Mulberry in Worthing

Our food took nearly an hour when barely anybody was in the seated area. Staff look disinterested in helping and if i hadn't have asked maybe our food wouldn't have arrived.

Food was good, classic pub grub. Staff were lovely and friendly and the atmosphere was nice with background music

Great service from Andi behind the bar, such a warm and friendly welcome. Foods quick which is great for a weekday lunch during the working day. Added bonus is that it is two for one at the moment on some food and drink which definitely helps this time of year.

Very warm welcome when arrived by Andi, always come here with my friend in the week. 2 for 1 at the moment which is absolutely amazing. Highly recommend, lovely pub.

Family meal for mum’s birthday followed by regular Sunday evening quiz. Good food and a lovely welcoming atmosphere at the quiz.

Birthday Meal ruined will not be back soon… Was my son’s birthday on Boxing Day so we usually go for pub dinner. We usually go yeoman but we decided the mulberry would be better. We had our table booked for 5pm as we had 4 kids so we didn’t want a late one. When we arrived we handed in the cake and sat down. No crackers which was weird as we had crackers the last time I came (which was last week for a friendly group Christmas doo and my experience was so much different!) apparently 3 chefs had called in sick I mean at this point just cancel all your bookings tbh! But no they decided they could do it! 3 staff tending the bar and waitress .. just no! Starters came out well not a problem.. then about half an hour later mains finally but cold awful tastes awful nasty! By now it’s 6.30 pm so we are waiting and waiting, it’s now 7pm we hadn’t been asked if we wanted any sauces or if anything was okay. just not good enough tbh! So puddings arrived (half of them) whist half of us tucked in the other half waited another 10 minutes for the other desserts to come out. Buy now it’s pushing on 8pm we decided to call it a night and get the little ones back and just ask for the cake back! Awful experience would never ever go there again! If you don’t have chefs do your selves a favour and cancel the bookings don’t put your selves or staff or customers though that! Just don’t bother!

Christmas Dinner very good value

Excellent service, delicious food. Great place to go and celebrate with family.

My family visited for Christmas Day and we could not fault the food or service. Staff were fantastic and made such an effort to make it a wonderful occasion and the food was excellent, We had a Coeliac within our party who was catered for brilliantly.

Andi and Daisy were so lovely today as always and especially on Christmas Eve where it was so busy we love coming here as a family

Pre birthday lunch, all food served promptly and piping hot. Staff always pleasant and make you feel welcome and valued. Nothing is never to much trouble for them even if the place is packed and extremely busy, as it was on 11/12/24.

We booked a table for 8, we were looked after by a member of staff named Andi, the whole evening was brilliant. Andi went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after and gave fantastic service.

The 2 ladies serving were exceptional and were really helpful and accepting towards our big group!

We had a pre booked 3 course Christmas lunch for our clients and Support staff. There were 22 of us all together, there were 3 separate tables with plenty of room. We were booked for 12.30, had to wait for 3 or 4 before we asked for the starters at approx 12.45pm. On the downside there were only 2 staff running the bar and serving the restaurant, this was particularly poor management but the ladies Andi and Emma running this were amazing, courteous, friendly and nothing was too much trouble along with smiles on their faces, unfortunately because of the lack of staff we had to wait a good half hour-45 mins for the main course then our drinks, I went to the bar prior and asked for a jug of water and glasses. Lucky for them we are a very organised company and had a list of who was eating and drinking what which made it easier to place the food! The food was really good, the chef and kitchen staff did a great job with the food as everything came out cooked (have visited several times and there’s been an issue with something), hot and very tasty. I personally had the soup, Christmas roast and cheesecake all for £21!!! Amazing. Would certainly recommend this Christmas menu to anyone. Thank you Mulberry staff from all at Steps 2.

Visited on a quiet Monday late lunchtime. Helpful & friendly bar staff. Ordered from the menu & the food for all 3 of us was piping hot & well presented. Clean restaurant & the ladies loos were clean & in good order. All good & will visit again when next in the area.

