Miller & Carter Steakhouse in Stratford-on-Avon

Service was very slow and the steak from the festive menu wasn’t very good quality. We have visited many times before and this time it was a bit of a let down.

Beautiful food, but what made it amazing was the attentive service from Jane.H. She looked after us from start to finish, always checking in, and having a laugh, making it a more personable experience. Thank you Jane.H.

Had an amazing time tonight, was served by Jane.H who gave me a laugh, lovely person, and caring. The steak was brilliant, first time having Ribye. So much flavour, definitely converted. Big thank you to Jane.H, and everybody else who made my night so special.

Visited Sunday 1st December, was served by Lauren who had just started but she did very well and was nice & friendly. We had the Sunday Sharer which was absolutely amazing, everything was cooked to perfection and very tasty - what a great idea, will definately be coming back.

Everything was great, only thing I would pick on is waiting times to order as we've waited good 20 minutes and had to ask..

was greeted and seated service was great . The room was cold and my wife couldnt take her coat off due to being to cold. The steak I ordered was cooked fine but when I tried to eat it couldnt due to the amount of fat . I expect more if paying a premium for a steak and wasnt worth the money I paid for it . The meal my wife had was perfect and she enjoyed that and her pudding very much

We went to the washford for a lovely dinner maisey was amazing and nothing seemed to be a challenge for her not only was she helping us but she was also amazing with the other guests especially a young child, she kept coming and checking if everything was ok and never left us waiting long the food was amazing thank you so much and we can’t wait to come back and see maisey all over again #who is this diva 💜

Our visit could have been spoiled by other diners in the restaurant, had it not been for the attentive host on duty* who became very aware of the noise and activity. She handled it all in an exemplary fashion and discreetly invited us to move to another part of the restaurant. We were impressed by her sensitivity and professionalism. The food as ever was fabulous. Thanks M&C *We didn't get her name sadly, but she wore her dark hair in a pony tail and wore glasses.

First visit to celebrate a friend's birthday. All courses were delicious and plentiful, (steak was a.maz.ing.) service (Jane H) was excellent, and really lovely atmosphere with people coming in to obviously celebrate special occasions. Looking forward to coming back soon! Updated to add second visit. All the above again (James providing excellent service this time!) Food just as fabulous, atmosphere lovely, drinks cold and plentiful, and easily managed with friend's allergy. See you again soon!

Enjoy coming here for a catch up with my friend, The lunch menu is good value for money and I've always had good meals here. Staff are friendly and atmosphere is good. Sorry no pictures of the food, it was in my mouth too fast 😅 😬

Very disappointing. Steaks were tough, peas were cold, restaurant was chilly. We had to wait far too long for the order for desserts to be taken, followed by another very long wait before they were brought to our table. 3 hours for lunch is ridiculous. The bill came to over £400 for 8 of us and it was not good value for money.

Bought my sister for her 16th birthday. Staff were amazing, especially Emily R who was really caring, friendly and attentive. Food great too - one of my favourite M&C branches.

Staff were amazing and couldn't be faulted. Food on the other hand, not so good. Calamari was mainly coating, far too crispy and the squid non existent. Fish and chips - the fish batter was overcooked and there was far too much batter compared to the quantity of fish. Such a shame...

Fabulous restaurant. Clean and inviting. Beautiful tasty food. All staff friendly, approachable and have a smile on their face. Nothing too much trouble. Food was perfectly cooked, nice and hot, and plenty of it. Soft drinks expensive.

Another fantastic meal at our go to place. Maisy has been by far the most accommodating, friendly and on point host we've had. Credit to the company.

Been to this miller and carter multiple times, and never had anything but a great evening. You get what you pay for! It's not cheap restaurant but the quality of the food, service and atmosphere makes it worth it. It's become a go to for me and my wife if we want a bit more fancy date night.

