McDonalds Ilminster in South Somerset

Another great experience. Quick service and friendly staff. Food was hot and fresh and the seating area was clean and tidy

Honestly I have been reluctant to write a review because…. Well it’s McDonald’s. But this particular one is TERRIBLE. It is consistently a minimum 20 to 40 minute wait for food - even if your order is very small and basic. Further, no matter what your order, it is guaranteed they will forget something. Today drinks with no straws, no (paid for) dips and no napkins. The wrap I received was barely ‘wrapped’ and was extremely flimsy.

The 24 hour mcdonalds was closed at 1am, both for eat in and drive thro. No signs to suggest change of opening hours, and the main sign still says 24 hours. The only way we knew the hours had changed was by looking on Google

Absolutely Garbage the worst food place I have ever been in. Its Not hospitality or a restaurant. Vending machines would be better. There were no staff until a man walked out from behind a wall and never said a word to us. He just placed our bags down and put two coffee's beside it. There were only two other people in the place and they were trying to force down their order of crap. I tried to ask the man a question but he just ignored me and walked back behind the wall. The napkin dispenser was empty so we didn't get any and we got no sugar for our coffee's or salt for our food. we ordered two toffee latte's. What a joke there was no foam at the top or toffee, and I have never had a more foul tasting cup of coffee, It was way to strong. We both dumped them in the rubbish. The burgers didn't even look like meat and tasted like cat food. We got no lettuce tomato or pickles, Just bun some sort of meat patty and a slice proceed cheese and about half a tea spoon of ketchup. I was starving and I ate three bights and felt sick it tasted so bad. We all put it in the bin and left. There was nine of us in our group and no one was happy our ate their food. If this is the future of McDonalds God help us all. I have also heard they are going to raise the price's , What a joke You need to lower the prices. As I said at the start this is not a restaurant or hospitality place. DON'T GO THERE If you really want to lose your money just burn your money and save your body the trauma. May God help all who are silly enough to try and eat at these place. Stray dogs avoid this place.

Stopped on the way from Dorchester to Bristol for a late ish lunch. Service was slower than slow with little or no customer care. There were a LOT of unhappy customers. Food plonked down with zero communication. This was afternoon on Monday 11 Oct. There appeared to be a McD management meeting (2 or 3 folks) in the corner. Surely they must have witnessed the abysmal service. Food was cold, this was a sit in meal. A customer next to me was pretty irate having waited for 20 mins also to have been given cold food. I travel the country a LOT this is by far the worst McD's I have experienced down to the poor staff.

The food and service were fine, the problem I have is 2 weeks later and a fine for £100 for outstaying my welcome, despite buying breakfast followed by Apple pie and more drinks. This was a comfortable place for my teenager with SEN to complete an EHCP application - had no idea there would be a parking restriction in the middle of an industrial estate. Very sad and disappointed.

Absolutely shocking. You would have thought after a year they would have got their sh** together, terrible service, Wi-Fi doesn’t work and it’s a 4g dead zone. Food is either super greasy or cold. Or just missing completely. Food ordered to table, tray just thrown onto the table and walk off. Rude.

Never had one good experience with this McDonalds. Always told to park up when going through drive through and then having to wait up to half an hour. staff also need training in basic customer service stills.

should have got a soggy meal deal from a garage thats how bad it was. chips were cold. missing half the order also no ice in the drinks. burgers were slapped together like they have been in a boxing ring.

Worst McDonalds in the country. Order is ALWAYS missing something. Usually cold. Staff don't seem to understand common courtesy. And today, we paid for two lots of Chicken Selects and only got one - I should have checked the bag, but really, a trained monkey could get that order right, so I didn't think I needed to. By the time I checked we were miles away. Phone number for the restaurant (mobile) goes straight to voicemail. Absolute joke.

Slow service - Food cold - 1 Chicken McNugget Happy Meal had 2 Nuggets in and another 6 McNuggets had 5 in. Overall experience poor

2 x Smokehouse bbq burger meals no top of bun on one and missing ingredients in both, fries only half full..!!!! Used drive through had to wait initially 10mins and 8mins to redo. No offer of refund just replaced. 😡

They’ve been given plenty of time to iron out the early teething issues, but honestly, this place is a joke! Always sent to ‘park and wait’ then, EVERY TIME, they get the order wrong. And I do mean, every time! Been maybe 20 times since opening and it’s not getting better! Franchise owners or McDonalds should really take this s**t show in hand, fire some people and replace them with people that don’t dribble and can spell their own name!

