We went with friends last night Saturday 25th January & the night was a disaster. We turned up & waited to be served. Three members of staff standing talking amongst themselves and not paying attention 🙄. There was a couple waiting in front of us as well. My husband had to say loudly is any one going to serve us. We then decided to have the Carvery & that was the most expensive mistake we made. We were looking forward to a lovely meal with our friends and said we wished we cooked it ourselves. I asked for a small piece of Turkey and a small piece of Gammon. The chef didn't listen and I got two large chunks of meat put on my plate. I then asked for a Yorkshire pudding and it was massive and horrible. Tasted burnt. I looked at the roast potatoes and they were burnt. The carrots & parsnips were the same. I tried the gravy & it was watery and tasted greasy. My Turkey tasted bitter & rank. The Gammon was so salty & not pleasant. My husband and my friends husband went up for their Carvery and the Chef was rude & arrogant 🙄. My husband was given a really burnt Yorkshire pudding and he said to the Chef that he didn't want that & the attitude from the Chef was disgusting. We felt as if we shouldn't be there as well. No one asked us if anything was alright. We sat for over an hour before I went & asked someone for the Bill. The whole time we were there we felt why did we book this & why did we spend £93.00 for four Carveries when we would have been better off at the chip shop.
