Massis in City of London, Westminster

I got a table for yesterday night. It was an important business meal and we realized the place was closed when we were there. I tried to call, and I sent a message on Google. no answer.It's a big shame. Even today, no mail, anything. I'm so disappointed. Happy New Year!

First time having Lebanese food—what a great experience! Delicious lamb, hummus, falafels, etc. Lovely evening and definitely worth a visit.

To be honest, the shisha is not a mistake, and its price is 43 pounds, it is expensive, but the seat is nice.. I enjoyed the Turkish restaurant with a fancy food corner next to it, and then I came here just for the shisha

It was a really cold evening, but I was starving for hunger and the food seemed to be tasty. So I decided to take a seat in the restaurant area, even it is more a shisha bar. I had a some grilled lamb with a Lebanese salad and a chocolate cake. The waiter suggested an other seat, more away from the cold wind, which was much better than that I chose initially. The lamb was grilled perfectly, not dry and very good seasoned. The salad was very spicy and really hot. I liked that contrast with the meat. Espresso and cake were also good and completed the dinner. It's a shame I did not find time to come back for dinner in summer with better weather.

Coming here was a mistake and it will not happen again This is a shish shop, not a restaurant I ordered an old clear grill and it was reheated and it made me feel bad Clear rice coming out of a microwave with steam coming out of it Arayes meat tastes bad Even the french fries are bad here!!! queerness The bread is old and dark and moldy What a loss

Four of us ate here. The vegetarian meze was nice and the contents of the lunch special wrap were nice. The problem was the service. It took an hour to get any food after various chasing. They add a fairly hefty 13.5% service charge. I did not want to ruin the mood of the day out by objecting but normally I would as service was woeful. Lovely little street full of many restaurants. I am used to restrooms being hidden on another floor but here they are down a fairly steep flight of steps.

Sat outside with a lovely meal and fresh juice, shawarma wraps were delicious and staff were friendly, happy with the service and would come back!

It was freezing out while walking the London streets and we were hungry and wanted to warm up. There were a few people sitting outside of Massis with hookahs. The place was small with 5 tables. We decided to give it a shot. The help was great. The food was ok. The inside was colder than outside. The patrons all had coats on and one even a hood. The door opened constantly as the waiter delivered food and hookah to outside patrons. The food was ok: taboule and hummus tasty. The moussaka was more like ratatouille. Couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Food was amazing very delicious. Specially, mixed grill. Staffs are very friendly and quick to deliver foods.

Had such a bad experience with the food and the manager was so impolite with the customer. It's more about money than food. He was so adamant and rude when given genuine feedback of the food. Would never suggest this place to anyone.👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Service and taste are normal. The portions are small, so the value for money is low. As others have pointed out, the service charge is 13.5%. I gave it three stars because it is in central London, but if it were in the suburbs, I would give it two.

Really delicious food. Quite expensive but all very tasty especially the hummus mixed shwarma with pitta. Would visit again.

I love this place for a quick and tasty lunch. The food tastes fresh and the portion sizes are spot on, a lovely place to visit and sit outside enjoying the atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend.

Dreadful dull, poorly presented, and massively overpriced food. The shawarma was the worst I have ever encountered, bread with some meat laid on top, then another bread on top, nothing but small pieces of lamb meat inside, a measly salad (poor contents) and a small pot of sauce for the shawarma. Did not appreciate the head waiter, who tries to come across as your best mate, continually trying to sell other items on the menu, then just standing at the table waiting for a positive response., he will pick up if even one member of the table is thinking about it. ok so this is their job, but not to make the customer feel awkward. This is obviously a tourist hot spot, and the quality of the food and the cost clearly indicate that this is a fast turnover, no care, overpriced restaurant. Four people, four shawarma, 4 soft drinks, one order of falafel, one order humous, and a bit of cake for one.... over £155 quid...I wouldn't mind if the quality was good, if you want a description of average this is it...no effort made for the bucks whatsoever. Never go back and def do not recommend it to anyone .Utter rubbish.

This is a real lebanese restaurant and foods are very testy, I have taken portion of falafel and kafta khashkhash. Kafta Khashkhash spicy sauce made me happy. The staffs are very friendly and quicker to serve the foods. They played some music it made me relax. I was in there restaurant inside but outside people were smoking shisha. When the flavours came to my nose this attracted me very much. My overall rating is very satisfied.

Worth visiting just for the Falafel - crispy on the outside and soft/tasty on the inside. Hummus and Fattoush also very good. Felt the cheese parcels were a little bland and couldn’t taste the pine nuts. Friendly, helpful staff.