Went for steak with camembert, as recommended by a friend, which was not on the menu. Sat by a door that wouldn't close so really cold. They moved us but the whole restaurant was cold. Bloke on the table next to us had his coat and gloves on. No table service and long wait at the bar. Ordering app not working. No tip option on the card machine. Dirty glasses. Only one napkin on the table. Wifi didn't work. Been to Greene King before and always really good so this must be the exception. No roast beef or lamb on a Sunday! My meal, however, was very nice, hot and plentiful, veg not overcooked. Veggie option greasy and flavourless. Not enough to make me want to darken their doorstep again any time soon. Or ever

Booked a table for Sunday lunch. Got there to find we were seated, on a tiny table, almost as an afterthought, next to the door to the garden, a door that didn't shut properly. It's December, Storm (insert stupid name) was blowing a gale, it was cold. Too cold to sit comfortably. The gentleman on the table opposite ours was wearing his coat and gloves. The App for ordering wasn't working, there isn't table service, so there were long queues at the bar to order. Found out that for a place that offers a Sunday roast that there was no Beef or Lamb on the menu. My partner was forced to have the only option, Turkey. She said it was ok and the vegetables were well cooked. For this reason I've given the food rating a 2 rather than a 1. I had the vegetarian option of garlic mushroom bake with cheese which was greasy with a soggy bottom. Very disappointed, I won't be going back.

Went Thurs evening, bar lady not very friendly, all seemed a bit of an effort. Younger member of staff better but slow service

The new menu doesn't compare to the old one. Still ok but missing the challenges and great portions. The vegetarian options are very limited and low quality. Burger Bogof worth trying

Been coming here on and off, and I know my gripe is to do with the brewery who set the prices, but 2 orange juices and lemonade £13.10 is just taking the piss That makes them more expensive than pints of Peroni

When ordering food one of the bar staff decided to be really rude towards us when taking our order. One of the questions he asked was what sauce we wanted with one of the meals. When we went to go ask the person who wanted that meal and he huffed and puffed and also rolled his eyes. Then when he passed us our drinks we asked to have a tray to carry them back to the table. And yet again eyes were rolled and he huffed and chucked the tray across the bar. Then when we go our drinks we asked for more sugar for the coffee and again the sugars were thrown at us and he huffed about the fact again. How ever the food was really good and the watering staff were really polite asking us how our meals were and making jokes to enlighten our evening

We were a large party of 20. I had ordered the food earlier. Service was excellent. Food very good for the price. We had the pensioners menu. Would go there again and recommend .

My family and I go to this pub a lot, the food never ever disappoints, the service is nothing but amazing and friendly. The atmosphere is friendly and they always have an upbeat soundtrack. We had Andy and Emma with us this time and they were so kind and helpful, had a lovely conversation about our holiday. We love this place!!

Lousy. Booked a table with my family member. There was a TV showing a football match in the restaurant area and there was a group of lads just drinking at a very large table in the middle of the restaurant, which was inappropriate as this is a place to enjoy a meal. Then when we went to order our food we told there was an hour wait, which was not acceptable. So we left and went somewhere else and had a lovely meal and a pleasant evening. Don't think I will return to the mulberry anytime soon

Most unhelpful barman I’ve ever met .A large round table was randomly placed in the middle of the restaurant part with people just drinking and very loud whilst others were eating. I had a table booked but never ate as the unhelpful barman when I was ordering at the bar guessed that it would be an hour wait for a burger when the restaurant part was half empty. Also having the Tv screen on with football in the restaurant. We walked out and found somewhere else with a lovely bar lady who was very helpful and we had lovely food and nice atmosphere.

We were a large party with some young adults with additional needs....the staff were very accommodating, the food was tasty and we didn't have to wait long.. thoroughly recommend!

We went yesterday and had an amazing roast dinner, was very nice. Karen was very friendly making sure our meal was good and cleaning tables for a nice environment.

