I just love this place, every time I come back to Leicester I am sure to visit. It does delicious Ethiopian food that is super cheap. The staff are friendly and always happy to help and they sell some traditional spices and flour.

Absolutely in love with this café. I really enjoyed my short black coffee and the character and atmosphere in this place. I'm an Australian, modern, award winning coffee roaster. It was so lovely to have a characterful, flavoursome coffee that tastes of origin. It's dark but unusual. If you want the usual bitter flavourless muck served in the UK, don't bother. Cash only, super special cultural experience. Recommended.

Homely atmosphere. I tried only the egg sandwich, and it was delicious. Best in the city for seasoning and palette sense. Delicious and will return!

Hate to say it. But, wow. It was a bad experience. The friend I brought with me still reminds me of how bad it was to this day. It's a running joke now. I fail to see how the reviews are so high. Maybe they didn't like the look of us? Because we were served cold, old food. The lentils must have been many days old. The baskets were dirty. I struggled to eat anything. And asked the server to eat with us to see his reaction. I've eaten great Eritrean and Ethiopian many times in the past. This was a huge let down. It really surprised me.

Awesome Eritrean food. Located in city centre, the facilities are not the best, but that resolves with the good food. The Lamb was really good and the vegetarian options as well. Food is 5*

Its very amazing food. I like the tradition Habesha food, which is delivered with Enjera (እንጀራ). The most I like East African made and very amazing service. I like it.

What a little gem! Basic surroundings but fantastic food! Pictured here is a meat dish in the middle, surrounded by a kind of dhal. The flatbread on the bottom is called injeera, and you use it to scoop up the food and eat with your hands.

We ordered Shezwan chips, Jeera wings, pomfret fish, chicken karahi, vaghreli kichdi and garlic naan. Pomfret fish was best, nice taste and spiced well. Shezwan chips and Jeera wings, very spicy though tasty. Chicken Karahi was good, however i was disappointed with vaghreli kichdi which was more like Jeera rice, not kichdi at all. The naan was very soggy and tasted oily. Apart from that a very good experience. Service was top notch by the gentleman. He was very friendly and welcoming. The complementary ambli lollipop was wow. Would go back to try out more of the fish dishes as they seemed really appealing.