A little gem of a restaurant in James Street. It may be small compared to some of the other restaurants here, but you'd be mad to dismiss this restaurant. The Staff were very friendly and the food was amazing.

They have very good shisha we love and hot drinks and snacks I love spending time there and the stuff especially Adrian and Carla wow the are so nice and hard working always serving non stop and taking care of customers

Been wanting to try this reaffirm a while. Went for drinks and dessert- walked up and could see clearly the restaurant wants busy. Asked for a table for three- waiter asked if we will be eating a full meal- we said we’d like drinks and dessert. He then told us he couldn’t accommodate us. Not sure a person of Arabic origin would have got the same response we did. Shocking attitude

DO NOT GO. One of the worst dinners I’ve ever had. Food was late & cold. Service exceptionally poor with no manners. And a casserole came without a casserole. For the price too it’s laughable, so so bad. Save yourself. Lebanese - go to Comptoir As it’s round the corner

The BEST falafel I’ve ever eaten. The tabouli was fresh and tasty, as was everything else we tried. The staff are also so friendly and accommodating. I’ll be back to taste more on the menu…

Enough said!!! They OFFERED to take the pickles off my bill….. REALLY??? They also argued with me about what a turnip is. I asked for the pickles and they told me that the pink things that normally come with it are beets. We dont have those today… If you know anything about Middle Eastern food you know this girl it was confused.

Delicious shawarma and hummus today

Average food and pricey. French fries very oily, no salt. Had to ask for salt and ketchup. The ketchup was cheap and sugary alternative to Heinz. Shawarma wrap had very very crispy bread, it seemed as though the bread was heated for a long time. Not your usual shawarma. Fatouch and Lebanese spicy salad mediocre. Kebab khash khash and ordinary kebab ok. Verbal fight in kitchen between employees not that great in front of customers. Reaks of shisha tobacco not great if your non-smokers and if you have a family with young children.

Avoid if you can, food was very mediocre and pricey as compared to similar food available in that area.. very limited seating space.

Food was delicious and service was very good. Definitely try the almaza beer.

Recently I visited with my friends. We were very satisfied with the service and foods. Service was very quick,professional and friendly.Food were amazing specially Shawarma. I will be back!

They charge 13,5% of service charge for an unexciting service, even more than a Michelin star restaurant. A £70 bill, for nothing special really, I did not like how the food tasted. The waiter came to our table once only and that was to take our order. It's ridiculous.

Thought we would give this restaurant a try. A big big mistake, never again. Waited ages for our drinks when they did arrive nothing special and overpriced!!! The mains took ages to arrive one was a chicken dish which turned out raw in places. I wanted to complain but the other half said no as it had taken ages, maybe they were catching the chicken???? The other dish was just falafel and some pot dish. Which again took ages to cook? Asked for the bill which took ages to arrive and on top of this a 13.5% service charge for what. Could not understand the restaurant was not busy. Will not be recommending this establish to family and friends. Save your money and go elsewhere!!!!

The food is ok but nothing special and certainly not worth the price or experience. The service is terrible and that’s not an exaggeration I have never ever written a negative review for anywhere however honestly is was such a horrible experience. The waitresses had zero customer service skills and clearly didn’t want to be working. A part of me gets it and she probably has to deal with a lot pretentious, self entitled people however not all customers are alike. If you want your drinks slammed on the table, to be greeted with hostility and have to ask for standard items which usually are on most restaurant tables such as salt, pepper, napkins then this is the place for you. If you enjoy second hand smoke then this is also the place for you. As every mouthful is guaranteed with a puff of a strangers exhaled smoke (and tonight Mathew I’d would like Covid). I understand that shisha is a choice at this place however they really really need to designate one side to smokers and one side to non smokers. Or cut it all together and focus on the food and customer service!

Shawarma finished at 5.00pm, even b4 dinner time started. Waiters seems to be more interested looking who is chatting up female waitress. No sauce no bread, until u ask them. Terrible customer service. But they know its not going to effect the business bcoz they are near OXFORD STREET

Sorry guys we were quite disappointed with our experience. We had the lunchtime meal deal this week which just didn't cut it, considering location and other choices of restaurants. Were expecting more from it, the mocha wasn't hot and tasted like something from a packet. The meal deal itself tasted like the garlic mayo wasn't fresh and more from a bulk buy item. Waiter forgot one of our dishes, then when the chicken wings came the meat tasted like when meat isn't washed in preparation. Just all felt a bit off overall. We give it A** LDT x

Had a delicious swarms wrap on the lunchtime deal. Meat was melt in the mouth. Staff helpful with a messy baby. Fairly pricey

Located in the heart of London's shopping district by Oxford Street and Selfridges. Smallish restaurant inside, but with plenty of tables outside, with heaters. Lovely restaurant serving traditional fresh Lebanese food. Service was excellent - fast, polite, friendly and efficient. The food was delicious. Good choice of vegetarian options.

