Miller & Carter Steakhouse in Warrington

I used to love this place but it’s getting worse and worse. Steak was not so good quality and badly cook. They serve chips/fries non home made. At this price they could cut potatoes themself ! Also the waiting time was close to 1h. Too long for lunch.

Food was absolutely delicious and we were cared for Jade who couldn’t do enough for us. Highly recommend

Lauren Howard at the Warrington branch was absolutely amazing! She was so friendly and helpful, could not fault our visit! Definitely recommend this restaurant☺️

We had an amazing visit to miller and carter with our party of 3 couples. Teneca, our waitress looked after us all evening. We splurged on the sharing steak and lobster. Most of the food was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing, we only had 1 issue with the lobster tail being over cooked. This matter was resolved and we were very happy with how this was dealt with. We will be visiting again soon.

January 2025: New management seems to of let standards slip. On a number of recent visits, we have had a number issues ranging from under or done steak to onion loaf which seems to have been reheated and reheated. A rare steak coming out as medium seems to be happening now more often. Photos from original review. 2023 Original review: Absolutely awesome food. Great service!! Practically zero wait time. Waitress was really attentive. Just ensure you book. If I'm being picky it could do with a lick of paint and a dust especially in the toilets. The new himalayan steak was fabulous. This was an impromptu lunch with a friend, food atmosphere, is lovely and relaxing, I had ribs, I wish I'd asked for more sauce, service was a bit slow, but would recommend

The place is nice. Food is good, tasty and done with care. Our waitress was lovely and extraordinary. We had people visiting from abroad and they were in love with how nice our waitress was. Unfortunately I forgot her name. The place is definitely worth a visit. Everything was good but the staff were amazing. Thank you very much.

We went for my daughters 21st birthday at 730pm.. We ordered drinks which took a erternity to come..... Every time we ordered drinks it took too long to arrive Service wss very very slow.. Our steaks was well over done sent back and had too wait again By this time some of our family had eaten there food and we were still waiting Then they got the order wrong we were well than less inpressed... Kept having to chase our server LOLA for our drinks ..... We waited that long for food and drinks we were last to leave your resuraunt... To also pay a bill of £330.00 was unexceptable... we as a famiy of 6 was let down by your company....

The service was shocking as well as the wait time for food.. we were seated at our table at 5:40 and only ended up finishing our food around 9pm, we had to get up and ask for our drinks as they were just left sitting on the bar, food was cold when it arrived but we had waited that long we couldn't be bothered complaining.

Having always rated miller and carter 5☆tonight's experience can only be described as poor. Waited 45mins for a drink wasn't even asked if we wanted a sweet. Food was excellent but service has got down will. From nothing is to much trouble to anything is to much trouble It wasn't a 5 ☆ reviews

Regular customer, but today was a terrible experience. Starters needed longer in the fryer as they were very floury (chipolte chicken) We then ordered then sharing board (butchers block). The onion loafs which included our 2 daughters as well, so four in total were a soggy mess. Unfortunately the waiter dropped our bone marrow over the table. Mistakes happen however the replacement had nothing to it at all. The replacement came quickly initially so when we asked for a third replacement bearing mind we held from eating the steak board awaiting the third replacement it never turned up. Steaks now cold, we decided to eat them as we paid 75 quid for the board. We only seen our host once as the place was rammed. When asked were she was they told us she's on her break. More waiters/waitresses needed when the place is really busy. Then waited another 30 minutes for our girls deserts. Can't say I'll be in a hurry to come back again for the price you pay you expect better service and quality.

Ate at Miller and Carter this evening with my Gf. Service from Chloe was exceptional; she was super attentive, had a laugh and joke with us and was a real credit to the restaurant (10/10.) The food was it's usual standard. We at from the rare treats menu which was fantastic value. The prawn cocktail for starters was yummy with loads of king prawns. The chicken and chorizo main was lovely although both mine and my Gf chips were a little salty. A nice choice of alcohol free drinks too winner. All round a really good deal.

Excellent meal, beautiful steak and accompaniments. The lettuce wedge a treat!

My daughter and her partner visited here last night Daughter ordered medium to well done steak it came and the middle was full of blood ! They took it back and stuck it back on the grill my daughter overheard the chef moaning she had returned it How rude is her how dare you ! Then to be told by staff he was moaning about other staff Absolutely disgusting treatment and horrible environment to eat in Shame on you 93 pound wasted You owe my daughter a refund I myself will never visit nor any of my family and friends again To the chef who made my daughter uncomfortable shame on you Learn some people skills and learn how to cook steak to a customers request Idiot ! Just to update after at least 20 calls to get thro I spoke to the manager well ignorance at its best Wouldn’t let me speak told me I’m abusive because I told him managers n chefs should not have a converstaion about customers when they can clearly see the anger because she sent the meal back Oh and Becareful they gave her rump steak not fillet ! Visited as a couple for a birthday lunch and ordered the fixed price lunch menu, great value and great taste. It was delicious! It all came out hot and at a good pace between 3 courses. Service with a smile was great from Laura and it was very relaxed. We had our 1 month old baby with us and sat on the bench tables for space with a car seat and space to breastfeed. All very easy, especially with the relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding!! Will be back again soon!

