Mr Wu in City of London, Westminster

I am writing to provide feedback on my recent visit to your buffet . While I was pleased with the price and had no complaints about the food, I was disappointed with the service provided by one of your staff members. The gentleman assisting customers was quite rude in his manner. When I asked for clarification about an item, he curtly replied, "look at the picture." Even though there was a picture, it did not clearly indicate whether the item was chicken. This interaction left me feeling uncomfortable and hesitant to ask for further assistance. Unfortunately, this experience deterred me from dining at your restaurant again. When I saw the same staff member inside the restaurant yesterday, I decided not to go in.

Great value for money, you got to remember it's not a posh restaurant just a place to have a nice easy lunch

The price was good for what you are getting.. I checked many reviews and it's not as bad as they say, everyone were kind and polite and they have clear instructions to me when it was my 1st time here. I will reccomend others to come here but the place is NOT HALAL. I also want to say that it is not wheelchair accessible but if you sit outside it's okay.

Perfect 'street food ' take away experience, but not restaurant. Great value and quality for the price. We shall return when in London, in summer, and have recommended to others 😀

To start of with it took me 50 mins to walk to this buffet. I was happy about the prices (£9.95 per person) but little did I know what I was in for. We were seated in the corner at the back of the restaurant. It was very cramped. We hadn’t even sat down yet and the worker said “pay now” when we hadn’t even got comfortable yet. You have to pay in cash which I personally think is quite dodgy. Once we paid the staff didn’t really bother with us at all. We want to go get our food and plates. Once we filled our plates we sat and began eating the “sweet and sour chicken “ was awful I’m not sure what meat it was I’m pretty sure it was not chicken . As I turned I saw a male worker behind the sink and drink station and I see a dirty large tub with brown liquid sprayed all over it which looked very unhygienic. We also saw how the meat was handled and how everything was washed . We were instantly put off. We stopped eating instantly. This place needs a proper restaurant check as it is not clean and the food is not handled properly. Many people say they are ill after visiting. Overall don’t go.

A disgusting place, we paid in advance (you can't pay by card, they charge you before you sit down) and we barely ate anything. The worst place I have ever eaten in my life. Dirty, shabby and unpleasant employees. The buffet food (so to speak) was disgusting, tasteless, you don't know what it is: Chicken? Tofu? Veal? The rice was super stale and tasteless and the salad was boiled, I had never tried hot lettuce. I wouldn't recommend it even to my worst enemy.

Local with 2 floors but very small. Little variety of dishes but all delicious. They only accept cash payment. You won't find anything cheaper for 8 euros for the buffet, eat whatever you want.

The place is nice, very cheap with various options. It would be better if thay had some desserts, but all in all it was great. Deal for the preice is amaizing and take away boxies are nice size.

The place is pretty basic. The vibe is simple, no frills, just a good spot for a quick meal. The food was nothing special—just your standard Chinese dishes, but it was decent for the price. Nothing fancy, but if you’re looking for something easy and affordable, it’ll do the trick!

been here multiple times the food is good and also very affordable, owners keep it efficient and take cash only which is a bonus, ignore any bad reviews they're coping

A great place to have extremely good food prepared in a homemade way. The place is very simple, staff not particularly friendly but polite. Food is offered in a canteen style way, meat plates excellent, same for vegetarian dishes. In total about 15 different trays offering different food. It is very difficult to eat good vegetables when eating out, here vegetables were excellent. All ingredients were high quality. We ate inside at the cost of 10 pounds for an all you can eat, drinks excluded. Cash only. I am Italian and my standard is usually high. Will come back any time I will be in London.

For 5 GBP to fill the box to take away, for 9.95 GBP all you can eat - simple premises, but it tastes good 👍

As good as your getting for a tenner, seen them bringing fresh food out quite a few times and it’s busy so it’s always getting replaced

Food very basic but ok, however the way the staff spoke to its customers was really rude. Not sure if it was cultural but the man upstairs order people where to sit & even asked if they could afford the food. 🙄

I've been going here for many years and buy their £5 takeaway box. Food is both tasty and healthy as they have a good amount of vegetables included. Other nearby similar restaurants have £8 for their takeaway boxes with less healthy choices. So I would recommend this cheaper and healthier place.

Terrible, violently vomiting hours after eating and food was mediocre. Additionally staff were very rude and do not care about you , just taking your money and getting you out the restaurant. Lots of the food was cold and were charging money for tap water. Do not come here unless you want to get sick.

