Marquis Of Granby in East Riding of Yorkshire

What a lovely pub - with really nice meals. We stayed for a weekend in one of the dog friendly rooms and had a brilliant weekend. Lovely staff and very friendly locals. Bumper the spaniel was a particular attraction and made friends with our Labrador! This is a great location with lovely beach walks. A great pub to stay at for a weekend away.

Stopped by last minute the other weekend, think they were just turning everything off in kitchen but lovely landlady accommodated us no problem. My husband and son both had the stew and dumplings which they really enjoyed. Cosy atmosphere and clean, definitely be back.

I spent a night here recently having organised a short break for myself in the area. I received a warm and friendly welcome from the owner on my arrival in what is a lovely old pub and after a short wait was given the key to my room which was very reasonably priced. The accommodation is outside and my room was at the end of the block close to the outside seating area. I guess this could be a little noisy at certain times but ideal if you want to be "close to the action". Having enquired the previous day about the availability of breakfast and been told it would be served from 9.30am I was disappointed to be told that there was to be no breakfast. I knew that no food was being served during the day of my arrival as I had been informed that it was a special occasion for the owners but I had counted on having a breakfast before my departure in the morning prior to the events I had planned. My room was quite adequate, a few issues such as the smoke alarm hanging by wires from the ceiling and no toilet roll holder but nothing serious. My main concern was that it hadn't been pointed out to me that no towels (not even a hand towel), shower mat or toiletries were provided - I had to improvise in the morning by using a pillow case to dry myself! The Marquis of Granby is a lovely old place in a great location but in my opinion the guests deserve better.

Booked a table no one showed which table so sat at empty one told to move as a party of six had booked and there was only two of us . The food was ok but we had to for an hour for it used to be a lovely place won't be going back

Lovely hosts, lovely atmosphere, fabulous food, oh dear, diet gone south, pudding, called in at short notice, no worries, food done within a short amount of time, piping hot and sooooooo good, unlike the crown and anchor at kilnsea rude ignorant troll running the bar, obviously dosent need money because he wasn't interested in playing nice to paying customers, horrible place don't bother, get to the granby yumyum

Really nice home made food and plenty of it. Accommodation very clean and beds so comfortable. Exceptional rates will definitely stay there on next visit. Landlady very friendly and makes you feel very welcome

To the people who says they found a cat hair you are lying you didn't come and complain as it would have been rectified other people outside says it was an eyelash as for eating your food one of you ate most of the meal and you didn't come to bar and say anything as people seem you leaving you need to grow up

Had Sunday lunch. Absolutely delicious huge portions of tasty beef and gammon with all the trimmings. Friendly and welcoming. Dogs spoilt too. Thanks again.

Cat hair found in food, food not homemade, ended not eating it, complained got a sorry from the person who served us, no apology from chef, no refund, wouldn't feed it to my dog, but no wonder with 18 cats and one walks into kitchen when we was there.

Stayed three nights bed and breakfast. Also had evening meals there. Had a fantastic time...brilliant hosts, comfortable chalet and great food and drink. The hosts, Jo and Simon had only taken over the lease a week before my arrival and they couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. Excellent location in Easington with ample on site parking. Strongly recommend the Marquis of Granby.

Lovely pub with good atmosphere however the staff members are either rude and ignorant on purpose or should leave thr industry if your job doesn’t make you happy! Our order wasn’t quite right, not one but two staff members dealt with us and still didn’t amend the meals before settling the bill It’s such a shame the service let the day down I’d suggest training days or a good work moral to jazz the pub back into swinging business

Haven't visited in a few years. Used to be a lovely friendly pub but now has an atmosphere. Bar maid is borderline rude and has a stick up her bum. Used to be such a lovely place it's such a shame. Won't be visiting again unfortunately.

Clean and comfortable overnight accommodation, excellent value. Really delicious home-made lasagne for dinner. Lovely peaceful village setting.

The staff at this pub are rude and aggressive it used to be a lovely environment until new bar manager took over and employed friends as staff who try to intimidate people and refuse people entry who they don't like..........please do not visit!!!

Disgusting shower unit. Somebody needs to report to health and safety. Overcharged at beginning but then reimbursed later. Breakfast very poor for the amount charged.

Ordered steak and chips and gravy. Nothing else which was included.Asked for onion free gravy as I'm allergic. Came with onion rings. Told the server. She said no problem, bent over my place and took the onion rings off WITH HER FINGERS!!! Steak was 50%edible, gravy was ju...water with a teaspoon of bisto..awful. what a shame. Lovely pub but staff haven't got a clue! Still it was bought cheap so staff refect that in my opinion!

Poor menu and low quality food. Veggie burger was like a cheap one from Aldi. No effort made for the salad and not cheap prices. Venue has a lot of potential if food was nicer.

My partner & I booked a night to stay in the chalet. We also booked a table to eat & watch the euro semi final. As a previous chef myself, I can say the food is excellent. Perfectly home made. Highly recommended
