Mr MacGregor’s in East Renfrewshire

La primera vez que visito aquí después de buscar un lugar que hizo un asado pasadas las 5 pm. Visité el 27 de octubre con mis dos hijos pequeños, mi esposo y mi padre. Estaba corriendo un poco más tarde y llamó por teléfono para informarles y eran muy serviciales y se movieron ligeramente más tarde. Las opciones para el menú del mercado eran excelentes Me sentí y el menú fue explicado a fondo y el camarero (lo siento no me dieron su nombre) era tan servicial y tenía una gran charla con mis dos chicas. El tamaño de las porciones era increíble y la comida era de calidad increíble. Mis hijos tenían el menú de niños y uno tenía un cursor de tres con una gran elección para ellos. Las bebidas eran fabulosas también. Todo el personal era súper amable e incluso los chefs estaban involucrados en la charla con mis dos chicas, que realmente disfrutaron ser parte de ella. No puedo esperar para volver y experimentar el nuevo menú que viene. El personal y la comida son un crédito absoluto a este restaurante.

Tuvimos un almuerzo tardío aquí, un ambiente acogedor, un entorno encantador, el personal es un servicio brillante con una sonrisa, la comida no tomó demasiado tiempo .. pescado y patatas fritas y un ravioli de hongos vegetarianos, parecía y sabía encantador .. se quita el sombrero a todo el personal en Mr Mac Gregor's .. gracias que seguro volveremos 👌🏼

Abrumador en comparación con nuestra primera visita. La calidad y la cantidad de la comida ha bajado drásticamente. £ 9 para un Benedict Huevos con pudín negro fino de oblea. La holandesa dividida acuosa apenas cubre mis huevos y simplemente no hay suficiente para el pan. En general los platos son escabrosos en comparación con lo que una vez fue (solo mirar hacia atrás a las otras fotos subidas por los otros usuarios). Esta opinión exacta fue publicada en un sitio de revisión separado, pero de alguna manera fue eliminada por el propietario. Eso dice mucho sobre cómo hacen negocios estos tipos.

Fantástico té de la tarde aquí. El servicio era impecable y súper amable. Comida muy sabrosa, la mejor sopa de setas y estragón que he probado. ¡Volveré!

Primera vez que visito y vine recomendado. Conocí amigos para el almuerzo. 3 cafés y fuera de orden tomado. No estaba muy ocupado y cuando nos dimos cuenta de otra mesa que había pedido después de nosotros pedimos una actualización de nuestra comida y otra ronda de bebidas. Llegaron las bebidas y no se dio ninguna explicación sobre la comida. Cuando se le preguntó de nuevo se sintió decepcionado al recibir una respuesta abrupta de que la comida sería la próxima en salir. Esperé 10 minutos más para comer. La comida era deliciosa, pero el servicio al cliente lamentablemente falta. No recomendaría. Un simple acuse de recibo habría avanzado mucho. Tuvimos que pedir la factura más de una vez. No se da propina por las deficiencias en el servicio al cliente.

OOFT. Simply cant be a bettet brunch not just in glasgow but the planet. And the service was out of this world. Decor was fab as well.

Back for dinner with the same thoughts as our last visit here, last year. There was one very busy waiter but only three tables occupied which meant a lack of atmosphere. Food was very good as we’ve always found on previous visits

This is definitely the worst restaurant in terms of providing for vegetarians. There were NO vegy mains choices on the 'a la carte' and only one separate item which was pasta (boring!). Amy, our waitress was really helpful and i was able to order from the earlier breakfast menu - not ideal but the alternative on offer was to ask the chef to make me 'anything I wanted'. I mean really ?? I haven't heard that suggestion since about 1989. The manager Chris came over at the end of lunch and, rather than apologise, he was very defensive (almost argumentative) when I suggested more choice for vegetarians, talking a load of rubbish about proteins etc?? Mansplaining ?? He was the most pompous and irritating person and needs to go back to hospitality school pronto. I will never be back and neither will my southside friends, relatives and aquaintances. I would urge Chris to reflect on his attitude and the owners/chef to seriously consider their vegetarian offerings in future menus (its not rocket science).

Had a lovely afternoon tea here today for my mums birthday. The staff couldn’t have been nicer - so friendly and our waiter was so entertaining. Food was fantastic - really nice to get a small cup of soup to start. Fresh, soft scones. And so much we ended up taking what we didn’t use home. It was nice to have speciality coffees - iced flavoured lattes included. Would recommend !

Myself and my family were greeted with a smile as we walked into Mr MacGregors for the first time by a very attentive waiter. He couldn’t do enough to make our experience a very happy one. The bar man was also very gracious. These two guys are an asset to the company. All our meals were delicious also. We will definitely be back.

We went last Thursday for afternoon tea. The sandwiches were made using thick white bread. The cakes were inedible- there were three of us and we didn’t eat 5 cakes as they were too dry. When the waitress was clearing away and we said the cakes weren’t nice she offered us more but what was the point as we had finished. We were given 1 cup of coffee and tea and were charged for a 2nd cup of coffee. Together we were charged £16.99 plus the extra teas and coffee. How difficult is it to have edible cakes and some delicate sandwiches!!

