen...

Today 14th August would have been our Dad's 83rd birthday. But unfortunately he passed away earlier this year. So my brother.And I and my sister-in-lawAnd nephew.decided to try marina vista for a meal. We all had starters. And then our meal.which where really nice.the place was really nice and the staff where really nice and friendly too. I would return for another meal.

We visit when we are on holiday in the area and it is always a highlight. The food is outstanding and the service is great. I always have something from the specials board and have never been disappointed. The steaks and seafood are excellent and freshly made to order. Have visited since Covid and the hygiene is very through. The views over the marina are lovely.

It was great to have a return visit to one of our favourite restaurants in our area. The location is fabulous, with views over the marina. The experience was a little different due to Covid implementations, but the food and service was exactly as it had always been, perfect. Staff were very attentive and the choice of food excellent. We ended up having a 3 course meal each, there were 3 of us. It was fabulous to return to a somewhat new normal. The experience was superb, especially special as it was our first meal out since Lockdown.

Normally would have gone to Marina Vista for mother’s day lunch, but due to present situation we had take away, food was still very good. Served in tin foil dishes there was ample food. Looks like they are now doing a delivery service, we’ll done to Adam, Tracey and all staff. This will not be the last time for take away but hopefully soon all will be back to normal and enjoying the friendliness and ambience of this great restaurant. Thanks again

Just popped in for Lunch and had to say the service and food are both excellent - we only had 45 minutes and were all wrapped up in 35. Will defiantly be back back - next time hopefully with the family

Dined at Marina Vista last Friday, 16th birthday family meal. Food was exquisite, service unrivaled, Welcome very warming all staff very helpful and efficient. There was something on the menu for everyone from pastas to fillet steak and even a children's menu for the little ones.Thank you Marina Vista for a great and successful evening

Visited tonight with hubby. Good starter. Main was nice. We Had two Irish coffees , one had whiskey in, the other certainly didn't. Have had better than this in the past. Disappointed this visit.

A brilliant night to celebrate the New Year! The food was fantastic (with the best calzone) and the atmosphere was great. The staff are so friendly with little touches of party poppers to bring in 2020.

Have been frequenting the Marina Vista for a number of years now (and even remember the place when it was called The Flying Pizza). It has undergone several management changes over the years and can now boast as one of the nicest Italian eateries in Sunderland. Staff are attentive and friendly and food is good - check out the specials board for some fine fish dishes!Reasonably priced and family friendly. It offers lovely views of the marina and has a good selection of meat and fish dishes, pasta and pizza.Definitely recommend.

We booked this for a Saturday lunchtime, and offered to pre-order our starters and main courses. (Desserts were chosen directly on the day.) The choices were delivered on the Friday, so we could order from the 'Specials' board if we wanted to. When we arrived to eat our table was set ready for us. Tap water, and breads/olives/dips were put down, then drinks orders taken and supplied. Everyone's food was wonderful. Drinks were topped up and nothing was too much trouble. We had family from Sheffield and Birmingham with us, and the food and service were wonderful. They loved the views, too.THANK YOU, Marina Vista.

Found this while searching for restaurants close to where we were staying and certainly wasn't disappointed. We could tell we had chosen well when staff were greeting regular visitors. The restaurant had a really chilled atmosphere and this was despite two birthdays being celebrated on the night. Food was awesome. I had crab and avocado to start with which had chilli to give it a nice kick. My wife had the garlic mushrooms and was really impressed with the quality and the quantity. For mains we both selected the king prawn and salmon in a thermador sauce. Finally my wife left some room for a tiramasu. I would highly recommend this restaurant and when we are back in Sunderland, we will certainly be visiting again.

Sailing but needed somewhere to eat. Here recommend and my was it busy with locals. Good service nice food at a good price. Bar had a good view of the lit marina and town. Free parking. Would be happy to go again any time

We have been hear a few times and although not every visit was great we decided to give the restaurant another chance, unfortunately that was a mistake, it was a Sunday night and only about 6 people in but we still waited about 35 mins for our starters, we then waited about 40 mins for our main which when brought out was the wrong main, my wife’s salmon main dish was disgusting far too much oil and undercooked, it’s a shame as the staff are very polite and professional but maybe they need more staff in the kitchen, sadly we will not be returning because 2/3 visits have been very poor!

The rest was very quiet so the service was good.it was a very pleasant venue with a nice view over the harbour. The meal was delicious and very reasonably priced.