After finishing work in this store I met my husband and he was given a Luke warm coffee and when I complained I was ignored. I have been in with my husband before and had wrong drinks. Myself and my husband refuse to go in the McDonald's anymore. It is a shame because being local I was looking forward to a McDonald's, but I definitely won't be going in there again.

This place is relatively new I think - wasn’t here the last time I came down the 303 Weird set up You can’t see the kitchen - it’s like self service kiosk and one bloke at like a little front desk Felt super impersonal - could be monkeys making for food for all I knew (I think it was…) Quite slow Chicken ok No sauces Fries cold and rubbery

Tomato sauce in the burger was very bad, tasted fermented.Half the burger was in the packaging, not the buns. Patties were very dry and the lotus biscoff frappe was awful because it didn’t taste how it should. We didn’t even get the full order as we didn’t get a BBQ sauce as requested. Also to top it all off there was slow service so when my food got here it was cold even when the drive through was empty. Furthermore there was no salt on the chips. Would not recommend if you want to be satisfied with a meal.

Rated as average as there's nothing really good or bad to say about the place. It's a McDonalds, same as every other McDonalds in the country and if you expect anything more you're going to be disappointed. It's handy when we're desperate for something quick but wouldn't go out of my way to go for any other reason.

First week the store was open, fresh food all hours of the night. Staff are always friendly. 10/10 would go back again, and always open

I'm not one for reviewing stuff unless I'm really annoyed ! I'm beyond annoyed ! Generally, you go into any McDonalds around the country and you know what you are going to get. NOT THIS ONE !! I ordered a quarter pounder (with cheese !) meal. What I got was a disgrace. The burger looked like it had been shoehorned into a tiny little baps they use for those bite size mini burgers they sell in Aldi !! Topping (and I use that term very loosely) comprised of two shards of lettuce, one half of a gerkin strip, half a slither of tomato and next to no burger relish. The chips were no better, cold and soggy. DON'T EVER GO HERE ! Certainly should have gone to the Burger King on the other side of the roundabout.

I’ve tried going through the drive throu about 5 times each time about half hour wait so I thought right it’s gotta be quicker going inside and getting it well I was wrong 45 min wait next time I’ll get it in Taunton you get it straight away there and I can see what people are saying on here about wrong orders while I was waiting for our meals to come out the amount of people coming in moaning about the wrong meals and the que for the drive throu was as bad as the m25 unbelievable a joke .

The Worst Franchise in the Country, Visited the Ilminster Restaurant about 8 x times ( as am local) with family and Grandson. Not yet has the order been correct. Wrong breakfasts, presentation is non existent with wrapping open, full of a greasy oil residue and the bottom of the muffin missing, coffees or hash browns (part of the meal) missing with incomplete orders. No sauce, salt or ketchup in the dispensers, The young kids there always very apologetic but it’s not sincere as they seem yo be constantly saying it, Toilets were disgraceful on 4 x occasions and I wouldn’t let my 5 year old grandson use them as they were disgusting. Tables dirty and overflowing rubbish/ recycling bins.. This Restaurant is giving McDonalds a bad name with waiting customers laughing at the amount of orders that are returned , one after the other - Very Very poor, Maybe the proposed KFC would have been better. 2 out of 10- we now travel to Taunton now and the service couldn’t be better!!

Three out of five burgers missing, two burgers with no toppings. Fries wrong size portion and no salt. Absolutely hopeless!!!

We visited today with our autistic son. The lovely man (we didn’t catch his name) immediately noticed us and went out of his way to help without us having to ask. He had no hesitation in arranging mayonnaise and a McFlurry for my son even though they were not available on the menu today and brought our food to the table. Thank you!

I've tried this one a few times now. I'm aware it's a new restaurant however by now the normal system should be working. I've always ordered the simplest mac meal, still not had a warm one, and have never had a swift seamless drive through. Sort yourselves out ilminster !

Tomorrow we are saying goodbye to our old boy via the Rainbow Bridge, our VET said give them what you want, someone mentioned McDonalds, well why not? We don't go often maybe twice a year. My Wife is Gluten Free so choice is limited, she opted for the Grilled Chicken and Bacon Salad @£4.29, in the Box was some Lettuce, 2 slices of Beef Tomato, no Onion, no Balsamic Vinegar and no Bacon! It did have chicken, one piece which was 2cm wide, 10 cm long and a cm thick. I can honestly say that this is the worst McDonalds i have been to and being in the Forces and Travelling the World i have experienced a lot. To actually call yourself McDonalds is an absolute Travesty!!!
