McDonald's in Forest Heath

Don't bother ordering through McDelivery. Multiple times now we have had orders come half-fulfilled and McDonalds won't do anything about it unless you go to the store to pick up a replacement. Today I had my drink delivered in a massive bag with nothing to hold it up in transit so everything was soaked, the only option you have is to chase ubereats which is impossible.

This Macdonalds cannot cope with the volume of customers it has. Never once have I gone through the drive through, without having to wait in the bays. Doesn't matter how quiet or busy it is

A McDonald's beef patty takes 45 seconds to cook, yet ordering a single item at the drive thru will see you being parked every single time, and waiting 5-20 minutes, only for the food to arrive cold and poorly made.

Ordered and it was hot and all good. Clean inside and toilets was clean .

Food was very tasty, hot and quick to order and serve. Plenty of parking in peaceful location.

I went through the drive through, after 5 mins I got my food but the chips were cold. I ask for no bacon and it came with bacon. They didn’t give us are drinks.The only good thing was the nuggets 😐. DO NOT GO!!

Went through the drive through. Took 15 minutes to receive food, they forgot the milkshake which I eventually received - it was so runny it must have been out on the side for fifteen minutes! Drove off only to discover that they hadn't given me the dips I'd ordered. Shift manager for the evening of 14/01/25 and their staff need retraining. Food hygiene is abysmal just like their service.

The cleanliness was lacking by the tables being oily and so on the service was 11/10 very kind

don’t even deserve one star, but that’s all it will let me do. have never had a good experience here. no matter how simple your order is, it will always be messed up.

ordered a mcdelivery via just eat paying additional delivery charges + courier tips however only 1/4th of the order arrived when contacted through just eat it said that a refund is possible in 7 days. i contacted the newmarket mcdonald's directly and they said nothing can be done replacements can only be made if we came to mcdonald's . what's the point when you have ordered a meal and most of the meal hasn't arrived no refunds made of delivery charges and still had to arrive onsite to collect the remaining .... appalling service and this has been similar for the last three months

This is the worst McDonald’s I have ever visited. Despite being a regular customer, the experience is consistently disappointing. The McFlurry machine is frequently out of order, and the service is exceptionally slow regardless of whether it’s a busy or quiet period. Remarkably, it takes less time to get a full English breakfast at Wetherspoons than it does to receive a cheeseburger at this McDonald’s.

Was told they weren't taking any orders due to a software update, and they had no idea how long it would take. This is not the first time this has happened either. Surely there's another way to take orders while their system is updating, or what's the point in being open 24 hours? Ridiculous. Won't bother with them again.

Drive thru Cold chips first time round so took them back and new ones still cold , one sweet chill wrap missing went back then the other sweet chill wrap on sauce , the place is a joke

Awful experience. The self-order machines had ran out of receipt paper. The staffed till had also ran out of receipt paper. Despite the restaurant not being busy at all, I waited way too long for my order to be ready. My big tasty burger was cold, the bun was stale and they didn't put tomato on it. The fries had obviously been reheated, as they were darker in colour and chewy. I ordered a Terry's chocolate pie but they gave me a regular apple pie. The galaxy caramel latte was disgusting. The condiment station was a mess, sauce smeared everywhere and open sugar packets scattered about. And the staff seem to have a total disregard for recycling, I witnessed them emptying the bins and they just tipped all of the recyclables into the general waste bag.

The food always takes a long time when using the drive through. Otherwise good.

Cold food. Warm soft drinks. Also the Aircon is too cold. Avoid this place at busy times. Or just go to Burger King nearby, which hasn't disappointed me yet.

Have never managed to use the drive through without having to ‘wait in the next bay’. There aren’t that many bays to accommodate the inefficiencies displayed here!

Phenomenal service. Ordered a white coffee, got a black coffee. If you can’t even get coffee right, something is desperately wrong. Took it back to the counter granted it by the woman behind the counter, five minutes later without any communication at all a new cup of coffee is given. Seriously, if you can’t get coffee right, I think you’re in the wrong trade. After all, I assume all comes out a Machine, actually if you can’t press the right button on the coffee machine, I really do think you need to reconsider your career path.

Why do they make us wait in a bay EVERY SINGLE TIME?! Even if the drive through is empty, and the bays are full! It's madness! Also, make sure you check your order before you leave, as it's usually wrong.

Go through the drive thru and ask for a bag of air and they’ll still ask u to “pull into a bay” and wait 20 mins. Alongside this it’s the basics - No straw, no dip etc (you get the jist). Looking at the other reviews, everyone else is feeling the same way. When is it gonna get sorted??