We went here yesterday for a family meal and were really disappointed. It was only 16.45 and there were no roasts available!! The meals that we did order arrived after a long wait but were cold and the chips had obviously been cooked earlier and simply reheated. They were unpleasant and inedible. These were finally replaced after I complained. Two of us ordered chicken which was cold and tasteless and the fish was also cold and not nice. We had a long wait at the till to order and the staff displayed precious little customer service skills or interest. The dining room was scruffy and in need of a good clean. Such a shame. Spent £100 in total and feel as if we were robbed.

I like this place. It's a nice pub, comfortable and friendly enough. Good value. Welcoming to both locals, and passing visitors.

Typical chain pub. Lost a star rating for having Christmas decorations up in November. Standard value pub but not quite as good value as Wetherspoon pubs.

Have been coming here for 15 years last 2 visits July and August so July visit 2 steaks on sizzle plates both plates were stone cold as was the food returned both I think mains were cooked at same time as starters hence why they were cold August visit again think steaks were cooked alongside starters sizzle plates were warmish I could pick them up with bare hands sirloin steak should of been rare but was greyish in colour right through did not attempt to eat it asked for rump replacement as other steak ordered was rump and looked ok steak came out was hot but very grisly (think we upset the chef with the complaint) plate was still cold and all other food items were from original order as always bar staff and waitresses were polite professional and pleasant sadly probably won’t be back

Had the pleasure of visiting for Sunday lunch with friends. Ahdn't been before and pleasantly surprised to find it clean, tidy, friendly and welcoming with excellently priced food and drink. Plenty of parking and garden space.

Recently visited for drinks. Lack of staff, chaotic. Horrible wines, tried Chardonnay & Pinot. Hubby found the lager crap. Ladies toilet absolutely stinks & so does the mens, you can smell both before you even open the doors. Apparently the food is alright, cheap & cheerful, but don't fancy eating there due to the cleanliness & we discovered it has a bad name locally. Sad as it used to be lovely in there.

Banging food, banging drinks, and glad there were water bowls outside for my pup.

Wanted to love the place after seeing such good reviews. But unfortunately it was a disaster. Half the food we ordered wasn't available. Any chef should be able to make garlic bread! Especially as it features in so many of the meals. Despite stating we had a disabled guest on the booking we had a table upstairs. It was boiling hot in the pub. The place was unfortunately filthy. They need to clean the windows where the corner tables are. Dead flies and cobwebs tend to ruin the appetite. We had several things wrong with our order. Ranging from one entire meal missing to having the steak sauce served 15 mins after the rest of the meal. The menus were covered in ketchup. Glasses weren't clean. Just totally disappointed with the experience. Especially as it was a birthday meal. The food was fast to arrive (except the gravy) which should be a plus but the chef needs to leave the microwave alone! Not sure that we will return which is a real shame as it did seem as if it was a great place for families.

I've come here a few times with my partner and we've enjoyed it. However we came in today and realised we could order through the app. One of the female members of staff came out with our drinks and came across aggressive. She seemed really judgemental for me ordering a non alcoholic cocktail (which I am sure had alcohol in it). And as she left to go back into the building she turned around and told us we should be ordering at the bar instead. Its not our fault the menu advised we can order through the app. Pack it in Hun 😅

We watched the last 2 England games here and I can honestly say it wa such a great atmosphere and we had a lovely last Karen looking after us. Really friendly and went out her way to help us :) food tasted delicious, served with a lovely smile. Thanks Karen your puddings were so good

We only come I'm for one drink and maybe crisps or garlic bread, but it's always a nice atmosphere with friendly staff like Scott, Andie, Emma, Neil and the others

I ordered a well done steak that arrived cremated but the main problem is that I contracted food poisoning

Good place to go for cheap and cheerful pub grub but the staff would benefit from some customer service training. Twice now this year I’ve visited and 2 particular members of staff were actually quite rude to me and other people I was with. Garden area is nice in the summer and lots of food/drink choice. Whole place could do with a deep clean.

