Nagomi Japanese - Korean Hotpot & Grill in Cheltenham

Great Japanese / Korean resteraunt. We had the Korean BBQ, which was delicious, but a little pricey.

Had a fab evening meal here, very friendly staff, the service was quick and best of all great food! I will defiantly be heading back again.

Spectacular restaurant in Cheltenham, highly recommend for a special occasion! Portia, Ishi, Sara and their wonderful team looked after 10 of us celebrating a birthday party, it was very memorable and special for my wife. They recommended lots of great dishes and drinks, which went down a treat. Thank you to everyone at Nagomi!

Great Japanese-Korean restaurant in Cheltenham! The food was great and so was the service. We had Korean bbq and spicy tuna roll and both were really good. We enjoyed everything. We’ll definitely come back 👌🏼

Great mix of Japanese and Korean food, both really high quality and delicious. The atmosphere and decorations in the restaurant were really cool (lots of effort went into it!) and lastly the staff were super friendly. Would definitely come back!

Delicious food and great service!

Worth the hour drive to try their samgyeopsal, korean chicken, wagyu beef, japchae and fried rice. Had fun grilling and drinking. We will definitely be back soon to try the hotpot.

We weren’t a fan of the hot plate option BUT if you avoid that and get lots of the small plates then it is excellent. Also shout out to the whirling multitasker that is the manager/owner/superwoman 👏🏼

I had the pleasure of dining here with my son recently and it was truly wonderful. The restaurant is warm and welcoming and Portia, the owner is so lovely and friendly. She explained the menu and what we had to do to cook it. The food was delicious and we had such fun cooking on the gas burner. We will be back. If you haven't tried this place, you really must. We ate the barbecue at the table, it was a wonderful experience, in this cold weather there is nothing better. The food is wonderful, the restaurant with a Japanese/Korean atmosphere makes us feel like we are there. Wonderful service

This place is great, expectations were low but it proved me wrong. Ordered ribeye and bulgogi (twice) and it was great. Got to grill it myself and it tasted great. Atmosphere was great, with posters and books. Quality.

Nagomi isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a vibe. The carefully curated menu is like a greatest hits album of Japanese and Korean cuisine – every dish is a chart-topper. And yes, their fried chicken deserves its own fan club. Crispy, juicy, and seasoned to perfection, it’s the kind of dish that makes you reconsider all your life choices (mainly why you didn’t order more). The surroundings? Spotless. You could probably eat off the floor, but why would you when there’s perfectly good sushi on the table? The atmosphere is so calming you’ll forget all about the emails you haven’t answered and that text from your boss you “accidentally” ignored. Service? On point. The staff are attentive but not hovering, like culinary ninjas ensuring your meal is flawless. Verdict: Nagomi is a delicious escape from reality. Come for the fried chicken, stay for the zen, and leave with a satisfied stomach and a new appreciation for life. 10/10 would cluck again.

Such a treat to eat at Nagomi. The Bibimbap was excellent and do not sleep on the Korean fried chicken with honey. I highly recommend it, thanks for the suggestion, Sarah!! The best part is the restaurant is dog friendly. They brought water over for my pup and some lovely chicken. Can’t wait to come back!

We went to Nagomi for the first time as a family. We had a platter and a few extra dishes. Everything came within half an hour and the flavours were fabulous. We enjoyed cooking our meats and tasting the variety. By the time we left, the restaurant was full. We will return.

What an amazing experience. For anyone that wants to give their tastebuds an out of this world experience, do go to Nagomi Japanese. We had multiple dishes between the group and not one was mediocre. Treat yourself (and the other half) and head on to Nagomi Japanese.

I’ve lived in Cheltenham for a while but never had the chance to visit here but I thought my birthday would be a good occasion for a visit. I cannot recommend the food, atmosphere and service enough. The front of house was fantastic and all the waitresses and waiters were excellent. The food was so delicious and will have us coming back again. Cannot recommend Nagomi enough.

This is a lovely family run restaurant with a unique feature- a bbq stove in the middle of the table. This allows you the option you cook some meat and have that fresh taste (less than a minute to cook) or to buy tasty Korean food from the cooked side of the menu. We loved our meal here and will be back again

A very warm welcome, super and professional service with excellent quality fresh food and sauces, some cooked by oneself in a well controlled table centre 'fire', made for a fantastic and nicely different Korean-Japanese eating experience.