Not recomended . for 4 sandwiches I waited there for 30 minutes yesterday after 11pm in a long queue of cars. The employee said he didn't know the name of the shift manager.

The worst McDonald's I've ever been to. The fries are always cold and soggy with no salt, you can guarantee you'll be told go to the bays even if there's no space, you'll then get your order without drinks or missing an item only to be grunted at by the staff. Please sort it out! The worst McDonald's just got even worse, no fizzy drinks now and the app doesn't work anymore. What a shambles.

I'm not a huge fan of McDonald's, as in the past, I've found the food lacking in value for money. But after today's visit, I believe that the McCrispy I had, and the Vegan Wrap my partner had, were probably the best Mac food either of us have had. Great restaurant. Only criticism; not enough disabled parking. Otherwise, very clean with very speedy service.

Newmarket McDonalds looks nice and new, but it isn't the best! Every single time they make you park on up, even when there is littleraly nobody there! I just ordered three meals, two large fries were half empty large cartons, I was missing a child's drink and the chicken burger was dry and burnt! They always run out of things, sauces...for weeks and months aswell!!!

Rubbish. Left at drive thru window 10 minutes and they had no idea where I was. Given cold food and then had a traffic jam to get out. £13 - never again. Useless and couldn't eat the food. Can't afford to throw money away on this

Hands down the worst mcdonalds in the region. Waited 10 minutes for an order that was incorrect and cold. Chips were supposed to be medium and were instead small on both orders and were cold. Drinks were only 3 quarters full. Big mac had no lettuce or sauce in it whatsoever and double cheeseburger had onions in it despite requesting no onions (luckily due to a disliking rather than an allergy or they would be in serious trouble). The manager tried to fob me off with the chips by saying they had run out of the medium sized holders, which I told him was all well and good but could I perhaps at least get the portion size I payed for. He offered to remake the whole order, which took another 10 minutes. The order was correct second time round, but the chips were absolutely awful and the nuggets were cold. Couldn't be bothered to go back a second time to challenge it. Awful food, awful service, and bad hygiene. Not worth the time or money.

Excellent, thanks to Bipin( manager) Alex and other young man on order counter for handling a grumpy old woman, professionally, politely and respectful- Not happy with the deal, get over it! It’s not the staff’s fault. Well done all the staff you’re doing a GREAT job 👏

A newer looking McDonald's but still slow service. I ordered from a screen (just a burger and doughnut) and saw my burger sat in a bag whilst an employee continuously faffed with other bags (literally just fiddling with the paper they're made of) for a few minutes. When he then went to hand me my order he wouldn't actually give it to me until I'd listed my whole order to him. I stood there with the receipt in my hand with the order number facing him but he kept asking what I'd ordered. Had to say "a burger and a doughnut" 3 times before he handed the food to me. The order on the screen moved to "ready to collect" about 3 minutes before he tried to give me the food. Perhaps this is why? Saw other people bringing stuff back in the 10 minutes I was inside. Cold food / wrong items etc. Standard McDonald's really. They've all gone down hill since COVID. So expensive now and on a whole bland and boring. Burger King is my go to when I'm near one now.

Excellent service through and through. We stop here on our way to Norfolk for holidays and have now visited this branch four times. One of the cleanest McDonald’s we have ever seen and the food is always very hot and fresh. I cannot leave this review without mentioning the wonderful Priyanka, who went out of her way to welcome us to this branch and always creates a friendly atmosphere.

Off the beaten track - gunning it back home and fortunately the sat nav diverted me to Newmarket. This brand looks very new. The weather was great so we made max use of the outdoor seating. Friendly and efficient staff, making the McD's experience ever so pleasant.

Here at 1245 Saturday, fries overcooked and cold, both double quaterpounders totally over salted. Not busy but still a long wait.

I appreciate its busy environment and mistakes happen however it’s how you then deal with it and unfortunately it seems the staff are very young and inexperienced with a “don’t care” attitude. Tried calling multiple times with no response. By contrast (I think his name is Andrew) was outstanding. The real worry is that out of 2 visits both had issues so is this a common problem at this branch (Newmarket)? Even for a small order you have to wait in a bay. Also interesting that none of the reviews have a response from the Management so again I assume they really don’t care?

