Monkton Elm Garden Centre in Taunton Deane

Friendly staff, wide range of products. Only downside was the decking around the pond near the outdoor cafe was extremely slippery.

Always always love Monkton Elm. Again totally unspoilt as it's not owned by a chain and the most amazing news ever, they now have the best scones, we're so happy! To give you an idea of how special Monkton is it's about 20ish miles each way from where we live but totally worth it.

As ever it was a delight to visit, yes plenty of things you can see at most Garden Centres, but also many unique things. The Coffee, Tea & cake were all nice & the staff are pleasant to deal with

Massive place to visit have everything you need.

Came with a group with 4 minibuses. Very lovely garden centre but really expensive for the Christmas items and in general. Plants were better value. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant. Wonderful friendly staff who worked really hard. The festive roast turkey was very impressive and good price at £15.

Lots of options, lovely displays, decent cafe facilities and they have a loyalty card option.

I found the whole of the goods for sale very overpriced and often not of good quality.

Lovely garden cenre. Privately owned. Plenty if parking. Great cafe. Lots of items to choose from. Pretty Christmad display.

Good selection of plants for the time of year. Very helpful knowledgeable staff. Cafe and restaurant not bad. Would go again.

Has everything you need a little costly but then it's a garden centre

Monkton Elm garden centre used to be good, I think it gone downhill. I don't know if we visited in a change over period. The Christmas display was not very good. I have seen worst, but it has been a lot better in the past.

The cake was pricey at £4.50 but nice but the coffee was rank. A really bad taste. We won't go back

So much choice and very helpful staff

We decided to visit as it has the title of the best garden centre in Wales and the west. Erm, okay. We were decidedly underwhelmed. It was rather narrow in the aisles between displays for people with trolleys, walkers or scooters. The usual over priced garden centre type fair. They do have some amazing garden figures and ornaments, but sadly out of my price range.

Popped in for lunch after an appointment in Taunton. Busy in the cafe as they had started their Festive Menu yesterday. Menu looks good, but we had fish n chips. Bought a few Christmas goodies before heading home

Recently voted as one of the top 25 garden centres in the Uk.Its a nice enough garden centre.Top 25 in the uk? Doubt it.

Lovely garden centre always friendly

Not sure about previous years as I can't remember ever visiting christmas. but what a cracker from the kids and adults alike. The Christmas displays and Christmas village display was well worth the visit this year. The hours they spend building it this year is just fabulous and is so lovely to see for all ages..... Thanks guys....

A very nice garden centre with a wonderful Christmas display and lots of Christmas food Also has a large restaurant area and coffee shop And they also have a very large range of flowers and plants.

Excellent plants & very helpful staff.

I visited the garden centre with my daughter and two children. We went to the restaurant which was very busy. We chose the special pie meal which was steak and ale pie with mash and vegetables. The meal was beautifully presented and was delicious. We didn't have to wait very long. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Good selection of plants and various other items. Cafe could do with clearer information or more obvious information regarding ordering. Very pleasant staff

A truly awful place,cluttered and overpriced,along with the most miserable of staff,I moved to one side to allow a worker to pass with a large trolley,what thanks did I get?ignored! about as happy as a condemned prisoner a return is not on the cards for me

Open airy & light filled space. Busy this visit. Yummy sandwich had.

Treated hubby to lunch. Very enjoyable experience. Food was delicious. Service was prompt and facilities were clean. Very nice trip indeed.

Went in to meet with familyfor lunch, easy to park, plenty of space in restaurant. Plenty of choice, we had very tasty sandwiches. Looked lovely with all the Christmas themed items.