Terrible service from the store manager. Instead of being willing to serve, it makes the customer feel as if they were doing a favor by being there since the restaurant exists because of the customers! The customer has the right to say where they feel best in an establishment, but he wanted to put me in a hidden place. When I said that I was uncomfortable and preferred to sit near the buffet, this same manager also said that he didn't feel like it and that I should sit where he said. That day I was so hungry and I just wanted somewhere where I felt good and would pay for the service. I told him that I didn't like the service and he shouted for the whole restaurant to hear that “we don't like you either”. I left the place, went to Jolibee for lunch and received great service! I hope it doesn't happen again and that this gentleman is aware that foreigners may also stop recommending or frequenting this establishment! You should also be aware that there are many tourists and that the image of China Town could be tarnished due to the poor service provided at Mr Wu.

Worst staff with worst food , please save your money and don’t go there and spend it somewhere else. Worst staff they don't even know how to speak to their customers.

Had a £5 takeaway box , and cannot fault the quality and value of the food. Don't be expecting a luxury restaurant but for what it is it's great place for a quick meal. How can you complain when it's so cheap?

We took takeaway (5 euros per tray). The food is good. Very warm but small place. However, only in cash.

I do not think this buffet was worth it and worth the money because it was to cramped ,bad service, the drinks tasted like soap and the cups were really dirty .Don’t recommend it 👎🏽 You also had to pay first, limited food the same selections You can find much better buffets

Worst restaurant ever. Don’t even bother. Went there for buffet and food was tasteless. Workers are more police like then welcoming to customers. They have zero relationships building skills. It’s like give me the money and bye bye. The workers there work like police and security guard then providing restaurant service. Wrong attitude bad food.

You go here for a quick feed. the pork and beef and chicken dishes are great, it is always very busy so food is always fresh and hit. Can't go wrong. A unique place.

Mr Wu's is an all you can eat buffet. Cash up front only. Fast turnover of typical buffet food. I love this place.

Food was terrible. Dim sum stuck in steamer and fell apart. Greasy and felt ill afterwards. Sorry but never again. And they try to get you to give a tip even though 12% service charge is automatically included.

If you are French and have a minimum palate, don't go there. We say it's cheap, we don't care, but I swear, shrimp chips without shrimp are disgusting?? Only in cash ok, but welcomed like dogs, even if it means eating, at least take away, it's cheaper, or go to another restaurant. We were forced to eat in 15 minutes, kicked out, and then it wasn't even cooked. In real fun if you want salmonella :) experience 1/10

We were going to go for the offer of filling your tupperware low cost but they only accept cash, they do not accept cards. It's cool but they didn't put it anywhere described here, we were going there specifically and we saw it when we arrived. We looked at what they had and it wasn't much. To get out of trouble I guess it's cool in the end we went somewhere else

You get what you pay for. It is the cheapest buffet around 9.95 for a all you can eat or 5 for a box. The selection is very limited, not even chicken fried rice on choice. The standards are pretty low. No dogs allowed in but few tables outside to use. Food poor tasting. Good option if you need cheap fill up otherwise probably better to skip.

Paid £10 for an all you can eat dine in. I went downstairs into a very cramped room and whilst waiting in line had to be mindful or not getting in the way of the workers or people eating their meals. The food selection wasn’t great, nor was the quality. Both myself and the person I was with couldn’t finish our first plates before leaving the restaurant.

Definitely an unforgettable experience, it's been a year since I went there and I've never forgotten it, whenever someone talks about bad restaurants I mention Mr Wu, terrible food, terrible service, unhealthy place, I don't recommend it

Here you can get a warm, generous and tasty meal for just £5 if you take the take-away box. You pay in cash and can eat the box at the tables in front of the restaurant that are covered in the rain. A rarity in London. There are also plenty of vegan dishes at the buffet.

Very much what you see is what you get. The food was alright, nothing special but it was fresh and had nice flavours. It’s an ok choice if you just want some decent food. Cans of fizzy drink are £2. You can eat inside for £9 ish or have a takeaway tub and eat outside for £5 (they give a wooden fork). No atmosphere inside but staff were nice.