Absolute shambles of a place, order is usually wrong or missing and no matter which side of the drive through I go to I have wait while 3-4 other cars are served first.

thought i would try again ..but after this visit i will not visit again .not busy but was still asked to wait in bay ..eventually got our food chips were cold ..burger only just warm no change from our last visit ..burger king have it spot on with no waiting ,food always hot ... its a shame as this place has put me off mc donalds for good

Went in on a busy summer holiday Monday , managed to park ok to eat in , food was served fast and hot , place was fairly clean , female staff members was friendly . We sat outside as the weather was nice , my toddler son really enjoyed the playhouse . Nothing to complain about on this occasion

Worst McDonald’s ever!!! This is not fast food, it’s the slowest service, you always get asked the wait in the bay, and they always get the order wrong.

It's a McDonald's. Highlight, mcflurry machine working. Poor point, mccafe frozen drinks not. Cut and paste experience.

Very slow service, when not even ordering at peak times. I had to chase staff 3 times for my order.

Was waiting 25 minutes in a bay - wrong order , then food was poor , chips cold and wrap had been sat around ages.

Very clean when we came yesterday at 11am. Ordered to table, and food was hot and arrived quickly. Staff friendly too.

Fast service and tasty hot food, propery placed in bag rather than thrown in, all present and correct including the requested sauces.

I don't normally complain I have used mcds all over the country but this place omg I ordered at 808 didn't get order till 830 nothing special just a standard breakfast meal it wasn't busy staff were just wodeling around in no rush then I get 10mins down the road and they have give me the wrong coffee I definitely won't be going back

Still no dairy milk alternative. Where the oat milk or soya. Nice to see the McPlant going strong and a new vegan icecream.

As a front line Paramedic I waited over 15 minutes for an ice cream, only McDonald’s in this area that do not give a free drink for emergency services, on leaving the restaurant I was nearly knock over over by a staff member who was more interested in talking on his phone

My first and last time I stop at this McDonald’s. I was with 4 people and we decided to sit inside. Well how to start. We ordered on the screen sat down with a table services to be waiting 40 mins for a food only to have it be wrong. My friend went to the lady who is customer service for inside only for her to be rude and say that’s not my business nothing to do with me. NO but hell you carry on wiping the same table 7 times. I know for a fact she can help as she is employed to help not just clean the same area 4 times. For then my friend to take it to the desk get her food changed but no they forgot about her and she was standing there waiting for another 15 mins for her to have to ask again where it was. As well it was 9.45 and it was hardly busy but it had gotten to the point of being annoyed. We had finished ours while she had only started! Not a great experience at all

Cheese burger was as good as cold and the fries even colder. It was a drive thru and I specifically asked if tbe food was hot and they said yes. Dont waste your money.

I actually never leave reviews but this is the worse drive thru never!!! Ever since time you are asked to wait in a bay even for a happy meal! And even if bays are full! The kitchen always looks like there’s 101 people init but still can not get even a happy meal out with a quick service and waited 15/20 no matter what you order you are sat waiting! Something needs to be done and new management needs to be brought in. Every time I leave there I always say I’m NEVER going back but it’s the only McDonald’s in town maybe this is why they take the piss!

It’s meant to be a 24hr McDonald’s, I got there at 6am & it was shut, 5 people waiting at the door, finally unlocked the doors at 06:30 & barely acknowledged we were there, no sorry for your wait etc, lots tables hadn’t been cleaned from the day before (I found a clean one), & to top it off that no toilet roll in the bogs, luckily they gave me 100’s of napkins with my order as usual’ so that problem got solved!!

Right this is not the first time this has happened but everytime I get mc Donald’s from this place they ALWAYS put onions on my burger and I’m allergic and they full well know I am the amount of times I’ve said I’m allergic if I almost die from onions I’m suing this mc Donald’s cuz I’ve had enough being paranoid looking in my burger seeing if there’s onions in it it’s that simple you see no onions in it you don’t put onions in it it’s not that hard like fair enough if I forgot to put no onions in it but every single time I have made sure I put no onions but no I feel aimed I get rid of the pickles mustard and onions in my burger and they just put onions in it and they know I’m allergic so they’re clearly trunna kill me or something I just wanna enjoy my burger man but I can’t even do that no more and if I could put 0 stars I would

Ordered a double sausage McMuffin meal. Was told there was no hash browns available, so this was replaced with a fruit bag. As if this wasn't disappointing enough, after driving off, there was only a single sausage in the bun.

Fries were cold, forgot drinks. Very polite. But if you know the fries are cold, why would you serve them?

Overall good experience. We customised some of our burgers and they all came out correctly. Food took a bit longer than expected to be prepared, but other than that am good.