Always a good place to visit. Great selection of plants and pet stuff. The main restaurant is now dog friendly however the cafe by the pond is. The farm shop area is quiet good, and the gift shop area has a great selection of gifts. Always worth a visit at Christmas too

Great plants a bit on the pricey side

It was a lovely morning out with my cousin

The staff are working their socks off but whether there just aren’t enough of them or the place is too big they can’t cope. I went to the coffee shop, one person is taking orders, making coffee, going for ice and crockery. Meanwhile, my niece ordered three sandwiches which took half an hour to arrive. Again, the staff member we spoke to was helpful and polite but it no longer feels like a comfortable place for refreshments.

Our local centre and Salem the Bengal loves to visit. We often visit for my son to attend events that are put on for the kids, find new Xmas decorations and look at the display or try some new food. Absolutely love this place and the awesome staff xx

Restaurant very good. My first visit here . Shopping for Xmas bits was excellent

We waited for over 30 minutes for our food to arrive whilst others that were served after us got their food before us. The manageress was quite indifferent and stated it was because we had ordered 2 meals the same and if I couldn't understand that she couldn't explain it better. When the food arrived it was ok ish but my husbands veg & potato were not very hot. Yes we were given a free coffee, however we would have appreciated meals that were served quicker and were enjoyable. This isnt the first time that we've had an issue with food here and will certainly not be eating here again.

Went for an afternoon tea gathering. Nice atmosphere, great sandwiches but I was a little disappointed with the scones which is the only reason the didn't get 5 stars

Great garden centre, family orientated

Starving, both of us. So we went into their cafe, for 9 squids you get a large jacket spud, generous fillings, dressed salad and nice coleslaw. Really hit the spot. As you walk out of the cafe you go through their food hall, as fine a selection of sweet treats and temptations you can imagine, proper grub for a decent price.

Busy doing Christmas decor it looks lovely. Just had a delightful Eggs Florentine breakfast which was yummy.

Lots of lovely products, maybe a little on the expensive side but could possibly get everything you need. Café very good lots of great cakes & helpful staff.

Popped in for breakfast before driving back from westcountry weekend away. Excellent food and then the shop!!! Definitely stocked up with cake and the best steak mince I have had for ages ... wish we lived closer

I was disappointed that my sandwich had been made with margarine rather than butter otherwise everything else good.

Lovely Garden Centre, wide selection of not only plants, but gifts, fashion. Good restaurant, we went on a Sunday and just managed to eat our amazing Sunday roast and huge Yorkshire Pudding.

Been going here for years, here’s the summary I have: Restaurant: absolutely lush food, always friendly staff, only ever had one issue with a coke being extremely watered down, the staff replaced it within minutes and tasted much better after, I’ve have a whole mix of food here eg: afternoon tea, Mac n Cheese, sandwiches, brownies! All were delicious! Outdoor garden: incredible range of many flowers, trees and plants, lots of variety and availability! Outdoor decorations, plant pots, ceramic pots, hanging baskets, you name it! Indoor garden: many types of patio decorations, furniture, plant pots They have many indoor plants, all at great prices, I’d love to see more mini houseplants! They are always really early to put their seasonal items on sale, and they always have a huge variety! Lots of Halloween items!! They’ve also started putting their Christmas stock out, which is always, ALWAYS!!, the best! They had some staff working on a new Christmas section. Overall, indoors and outdoors, floor to ceiling, the centre is kept incredibly clean, everything is really great priced! I could spend hours in here, there is so much, you will always find what you are looking for! And if you are struggling to find something, the staff always go the extra mile to help you find that! All around positive experience coming here, and the vibes are always spectacular!

Gd place 2 meet up with friends, gd food but small for a lot of money, happy staff, lots 2 buy...helpful staff. Its clean & tidy.

Fantastic selection of plants, especially miniature conifers

Visited here recently and was pleasantly impressed by the garden centre, it felt like it went on and on so much to see! Firstly, the selection of free from food/treats/snacks was fantastic and I ended up leaving with a whole selection of things, all of which have been delicious - I will be returning for this alone. The garden centre is split into different sections, the pet area was very good with plenty of options for your pets, of all kinds. Then the plant selection was very large with a whole array of different things, including statues, fencing, plaques, and all sorts of garden needs in a huge area, so visit the pond as well as it is beautiful. The farm shop is famous and full of some really yummy treats and locally scoured food & drink. A cafe or two is available on site lemon we didn’t eat here, there was so much to see we had to return after our lunch nearby for a second browse. A real treat to visit this lovely garden centre and we can’t wait to return at Christmas time!

