Bartender Josh was amazing the service was top quality

Visited to watch sport. Unfortunately this pub seems to allow team colours to be worn. Which resulted in some unsavoury exchanges during the game I was watching. Bar staff gave a mild warning to one person. After that, nothing else was said. Can I also add, that charging £6:35 for a pint of lager in St Andrews is frankly disgusting. Absolutely no need for such prices.

Edited - While not wheelchair accessible, Mollys is a lovely pub with kind staff. They have a wheelchair accessible bathroom, and I hope that they will install a wheelchair accessible entrance so that I can come back sometime. Thank you for responding to my previous review and making a change - accurate accessibility information is so key! Previous review - Molly Malones is not wheelchair accessible, despite their google page saying that they are. I have called on numerous occasions to speak with someone about this and no one picks up. Accurate accessibility information is the bare minimum if you aren’t going to ensure that disabled people can access your establishment.

Update- September 2024 Lacking in atmosphere. Needs renovated as inside looking very scruffy especially the toilets.

Not been here for a couple of years, so I decided to pop in on Sunday before heading back for the bus. Nothing much has changed, the decor is old and the toilets need updating. They don't serve food anymore. Lacking in atmosphere, a few people in watching the football and part of the bar area blocked off. On a positive note, they are making a beer garden, but I doubt I'll rush back here anytime soon.

Terrible pub, just popped in for one drink. My partner was at the bar and bought a couple of drinks. Told the bar man to take one for himself, where i come from that means the bar man takes a pound for the tip jar. This guy took us to our word and took the price of a pint for his tip. £5.50 Fair to say my Mrs learnt her lesson.

Popped in for a quick drink while waiting on a bus from the nearby bus station, but it was a poor choice. No atmosphere about the place and just nothing to rave about. Disappointed

That is probably the best pub , in the Town , often live music and bar staff is super friendly hence is mostly busy hence is brilliant to meet strangers and make new friends.

Molly Malones, the place to be on a night out in St. Andrew’s. The vibes are high as you can waltz in with your pizza / noodles and enjoy a pint of your choosing. Lead by Sierra, she has the team produce a welcoming environment with great yarns and even better tunes. Like a drum with no sides, it’s hard to beat.

Great pub with a friendly welcome for locals, students and visitors alike. Hardworking, enthusiastic and incredibly patient staff. Whether you're popping in after work, watching a big game or enjoying a night out, Molly's is an excellent spot. Kitchen is currently closed but the crisps get 5 stars anyway!

We have been regularly visitors to Mollys over the years, and we have always enjoyed being there . Although On sat 13th July my friend unexpectedly joined us . He was asked to be quiet ., which he eventually did. It should have been noticeable that I also encouraged my friend to stop , When I went to order a drink . I was refused to be served. Although it was not myself or my fiancée making a noise . . I think it would have be more professional if Daniel the barman had suggested that he would not be serving my friend. If he had. I would have accepted that . I would have also been able to tell him my friend was leaving Mollys, and the drink was not for him. Me or my fiancée were not drunk.. I would like to point out , there is more shouting out loud from many customers when there is football on the screen. I do not have a problem with this. Customers are still allowed to be served . The sad point being, my fiancée often goes to Mollys . As it was the last pub he had a drink with his son that he lost 2 years ago. He always manages to sit in the exact seat . . The one we were sitting at . It may not seem much, but it gives him some comfort. Now he has been refused to be served at a bar that he has gone to in years . Which was no fault of his in any way. We were both made to feel very unwelcome.. I feel this situation should have been delt with in a more professional manner... good communication would have resolved this unnecessary situation.

This is my favourite pub in general and consider it to be my local even although I live 10 miles away. Staff are always attentive and serve you with a smile on their face (unlike most pubs in town). Based on the nature of this pub, it could be absolutely rammed or just a few people in. Despite this, the atmosphere is always top notch, and I would suggest this pub has something for everyone. Although the pub doesn't sell food, I have awarded 5 stars as they will allow you to bring a snack in which is more than ideal for me

was here last month with friends, was not good, place was not very clean and staff were too busy talking to same other, the only good thing about the visit was the singer.

Je suis allé dans le bar avec une biere en canette que j’avais acheté avant. La serveuse m’a demandé de lui donner car j’avais pas le droit de l’avoir dans le bar. Ce qui est par ailleurs totalement illegal. J’ai bu une gorgée pour en profiter une dernière fois, et lui ait donné. Elle m’a dit que c’était interdit et que je devais donc partir. J’étais dans l’incompréhension et lui ait demandé pourquoi je devais partir et elle m’a dit que c’etait interdit. Enfin bref cet endroit est un scam n’y allez pas. Fuyez!