We just had a very long lunch at Nagomi with 8 members of my family including two small boys. I never normally leave reviews but Portia, the owner, was amazing, friendly, warm and excellent at distracting the boys when required! The food was delicious and cooking at the table enjoyed by us all. We felt nurtured and welcomed and not rushed in any way. We will certainly come here again on a regular basis and have no hesitation in recommending this dining experience. A small local restaurant that deserves to be supported!

Lovely food and atmosphere, they were very good with my wife's and brother in law's nut allergies as well.

We went to Nagomi for my wife’s 40th birthday. We had a wonderful experience. Portia was a fantastic host as were the other staff. We ordered so much food, everything was well presented and incredibly tasty. We particularly liked the corn dogs and the spicy Korean chicken. Portia engaged the males of our party in a chugging contest where we bizarrely had to head butt the table before we chugged the drink. The food did not disappoint and you won’t come away hungry. We will definitely come back and look forward to enjoying the experience of Nagomi again. The complementary Sake was a nice touch at the end. Cheltenham has a brilliant choice of fantastic restaurants and this is right up there, not just for the food but the whole experience.

Well taken care of by Portia and team. Food was delicious. Difficult to pick a favourite from the Korean fried chicken to the live grilled pork and beef! The glass noodle stir fry also deserves a mention. Oh, and the plum cocktail too. Yum, just yum!

It's a really lovely place and a very different dining experience with some dishes like the hotpot that cooks in the middle of the table while you eat and makes the broth even richer. The owner Portia, is an amazing person and goes the extra mile to make your experience really good. And just strictly rating the food 9/10.

Have heard about Nagomi for a while; finally dined there and it did not disappoint. We tried out the Japanese indoor bbq with beef bulgogi, pork belly and Seoul fried chicken which was all delicious. We are usually regulars at another local Japanese restaurant but after walking past one day and the lovely smells coming out of this restaurant we decided to give it a go and book. We were not disappointed! We didn't try the "grill your own" options and opted for a mixture of noodles and sushi. Absolutely all of it was bursting with flavour and very well cooked. Staff were great and very knowledgeable. Especially the manager who could not have been more helpful and friendly, it's clear she's really proud and passionate about her restaurant and so she should be! Can't wait to go back and have recommended our friends and family visit too. Thank you for making our evening so enjoyable.

Great food, super friendly staff and didn’t even need to wait long. We came in at 8 for a table for 2 on a busy Friday night and was given a table at the bar which was actually really nice as we got to chat to the staff. The manager said she wasn’t having a great day, but she wanted to make sure everyone else was having a great day which is so kind. She was honestly the nicest person I’ve met in a while and her hospitality was amazing. Plus who doesn’t love free soju shots :) The food was very tasty, good sized portions, I think we left feeling full afterwards. The atmosphere felt incredibly authentic, you could really imagine this in Japan or Korea. It was just great will definitely come again soon!

Terrible experience Took half an hour to get a table then was impossible to get food or drink in less than another half an hour as the staff ( all 2 of them serving) seemed to be 16 yr olds on job experience! We left really hungry after 40 mins to get a lovely Sri Lanka curry just around the corner- we waited 5 mins for food! After getting a reply back from the owner who basically said it was impossible to wait the time I specified- i’d like to add some detail. We booked mid week during the Cheltenham literature festival so it was busy. We waited as specified for a table, then the waiter seemed unable to serve us drinks as couldn’t find a piece of paper to write our order down on! After another half an hour and chatting to others there before us who were also waiting for food- we left- with no drinks or food. We can’t comment on the food as we didn’t get any! I’m glad the owner took my comment about the waiters as a compliment- it wasn’t!

What an amazing restaurant! Portia and her staff are great, very friendly and welcoming. The food was fantastic, well priced and delicious. Great to see such a wide variety on the drinks menu with a great selection of Sake and Japanese whisky. Thoroughly recommend, next time you consider going to Wagamama's walk a few steps further down the road and go here instead.

Hier, nous avons fait un voyage spécial ici pour manger et nous nous sommes bien amusés. Nous avons fait un barbecue et d'autres plats. Yesterday, when I came here, I had a lot of food, and I had some food to burn and some other food.
