Martha's Grill & Bar in Swindon

Please don't attempt to book at this restaurant or hotel, this was closed a couple of years ago and has recently been the subject of a large fire. Right next door to a retail park, guess what will happen next?

Have used as a meeting place many times & decided to have lunch with a friend here - big mistake. Her welsh rabbit did not resemble its description & was inedible. Will not be returning & the service was also dreadful.

Vine por trabajo en septiembre por 4 días y comimos aquí cada noche donde tuve un plato de mejillones increíble pero también una decepcionante plato de pato. Ahora, de vuelta por una noche y la comida más ha mejorado mucho. Fue bueno antes, pero esta vez increíble. El personal es encantador. No se puede evitar que quería una comida tranquila y eligió a sentarse lejos del coach party que descendió en la zona.

Ordered sweet chilli chicken burger with chips and either salad or coleslaw.. didnt get coleslaw or salad.. no biggy but priced at £10.95 i was hoping for a full plate

se nos saludó por un muy agradable muchacho que fue muy amable y nos dio un gran servicio. Pedimos la comida que venía bastante rápidamente y pensamos que todo iba bien. Luego he utilizado los faciltys y saliendo vi una trampa de ratón en el piso a plena vista que tipo de eclipsado la estupenda experiencia entera. Así que lo siento Martha no era genial para nosotros tampoco!

Should have listened to my instincts when at the bar ordering drinks I watched 2 floater coffees being made in 2 digustingly dirty glasses!!!! I The chicken liver pate I recieved for starter (£5.25) would not have filled a match box.....I left the salad because it was warmish and had an unwashed smell. My dinner did not match the menu description at all and my partners dinner of calves liver was only fit to sole his shoes! No apologies where forthcoming from either the kitchen or the manager,,,,,,,,We left this very empty restaurant (another hint I missed) and had a delicious meal elsewhere!!!! But that's another review!!!

Service was shocking for an empty restaurant and food came overcooked and missing various components. Staff disinterested and slow. Gave up waiting to pay the bill as no staff were interested in either coming to the table or to the main desk when I stood there hoping to get some service. Ended up getting the hotel reception to sort out the bill instead who were far more helpful!

I wrote a review last year declaring this my favourite restaurant in Swindon.

What a find not your normal stuffy hotel restaurant but a great modern space with excellent staff and grgeat food.

We went to Martha's Grill and Bar for lunch. When we arrived no-one greeted us at the door. The place was empty and we actually had to ask if they were actually open!We ordered two plates of fish and chips, a vegetarian pizza and two drinks (for £30). The fish was quite small, chips were ok but the pizza was rock hard (couldn't even cut it with my knife!), had hardly any toppings on it and worse of all of a few sprinkles of cheese!! Whist the restaurant is clean, modern and spacious, the service was poor and the food was awful.
