Nikhil amazing service with a smile, and some great cocktails! Great guy :)

I came here many years ago when it re-opened as the Martello Hall and I found it expensive also not very good then. The barman serving me whose name I think was Alex was rude, condensing and got offended when I told him how to pour Guinness correctly. In the past I have worked in bars with lots of Irish customers and my first team leader was a man who loved Guinness so passed that on to me. The barman didn't seem to know what Cask Ale was which is fault. The Bar is not disabled friendly and the toilet is poorly sign posted. £13+ for 2 drinks is a disgrace. They need an area where music isn't blasted so people can talk to each other.

We had a great experience for our Christmas party with Guljar doing a cocktail mazherclass! Especially loved the margaritas and will definitely be back for future events!

Lovely staff! Celebrated my 30th there and had the best time. Nikhil was a joy to have behind the bar all night.

I'm sorry to have to leave this review as I've been here a few years ago and it was delightful. 1) poor range of brunch food choices. Either pizza, 1 chicken dish or salads. No "brunch" food which they used to have 2) our server chose to welcome us by lecturing us about how we can't get more alcohol 3 mins before the end of our booking. And that we would have to order food too so that we could have something in our stomachs. I understand that people do take the mick at a brunch, but I thought it was an extremely abrupt way to welcome someone to their table. Additionally we were 2 women, not a large party. 3) we were then ignored for 10/15mins, no food or drinks orders taken. They had left us empty cocktail ingredients on the table. I had to ask for service on 4 separate occasions. When the food came I asked for black pepper...I had to ask again as the person had forgotten. The cocktail bowl was extremely watery and we asked for it to be taken away. 4) when the bill was put on our table we asked to remove the service charge. The person was clearly unhappy about this, and didn't speak to us upon her return with the amended bill. Nor when she took our payments 5) the chicken "sandwich" which is make it yourself style comes with one slice of bread cut in half. I did speak to the manager at the end of our meal. It was busy but not full. A real shame as this used to be a lovely place. The pizza was lovely however.

Food and drinks were great! Came for a bottomless brunch and it was great fun - Helen (our waitress) was great and extremely attentive! Highly recommend.

Guljar was a wonderful cocktail master and handled the class amazingly. Would defo recommend for future parties.

Last night, I went to my friend’s birthday party, and it was a blast! The upstairs bar had an awesome atmosphere, and the pizzas were to die for. Definitely give them a try! The service was top-notch, and Nikhil was super friendly and made us feel right at home. There was also another bartender, Nikala, who was great and really good at making drinks. Overall, I highly recommend this place!

We shared the Samson pizza and zucchini fries which were top notch. A Salted Caramel martini was lovely to finish the night. I would like to give a big shout out to Miranda for her impeccable and faultless service.

Really nice pub. Great atmosphere. Really let down by limited, lacklustre, repetitive, protein-less vegan options. Fine for a one off.

A lovely cozy pizza place. Nice atmosphere and some of the best pizzas I've tried in london. I've been back multiple times and will be back again. Team are also very patient and informative.

Good food but very slow service. Some very friendly staff members working very hard and others looking a bit lost. Needs better management and an extra cook.

We absolutely love Martello Hall! We have a weekly ritual of going there every Monday for pizza after our kids swimming lessons. The pizza is really incredible and all of the staff are so friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.

We came across Martello Hall on a stroll down Mare St. It was nice and inviting and the drinks were decent. The only problem was the sound system. It was of a poor quality, the music was brilliant and really well selected, but it was distorted and we could hardly hear it when the bar got busier and it spoiled our experience. If the system was sorted, I would return in a heartbeat and bring more friends. It would be a cool hangout on a weekend.

Celebrated my fiancés 30th birthday here on Saturday. Great vibe and the food and drinks were all top notch. We booked the private terrace upstairs where we were hosted by Darren who did a mega job of making sure we were looked after. Highly recommend

Rey, Nikhil & Devika were the most wonderful and accommodating people! They managed to work well regarding my allergies and they made me feel at home! I have not had perfect service in a long time, so seeing the staff be happy and loving their jobs while having an amazing environment for costumers is just one of a kind! Thank you Martello Hall will come back with my family!

