Masala Twist City Centre in Glasgow City

Paani Puri and Samosa chaat (picture attached) are my favourite dishes from Masala Twist and also in general in the world. By far, the only Indian Restaurant in Glasgow which serves authentic Indian food with authentic flavours. I have tried all the vegetarian dishes they serve and have felt just as I were in India enjoying these dishes! The staff has unparalleled hospitality. They’re happy to customise the dishes on demand however I would recommend trying as they make it and that’s good already! Love the food they serve here! update: Must try Daal and Jeera Rice here! Had is after a break here and it reminds you of Daal you really miss from India!

After an exhausting day we had delicious food at the Masala twist. We had the chicken tikka and fish tikka for starters and they both were awesome! Chettinad chicken and naans were delicious and had proper spice and not 'whitewashed' .. thank you Raman for accommodating us and our massive luggage..

Absolutely superb in terms of quality, value for money and service. I chose it because I needed something centraI in Glasgow and the reviews looked positive. Friendly, professional welcome at the door. I had the lunchtime menu which for a little over 10 pounds was very good value. Actually I got an extra Garlic coriander naan off the menu because they looked great. Plus a big pot of jasmine tea. They kindly made the chicken chaat starter a little spicier for me (small but just fine for a lunchtime deal), and then for the mains I had the South Indian Garlic spicy curry, which I would never usually choose, but I was really happy with it. Great flavours, and highly unusual to get that quality. I would certainly recommend that particular dish. It's refreshing to find somewhere that does real sauces. And the service was very friendly and professional, without being intrusive. Excellent! (Just leaving this image because I never take photos). This is the best Indian meal I've had in Glasgow in several years.

Quality venue and great service from the staff especially ‘T’ Chicken 🐔 tikka starter was great. I went for a spicy 🥵lamb 🐑 dish rated 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ on the menu. Didn’t disappoint either, I’d say similar heat level to vindaloo 🥔 very tasty 😋 I must confess I needed the help of a raita to ensure I polished it off and sent a clean bowl 🍚 back to the kitchen. Well worth a visit, they also do sensible curries for normal people 😂

I recently dined at Masala Twist – City Centre, and it was an amazing experience. I started with their Chat Pati Tokri, a delightful mix of crispy textures and tangy flavors. Next, I tried the Aggis Pakora, which added a unique Scottish twist to a classic pakora, and the Paneer Tikka Shashlik, with smoky, perfectly grilled paneer and vegetables. Every bite was bursting with flavor. While savoring this incredible meal, I realized I needed to send money back home. Found this wee place along from Buchanan Bus Station whilst visiting my home town absolutely fantastic food, and the service we got was fantastic certainly will be back again on our next visit home 10/10

It’s been 4 days in Glasgow now and have tried various restaurants. Finally I found the Tasty Indian food 🥘. Where we have ordered extra tandoori roti 🫓 👍🏼 Great humble and energetic team from Ambala Haryana, Lucknow U.P and Maharashtra with Fast service. Good interaction with few of the staff members. The service here is exceptional. The staff are incredibly attentive and kind, making the experience truly enjoyable. I cannot fault either the service or the restaurant’s décor, which is warm, comfortable, and infused with the charm of an Indian street stall. The street food was good, but I found the curry dish I ordered to be too sweet and sour for my taste. Additionally, the egg rice was disappointing—essentially turmeric-boiled rice with large chunks of egg white. That said, I would happily return, as I believe I may have simply chosen dishes that didn’t suit my palate. The staff were so considerate of my feedback that they adjusted my bill, which was a kind and thoughtful gesture, though it left me feeling slightly guilty, as that wasn’t my intent. Thank you for prioritising customer care—it truly sets you apart.

Excellent - delicious, big portions, just what was needed on a freezing winter day

Not the best Indian restaurant experience. Low portion, not good quality, not very clean tables and plates. Maybe that's why it was so quiet even on Friday night.

Popped in for lunch with a friend last week. I ordered garlic chilli chicken. TBH I couldn't eat it as it just tasted like it was full of fennel. I asked the waiter for another dish which was no better. I go to the sister restaurant in East Kilbride which I have always enjoyed so I was very disappointed in this offering. On top of that they still charged me even though I didn't eat it.

It tasted amazing. The gulab jamun could have had more syrup but tasted amazing anyway. I am upset that although I paid for two mango lassis (one size) they came in one of them had less due to being in a smaller bottle.

Was hyped by many Indians and it looked average at its best. Visited today with my friend as this was first time for both of us there. I recommended going there but it's abysmal the time we have to wait for every dish to be served. Chilli chicken was very average and Chole bhature was okayish.Bacardi was the only thing to mention as a positive. £54 for two people today promising each other that we are never coming back here.

We had the lunch deal, which is very favorable price-wise. But above all, it was all very tasty!

Delicious food and great service. I was craving Indian cuisine and stumbled upon this quaint little gem. The best meal so far of our visit to Glasgow. We visited Masala Twist this past Wednesday, and sadly, our experience was quite unpleasant. While the food and staff were decent, the behavior of what seemed to be two senior managers or people in authority left us extremely disappointed. They were fighting, one of the managers, a lady in whites, was shouting like hell right in front of customers, creating a tense and uncomfortable atmosphere. Though the staff tried their best to remain professional and handle the situation, it was clear they were embarrassed. It’s unfortunate because the team seemed polite and willing to help, but this incident completely overshadowed the positives. Such unprofessional conduct is unacceptable, and unfortunately, we won't be returning. A restaurant should not only serve good food but also maintain a welcoming and harmonious environment, and Masala Twist failed in this regard.