Superb place, excellent atmosphere and service

Didn’t try the food, but I’m sure Irish food is class. The service was decent like every other pub. We went there to watch the champions league arsenal vs Porto, which surprisingly a lot of Scottish uni kids are a fan of. lol But my highlight to the day was the girl who was performing live music x I’m a tourist at St Andrews so not sure if she sings everyday, but do want the pub to let her sing with a non football and a bit quiet audience. She’s an amazing singer with a lovely voice!

We popped in for a night cap. It was certainly not the most relaxing experience. However it was definitely an experience. It was refreshers week and rammed with students. The drinks were good value. We ordered gin and tonics and they were served in a nice gin glass. We only stayed for one. It was very lively and plenty going on n

The Guinness has been better in here. Slightly disappointing.

Currently next to some construction which during the day may result in loud noise, however at night it poses no real issues. The pub has a nice seating area and lots of space, a nice little outdoor area too

Lovely atmosphere for a little pub. Very student heavy which can be a hit or a miss. They sell one of my favourite ciders: Thistly Cross, which is hard to come by in the other local pubs it seems. Bar have a tips jar but the bartenders aren't working hard enough to go any extra than serving the endless tide of people awaiting at the bar.

Been going to st Andrew's for a while now but never visited maybe because it's down from street level. But last visit tried it for a pint of Guinness and was pleasantly surprised.Very cheap for a round compared to others in vicinity and staff and service first class.Good for football or rugby always on screen.Doesnt serve food but great for a few beers.😄

Lovely wee bar in a pretty little town 😍

Had a relative with me who is 35 years old but he was refused alcohol as bar staff thought was not old enough so our whole group of five just left. If there is a genuine reason for asking to check somebody's ID that is fair enough but my relative actually looks much older than 35 and easily could pass for a 45 year old. When he was asked for ID he just walked away in disgrace. Would avoid this establishment, terrible experience, pub up the road made everybody in our group so welcome and did not question my 35 year old relative's age. I feel personally anybody say a person between 19 and 22 years old age who gets refused alcohol due to looking under 18 feels embarrassed, so can you imagine how a 35 year old feels to be refused alcohol? We must have easily have spent over £220 on food and drink in the other pub up the road so somebody's stupidity has cost this particular pub a lot of money, so querying ID too much is simply going to put this pub out of business at some point in the not too distant future which would be a shame as looks great inside.

After driving 300 miles to see my daughter the day before her 21st birthday I was refused service as she didn’t have “acceptable” id. It was 7pm and she wanted a coke. She had photo id on her phone and my assurance that she was 21 the next day but we were told she could not come in the pub at all. She has been in Mollys many times before. I have NEVER been refused service in a pub ( I am 67 years old ). A little bit of common sense would have been appreciated

The pubs in Scotland are mostly good. The Molly Malones, I was in two, are ideally furnished and so cozy. Unfortunately I won't be going there again.

No food served lots of students

We received a Celtic welcome from the staff of this fantastic bar that was truly amazing. We were in St Andrews for the Walker Cup and the staff really warmed to us and ensured our group had a great night. Big shout out to Jenny & Matilda, two of Scotland's best. Thank you ladies, well done.

Enjoyed a couple of pitchers of beer to some good live music and sports in TV. Additionally there seemed to be a competitive darts game to be taking place which was also entertaining to watch

I like a decent, well poured pint of Guinness. So I was intrigued as to whether I’d get one at “Molly Malones”. Without the briefest vestige of a doubt, I can quite safely the Guinness poured at “Molly Malones” was (by far) the finest and most perfect tasting I’ve yet had, so much so that I stayed for a second pint. Even though this fine and most atmospheric of pubs is part of a chain (Belhaven, owned by Greene King), it still very much had Irish mojo in spades. The guy who poured my pint was from Belfast and he along with all the staff I interacted with were so friendly, polite and courteous. Highly recommended! 10/10 A1+

Went there tonight hoping to have some good pub grub and enjoy live music. Unfortunately it looks like they don't have a kitchen anymore!!! Just as well there are plenty of other good pubs in St. Andrews.

I came in a couple days ago with my parents for lunch - really great atmosphere and incredible food. Staff are really friendly and helpful, especially Jen who was charming and gave some really good food and local beer advice. I would definitely come back here for the food and drinks but even more so for kind people like Jen!