Usually really good but recently whenever we visited it has always had somthing wrong- small amount of food left, food has always been amazing and full of flavour but found food to be bland the last couple of visits which has put off future visits

50% of the food ok the other not satisfactory, service slow maybe due to being understaffed. On my visit half the steaks were unavailable. Staff themselves were very busy but pleasant.

I went with my wife. It was busy on arrival. Waited around 5 minutes to be shown to our table. Greeted by a member of the team and shown to our table. Told that there was no Cheddar Mushrooms and Bacon and Honey dressing for the lettuce wedge. (Disappointed as both of these options were what my wife wanted). Both had chipotle chicken for starters, they were tasty. Both had steak, wife had rump medium well with fries and beef dripping sauce - the meal came and it was cold. I had ribeye medium with béarnaise bone marrow sauce. Steak was cooked well, the onion loaf however wasn’t cooked all the way through and had raw batter through the inside. Both had crème brûlée which as usual was very tasty. Overall service was good, the waitress was very attentive. Starters were okay, mains were average and desserts were good. Below par for what we have come to expect from this Miller and Carter, having been here a few times and had good experiences.

Lovely food and staff although a little slow with service, was there over an hour before we got starters and not very attentive when it came to drinks orders, overall a good experience though

A really disappointing start to the new year! upon arrival had to wait for table to be ready and was asked to get a drink at the bar. Bar service was slow considering we were the only two people stood there & took 15 minutes to get a drink. Service from our waiter to start with was abrupt and rude. It seemed the restaurant was over booked and understaffed. Starters came out and were disappointing, overcooked king prawns. Main meal then came out 1hr 20 mins later and steaks were both cold. Which I sent back. Only to have the same steaks returned which had been placed back on the grill and were now overcooked. Disappointingly I felt the need to complain due to the poor service we had received. Danielle who was our second waiter after the staff had done a change over was the absolute opposite to our first! she was lovely, polite and couldn't do enough for you. I would not be returning to this restaurant if it wasn’t for her. Danielle dealt with the issues and had them resolved. Thank you Danielle!

One of my favourite places to eat dinner. The atmosphere is lovely, the food and cocktails are delicious, the staff are very professional and friendly. Couldn't fault the place nor the food. Highly recommended 👌

Nice atmosphere and decent service

Went out for a family meal which we do every year at Miller & Carter between Christmas and New Year. The main course was great but the starters and desserts were very poor with very small portion sizes. This was probably our worst experience we’ve had at Miller and Carter. So much so that we won’t be coming back next year.

We visited to celebrate our nieces 18th birthday. Our waitress, Alishia was really attentive and couldn’t do more to make our meal enjoyable. Thanks Alishia, we’ll definitely be back 👍🏻

Went to have a meal on Boxing Day for my Dads 80th birthday. My Mum and Dad tend to go for lunch earlier in the year and he likes the restaurant. They knew why we were there and we were looking forward to the meal. Sad to say that after a visit lasting four hours due to cold and poor quality food and extended waits for drinks and food it just wasn’t good. They gave us a £10 discount per head (8 of us) but even then the service didn’t improve. Our server was lovely and very apologetic and to be honest the only highlight of the meal. It’s a shame as had good experiences at other M&C outlets (especially Albert Dock). The 3 stars is for the server. Hope it improves.

To be honest it was horrendous we where shoved right in front of the entry to the fire exit in people’s way, we had to wait for food to be cooked again as it was cold and the deserts we asked for they didn’t have after ordering. We left early as it was just so bad even though we paid for the Boxing Day full course meal not getting our deserts.im not one to complain but it ruined our Boxing Day meal

Beautiful restaurant, stunning food and service

Alisha looked after us, she was extremely lovely and couldn’t do enough. Cocktail recommendation was spot on and the fact she was so smiley and happy made our visit a fab one. We both had fillet steak and it was lovely. Will be back soon :)

First time having Christmas lunch at Miller and Carter. Amazing food and wonderful service. Our server, Alisha, was helpful and prompt - nothing was too much trouble. Would come here again at Christmas 😀.

