Miller and Carter in Eastleigh

Had a family Christmas day lunch here, a little disappointed. I ordered a steak well done, when I cut into it it was red, not even pink, they call themselves a steakhouse and can't even get a basic like that right, they did change it but that put me behind everyone else (they can't wait for me or their lunch will get cold). Overall we found the quality wasn't good enough for the price paid, about £120 per head although the service was second to none. Won't be back next year.

Lauren, the server, was absolutely brilliant!!! We have nut allergies and she was so informative and was able to make changes and talk us through the recent FSA alert involving mustard products. Couldn’t get over how knowledgable she was and how much care she took. Thank you.

Miller and Carter Southampton is absolutely amazing, the food is phenomenal, Mario cooked the steaks to perfection. Always a lovely atmosphere. Lauren served us who is friendly and always has a smile, she always remembers us even with months in between visits.

We had our staff Christmas dinner here and it was a great choice. Great food and very friendly service, we will eat here again

Went on Sunday for the sharing board and it did not disappoint at all. Plenty portion wise for two, lots of meat and unlimited gravy. We did pay extra for more Yorkshire puddings as you only get two but it was well worth it. Impeccable service as well warm and welcoming and always on hand if you need anything. Will definitely be going again!

Our visit was excellent the meal, the presentation of our meal, and the service was superb .we were a party of 4 and everyone of us enjoyed our visit very much ,thank you for a lovely afternoon

First christmas out for lunch. Really good choice. Menu and food excellent. Our server (a young gentleman) was amazing helpful and witty, added to the occasion.

I was given a gift card to use so visited last sunday (22nd) to see how good the steaks are. I regularily bbq at home so have some idea of how to cook them well. 2 T bone steaks and mac and cheese sides ordered. Steaks arrived quickly but were unseasoned and tepid and had sat for too long. Fat not camerlised and therefore quite chewy I would bet these dont see a proper flame which is vital to making a steak sing. Sear and caramelise first then slow cook to desired state . Sides and knifes took an extra 10 mins to arrive . Poor service . The lad delivering the food didnt seem to liase with the server. The restaurant itself looked and felt tired with uncleared tables around with worn tables and fittings. Overly familiar staff also not my idea of professional. Who greets you with " Hiya!" ...Overall I was glad it cost me nothing as I would have been unimpressed to waste £109 on a meal that didnt match the hype. Anyone wanting a properly cooked steak meal should think twice.

Food was very nice. The staff were very busy, but I felt our waiter was a bit pushy and clearly was looking forward to going home. Kept rushing us to choose our food, when we said we needed an extra couple of minutes, that's literally what he gave us before returning. He even cleared the plates while one of us was still eating. My biggest concern was the state of the chairs. The fabric was absolutely filthy. They needed a good steam clean or re-covering. Literally covered in stains. Not pleasant to sit on.

Have been going there for years and it never disappoints. Good food, drinks and atmosphere. It's still reasonably priced for what you get.

I went out for dinner tonight with my partner to celebrate my 21st birthday, and we had a great experience. Our server (Lisa) was well spoken, attentive, and all-around brilliant. The food was cooked perfectly and came reasonably quickly :) A great atmosphere and an overall great evening spent at Miller and Carter.

Went for a quick meal whilst visiting Southampton, amazing food.

I went on a Tuesday lunchtime, around 2pm and it was fairly quiet, lovely service from my waitress Izzy. Food came out hot and in good time. I had the goats cheese, steak sandwich and tiramisu and it was all so good, good value for the quality of food and service. Definitely recommend, will be coming back very soon. Thank you so much.

Arrived on time for our 3pm reservation. Order taken promptly at 3.10pm- starters arrived at 3.30pm and were eaten and cleared by 3.45pm. By 4.30pm our main course still hadn’t arrived. I complained at the front desk and the food arrived around 4.45pm. The meat ( turkey ) was badly overcooked and appeared slightly burnt, the vegetables and potatoes were of a very acceptable quality. We paid the bill ( expensive , bearing in mind the lack of quality and service) and left promptly. Our first ever experience of Miller & Carter and undoubtedly our last. Very frustrating as we had been very much looking forward to it.

An amazing steak, all dishes were plated beautifully with generous portions on extra sides. Lots of alcoves and tables so you can easily chat and enjoy your meal. Would have liked some Dijon mustard - pub only does English mustard. Onion loaf was very crispy.