Very tasty food and good service! Price is just normal

Tasty especially Batata Harra but the mains are super pricy. The waiter did not take my order properly, asked for a wrap with 2 starters but ended up with a main and 2 starters which was a bit too much. Note the restaurant doesn't serve wraps in the evening, it's only mains. I would have ordered differently if I knew I would have been served a main...all in all, good but pricy. The manager of the restaurant and cook are really cool so probably worth the visit just for this

Food was mediocre -we had mezze of aubergine (too.lemony) and tabouleh (hardly any cracked wheat and tasteless) and triangles of spinach (too sharp with lemon) and chicken cubes. At £25 p/h with soft drinks, not worth it.

I visited the restaurant at Saint Christopher’s place last night and often frequent it. The food is absolutely excellent the customer service is very attentive and the Shisha is top quality. Speaking to the management they are extremely passionate about the service they give. They can’t do enough to ensure that your experience with them exceed your expectations. I cannot recommend them highly enough and had a fantastic night last night so much so that we didn’t want the night to end or to leave. The staff are so friendly and interactive that they make you feel special and not just one of many. If you visiting London this is a place to go especially if you enjoy a good quality Shisha.

A bit pricey even though it's in central London, but the food quality and taste was amazing. Probably one of the best shawarma I've had in London. I would recommend getting the mixed Chicken and Lamb.

I have now visited this restaurant Shisha bar several times, and of all of the places that provide food and Shisha this is the one I am always drawn back to when I visit London. I am highly critical so for me to advise that this restaurant bar is a real commendation. The Shisha is of a high quality the food excellent and the customer service fantastic. The staff go above and beyond to make sure that your experience with them is of a high quality and that you go away happy. I cannot recommend it more highly, The management of passionate about the service and quality that they give their customers and that is clear in the quality that you get when visiting. If you’re in London make sure you put it on your list. They have more than one restaurant. It’s great being able to sit outside and watch people as well well relaxing with a great Shisha thanks guys. Look forward to seeing you next time we are in London very soon. Great night last night.

A very sad experience today. The food was horrible, probably stayed for several days somewhere. Sour taste of tasteless humous. I would never go there and wouldn't recommend anybody to do so. They take advantage of the location. That's it. Complained to the manager.

It's been disappointed about service, and size of the food has been overcharged, the one who served us doesn't know about the food to explain to customers how bigger and how many people can eat large mixed grill, he said its enough for 2 people, but it's not true.

Ate here for an early evening, beginning of the week meal. At 6.30pm the place was virtually empty so it was perhaps lacking atmosphere. Started with a Lebanese Spicy Salad followed by the Farouj Meshwi for a main course. This was rather like a large chicken kebab with cold potatoes and coleslaw. I didn't really know what I was ordering, however it was very nice. The restaurant is very conveniently located close to Paddington station. My only gripe is the 'discretionary' 12.5% service charge which isn't really discretionary at all. I object to this.

I went there today for a late lunch and had lamb shawarma. It was good and the staff are particularly nice and friendly. Nice atmosphere and easy access from Oxford Street.

Great little place, perfect for Shisha and dinner. Food is delicious, wings for starter and lamb shawarma for main was excellent. It’s pricey so bear that in mind but you expect that for the location. 30 meters from Selfridges! Service was friendly, I took one star off because all our food arrived together, starters and mains all at once we didn’t have space even. No warning beforehand that all dishes arrive together as kitchen is small, fine with that but you need to warn customers.

Tugged away from the busy shopping high street, it is recommended to find this for lunch or dinner. It is wooden chairs and tables so not very fancy. You can be seated outdoors too. It is small, so you sit close together, and it can get busy. My friend and I refer to this place as "our shopping retreat". We have yet to order main meals, as we buy a lot of different smaller dishes to share. For an example, last time we did not have much time to eat, so we got a bottle of large still water, a tabouleh, falafel, halloumi meshwi, fatayer spinach for the perfect price of £34.04 to share... That is a cheerful and healthy dinner! And each dish is so tasty and the home made dips just add that extra yumminess.

Found this place for a late dinner. Nice vibe like many others on James street. Outdoor tables are nice if next to the restaurant but the ones nearest the road are not. Sat inside and friendly owner. The waitress was miserable and didn't smile once. The food was decent enough but like others has said expensive. One small plate of mixed grill with some chips came to 26.50. Decent enough but nothing special. Will be going back to Maroush in future.