Great service from Maisey this evening

The Washford Mill was the perfect place to hold an 80th birthday lunch for our family member. The staff made it the success it was, they answered questions, were flexible and understanding and, on the day, were friendly, helpful and attentive. We were organising from a distance, and couldn’t visit in advance, and they made sure this was no problem. Their suggestion that we be seated in their conservatory area was a great one as it gave us a private space with good access for the wheelchair using members of our party. The Sunday menu was varied and interesting and gave everyone plenty of choices. We all very much enjoyed our meal and there were none of the issues that you sometimes find with a big group in restaurants. The food arrived promptly, at the same time for everyone, and there were no mix-ups with our pre-orders. It meant that we could really enjoy our meal and the occasion. We had a lovely afternoon celebrating together.

Nice location and service but the food was so-so. Asked for a medium rare ribeye steak it was more like well done. Plus range of beers on the pump was small and nothing to shout about. On the positive our waiter was very attentive and obviously knew his.job well. But I guess M&C are only a rebranding of Berni Inns at the end of the day

The set menu is fabulous value for money, would definitely recommend it. Although there were a couple of things that they'd run out of, what we did have was delicious.

We enjoyed a 16 Oz ribeye this evening. Food was excellent, service was great and the atmosphere was decent. The building looks like it used to be a beautiful old pub and before it must have been some kind of mill. Inside they have kept the watermill as a feature. It looks beautiful

We came in for a wedding anniversary meal. Our server Emily was very attentive. She asked if we were celebrating any occasion and even brought us out a slate with some biscuits and an anniversary message written in chocolate. Plenty of car parking and all staff seemed lovely. This is our local branch and we will definitely be back!

On Holidays from Australia to UK, we happened to call in for a evening Meal and Drinks. From the young lady at the reception desk to leaving, we were made feel special. Food Quality, value for money, waitress Maisey, Delightful & efficient. We also had the pleasure of meeting, the supervisor Lottie and knew the high standards went to every sector of the establishment. Thank You 10 out of 10.

I’m having to use a family members account to leave this review but this is for the reservation under Alex that was at 8pm tonight This was my first every miller and Carter experience, mine and my partners anniversary and our last chance as a couple to go out before our baby girl arrives in a few weeks From the moment we walked in the service was impeccable! The lady on the door couldn’t stop telling me how gorgeous I looked and even went out of her way to sort of show me off to other staff, as a heavily pregnant women, to be uplifted and shown off like that from a women I don’t know just made me feel so empowered and beautiful 🥰 Our server Darren was such a breath of fresh air!! He was so funny and relaxed but extremely informative and professional, his personality was vibrant and easy going and the whole experience with him just topped off a perfect anniversary! Don’t even get me started on how perfect the food was, we were so full but couldn’t stop eating because everything just tasted incredible, thank you so much to the chefs for an incredible meal and the BEST sticky toffee pudding I have ever had I’ve already informed the family we shall be re booking for my birthday in November and we’ll be bringing our baby girl to show her from a young age what quality really is when it comes to human interaction I can’t thank you all enough for how amazing you made our evening and how special it felt❤️

Today we held my daughters baby shower in the function room, there were 27 guests. We did do a preorder of the meals but the staff where absolutely exceptional. Not one complaint about any meal, everything ran like clockwork, the staff were so friendly and helpful. Even with last minute changes to orders and add ons. The staff were excited to congratulate my daughter about her baby and literally couldn't have done anything more for us. Thankyou to each n every member of staff that helped today run as smoothly as it did.

Totally amazing meal at my granddaughter's baby shower. Food was awesome, as was the staff. To serve 27 people and with no hiccups. It went like clockwork. It took the stress way from my daughter who had organised the event.

My husband & I attended this evening for our wedding anniversary and as always the meal was delicious. When our waitress Emily found out it was our anniversary she bought out a chocolate & strawberry celebration board for us which we thought was a really lovely touch.

James was a great server. Glasses were all dirty; water and all wine glasses. Proper grime, not just the odd water mark. Food great.