Chips were nice, burgers weren’t amazing, no sauces in any of sauce pots after hunting for some as no cutlery or sauces were given to our table, took over 30 mins just to order drinks and food. Speed of food coming out was okay. Won’t be returning.

My friends and I had great steaks here. Our server, Andy, gave great service! She was very friendly, showed lots of care.

Visited The Mulberry In Worthing Friday for Lunch. It was a lovely sunny day. So sat in The Garden. The lovely Rachel served us. She was just perfect, even scaring the seagulls off. She checked on us several times, to make sure our food was all good and it definitely was. She cleared our table very quickly after we had finished. Lovely food and great service from Rachel. And such great value , will definitely be back .

We didn't eat whilst here but what came out of the kitchen looked very good indeed. We sat in the garden which to be honest let's the place down especially with the summer around the corner. It could do with a bit of TLC and some new furniture.

I used to live in Worthing for a number of years and there aren't too many pubs around this area and I do really like the Mulberry, the staff are really welcoming, friendly and helpful. Nice indoor area and a sizeable garden area. I think the drinks and food are reasonably priced. Other upsides are a wheelchair accessible entrance, good selection of drinks, alcohol and soft and would recommend, and would return again.

Great food. The slow beef rib is highly recomended. Rachel was friendly, our foods came as requested. Compliment to the Chef. Thank you all.

Your Guinness is probably one of the best in worthing. However it's all let down by the mouldy radiator in the gents loos. Also my glass was dirty twice, I think you need a new dishwasher!

Food was nice and drinks standard, garden very run down and the only area you could eat outside was in the shade. A lot of people found this to be the issue on this day. Didn't ruin it but did make it slightly less enjoyable

The Staff really looked out for us today

Very nice meal served very quickly. Staff friendly and helpful. Menu good variety to choose from. Very good size portions, to big for me, can't fault the price where can you get 2 first class meals for £13.99. We certainly will go back and bring friends. Congratulations.

Venue fine, restaurant quite. The food was terrible. Got to e the worst steak meal I have ever had. About 40% inedible fat, swimming in grease with onions which were cold. The chips were OK

Disappointed by dirty environment. Poor food. Will not return unless it changes. That was 6 years ago...... My how things change in 6 years. New menu, new decor, new staff( thank you for your help ANDY!). You really must try some of the extensive menu, or budget for 2 meals for £13.99!. Wish you all success, keep it up !!! D

Went last night (6:30)& it was very busy with it seems just two staff, man behind bar who seemed to have patience of a saint & just one lady who took food orders working on her own. Our table was dirty & asked for it to be cleaned-we noticed that most tables were not cleaned when people left & others took their place. Pl note our drinks glasses were also dirty & we asked for wine glass to be changed. Food good but place needs good ‘deep clean’

I run a social Bingo group and organised a meal for 26 members. The Staff at the Mulberry are so accommodating and friendly. They managed our large group with ease, we had our Christmas Meal there in December and were so impressed we decided to return again. A happy day was had by all my lovely group. Well done to all the staff and of course the cook who manged to get all our orders right. They all deserve a medal with their patience.

Six meals ordered and not one arrived with the correct ingredients to match what we ordered. To mixed grills arrived with no onion rings Hunters gammon skillet arrived as gammon skillet without the Hunters topping. Two hunters chicken arrived without bacon cheese and bbq sauce Chicken signature burger arrived as plain chicken burger. No toppings at all. It was if whoever was cooking had no idea of the menu. Two stars given as what we had was ok , but disappointing experience.

My local, and love the menu and meal deals, so for a cheap meal for 2 you can't go wrong! Lots of space and social distancing and a lovely garden. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Shocking food! From the point of ordering a sirloin steak to the sitting down to eat it makes me thing they just cooked an already cooked steak ! Chewy, burnt, and disgusting.

Great meal and friendly staff, especially Andrea. We had the sharing 24oz steak and camembert platter which was cooked to perfection with lots of sides included, great value. Will definitely be going back for more.