Wow what a find tucked away down the side street. Delicious is how I would describe the food , taste and aroma of this beautiful restaurant , top marks to the Chef and the waitering staff excellent service. Good value for money my new go to when in Glasgow. Thank you all

We both had the Malai Kofta with egg fried rice and it was incredible. The garlic naan was also really good and buttery. Not only that but it was also very affordable. The servers were very polite and attentive. The overall atmosphere in the restaurant was also very positive. I would definitely recommend eating here!

The service was good, great environment, but the quality of food need a lot improvement We ordered from the Street of India. Pav Bhaji vegetables were not mashed properly and without taste, Papdi chaat - papdi were soggy.

Use to be a regular customer since an year. Like the veg food here. Few months back, the prices were increased a bit which is okay. But recently the portion sizes have been further reduced. Pav in the vada pav, quantity in chole bhature, any gravy or even the sizes of the naan everything has shrunk. Wonder what drove this, makes me think now before I plan a visit. The staff is good.

I dined with someone with extensive allergies, despite this the chef's were able to suggest a multitude of menu options and ensured their food was seperate from contaminants. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. We arrived and it was somewhat busy and were served without delay. I found the menu to be fantastic, in particular, the 'street food' options were a welcome change from the traditional menus seen in most Indian restaurants. I have been back twice since my initial visit and found it consistently fantastic. Our collective order consisted of a main, rice, a dozen poppadoms, 3 sides/starters and 2 drinks totaling less than £30. I would recommend a try to absolutely anyone.

Not for Indians I’m afraid… food is tasteless. We ordered starters first and everything tasted so bad…. Nothing close to Indian food. We couldn’t even finish that and didn’t order any main. Ended up eating in McDonalds nearby for that night.

I recently dined at Twist Masala and would give it 4 out of 5 stars. The Chicken Butter was exceptional-rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. However, the atmosphere was a bit off due to the open kitchen right next to the tables. The strong onion smell was distracting, which took away from the experience. Despite this, the food quality makes it worth a visit, especially for the Chicken Butter.

Service was good, but chicken curry and egg fried rice were really bad experience. Didn’t expect this at all very bad taste and rice was so sticky

Our search for Indian food ended here. The food was very delicious. Even in India we won't find such delicious food. We visited 6 times in 4 days here. We tried different dishes every time we visited. Also the staff work here are very nice and caring. We found more foreigners than Indians here enjoying the Indian food very much. The must go place for Indian food if you are in Glasgow.👍👍👍

What a great evening...! Although it was initially only our second choice, we didn't regret going to Masala Twist for a second. We received a very warm welcome and were really happy about our visit. Since the selection is quite large, we were offered to make recommendations, but we were able to make our own choice. After Naan (with cheese, wonderfully fluffy) and Haggis Pakora (super fresh and delicious), we decided on Lamb Malaidar and the classic Chicken Tikka Masala. The spiciness levels are already indicated on the menu and we were wondering whether the 2 chilies would be too spicy for our western stomachs (even though we like spicy food). Our worries were unfounded, both dishes were terrific, excellently seasoned, the meat was extremely tender, we ate everything down to the last crumb. Kashish and her team, who seemed like a big family to us, invited us to a small, sweet dessert to round off the evening. It was so delicious, we would love to come back. Thanks!!!

Popped in on the last day of a walking holiday with my friend. Seated as soon as we walked in by Kashish, she was super friendly and the place has a really nice atmosphere. Food was absolutely outstanding. Had some fried starters, a couple of mains and a garlic and coriander naan. Absolutely delicious. Kashish and our other server Tanishq were absolutely fantastic. Attentive without being overbearing. Can't recommend this place enough. Definitely a highlight of the trip!

We came from london. It was amazing ambience and relaxing for us with proper indian vibes. Tanshiq really helped us with recommendations. Pavbhaji is must try here. Also kadai paneer was good. Loved it!

Had a very bad experience with the staff there. I’ve been there with my friends. One of my friends ordered masala chaas and it was too salty. When she said the same thing to one of the staff members there they gave a very rude reaction to her by saying this is the way it’s supposed be made. We only make it this way. Rather than listening to her about adding a little yogurt or water to it to make it better. One of the staff girl was making weird faces towards our group too. It was the worst experience we’ve had. We ordered Manchurian, chaat bombs(dahi golgappe). Manchurian was nice but Chaat bombs were bland. In mains we ordered Punjabi kadhi pakoda and tandoori roti which were alright. I’d not recommend this place cause of staff and their behaviour. If you do wanna try food better get a delivery at home.

Excellent food esp Pav Bhaji, Tea, Curry and Dal. Tanishq was very friendly at serving and knowledgeable at the recommendation. Good vide inside, loved interior of the restaurant. Taste better than London restaurants. Highly recommended as a London resident travelling to Scotland.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience today. My family and I have visited this restaurant several times in the past and always found it good, but today’s experience changed our perspective entirely. In the middle of our meal, the waiter abruptly asked us to move to another table because there was another group coming and they had to join the tables to accommodate them. This was not only disruptive but also highly unprofessional , it shows how bad the planning is. We reluctantly moved to avoid creating a scene, but it completely ruined our dining experience. The lack of consideration for customers' comfort and enjoyment is unacceptable. Being asked to move during a meal shows a complete disregard for customer service. I will not be returning to this restaurant, and I urge others to think twice before dining here. There are plenty of other establishments that value their patrons and provide a much better dining experience
