I've been going to nags head for around 10 years. I have never had a bad experience. Great staff, lovely atmosphere, amazing food and a terrific drink selection. Recommend to anyone and everyone

Several items on the menu unavailable so had to settle for alternatives which weren't really what we were looking forward to. Also food not as hot as it should have been.

We love the place usually but food was stone cold, plates stone cold, poor quality compared to normal. Very small mushrooms 3, 2 onion rings, half a small tomato and steak was rare but poorly cooked and cold. Should be served on a hot plate and steak pie was cold! Small amount of peas. Small jacket pot!! We got 30% off but that should not reflect in the quality of food served. So we were disappointed and wondered WHO had cooked the food as it was quiet in there, just one man serving doing everything until another man appeared later!!

Don't bother with Christmas Day food. It's a very expensive glorified carvery. Tables not even decorated apart from a cheap cracker. Even the reservation slips were just printed out on a bit of paper. Zero effort had gone into making this special for people and there was zero atmosphere. A complete and utter waste of money

Just returned from a fantastic boxing day lunch! We had a mixture of 2 and 3 courses from the festive menu, couldn't fault any of it. Lovely carvery, lots of choice, good options for vegetarian and vegans, overall a great meal out. Have also been recently on both Sundays for a carvery and mid week for burgers. Had great, home cooked food every time. The staff are worth a special mention as well for their great, friendly service. Nothing is too much trouble. Would highly recommend 👌

2nd time I have visited and good experience

We visit fairly regularly but yesterday was not a good visit. 3 of my party had steak and 2 of them were tough. Waitress came and asked if everything was okay and my friend explained hers was tough. She was offered a different knife !! The steak was sent back and after 15 minutes another one appeared. My friend had purchased an additional sauce but we were advised we would have to pay for another even though it had been poured on the substandard steak. Very poor customer service. There was one table of approx 16 but other than that minimal people in the pub. My husband also stated that the gents toilets were disgusting with a smell emanating before you reached the outer door. As they are very near the carvery that is most unacceptable. We may not visit again.

On a very cold day, The Nags Head was lovely, warm and welcoming. We ordered the carvery and a lovely bottle of Sauv Blanc. The carvery was delicious. The Turkey and Beef succulent, huge Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and big selection of veg. The gravy was really tasty too. Had a great visit and enjoyed every minute.

Popped in for a bite of lunch. The pub is dog friendly which is the main reason we stopped here. Food here was nice and friendly service.

My wife and I attended at The Nags Head for a tea time meal in company with our friends We did not book in advance. On arrival there were plenty of available tables. We received a warm welcome from the young lady behind the bar. After selecting a table we ordered our food. When the food came the portions were good and the food was very tasty. The service was good. For a first visit we were impressed and will definitely be back.

We both decided to have the curry special that was on offer and it was delicious. The portion was a great size, served along with nan bread, poppadom and mango chutney it was delicious and we will definitely be having this again. The staff were friendly and the pub itself, even though we went early, had a good feel to it and was clean. Would highly recommend a visit

Excellent carvery today. All the staff go above and beyond to make your meal the best. Very helpful with my client who has dementia, especially chef who even helped me carry food to the table. My client loves all the staff as they are so friendly which is a bonus.

Steak and ale pie was excellent. The Hunter's chicken was missing the BBQ sauce. £9.75 for a glass of wine a bit steep!

Haven't visited since it was a 2for1 pub. Popped in on the off chance we would get a table as we were nearby. I was pleased that there was a carvery that I didn't know the pub did. The choice on the carvery and the quality of the cooking was amazing. The Yorkshire puddings were the size of my head! Really friendly staff who said you can go back and help yourself to the carvery veg as much as you want. Really good value for money - delicious carvery and I will definitely visit again :)

Not very nice at all, chips greasy the beer battered onion rings was burned and squashed together. My partners chicken was enimic. I did complain and asked why the chef was sending out these meals and all that was said was sorry your not happy...and that was that !! I wouldn't come back here again.

