Lovely atmosphere and great service

Restaurant beautiful inside, Staff very friendly Katie our server very polite. Some of the food not so nice, I had prawn cocktail barely any sauce so quite dry, also had a steak which was tough and two big chunks of gristle which I had to spit out, not very ladylike at all, some of our group had dessert, we then had to look for somebody to ask for spoons after sitting waiting for over 5 minutes. Honestly first time there and probably last time.

First and last visit , we were lucky enough to have vouchers, 1st I ordered medium steak which came very rare, beef dripping sauce was like water, chips were poor. 2nd. Wife ordered banoffee pie for desert it was mostly cream and one tiny bit of banana. Why are there not prices on the wine list. Basically overpriced and overrated

Alex N served us with a great service always had a smile and to make the first trip for my two girls really special she let them ring the bell for the chefs which we thought was a very kind thing to do. There was 6 of us altogether today and once again the food was absolutely amazing as always. My girls who are 8 years loved coming as they have been wanting to come to miller and carter for ages now and they said it’s the BEST restaurant EVER

The a la carte menu is not cheap, therefore we chose this restaurant for a special occasion celebration meal. The place was very busy. Everyone in the party enjoyed their steaks. I wouldn’t personally recommend the mac n cheese sides. Our server Tony was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu, thanks for acknowledging our special occasion so personally, a great touch! We will return.

Food was amazing, our server Sam was very nice and friendly, making us feel at home. He gave us great recommendations and was very attentive. Will definitely be back!

Charlotte W was the perfect host from when we entered the restaurant. Efficient to greet the table and made sure we were comfortable and happy with our food and drinks throughout. Food was lovely and enjoyed by both adults and children alike. A super evening

Charlotte W, our Steak Expert was a breath of fresh air. Nothing was too much trouble and she is a fantastic ambassador for you restaurant. Her level of service is the thing that would make us come back again.

This visit Jan 2025 there were 4 of us. We had the special menu which had a good choice. Two courses and we were full. Nice bottle of Merlot too. Alex our steak expert was lovely and provided great service with some good crack too! Last Visit Our waitress Jess was brilliant, helpful, friendly and just right level of attentiveness. Lovely meal (chateaubriand) as always. It was a quiet lunch time on a very cold day so atmosphere wasn’t buzzing but we were happy. Lovely food and wine and Jess popped by to check on us. We will be back.

Lovely family meal taking advantage of the Rare treat menu. A mixture of sirloin and rump steaks as cooked excellently as requested, I had the burger which was great. My Brother was leaving for Australia the next day and the staff brought out a lovely little remembrance of the night, very kind of them. All the staff were very helpful, fun and professional, Alex was a star ⭐ 👍🏻

Had one of the best steaks I've had in a long time here. You can tell just by the first cut of the knife it's going to be tender. Will be back for more I'm sure. The waiter Tony Andrews was top draw and loved the suggestions he made.

We had a meal at Miller & Carter in Tynemouth on News Year Days and feel compelled to pay tribute to everyone at the restaurant that ensured we had a fabulous experience. Firstly, it was great that they opened on the day as many of our local restaurants or foodie-pubs were either closed or not opening their kitchens. Despite being busy, we did not have long to wait before we were shown to our table. Our server was a lady called Alex whom we cannot praise highly enough. As well as being attentive in such a friendly way, her knowledge of the menu is exceptional and therefore her advice was first-class on what combinations worked well and not so well. My pal and I shared a “butchers block” while the wives had individual steaks and all 4 of us could have licked the plates clean! Thank you Alex and all your colleagues that made our evening so good.

Tony was a great host advising us on the many choices we had available to us. This was our first visit but not our last. Fillet was amazing, flavours fantastic and a lovely restaurant to have a short drive away from home. Highly recommend. Top quality NZ wine too.

We booked to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The staff were all friendly and pleasant. We were served by Alex N who was great and interacted with our kids as they ordered their own meals. We were asked if we were celebrating anything to which it was my wife’s birthday which once Alex N was aware came back with a dessert treat which was unexpected. Overall great service and excellent food. Well recommended.

Every time we have visited this restaurant it has been wonderful. Lovely Charlotte N took great care of us. Lovely setting, staff, food and atmosphere. The best M&C we have been to by far.

We visited with our little boy and Alex couldn't have been more friendly. Food and service was 10 out of 10. She made such a fuss of our son, it really made him feel so special and completely made the experience for us.