After a nice walk along the riverside on a Saturday morning, my husband and I called in to Marina Vista for lunch. We were welcomed in straight away and offered a table by the window, with views over the Marina.

Here for Sunday lunch. Not disappointed one bit. Although service initially was a wee bit slow, the quality of the food more than made up for the delay. Tempura prawns starter, well the best ever, very succulent and delicious. Very comprehensive Italian menu. Our party was most satisfied with their fare most enjoyable meal. Will return soon.

Visited here on a Wednesday night. Restaurant was fairly empty so we were able to get window seats. Food was absolutely outstanding and service was also 1st class. Quickly becoming our favourite restaurant to eat in. Never change please!!

Made our regular visit to the Marina Vista and it was good to see that the car park which is nearly always full of public parking has now got a new camera system in place thereby restricting access to genuine customers of the units.

Wow marina vista is such a lovely family run restaurant with a lovely feel. It was moderately busy we were greeted by very friendly staff the views were amazing. The carvery was fabulous so tasty and so much choice of vegetables and meat . Excellent drink selection lots of choice for wines. The desserts were beautifully presented throughly enjoyed the syrup sponge with custard. Service, food and atmosphere excellent.

Felt like a review needed to be wrote to praise the young waiting staff. Greeted by 2 very young friendly staff members. We arrived around 6:30 we were sat down and we were given a few minutes to decide our drinks. Excellent selection. We ordered our food it was amazing the food is always to an excellent standard. It was a very busy night with every table occupated.The 2 young waiting staff did excellent. I have to say a huge well done to the staff and kitchen it was a very busy night. Visited sunday 26th may night around 7pm it was very busy the full restaurant was packed the 2 young waiting staff were fab got us sat down drinks taking and we enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was excellent. Both staff deserve a medal for how busy it was. Even though it was busy the service, food and atmosphere views were amazing. Well done to the staff excellent service.

Our friends were delighted with the venue and the fact that lots of the guests seemed to know us and each other. Very friendly atmosphere and we loved the fact that you could enjoy conversations and were not drowned out by loud music. We were offered the gin of the day and three of us took the waitress up on it. I cannot remember the last time I drank gin and thoroughly enjoyed it. We all had different starters and mains and there was ample choice. All the tables were full but we had excellent service and meals arrived in a timely fashion. Had a great night.

Arrived around 6:30 sunday night it was very busy the 2 young waiting staff caught there names Sean and Lauren did an amazing job worked very well together both so friendly. Both staff were so knowledgeable and couldn't do more to help nothing was a problem. Took orders and drinks very efficiently. Everything spot on with food eapecially with the big party and lots of walk ins. The decor is amazing this is our second visit and it will not be our last the food service and atmosphere was great. It was very busy for a Sunday night both the waiting staff managed great by helping each other out. Food and drinks order taken efficiently and received in a timely manner. Very good team work with them communicating to each other. Would be highly appreciative if you could let kitchen know food amazing and to let sean and Lauren know amazing service will definetly be visiting again hope to see you all again very soon. Restaurant is a must.

Arrived at 7.00 on Sunday night, not packed but very busy. Decided to have 6 starters, tapas style. Not offered on menu but easily accepted. Meal arrived quickly, every dish was hot and beautifully served. Excellent. As always, friendly, helpful staff. A smashing meal (and the wine was lovely!)

Arrived around 6:45 on sunday night greeted by very friendly staff they allowed us to take any seat which we admired the view of the marina. Drinks order taken promptly loved all the selection of drink so much choice . Food was delicious all cooked to perfection beautifully presented. This restaurant is a hidden gem and you can tell they they have high expectations on the service they provide and the food prepared as it was fabulous all round.Definetly worth a visit. Be booking up very soon. Definetly be recomnending. Sterling efforts to the 2 young staff members give praise when it needs to be given.

This is our second visit to this restaurant and it was just as good as the first. We had crayfish starter, my husbands main was chicken with pasta I had plaice both meals were very good we finished with sticky toffee pudding and I had Malteaser ice cream . Food and service was good

We found this by accident while walking around the Marina. Food and service was first class. We had mussels to start which were top notch, and Sea Bass languini which was mouth wateringly superb. We would highly recommend this little gem. ****

We have been here on previous occasions. Fortunately we had booked a table as it was very busy which is great to see. Service was lovely, staff were friendly, food was excellent and the staff went the extra mile with some of our food requests. Had lunch here with a friend last week. I usually have the same thing every time I visit - Pollo Bella Vista - but this time I had Pollo Campagnola (chicken with a mushroom and cream sauce and rice). It was very nice. The Marina Vista lives up to its name - there are lovely views over the Marina. The staff are very friendly. I have never had a bad experience visiting this place and would recommend it to anyone.