They say they’re a 24 hr McDonalds. Twice I’ve been at midnight while on shift and they’ve said they “can’t take any orders right now” is this standard at 24 hr restaurants? Because Thetford & Barton Mills seem to serve all through the night…

Always get our order wrong everytime. This time they gave us the wrong order then when we told them they brought our order with wrong items and items missing, so we waited in total 40mins for them to bring mozzarella bites and then gave us someone else’s order AGAIN! Had to go in and get everything missing from our order. The kitchen itself was in shambles with the fryer on the floor and oil everywhere.

They stole a child's toy from a Happy Meal and didn't give them salad dressing. We had stomach problems after eating this 🤢🤢🤢 never again

Banner states that store is open 24hrs when arrived found that they were closed. I don't think even a 1 star would represent this false advertisement

Drive through is disorganised. They send people to the waiting bay, even when it's full. Waited 25 minutes for order (one standard item) at 7am with only one other car around at same time. Reported a missing burger from take away order and had no reply or compensation. Easy parking. Nice play area for children outside and interactive tables inside. Wheelchair friendly.

No fries with the food, no milkshakes available. Drive through microphone and speakers inaudible leading to long queues. Won't be returning

EDITED TO ADD - Can't add a new review so just adding to this one that i have been given the wrong meal at the drive through as well as food missing, drinks missing, i might as well go in the damn place and order it normally. I get so annoyed. I waited over 5 mins to pay yesterday and i was the only one at the drive through. When we ask for sugar free drinks can we please get that as my son is type 1 diabetic. Asked for two large coke zeros to be given one and an oasis drink. Do you realise how bad that is for him? It is bad enough that simple orders are messed up and things missing but to do that is the last straw. I keep having to check if drinks are diet or zero as we get random tasting things.

Staff need to re-train , but this is expected when the average age is 18yr old. A few lessons in hygiene wouldn't go amiss

Food was ok (as good as McDonald's gets) being new place was clean but busy. Only spent on cheap food so only got cheap food.

Was empty when we arrived, waited around 10/15 mins for our food. Food was cold, drinks had no ice and milkshake was so thick that it wouldn't go up the paper straw!! Won't be using MacDonalds anywhere in the UK because it's overpriced and always poor quality food!!

Completely wrong order have tried phoning 6 times and phone goes straight to voice mail - asked for a plain tripple cheese burger with tomato and lettuce and i got tomato mayonnaise ketchup - i am allergic to mayonnaise. Charged me extra for bbq sauce and never got that either. Spent 9.84 on a meal for them to get my chips and drink right. Would have driven back but live 20 minutes away only checked my order when i got home.

Had to wait for the food the server couldn't get the order right we asked for two breakfast wraps and oj. Had to repet our order 3 or 4 times. Then we waited for about 15 minutes in a bay before the food came out and it was a breakfast roll not wrap the server had put the order through wrong. When asked thay said they must have miss herd us. Will not be back so dismissive of customer.

Stone cold coffee at the drive-through.

After visiting a few months ago and service was very slow I thought I would try again this morning. Thought things may of improved but as soon as I walked in there were people standing waiting that had been there a good while. People were waiting through the drive through parked everywhere. I had placed my order online so just waited for around 15 minutes but I got my order before others who had been waiting longer. I don't know if its a staffing issue or if they are all new to the job but for me it is one of the worst mcdonald's in the area. I do normally use 5 ways one which is always run smoothly. Hopefully the Newmarket one will improve but looking at reviews seems it's an ongoing issue maybe the owner should look in to what the problem is.

Worst McDonald’s in the UK!! After waiting at the drive in speaker for 5 minutes even though I was the only car there for someone finally ask what we wanted. We gave our order only to be told that they hadn’t got anything and we would have to wait 10 minutes, so we gave up and left. Pointless going there. Supposed to be 24 hours but what ever time you go they are useless. Don’t use them.

Restaurant and lobby open 24hrs.. but closes at 10pm.. edit the website or do what you say you do..

Although we were sitting in a bay for 15 minutes it was really busy tonight. Normally service is awful but Yohan/Johan was running around delivering orders and he also spoke to us at the window. He was the only one we saw running back and forth to cars. You need to employ more Yohan…

I think this whole team there is retarded. I eat there when I have to, really sometimes. There is literally always something missing from the order. I even called once that they could start keeping an eye on it. Still the same. Always check your orders. I was there last time. Avoid this place.

Service was OK Some people bearly spoke English and they where walking about for customers to get help from and clear tables, Food was same old maccies but will say fries where bang on , the drinks machine is awful there was no fizz and when I complained about it, they told me there was no ice like that's what makes it fizz and that was from a manager so that was awful.