I did not eat here, but I did enjoy the shisha lounge. Good prices and different shisha brand offerings (al fahkr and starbuzz) as well as "frozen hookah" and multiple hoses. Quite an enjoyable experience in spite of the heavy rain outside.

Had a lovely lunch here - would recommend the cheese sambousek and falafel salad. Lebanese coffee was delicious, as was the fresh mint tea.

Food was nice but portions were much smaller than we expected. Nice ambience as well and service was ok.

If you like Lebanese food and are in central London, I recommend you pay this restaurant a visit, in the trendy James street. Lebanese is one of my favourite cuisines and Massis is up there with one of the top Lebanese restaurants. Quality food includes; Tabouleh, hummus, fatoush, kibbeh, shish taouk or the lunch time shawarma wraps. You won't be disappointed and you can top it off by smoking a shisha after your meal.

I ordered the Lamb Shawarma and it was divine. The meat was moist and succulent and the sides were delicious with some of the most fresh vegetables. The ambiance is nice and quaint. The perfect meal for a day of shopping in London. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite.

This place is rubbish. The place next door is 100x better so if your choosing go next door. Stopped here for lunch and was regretful after taking a platter for £30 which was more like starters. Really average food not impressed and the service was crap

Absolutely terrible!! Too expensive for too small portion ! I ordered a mixed grill , the price was more expensive than the other food on menu, so I expected a larger portion , but it was too small , side salad was only onions ! They treat you as a tourist and charge you more !!! I paid £35 for that rubbish food! I'm a Londoner, and Never had experience like that before in London !

Well priced takeaway lunch specials

Lo encontramos por casualidad, buscando algo diferente, la verdad es que fue bueno, la comida al igual que el staff muy italiano. Nada que objetar, servicio rápido y amable, comimos las tapas your, estuvo bien.

Service here is great, but that's about all. Very expensive for one of the worst Lebanese place I've eaten in London. Safely give it a pass!

Ordered tea and dessert a really great location and friendly staff we sat inside and they also have shisha outside, the baklava was a bit stale and dry but tea was good!

Necesitaba una comida vegetariana tranquila por la noche después de un día agitado, y creía que había un cambio de italiano, esto era perfecto. Fui por la bamia vegetariana y un Budvar que era exactamente lo que necesitaba, delicioso y pude disfrutarlos tranquilamente mientras leía mi periódico. Sin duda volveremos a probar sus almuerzos.

En primer lugar, la ubicación es fantástica, me encanta todo el ambiente de la calle donde la gente está comiendo. Vine aquí un sábado por la noche, ya que generalmente la comida libanesa no se puede equivocar. Pedí un shish, pero me quedé muy decepcionado: el pollo no estaba muy bien marinado y era muy sencillo y seco. También me decepcionó que con este pollo seco, ¡no se sirva con pan o arroz! Para 15 50 esperaba más. En general, un bocado rápido cuesta 50. 00 para dos personas y realmente no puedo encontrar mucho más para felicitar. Me imagino que para la hora del almuerzo es bueno y con precios más convenientes, pero no para un sábado por la noche.

One of favourite places in London for Lebanese food

Absolutely atrocious! They didn’t serve me and my partner bread yet served everyone else after us it. Didn’t bring correct order! The quality and quantity of this restaurant in comparison to competing Turkish/Lebanese restaurants is baby portion. Never again! Oh and most definitely over priced! Save your money for somewhere worth it cause it certainly isn’t here!

The meat was not very good, the service was worse. Food arrived wrong and definitely overpriced. Very difficult to get the attention of the staff, let alone a smile or a 'thanks'.

Después de un largo trote en Hyde Park y algunas compras rápidas, tenía mucha hambre y me encontré sin saber qué comer. . . . Un montón de opciones a lo largo de la calle, pero Massis se destacó como algo ligero y sabroso. Comí un sándwich Shish Tawook y era exactamente lo que quería, ligero, saludable y lleno de vibrante sabor. El servicio fue rápido y amable y fue agradable y bastante por dentro. El precio era muy justo también.

Small place. Good food but expensive. Friendly staff.

We went there for late lunch and the service was very good. They had problems with workers in the street with gas lines who had just burst a water pipe so there was no water for a small amount of time but they coped well. The menu is not massive but what we had was very taste, we sat outside as it was a nice day but the smoke from smokers was a put off. The restaurant was clean and would go again it is a good restaurant not very good and as you are in the middle of tourist town you pay slightly higher prices

The quality of food here is amazing! Very generous portions and fresh tasting. The chips were very spectacular and the customer service is very accommodating.

Not the best food in the area. Convenient stop for a catch-up meal. Positive points: some outdoor seating and smiling staff.