The rustic vibe of the building is very nice. The floor staff is kind of a disappointment, but it is quickly overshadowed by the exceptional bar staff. Specifically to mention Harrison, Nikhil and the other girl, were very nice and funny. The drinks were really nice and they also gave some good suggestions. I add this to my regular places to visit. Definitely check out.

had to wait a long time for food but young gentleman in the long hair was very apologetic and took off one meal. delicious once arrived.

Martello towers were defensive structures built around the country to fend off Napoleon. The only defences needed at Martello Hall are ear defenders. After a brusque welcome from the door staff, who were almost as numerous as punters, we paid over the odds for some mediocre drinks. Conversation with friends was rendered nigh impossible by the loudness of the music, which seemed to be inversely proportional to the number of customers. When we were the last table standing, we asked for the music to be turned down but were ignored. Huge credit, however, to the friendly bar staff who were kind, quick and humorous.

Hosted a private event at Martello Hall and had the best experience. The atmosphere was great and they served great food and drinks for a reasonable price. All our guest had a great time and great things to say about the venue. Will be hosting more events here in the future and cant recommend enough. Also thank you to Ashley and our great bar tenders for being so great and accommodating.

Super nice place, we stopped by for a drink on our way to a restaurant. The atmosphere is great, the pub has a very industrial design and an interesting architecture. The drinks were good.

I visited Martello Hall for some drinks with my friends, I served by Niomi and she is really nice bartender treats you friendly.

The toilets smell like a rabbit cage. It’s so so bad. The staff are so nice and the DJs are great but the place needs some loving

I stumbled upon this pub by chance while my colleagues and I were searching for a place to enjoy mocktails at lunchtime. One of my colleagues noticed the rooftop terrace, and we decided to give it a try. I don't usually write positive reviews, but the exceptional service we received compelled me to share my experience. My colleague and I sat on the roof terrace, and the bar staff repeatedly made their way upstairs to take our drink and food orders and then deliver them. Despite the extra effort, he was unfailingly nice, friendly, and hospitable. When one of our orders arrived very late, the staff member didn't charge us for it and even split the bill correctly to make it easier for us to pay. His customer service was outstanding.The passionafruit mocktail was amazing with real passionfruit juice and fruit.

My friend works at Martello and she invited me to eat here. Had a queen bee pizza made by Raghav. I am still thinking about it 6 hours on. Will definitely be coming here and to all the other branches!! 😊

Came here for drinks and it was just terrible. Awful cocktails, including really simple ones like negronis. I don't know how they managed to make them so wrong. Also, excessively loud music trying to make up for the lack of atmosphere. And a clientele which seemed like out of town stag and hen do types.

Went with a group of 10, despite there only being one other table, our food came out incredibly slowly and vastly different times. One dinner had finished for over 10 minutes before others got food. Only one waitress? Food was bland, asked for salt/pepper/chilli oil which never arrived. It was clear why there was only two tables, probably the worst experience of the Hall chain

Had the best experience doing the cocktail masterclass with Naomi. She was kind, friendly and knowledgeable. We booked for my girlfriend's birthday and it was such good value and worth doing , would definitely do again!

Came for some late night food over going to Mare Street and it was 100% worth it. Levi was great with recommendations and instant service. Miles was also on it with making sure our food was great and we had everything we needed.

Must stop by for a coffee at Martello’s! Fun and friendly management and amazing coffee! Great for a quiet place to work also. Loved it!

Horrifically bad service, very basic over priced food. One of the worst places I've been in the whole of London. Would recommend avoiding this place at all costs. Extremely disappointing.

Pretty poor for a large group. Too noisy to talk to anyone other than the person next to you. The pizza I had ordered never turned up. Poor service and clearly short staffed! Told it’ll come and it never did….