I went last weekend with my Dad we have been a few times and the food has always been good however last weekend the food was terrible my dad had his usual steak it was inedible it was full of gristle when I mentioned this to the waitress she said she would speak to the chef when she came back she said the chef said it is always like that. My rack of ribs was not a lot better. As for the chef and some of the other male staff shouting and messing about at first I thought it was a group of rowdy lads but then realised it was the staff members. Maybe this is why the last twice we have been it has been almost empty, I will think twice before going again especially as there are a lot of nice restaurants in Warrington now.

Lovely place, steak was not cooked to my liking but all in all the food is great.

Had a really disappointing Christmas dinner last week. Turkey was like processed ham (shaped into a ball) No roast potatoes and the parsnips and sprouts were cooked in garlic. Never had a bad meal there before so this was a bit of a shock.

Great dining experience. Alishia was our server for the evening and was fantastic. Great food and atmosphere. Lots of gluten free options available.

Great service, a few issues with the steaks but nothing major!

Went on 17th December. Bill came to around £200 for four of us. When my wife came to ask for the NHS discount the waitress said it is suspended over Christmas and will be reviewed in the New Year. Woah, Merry Christmas! I've seen replies to reviews about this previously in which M+C state, for up to 4 people and "Available 7 days a week excluding Christmas Day/ Boxing Day/ New Year’s Eve/ Mother’s Day/ Valentine’s day." Something's wrong then isn't it?

8oz Steak on the menu and was told they had run out BUT if I paid extra I could have a 12 oz. Staff couldn't care less. The food at best was Lukewarm .

The food was amazing, melt in the mouth steak, with the most amazing parfait, and our server Alisha was the most amazing, attentive host!

We hadn’t been to M&C for years! We decided to go because we had a dining out gift card which could be used there. We went for the fixed price lunch menu and ordered so much food! It was all delicious! Really lovely and hot, service was great and it was very relaxed. We had our 3 month old baby with us and finding space for a pram, needing to breastfeed, and change a nappy whilst there were all v easy and relaxed 😊 I don’t know why we hadn’t been for so long but we won’t leave it as long next time!

35 mins before served our drinks, then another half hour before even order taken for food. Staff seemed to be in world of there own as hardly anyone in at time I visited

We went on Saturday evening and my daughter has reminded me daily to leave a review. Fiona made quite the impression on her and us. Despite the restaurant being busy she never made us feel rushed and took the time to listen my daughter’s enthusiastic chatter (who gives Fiona 2100 stars!). Amazing service. The food was delicious (highly recommend the turkey ballotine on the festive menu). Will be returning.

Very large modern build restaurant in a commercial area. Friendly staff. Food was interesting and well cooked and presented. The à la carte menu was pretty expensive but there is also a choice of two courses daytime menu.

Fiona out waitress was particularly good. She went above and beyond in our request to move tables and serving us. She was very jovial and it was a pleasure to have her waiting on us

Dreadful. Waited 45 minutes for 2 mails to arrive. One was just about lukewarm, the other had been left under a heat lamp so long it was dried out. Seated out of the way, so were forgotten about. After serving the “food”, nobody came back to ask if everything was ok. We would have given the opportunity to rectify, but I wasn’t prepared to chase someone around the restaurant. Manager eventually turned. To be blunt, he looked like a tramp. He said he would’ve liked the opportunity to rectify the issue. When I told him that nobody came back he didn’t believe me. This used to be the go to place for a decent meal. Has gone down hill in recent times so will not be returning

First time at Miller and Carter and it was 10/10. Our waitress Ella was amazing! Very friendly and attentive, we had a slight issue with the food but it was sorted within 2 minutes of us pointing it out! Back up to 4 stars based on our most recent visits though we do now stick to the basic steaks and sometimes the 50 day aged ones. On last visit had to ask for our lettuce wedges as they didn't arrive before or with the steaks. Decor is starting to look a bit tired in places and could do with a refresh

Mark was amazing we had so many questions about stakes and he was more than happy to advise us before ordering made the whole process fun and informative we had a great time, recommend 💯 thank you to all there team so friendly warm and welcoming!

When we arrived we waited a while for someone to come to the front desk. The person who finally did come was extremely scruffy with unkempt hair, a scruffy jumper, jogging pants & trainers. My understanding is you have a dress code so I made sure our 2 teenagers were smartly dressed, shame your manager or FOH was not the same. We then waited a further 10-15 mins for anyone to come to our table to take a drinks order or just say I’ll be with you asap. I appreciate people can be busy but a quick check in would have taken seconds & made us feel less ignored. When we were finally served our drinks came quite quickly although initially went to the wrong table. Thankfully the food also came out quite quickly & was very good. Shame the greeter & service let you down. It was my 50th birthday, so quite a special occasion. I’d hesitate to return for a special event. I would also add that the couple waiting in front of us at the front desk left 15 minutes or so later without even being served. Perhaps they also disliked being ignored.