My family and I (17 in all) went for our Christmas meal get together. I found the service to be slow( at one point I thought they had forgotten us) and considering what we paid for the food it was abysmal poor. And although I don't like big portions what we were served was children's portions. The food was also not served hot,warm at best. Then to cap it all off we have a service charge added to our bill. We had our Christmas meal here last year and it was excellent,so not sure what went wrong this year.☹

We ate at Miller and Carter on Friday for both our Birthdays. What a treat ! We've visited before and the experience is always top notch. Lisa was our server and is absolutely amazing .... what a credit to the company. Nick was the grill chef and my husband enjoyed his 16oz ribeye very much. I had the lamb and it was cooked to perfection 👌 Well the visit for a special treat

Received very friendly and attentive service from Lisa, despite the restaurant being busy she managed to make our party feel like we were the only table in the restaurant. The order was all correct and the steaks served to our liking. A shout out to Stevie the grill chef for excellent food. Miller & Carter are a cut above other steak houses locally. We were the four guys near the window, not on a works Christmas night out!

Nothing special and extremely overpriced for what you get. Had better meals at half the price elsewhere.

Our decision to have a late lunch played out well as the meal we both had was delicious. The steaks were probably the most succulent and well cooked we've experienced, really!! (especially for this level of outlet, really well done Mario, escuse the grill pun!). Our waitress Lisa was attentive and charming, I appreciate we were in later and it wasn't that busy but she was still excellent. The only thing that lets the establishment down is the way it looks from the outside, peeling paint, and the well worn decor in places inside ie toilets. Just needs a good overhaul :) We were very happy with our visit though, so thank you guys, appreciated.

The potato rosties were rubbery, the food was not hot when delivered to the table and the service was extremely slow.

Sue our server was superb throughout the whole time we were there. The atmosphere and food wait time were good. Our grill was Mario and there was absolutely no fault with the food from anyone on the table. Really happy with our evening and would happily recommend.

Festive share amazing cauliflower cheese 10/10

Steak very low quality for the price of it. Wouldn’t recommend this place as a steak house. The chicken and chorizo dish was very nice. Our servicer Lisa was very nice and very pleasant and professional.

Lisa our waitress was attentive and kind, cleared our table regularly and checked in with us periodically. Food was delicious and plentiful, well done Mario!

Norbert was a very good server and very attentive. Always was checking to make sure everything was all ok and the food was brilliant.

Norbet was our server. He was attentive, and amazing from the minute we sat down until the minute we left. He was such a pleasant young man and made us laugh. Over all experience was brilliant!

Had a really nice evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary on 05/12. Both our greeting on arrival and then our service by Lauren was really good - staff even wishing us a happy anniversary as we were being seated (id mentioned it when I booked online). We felt staff were really good at being friendly and conversational, without it seeming fake or forced. It's also little things like when you say you might want another drink with the main course, Lauren remembered to bring one without being prompted. She was also really good at facilitating us taking our desserts home as we were too stuffed to eat them. Having an efficient but really friendly server makes the difference for us now, as eating out is not cheap anymore. Thought Lauren was exceptional. Food was delicious too (thanks Stevie).

Our first time at miller and carter and it was the best meal of the year! I have never had a steak cooked so perfectly, our starters, sides and desserts were also phenomenal. Our servers were so lovely and really made the experience amazing, also shout out to the bartender who nailed the Long Island iced teas! We can’t wait to come back!

My husband and I took my parents out to say thank you, Millar and Carter was the obvious choice. We all hade another great experience, the food and service was fantastic, cooked by Steve. Lisa the server was amazing, joyful and knowledgeable. We had starters, mains and deserts with multiple drinks, the bill was reasonable with nothing unexpected. We really look forward to next time.

First time customer the atmosphere was terrible with lots of customers displaying annoyance with sound levels. Talking to people on the same table was impossible. Service at the beginning was fine but as the restaurant begun to become more busy our mains took 45+ minutes to arrive with it being warm and the steak not being cooked as requested. This was also after asking the waiter how long our mains would be. The service went down hill at the point the staff couldn't cope with the amount of guests in the restaurant. All in all wouldn't recommend the brand to friends and won't be returning!

Large party waited on by Lisa she was her usual great self nothing was too much trouble very welcoming and friendly. Food was enjoyed by all well cooked and presented by Mario chef.

First visit for a Christmas lunch with some old work friends. Nice welcome. Great ambience with unobtrusive background music. Festive fare was very tasty and nicely presented. We were all very pleased with our choice of the venue.

I have now been to Miller & Carter multiple times and the food has always been fantastic. The service I cannot fault. Today Laura served us and she is an absolute dimond making sure our meal was correct. Unfortunately for her the chef did not quite get our steak right tonight. However laura corrected this oversight with a smile. Will definitely be back soon Thank you.

Absolutely brilliant service and food! Second time we've been and it was just as, if not more delicious. Our daughter picked to go here for her birthday, tonight and it didn't disappoint. Leyla was exceptionally happy, patient with us ordering so much and made our daughter feel very chuffed when she wished her a happy birthday. The man at front of house also wished her a happy birthday, which was a very nice touch. It says on the bottom of the QR scanner that the grill chef is called nick. He and all of the other hard working staff, absolutely nailed every meal 👌 10/10