Horrible. Utterly horrible. Poor service. Worker was rude. Asked for Id and when presented with valid ID proving age 18, was rudely turned away, when they don’t even ID minors. Disgraceful. The girl should be ashamed of herself. Makeup doesn’t hide an ugly personality

On the first day God said "let there be light" that was tiring for God and he needed a drink so, only the second day he said "let there be Molly Malone's, St Andrews". I personally frequent this pub and when I'm not chucking at the bartenders chat, I am enjoying a wonderfully poured beer. This is a place I love, a place I will treasure forever and a place that I'll hold closer to my heart than my future children. It's pretty good :)

Ran put of magners at 3pm on an old firm day, not good planning. Particularly when when you pay for it and find out after the event!

We went in and ordered 2 draft lemonades and 2 Smirnoff ices, they charged us £15.75. It was ridiculously overpriced and when we got to our table we added a little bit of vodka to our lemonades and got kicked out which is fair enough I was told by my friends we weren’t allowed to bring our own alcohol but at the time I was not aware. The girl who came to kick us out was blonde and wearing a blue jumper on 30th March and came over and said “If you’re too poor to afford the pub don’t come out” the comment was completely unjustified and she had no idea what financial situation I was in. I could afford the alcohol but if you’re going to overcharge us anyway why should I bother?? She then followed us outside and we were told we could not take the ices with us which I expected however we had to stand outside the door and she put her water bottle right in front of my face so at the end when she went to grab it my friend thought she was about to hit me in the face. I would not recommend on the fact the staff are so rude and the drinks are extremely overpriced.

Great place to enjoy the Guinness and sport

Mollys St Andrews is the best pub I’ve ever been to it’s always packed good atmosphere and the staff are so helpful. If you’re a st andrews student this is the place to go. If not then go anyways. Live music on weds nights is great and always buzzing when football games on. Love Mollys x

Popped in for a quick pint the other day, very friendly atmosphere! Young man behind the bar recommend their own IPA (which was lovely) and even chilled my wife’s wine glass for her! Will be back.

Great for some almost reasonable prices on drinks. So much sport on you could spend all day in here just watching constant sports. Only reason is 4 stars for saying they serve food on the outside when they do not.

Decent bar with staff who know how to pour a pint of guinness. Only problem some bar staff unable to identify how to serve in turn. Food off a little early.

Everywhere you go there's a molly malones can't beat it .

The right glass is a pint of Guinness, the left one is a Morgans and Coke! After much arguing the supervisor replaced the drink with the appropriate size. Won't be back - the experience ruined the evening.

While visiting St Andrews , popped in for a drink . Friendly enough bar guy . Used the gents , stench was dreadful . Very off-putting . Can't be that difficult to rid smell of urine .

I bought a beautiful burger at this establishment with my SO but whenthe bartender Wendy came over with the condiments i was absolutely shaking in my boots at the sight of mayonnaise. I was so disgusted and horrified that i ordered another strongbow dark fruits. Anyway amazing service and i would definitely go here again. Great food and amazing vibes. Screw Mayo tho. What a fooking legendary place! Live music, beautiful people, good drinks! What more can you ask for? Go any night and you will have a blast of a time! Don't forget to tip your bartenders! Order a beer and bump and have a seat!

Visited on a day trip to St Andrews, great wee pub. Staff were very welcoming, we were served quickly by a friendly barman who was happy to answer all our questions. Will definitely pop in again next time I'm in St Andrews.

A couple of us stopped in here for a quick refresher but ended up staying for more than a few! The young guy behind the bar could not have been more welcoming and was full of chat. They made sure our pup was provided with plenty of fresh water, which was especially appreciated the heat outside. Recommend a visit here for a great pint, service and atmosphere.

Another fantastic trip to St Andrews rounded off with a visit to our favourite pub in the town. Cheap wine and brilliant service. What more can you want!

Good atmosphere for a Thursday evening in late July. Varied clientele from students to golf tourists. There was live music playing in one half of the pub but didn't realise until we left.

Great atmosphere, fabulous friendly staff and very affordable prices. We only popped in for a quick drink and ended up staying there for the whole afternoon and early evening. Have already recommended Molly’s to my friends.

Rude young barman who had no interest whatsoever. We went elsewhere without staying. The fact everywhere else we went on our visit was very busy and this place was nigh on empty May tell its own tale. Avoid

Unfortunately popped in this afternoon for a drink. Should have turned and walked back out, lifted dirty glasses to clear a table but when sat at it was very sticky - not been wiped down in a long time Then went to the loo and found it very grubby behind the WC door hasn't been cleaned in a long time, certainly not this year. The staff all one of them was unpleasant and couldn't really care less - disappointing all round.

No food, but they sent us down to Central bar, which was excellent.

Disgusting pub, we saw a mouse running in front of the bar, when we informed the bar staff we were dismissed and then heard staff talking about myself and my children in a disgusting way. Swearing isn’t what I would expect staff to do in...
