John was our host and brilliant. Very patient and accommodating. It was pleasure being looking after by him. I will definitely be back the Epping Forest branch!!!

Booked for the wrong place accidentally so actually didn’t have a booking when we arrived, the manager Michael was super friendly and accommodating and sorted us a table. The food was lovely and our waitress Hayley was amazing !

Very slow service, over an hour for main course, but what was most concerning, my partner has allergies, ordered creme brulee, and informed server , who came back to tell us there was no ingredients listed on the packet!!! Left us speechless, ordered ice cream instead, but certainly won't be returning, to establishment, that takes it time to serve mysterious food in packets???

Well Overpriced, chips cold no slaw as advertised on menu , shame normally good but prices have gone up and meal size and quality gone down, don’t honestly think a miller n carter which is a basic restaurant should be charging neally £40 for a steak

Came for a family birthday meal. Ahmet was extremely friendly and funny, making jokes with the family. He was very attentive, never needed to wait long for drinks etc. overall great service. Food was lovely too.

We visited recently, and while the service from our waiter was excellent—he was friendly, polite, and very helpful—the food left much to be desired. The lamb rump was particularly disappointing. I understand portion sizes can vary depending on the weight, but this was two very small pieces: one looked like a tiny lamb chop, Neither piece was cut, and it wasn’t served with the red wine sauce it was supposed to come with. The chips were overcooked, and it seemed like the food had been left under the heat lamps for a while before being brought to our table. The lady who brought the food didn’t ask if we wanted any sauces, and by the time our waiter returned and asked, we’d already started eating. The steak was fine, and the boys enjoyed it, the burgers were okay, chips overcooked and tasted dry.

We received excellent customer service from start to finish from Rory. He is a true asset to the team at Miller & Carter, and they are fortunate to have him. His professionalism and attention to detail made the experience exceptional. The food was fantastic and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. The only thing that could be improved is the restaurant temperature, as we all felt a bit chilly during our visit. Again, a big thank you to Rory will definitely be back

Had a great time here. The food was amazing and the drinks were great. The food was cooked beautifully and the steak was great, I had a T bone and the sides were lovely. Also, the service was great, our waitress was lovely and even sung me Happy birthday 🎈 :-)

Went here on Sunday, had a fantastic waitress (sadly I don'tknow her name). The Prawn Cocktail starter was lovely, the prawns were a really good size and there was plenty of sauce. The rump steak was cooked to perfection and chose the chunky chips which were delicious too. Sticky toffee pudding to finish. I couldn't fault any part of the meal and look forward to my next visit.

All staff were lovely and the food was outstanding. Will definitely be returning.

We came in yesterday for a meal and sadly I can’t remember the name of the lady that served us but Micheal the manager was soooo professional and catered for everyone of our needs he went above and beyond especially for our allergen requirement's which for us is imperative as it’s life threatening! Made us feel 100% safe. We will be returning for that dirty burger 🤤

We had a lovely meal here and the experience was made even better with the service Ahmet gave us… we have 2 toddlers who were being very challenging but he helped to entertain them with the promise of ringing the kitchen bell if they sat and ate all their food…. This did the trick and they rang the bell to the cheers of the kitchen staff. It was a lovely touch, thank you Ahmet!

This was a meal of two halves. For me it was overpriced and disappointing, Wifey enjoyed hers. I had eaten here a few years ago and wasn't impressed at the time but as it is a shortish walk through the forest from where we live we thought we would give it a go for a late Sunday lunch. We booked a table a route for 14.50 and when we arrived at 14.30 were seated straight away. Our waiter complimented Wifey on her appearance, she is stunning, and gave me an underhanded comment. He took our drinks order and made sure to understand any allergies we mentioned. The pink gin Wifey chose was unavailable so she made do with a normal gin and tonic. I had the usual water. The menu is basically Steak and a few other items. I wanted the Dirty Burger but they didn't have it so plumped for the bacon, cheese burger and seasoned fries. Wifey chose the half chicken and swapped the fries for Camembert potatoes. The dishes arrived and mine was pathetic( as per the pic, yes that's a normal sized dinner plate not a platter ) while Wifey's was a proper meal. I must remember to just have what she's having. My burger was bog standard in a crispy bun, the chips were hard and luke warm, the plate was red hot and remained so until I had finished eating. Wifey enjoyed her meal. For deserts I asked for an Americano, extra hot with hot milk as our neighbouring table had sent their coffee back as they were cold. Wifey had the sticky toffee pudding and ice cream which she enjoyed. Her go to desert but normally with custard. After my previous visit I had said I wouldn't go back. I just wish I'd stuck to my earlier decision.

Had a nice Fathers Day meal here today. Seating was nice and spacious, and Covid friendly. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful, my only gripe, was that my choice of non alcholic drink wasn't available and my 2nd choice ran out when I went to re-order.

I received no service, food quality was terrible for the price, my drink was flat, the food took ages to come out and we waited 20 minutes for our bill

Went with part of 10 sat down 7.45pm still waiting for mains at 9.15pm arrived finally my dirty burger looked like something dog a vomited I didn’t touch it husband ate his been in bed all day with sickness and upset stomach . Another of our party had ribs and they were raw another sent steak back again raw when she asked well done wouldn’t eat here again !!!!

Not for the first time the food and service was great - wonderful attitude from our server who was brilliant. Really busy time of year and the service was on point. A credit to the company.