Our first visit to Mr MacGregors to try their afternoon tea. We both enjoyed it-sandwiches, toasted wraps, mini cakes and huge scones were all fresh, well prepared and tasty. I think it was the manageress who served us-very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was empty when we arrived at noon on Wednesday 21st March but soon started to get busier. In addition to market and a la carte menus there is a great brunch menu available until 4pm on weekdays. We couldn’t help but notice the chorizo and black pudding hash dish when it arrived at the next table-looked and smelled delicious! Would definitely return to try more of the dishes available…..especially that brunch dish! 😂👍

We came here for brunch after hearing it was now dog friendly. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We are always looking for places to stop by in the southside after our walk. It's especially handy as it's right next to Linn Park. I know not everyone is a dog lover but they had a separate seating area for us so it was super quiet and nobody noticed our dog. We will definitely return and be sure to be tell our other friends who also have dogs.

We have often frequented Mr MacGregors due to the good food and lively atmosphere. However when we went there for afternoon tea, our opinions changed. The sandwiches were ‘ok’. Scones looked lovely but when we started to eat them we both felt they had a funny taste. It turns out that the cream had turned. When we told our waitress (who was very apologetic), she presented us with four butters as a replacement! We then asked to speak to the manager in charge and she came over. We found her to be quite confrontational and there was no apology. As a ‘gesture of good will’, she offered us ONE cup of tea. Very poor service which we found totally unacceptable. The manager ended up giving us a voucher, which is useless as we will not be back.

We choose from the Market Menu which consisted of 2 courses. It had the same choices as the a la carte menu. We ordered a bottle of white wine. When this was brought to the table we noticed that the bottle had already been opened and wine had been poured from the bottle. We brought this to the attention of the waitress who agreed and apologised. On bringing the replacement we were advised they did not have another cold bottle of the same wine.. We therefore had to order a different wine. We felt the choice of mains was limited in comparison to restaurants of similar size. The steak main course was very average owing to the meat requiring a considerable amount of chewing. The dessert was good. The staff were certainly pleasant. However all in all we would not recommend or return.

Christmas get together over afternoon tea. The afternoon tea was appalling. Stale, bread sandwiches, massive dense scones, look-warm drinks and the 3 types of cake included one of which, was a chunk of rubbery, clootie dumpling! The other two, I can’t even remember now! The appearance of the whole cake stand was dull, bland, unappealing. It seemed like we were getting leftovers. There were leaks in the roof of the restaurant and despite plenty of room in the body of the restaurant, (it was quiet), they used the leaking conservatory and you had to watch out not to trip over buckets. Given the excitement and expectation of the afternoon, and the company that I was with, it was not appropriate to complain at the time. It was afterwards that we realised everyone was thinking the same. It’s been a long time since I’ve had such poor quality food. I must say however, that the young girl in attendance was so pleasant and polite and the only one that seemed clued up.

Rudest service (on both visits) and overpriced mediocre food - do yourself a favour and go somewhere that deserves your time and money

Popped in here for lunch and was warmly greeted and seated promptly. I had soup and a sandwich. The soup was piping and the sandwich had been warmed (toasted). Excellent standard of food, nice ambience and attentive service. I will be back.

Have been here a few times. I brought my parents this time and it was fantastic. The staff are really attentive and the barman was a cocktail expert. The food is wonderful and fresh tasting. They have a wide variety to cater to all and I have ordered a number of the dishes now. Will be back regularly.

My two sisters and I took our mum here for dinner, it was her 86th birthday... Food was delicious and Carol looked after us very well, nothing was a bother. Lovely ambiance and lighting and music not too loud as mum has difficulty hearing. All in all, a very nice experience.

I had the Sunday roast which was probably the best Sunday roast I've had in Glasgow however the portion was quite small for the price, there was two tiny strips of beef and a small amount of potatoes n veg. I ended up having a second dinner a couple of hour later. the service was great and food was delicious so i would go again and try something else

Myself and a friend visited for afternoon tea a few weeks ago and we were left quite disappointed. We were greeted and sat down right away. My friend is a vegetarian and we had mentioned this on the booking, but mentioned it again when we arrived and were told this wasn’t noted - so glad we mentioned it. We then waited for nearly 45 minutes for our afternoon tea, we flagged down the waitress and were told they would check on it. I seemed they had forgotten about us as about 5 minutes later the food arrived. The waitress advised they had made the full afternoon tea vegetarian to cater to my friend - however I’m not a vegetarian so this was a bit strange. The whole experience was a bit of a let down both on service and on the food.

Shocking service! Can’t actually comment on the food cause the service was so bad we didn’t manage to order any! We did order drinks and they didn’t materialise! When I said to the manager we we’re just going to leave his response was ‘okay’! The waitress did mouth ‘I’m sorry’ as we walked out the door! Enough said! Won’t be back, which is a pity cause it’s a local restaurant and we’ve had good service previously.

This is our second time at Mr MacGregors. We were here for Brunch and it did not disappoint! We were completely looked after by a lovely waitress named Carol who made sure we had whatever we wanted. We were then spoiled for choice on what to have from the menu, so many options (I could have ate them all)! We got 2 of the Vegetarian Breakfasts and the Scrambled eggs on sourdough with some loaded hash browns for good measure and safe to say we all left with big smiles and full bellies. Could not fault any of the food (had to complement the chefs while there), amazing quality/ presentation as well as good hearty portions. With it being so good twice in a row now we will definitely be back again and again.

Absolutely outstanding service and quality of food. We were celebrating hubbies 50th birthday and the staff could not have been more attentive. Would recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
