Very disappointing at this cafe took ages for someone to come to counter so my wife could order my full English breakfast took ages. It finally came out was stone cold The staff where miserable and the booth we were in there was cake all over the floor If I could score less I most certainly would.

Have always had top class service, lovely meals and beautiful atmosphere. Staff can be stretched at times but it is a lovely place to visit for a meal 😊

We had our two meals delivered to our table by a member of staff who was holding a blue wet cloth in the same hand as one of our plates. The same cloth was being used to wipe down dirty tables. This has happened to us before, so it appears to be standard practice. We won't be going back.

Went to cafe last week tuesday and had a all day brunch. When I went to order they said that they didnt have mushroom so we could have extra bacon which we did. When it came the bacon was very greasy and very hard that I couldn't even cut it (looked like it had been deep fryed. The egg yolk was hard. The beans where freezing cold and it was also missing the tomatoes. We decided to give it a second chance the next day as our grandkids wanted to go. After ordering our meal 20 minutes later one of the canteen staff told us there was no kids pizza left, which made my 6 year old grandson upset as that was the only they he wanted. We persuaded him eventually to get chicken nuggets. Myself, husband and grandaughter got our meal then 10 minutes before our grandson got his. Showly they could of got a pizza from the store which was just 30 yards away and saved all the upsetment. Never again

Went to visit the cafe before we did our shopping - my mum asked staff member at the till where you get a coffee and tea, the ladies response was “it’s over there” when she quickly pointed with her arm, rude and couldn’t care less. I asked for my fat to be cut off the bacon as I am visually impaired and can’t see the fat, she said “Right, you don’t like fat on, we can’t cut fat off so you have to have it well done”. We sat down, the other lady came to the table and said she couldn’t find us as we didn’t have our number showing - which was fare enough but it was the way she said it. Bacon was fatty and not well done, breakfast was ok, but wouldn’t go back. Friend egg rock hard and food just about hot.

Decent breakfast at a decent price. My coeliac wife had to pick out options to enable a Gluten Free breakfast. It just surprises me that a shop that has a good range of Free From and Gluten Free foods can't supply a Gluten Free meal in its cafe!

Just called for drinks while filling in some time in Consett. Again was not impressed in any way with the cafe. The time limit on the car parking is a real pain too

We're used to waiting a short while at busy times and being advised if it was going to be over 20 minutes or so, but here the cafe didn't seem to be more than half full and we were not told of any delay yet it took 35 minutes to get 2 small breakfasts. The food wasn't hot and the bacon fatty and undercooked.People were complaining that advertised fish and chips, lasagne and other food wasn't available too.Very unsatisfactory and probably the worst Morrison's cafe experience yet.

I only sit in for convenience. The quality of the food is poor; apart from being cook – they are just lifeless gruel. And they are stingy; I ordered a large plate of chips – and I got a small portion given. The staff look bored and unhappy – serving old people all day – it has the feel of a Care-home feeding slop to its residents. Sorry Morrison’s Consett – you got to do better!

hard to believe when there is an instore bakery that the choice of snacks is so limited. Quite often the pastries definitely feel and taste a day old- rock hard.... and the damn super loud tannoy with staff announcements !! if you are looking for a peaceful cuppa or a chat with friends with fresh cakes and pastries - you might want to choose elsewhere. shame as it surely could be improved quite easily. haven't tried any meals so cannot comment on those. staff are friendly tho.

I use Morrisons cafe in Consett when I'm travelling from Cumbria to County Durham due to it being convenient from the main road with plenty of parking and mostly because it's cheap. No one can complain at an omelette and chips for £ 4.50, or an Indian meal for £ 5 with nan bread. Yes I know a lot of the food is microwaved and not the most memorable you can eat, but on value and special offers alone( kids meals are often free on certain days of the week) Morrisons are good.

We called for afternoon tea and coffee on a cold day. The staff were pleasant but not overly helpful, even though we clearly werent familiar with the system. The tea was OK but the coffee wasnt a full mug, and could have been hotter.

Just a supermarket cafe but the menu offers a good range of choices and the food is nicely cooked and outstanding value for money. Even better value if you go after 3pm because you then get a free hot drink with every meal over £4.50. The menu also lists the calorific content of each dish: scary!

Value for money we went with the childen after school, love the fact that adults buy a meal for £5 and get a children's meal free. You can't get that anywhere else. Food is good for what you pay , staff has always been great when we have been in. We will be back

Decided to try, before shopping, it used to be famous for fish and chips, but we were very disappointed, cold food, seemed unfresh, as if processed somehow, fish grey chips soggy. All in all not a good experience and will not be repeating.

Morrisons generally has the best cafes of the supermarkets and Consett lives up to that reputation. Pretty cheap food but always tastes great & cafe itself is clean and comfortable.

We shop at Morrisons regularly on a Saturday so pop in for something to eat regularly afterwards. Over time we've had several things and absolutely love it. My wife loves the yogurt, fruit and granola in a big glass. I go for the breakfast (served until 3pm) or one of the breakfast buns. You can add what you want to them and bacon, egg and mushroom is a favourite.

Ordered BBQ chicken loaded fries and was served frozen chips not fries with frozen strips of chicken covered with cheese and a squirt of BBQ sauce. Husband had pie of the day, said the pie was nice but the gravy was lumpy and too thick won’t be going back there again

Visited first time after lock down (I believe it’s opened under new management) on a Saturday afternoon. Booked a table for food and glad we did as it was very busy. The service was slow but this was mentioned on our arrival as they were under staffed and didn’t predict how busy it would be. However, the atmosphere was fab (lively, sport on the TV and a range of music was been played) and at the time we hardly noticed the wait between drinks and food! We ordered three different meals (Yorkshire Pudding, Cheeseburger and chicken and cheese baguette) portions were huge (for £6.95 each) and delicious. Lager and cider were reasonably prices too. Hopefully the place gets a well needed refurb under new management as it is the only negative - but I appreciate the pub has just recently reopened and Rome wasn’t built in a day! We’ll definitely be back.