We had a 5pm booking on 17th December with the restaurant being quite quiet at that point. However, it had ramped up considerably as we neared the end of our meal. Great service from Nicole throughout A+++

Food was excellent. Service was amazing , very friendly. The only thing was the ladies toilets , there was only one toilet in working order the others were either blocked or not clean. Pointed it out to the waitress and she acknowledged it and said she would get someone to look into it. Apart from that we really enjoyed the food. Fantastic steak. 😁

Came for the 1st time Saturday with friends. Food was great as was the service. What I really liked was the fact we weren't rushed, so was able to enjoy our time in the restaurant

Enjoyed a wonderful family meal last night and Connie was great managing us all. Food as always is superb and I loved the fuss made of the birthday girl (my mum). Could do with dimming the lighting slightly as the evening gets later.

I have now been to this restaurant. It's quite well appointed inside though for a big fancy Steak House the choice of drinks at the bar was uninspiring. I didn't want an alcoholic drink and the only choice was bottles of Coke or regular Pepsi Max. I like the cherry so I was a bit disappointed. We were served by a very nice lady who got everything right with our order. So to the food. I chose a 16oz Ribeye just for the experience and it was quite ordinary. You don't realise how boring a lump of meat can be without much to accompany it. Just dull. No vegetables to speak of unless you count a quarter of a lettuce in a bowl with a dressing of your choice. Why no side salad or some hot steamed vegetables? My fellow diners tried the Ribeye, Sirloin and a dirty burger. The burger was so ordinary I was surprised. I expected it would be a smashed burger with a pile of cheese and bacon and stuff toppling over. It wasn't, and we all thought the amount of fries or chips was very meagre, considering they cost just a few pence per portion. The accompanying sauce was quite good and sufficient. I don't think I would recommend this place to a friend or even visit again. Thank you.

Visiting family, we agreed on a meal out. I fancied wings and ribs. Wings were quite good and the ribs, whilst meaty and quite tasty, came up anaemic looking with sauce on the side rather than grilled onto the meat. Also the membrane was left on the ribs during the boiling process. They were OK but not as good as in previous visits. One diner had sirloin steak which he enjoyed. Our service was very good.

Could not fault! Amazing food amazing service great atmosphere! We attended Sunday evening around 8pm for a birthday meal! We were greeted by lovely FOH staff! Our server was Sophie! She was absolutely amazing and made our night really! She couldn’t help out enough, great knowledge and great banter! Just what you want when out for a meal. She really pulled out all the stops for the birthday experience. Took loads of pictures for us and recommended dishes (which were amazing by the way, lemon tart to die for) thanks Sophie for making our night

Laurie who was our waiter was so lovely and let us order a starters as we were super hungry! Everything came out in amazing time! We had an amazing table too and a wonderful night celebrating

They have a variety of steaks to choose from, and alternatives for others who fancy something different. I really like the onion loaf that comes with a steak order. The restaurant was nice and tidy and had a nice layout. Our server, Connie, was very friendly and professional and quick to serve us :)

A solo dinner on a Saturday night without a booking. Was not made to feel unwelcome and the manger found a table straight away. I don’t know my waitresses name but apparently it was her first night on the floor, you’d think she been there years. Professional and friendly. I haven’t been to a miller and carter in years due to bad service and bad food but this place may of saved the franchise for me and I visit more of them in the future.

Went along for an early Xmas lunch get together with friends. Restaurant was very welcoming and had a lovely festive atmosphere. Menu had plenty to choose from, around what you might expect for it's type. Can recommend the calamari and rack of ribs, very meaty and lovely sweet bbq flavour. Our waiter Ahmet was a joy. He really made the difference to our experience from good to great, giving us service with a smile and a laugh. Booked up to go again the other side of Xmas.

A fabulous restaurant, in a great location made even better by our amazing waitress Connie. I knew what I wanted, however my 2 girls weren't sure. Connie help by explaining the different cuts of meat and how they are best cooked. Certainly be going back

Me and my husband dined at the wakes arms restaurant, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, especially our waiter Ahmet. He was very knowledgeable about the food and wine and was a great character which made our experience very pleasant. Also the food was delicious, would definitely recommend and we will be going back soon with the rest of the family.

Visited after a walk in Epping Forest for a late lunch on a Monday in November. Surprisely it a number of other customers so it had some atmosphere. My partner had the squash salad which came with a large piece of roast squash not little pieces - so don't be afraid of still feeling hungry if you order the salad. Service was great, we had a veryhelpful lady who looked after us and offered suggestions, brought drinks at just the right time. I had very nice vegitarian options, very well presented. Pleased that it wasn't another nut roast! Although we walked from another public carpark, there was plenty of space here to park.

Exceptional First Visit to Miller & Carter Epping I recently visited Miller & Carter Epping for the first time, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment I arrived, the bar team set the tone with their warm and lovely service. They were friendly, attentive, and made me feel welcome right away. The food was just as impressive as the service, arriving in a reasonable time and cooked to perfection. Every bite reflected quality and care, making it clear that this place truly values its customers’ dining experience. On top of that, the restaurant itself was spotless, adding to the overall comfort of my visit. Cleanliness and a pleasant ambiance make such a difference, and Miller & Carter Epping nailed it. We have been to this venue several times, and usually have a good time, but our most recent visit was disapointing. The service was slow, we waited a long time for the finished plates to be cleared, after a long wait for the food. The waiter was lifeless and slow. Our table was next to a doorway and under a very loud speaker which made conversation difficult. It will be some time before we choose to return, it's a shame because it used to be good.

Went there on Sunday . Scallops starter contained 3 small scallops for 13 pounds . Brie pot was boring & bread was hard . This one really is the worse of all M&C for food . The only good thing was the lovely sever . Do better

We visited for my mums 88th birthday celebration, our waitress mad a fuss of my mum and brought out the birthday cake we had taken with us and joined in when we sang happy birthday to her. My sister had an issue with her knee and our waitress helped her to keep it elevated to help with the pain.
