Morecambe Toby Carvery in Lancaster

Never again! I stopped going to this restaurant because the food was poor. I decided to give it another go as one of my friends wanted to go. I ordered 2x goats cheese and caramelized onion tarts. We waited for about half an hour and when my meal came, there was only one on my plate plus, it could only be described as cremated! I told the waitress that I had ordered 2 and could the second one be less cooked. I was so hungry, I ate the middle of the tart. With hindsight What I should have done is, send it back. The second one came half an hour later and it was slightly less cooked than the first. My friend had already finished her meal so I wrapped the tart up and took it home to have later. It was so overcooked, I just threw it in the bin. Complete waste of money. I know this place is cheap but when the food is inedible, the cost doesn't come into it.

Website offers time slots for lunch at 11.30am. Needed early lunch before train journey. Booked 11.30 and on arrival told no service until 12 noon.!!!

Visited here with my brother after a walk along morecombe seafront as we are from Liverpool we hadn’t visited this Toby before we were nicely greeted and seated carvery was very nice and would return if we were in the area again

We recently visited Toby Carvery for my partner's 34th birthday with our kids, and it was a memorable experience in the best way possible! From the moment we entered, we were greeted by our server, Jacks, who was incredibly friendly, funny, and amazing with our kids. My eldest even declared that Jacks is his "best friend;" they both made each other happy. Just as we were settling in and ordering our drinks, my youngest, who had a bit of a cough, suddenly vomited all over me. I was completely covered, but Jacks handled the situation like a pro. They made light of it and helped us out without even a hint of embarrassment. Thankfully, it was a late reservation, so there weren't many people around to witness the horror show lol Despite the initial hiccup, Jacks ensured the rest of our evening went smoothly. Their positive attitude and great sense of humour turned what could have been a disastrous evening into a memorable and enjoyable one. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm, and we left with full bellies and big smiles. Thank you, Jacks, and the Toby Carvery team for making my partner's birthday a special one. We will definitely be back!

Not a pleasant dining experience. The vegetables were lukewarm, the chicken nuggets were incredible. No variation in the children’s menu, eg you could only have beans with the nuggets not with the sausage. Beans being a children’s favorite I find this a bit odd. Also we had to remind the staff that the children hadn’t been served their meal.

Food was great, just what we needed after a busy day. We were very well looked after by Jacks. Nothing was too much trouble for her and it makes such a difference being served by someone who loves their job! Thank you.

First time we've tried a Toby Carvery having phoned earlier in the day to discuss coeliac/gluten free options. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and were quite reassuring about everything concerning Gluten Free items. The food was all excellent and exceptionally reasonable regarding price. Our waitress, Annalise (spelling ?), complimented the whole experience. Even the man serving the meat was very helpful regarding the GF content of everything on offer. Highly recommended and you will struggle to find anywhere comparable for value for money !

Came here for dinner with family and was greeted by Jack's happy face and energetic personality. Nothing was a bother and super helpful in taking our order and anything we needed. When dealing with the public the world defo needs more people like Jack's in it. Thank you for all your help. If we stayed closer we would definitely return after the great service.

A group of 5 including a child, and we were looked after from the moment we walked in the door. Jacks couldn’t do enough for us. Even remembering my friends little girls name. She really is such an asset to the company.

I came down to morecambe from Carlisle today. And the minute I walked in I was greeted in a nice manner. I sat in the bar area waiting on my son to come in. Once had he had come in we ordered with leanne and from that moment on the service from Leanne was brilliant. We waited for our food to come out the kitchen was no longer than 8 mins we waited. Leanne was brilliant with my son, interacting with him by talking to him and asking him questions. Which he enjoys. Leanne went above and beyond for us by noticing that my son had spilled salt and I mean mountain full of salt on his chicken nuggets that had barely been touched. She asked me if she could plate him another chicken nuggets but unfortunately I knew he wouldn’t have eaten it anyway. So instead she brung out a child’s ice cream for him. Which I thought was very generous. All round the service was incredible. Well done Leanne.

The best service I have received at a Toby carvery and I’ve been to many! Louise and Kate, who welcomed us in and served us were just absolutely fantastic, real service with a smile and both go above and beyond to make you feel happy and comfortable, just an absolute pleasure, the pair of them, it’s almost unusual to receive such, happy, polite service in this day and age but these guys really just go above and beyond! The man of the hour at Toby Morecambe is without a doubt, Jay, at the carvery counter! What an absolutely great bloke, really happy and go lucky, optimistic and just a pleasure to deal with, he made us laugh and his treatment of customers is second to none, I would say within any service industry! Just a fantastic fella! The service at Tony Morecambe was surprising in the best possible way. We’re a few miles away from Morecambe and actually have closer venues but we will be travelling the extra few miles for the brilliant service we received. Toby should be very proud of their guys in the Morecambe branch! Your guys just made 4 new customers for life. 11/10! - If you’re reading this, thank you Jay, Louise and Kate! Never change please!

As before the food was excellent and service the same by everyone especially Leanne who served up twice this week. Very pleasant afternoons .

Had our family easter sunday dinner here and it was all lovely! The staff were great, and Jacks our server went above and beyond for us!

AVOID- Overcharged and very disappointed We used the groupon deal £29.99 for two adults and two children. We were charged £1.50 per person extra due to it being a bank holiday - without being informed first. We showed our code and deal to two members of staff before sitting down. No one informed us that there would be an extra charge. Front of house staff do not understand the prices. We had to query the bill - they had to ask their manager twice. Who then explained that the extra charge was due to it being a back holiday and the extra charge being perfectly permissible in their terms and conditions. If the terms and conditions are applicable - why do none of the front of staff team know about them? If they can’t see them, the customers can’t. There’s also no price listed for their bottomless soft drinks - again no transparency. Why don’t you want to be clear on the prices? If we never they’d lump an extra charge on top. We wouldn’t have booked. In any case we certainly shall not be visiting again. Avoid and go to the Farmhouse Inns. It tastes better and you won’t be ripped off when the mystery bill arrives.

Came to our local Toby for a classic carvery as we have done many a times before. Usually hungover on a weekend day time lol. However, today we had the pleasure of being served by Jacks who made the experience me and my partner had a truly stand out and more memorable one than the rest. The guy who seated us (Mel) and the guy cutting the meat, made me feel slightly uncomfortable. The guy cutting the meat was also rude to my friend for no reason!