Very good garden centre with a cafe and a restaurant. Lots of plants on sale and as with most garden centres they sell ornaments, clothes, food, greetings cards. Also I bought a pair of heavy duty gardening gloves for £9.99. I'd had difficulty finding them elsewhere so was very pleased.

Lovely mussels and ciabatta with gaming and cheese. Not impressed by hot chocolate

Sunday lunch, quite nice, ran out of colliflower cheese, and horse reddish sauce , unexcepable.

Good place to eat. Plants in good condition and variety of other goods, useful presents.

I have recently added a wildlife pond to our garden, and I got some excellent advice from the Pond area. Also some really good reductions on ceramic pots!!

A large centre, plenty of choice that includes clothes and pet accessories, as well as plants.

Large garden centre with plenty of parking. There is a wide variety of plants and shrubs as well as a cafe/restaurant, coffee shop, pet shop, craft shop, clothing, gifts and more. Great food in the restaurant, good choices, friendly staff. Quality toilets with plenty of cubicles in the ladies.

The children loved the Teddy Bear’s Picnic today at Monkton Elm. They enjoyed making and naming their own bears and are all cuddled up to them in bed now! The mums loved the scones! Special thanks to Lisa and Warren for managing to make space for us and add us to a friends booking!

So much bigger than you think. This garden centre has everything you need for your garden and more. A great food hall café on site as well.

Best Garden Center around, I’ve been to a fair few garden centres but monkton elm always stands out for me. The food is always lovely, great houseplants and a good mixture of them, there’s so many jellycats there also. It’s a great garden centre all round I’ve been going since 2016 and I will always enjoy going there. 🫶🏼

A very good selection of gardening products and helpful staff

First time to this garden centre and was very impressed. Excellent range of plants and products, an exceptionally spacious restaurant serving a good choice of meals and snacks, and also a pond side cafe within the grounds the pond has both waterfowl and carp. You could spend half a day here, including a lunch, and not be disappointed

When you have one on your doorstep like Monkton Elm with it's Elm Tree restaurant, great food and lovely staff, it's a no-brainer! We have just celebrated our Golden Wedding anniversary here and, with family & friends scattered around the four corners of the planet, Lisa and her team made us feel special and very welcome. The food was amazing and the service second to none. Thank you so much.

Website easy to navigate. Excellent communication. Fast dispatch and delivery. Delivery person was really helpful. Items were as expected and good quality.

Went for breakfast. The food was good, but not very hot. However the plants I bought were beautiful.

Lovely garden centre. Great selection of plants and gifts. Good restaurant with nice selection of food. Really delicious cakes, chocolate brownie and coffee muffin were very good. Great to be able to get a chai latte here. Visited again and had a tasty lunch. Very generous servings and helpful staff. Panko chicken and salad was very tasty.

Was not impressed with this garden centre, not much choice on the menu in the restaurant

Used Monton Elm for years . Although fantastic venue and usually lovely food I had a bad experience with the beer battered cod which was very overcooked, a small amount of chips and a low quality tub of peas . Such a shame this visit and probably just a glitch in the kitchen . No I didn't complain and just making a point to give feedback on what is usually great food.

Absolutely lovely place come up from Plymouth and stopped off there for lunch and a look around was lovely plants all heathy every thing was displayed beautiful nothing to much trouble staff very friendly and polite will definitely be back

I know nothing about gardening but this place so peaceful! Staff were lovely too. Went again today and still top notch!

Coffe shop was closed for staff training! Took a while to get drinks , but it was lunch time and busy serving lunches.