Had a family get together here last night and had a great meal. Decided on the sea bass and king prawns on linguine - definitely a good choice. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Looking forward to our next visit.

It is a couple of years since I was here, as I only visit the area once a year. The visit was midweek in March and so out of season, so not many diners. The welcome was very good and plenty time to check the menu without being rushed.

Absolutely lovely meal I had seafood chowder for starters with place for main as did the wife the daughter had chicken, lovely bottle of merlot followed by coffee no room for desserts, excellent service from friendly staff

Regularly visit this restaurant every 6 weeks or so to meet up with old colleagues and we always receive a friendly welcome. The lunchtime happy hour menu is good value with a decent choice of starters and main courses. If you like your latte really hot just ask and your wish is their command. Just the way I like it piping hot.

After our first visit here for Sunday lunch, it immediately went to number one spot for. The meats are beautifully cooked and the fresh vegetables, home made Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes are wonderful.

Had the pleasure to dine at this marina location with a small family group and with a large party. Always fine food, I do like the pizzas here as they are made from fresh produce and not a defrosted job lot. Would recommend this establishment as it is good value, no rush, plenty free parking, although you better off walking as the beer is also v good.

We have been to this restaurant many times for their traditional Italian food and heave never been disappointed. But I can give a special recommendation to their Sunday lunch. It is buffet style and very good quality. You can have as much as you want and the meat is beautiful as are the yorkshires. We have been going for a number of years and I think that the food has improved since it changed hands and it was good before. It also has a very nice view of the harbour if you are lucky enough to go when it is light and you have a window seat.

Headed to this restaurant after spending the day in Sunderland. Booked a window table for four of us. Service was good, we were warned in advance that due to a large party we may have to wait a little while for our order... we all ordered starters and main course with wine and beer. Starters came out in good time and were enjoyed by all. Mains followed a short time later and again were of a high quality and decent size. Various dishes ordered from pizza to pasta but everybody really enjoyed their plate. Would 100 per cent recommend this place as the food, service and price all exceeded expectations. A great place to eat.

Have visited previously, but my first for Christmas lunch. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner, I had the beef with dauphinois pots, exceptional! The 4 courses were equally delicious and good value for money. Atmosphere was festive and friendly and I was lucky enough to be served by an extremely pleasant young lady who had fabulous earrings! She had great customer service and was a credit to the restaurant. Making our Christmas Day a real treat!

We come to marina vista every so often and we noticed many changes the decor is lovely much more bright. Excellent choice of drinks particularly enjoyed the hobgoblin. The food was amazing the soup from this restaurant so tasty. We opted for carvery which was was amazing excellent choice.The service was excellent all the times i have been in today was amazing very efficient 15.12.18 we were sat down straight away no build up in seating area everyone was sat down soon as they came in seemed to be different system with table plan and we were highlighted off and they took our drinks and explained the process and explained if were wanting a smaller carvery for the child that we needed to ask the chef for a voucher and that it was 5.95 very informative. The 5 staff that were in as I counted how many bit of a person who likes to give credit when its due were amazing all worked very well together. I will be looking forward to coming back hopefully book up for next week the changes that have been made are excellent and would love for this review to be shared with the staff who worked this lunch. We went for dessert loved the extra touch ordered the strawberry cheesecake so they put strawberry rose very christmasy and sticky caramel sponge they put caramel rose lots of thought when into the food and excellent service.

Not a good experience. The restaurant was cold and draughty and when the food finally came it was cold and one of our party did not get anything and the staff had to be reminded. I am afraid I won't be back. To add insult to injury I won a meal for two at this place in a recent raffle. I am afraid I wont be bothering to take it up.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch today. Wine for be and larger for beardy. Decided on a shared meat and cheese platter to start. Cured meats, mozzarella cheese, salad, olives (black and green) and a picalily - was lovely x. Followed this by a chicken Kiev pizza for me and meatballs with linguine for beardy- food was grand and the service was lovely too. Will be returning soon.