Low quality and less options, the food is bad, there are hairs found from those buffet food. Kitchen and dishes are dirty. No tap water, and staff shouted customers if they could not speak English well. Cash only. If you didn't have cash, no food. After COVID, people are used to pay by contactless. There must be a purpose for cash only.

had the salt pepper chicken wings and there was still blood in them eveyrhing had no taste and was like warm

We have been frequenting Mr Wu for the past 20 plus years when we visit London from Dorset. We have never been disappointed at the quality, service and price of the food. It is a canteen style environment and shouldn't be mistaken for a restaurant but this is the charm of eating here. Dont be surprised if you are sat on a table with people you dont know but this again is all in the experience of eating here. We are visiting again in January 25 from Spain where we now live. You wont be disappointed if you take it for what it is. Yum yum.

I felt like I was in a Travis scott concert. So many people, to be fair it was very cheap. But I didn't get to see the famous Mr wu. I think one of the girls likes me asw so bonus points.

The Staff are Rude and the food tastes inedible will never come back. I advise anyone visiting London to not visit this place your better off going to a mcdonalds

Great as a takeaway. You can choose whatever you want and fit it into the given box. Good for tasting different dishes. Don´t expect fancy food, but you will get common Chinese meals for a great price.

Everyone will find something for himself. Everything was delicious. I recommend trying the wings and vegan spring rolls because they were exceptional.

Don’t come here with high expectations. If you embrace it for what it is - a convenient, cheap option for when you need a quick fill, then it does the trick. Again, not high-quality food, but you won’t find anything cheaper. Buffet service also felt a bit forceful and strict, which didn’t create relaxing environment at all. Was glad to get out with my takeaway container and free myself from this little tavern of stress. Buuuut it was cheap at least!

We've never walked out of a restaurant before finishing a plate before, but we could not continue eating here. The selection was very small, everything was overcooked and greasy, the chicken wings had literal hairs coming out of the batter

Food was bland with no taste, such as the stir fried noodles, rice and bean sprouts tasted like they were boiled in water and that's it. Meat quality isn't the best, I found more than one very dry chicken that was brown and extremely dry, inedible, in my sweet and sour chicken. Salt and pepper chicken wings also isn't prepped properly, still had hairs all over it (meaning it wasn't cleaned properly) and the meat is just strange and chewy. It's pretty basic, didn't really enjoy it and only got one plate. Mr Wu's used to be really good for its price, but I guess they can't afford to maintain quality anymore. Edit: Me and my partner who both ate in yesterday have gotten upset stomachs and bad stomach aches.

The cheap price of £9.95, meal in restaurant, attracted us to this restaurant. But the reception was very rude and loud because we had just looked, and the shop seemed unclean. Not with us! We then found a very good, above all clean "all you could eat" with a lot more choice for £15 across the street. We were given a very friendly welcome! The low price isn't everything. Definitely not recommended!!!

My family and I ended up eating at this Chinese buffet as it started to rain and we were hungry. We were put on the table and we started to pick our food. About 10 minutes later, we asked for water from a waiter. Upon asking, he asked us to pay before he brought the water. We ended up paying £60 as it’s £15 per person. He didn’t left our table until we paid. Never been in a buffet that we had to prepay WHILE WE WERE EATING!! But ok…food was alright, not as much varieties as expected. Their fruits were delish especially the orange and pineapple. I would go again if the waiter was not that arrogant and demanded us to prepay.

Well the Food was good but the portion size was very very less also the store owner was a bit rude tbh ! And a lot of people are there at a time within such a small place so u may have to wait for more than 20mins to get a table and u also have to be in hurry to finish off your meal cause others are waiting in the queue . Located in Chinatown, London, the restaurant serves Chinese food. We had a good meal here in Mr. Wu's all-you-can-eat buffet. They have rice and noodles. There was a wide selection of dishes to choose from. There was chicken curry, steamed prawns, roast duck, vegetables, roast pork, etc. The roast duck was certainly very delicious. They had steaming hot soup which was a delight to Asians. To cater for Westerners, they have fries, paella and a few other things. The food is quite good. Price-wise, it is cheap.

I went to this restaurant with my family we pay for 2 adults and one children I also have a 7 months old baby my wife gave to my little one a bit of broccoli and the manager came to tell us that we have to pay 3 pounds for the small pice of broccoli . This people are really miserable never camin back to this place

Haven't been here for 19yrs..had good memory of it last time so we would give it a go with the kids. Cramped and people literally pushing against table trying to get their food.. When we finally got to get ours the majority of it was warm or cold.. Some heating need for the big trays.. The boxes looked better value than sit down... £9.95 for sit down or £5 for box... Think we will leave it for another 29years.. Try and give it clean...
