Having been to the Carluccios in Richmond recently, the Bentall’s branch in Kingston felt like the poor cousin. The portion sizes of food were smaller and the staff serving were not attentive and kept trying to push add ins like a salad or bread. We were not enthralled and having been going there for years and years, it sadly is not how it used to be. The penne Giardinea, their signature dish, you have to find the courgette balls! Tiny and sparse. This used to be such an incredible dish.

Beware of this tourist trap. They draw you in with friendly behavior, but once you’re seated, the experience takes a turn for the worse. The staff are rude, there are unexpected charges, and they don’t honor the menu prices. Service is poor and judgmental. Definitely one to avoid!

The lady server named Giulia I think was exceptional, she made sure we were taken care of with my friends, lovely.

I had a birthday dinner with family and friends, and i felt very well taken care of, had great service, amazing food. Highly reccommened tosnyone for their birthday.

Friday 20th December. After having such a positive experience before I am so dissapointed. The food... well starters... was still faultless... having to spend the next hour with no one to take away our plates.. (only the two of us) .... or to ask when the mains will be ready, I felt like walking out.... not they would have noticed. I paid for what we had... only to be presented with a completely different bill, which was a lot cheaper but I did correct them. If the restaurant was busy I may have excused them, but they were too busy serving uber eats etc. My advice would be, enjoy the lovely food and very nice atmosphere... but order from uber eats and have it served to your table. Apart from someone taking our order, delivering our drinks and starters, we had no contact from any staff for over 1 hour. Very, very dissapointed. When I complained and asked for the bill having waited for so long, I didn't even receive a reaction, no "let me check with the kitchen", no "let me get you another drink while you wait" There was no apology, explanation for delay or anything.