Very polite staff, very understanding with special needed children, food has beeen the best it has ever been after new ownership. These guys have regular visits from us. If there is an issue they always sort it for you.

Another great meal out with the family. Everyone had something different, 1 beef carvery, 1 vegetarian cauli cheese tart carvery, 1 sharers nachos, 1 gammon egg and chips, 1 vegan chilli, 1 big kid's gammon, egg and chips and 1 small kid's tomato pasta. Everyone enjoyed every bite and were all stuffed to the ginnels!

Decent enough place. Staff were lovely and friendly, food was nice. It's a brewery owned chain kind of pub so not what you'd call "home cooked" food but there was nothing wrong with it! Plenty of outdoor seating and good sized dining areas. Also has a dog friendly section.

Good Sunday, carvery, but disappointed with the puddings waited 20 minutes and had to ask if they had been forgotten. Soft drinks are very expensive.

My husband , sister and I came for a pub lunch today . I can honestly say the pub itself is warm, welcoming and very clean . The staff were very friendly , helpful and patient ( we are almost 80 and technophobes). The menu is extensive and the food was beautiful and plentiful. Well worth the journey from Willerby . The first time we’ve visited since the new people have taken over and it definitely won’t be the last, we were really impressed how much it has improved. The food and service was great. The pub is great for families

Service was slow and poor, we were shown to our table by a young girl, who then wasn’t sure which table was ours and told us to wait whilst she checked, we stood in the middle of the restaurant for 5 or more minutes before another member of staff asked if we were ok? Eventually seated. We were advised 45 minutes for food which was fine, it was longer then that for our starters to arrive, mains we had to chase twice and finally arrived about 830. We arrived at 630 and had orders by 645 despite being unable to use the app as there was apparently a glitch? Not a great experience overall although the food we eventually got was ok!

Ok food,but greeted with "It's a half hour wait for food" doesn't fill you with joy. Only maybe 15 20 people in so don't know how they would cope if it was busy. Alright if your passing and want a basic meal but wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

I have been there several times and it's always a nice meal and nice quick service. The only criticism is when paying by card it asks what percentage of tip you want to give. The workers shouldn't need to rely on tips. They should be given a decent wage instead.

Went to order food and the staff behind the bar were serving a customer in front. They asked for an orange and lemonade and the girl behind the bar said she did not know how to make that so the customer had to tell her what to do. They then messed this customers order up and the manager had to come and sort it out while the girl served us. There was no steak available (my husbands choice). This was a Friday night at 6.15pm and we would have expected something like this to be available. The girl behind the bar then messed our order up and the manager had to sort this. After 30 mins of waiting for our food we asked where it was and was told there was a 45 minute wait for food and we should have been told this when we ordered (had we known there was a 45 min wait we would have gone elsewhere). They then put a notice up in the entrance saying they were not taking anymore customers in. The table next to us (who had just walked in) asked why this was the case and were told it was because there was a 45 minute wait so they weren't accepting anymore orders. The section of the pub that we were in was almost empty. I would hate to see how they cope when it is busy! The table next to us decided to stay anyway and when the man came back with a lager and black for one of his party, she took one sip and said, there isn't hardly any lager in this. It seems the girl who didn't know how to make the orange and lemonade, also didn't know how to make the lager and black. The lady who the drink was for, took it back and got just a straight lager. The only positive thing I can say, was that I enjoyed the meal. However, my husband didn't and he was not very well the next day. I visited this pub about 2 years ago with a works 'do' and none of us were impressed then and have never been back for a works 'do' since. As we had received a voucher for 30% off, I thought I would give it another chance but I won't be going back again or recommending it to anyone. We also found it amazing that vouchers were being posted through doors to encourage business and the pub couldn't cope with the customers it had (which weren't that many).

Lovely meal and fast service delivering it to the table. On the flip side we stayed for another drink after the meal as we were catching up and no one ever removed our plates the whole time - there were flies everywhere (country location and food so not an issue) so we moved the dirty plates to another empty table and they were still there when we walked out over an hour later and there was only another table or two in.

Nice traditional pub. Food was good. Would visit again if in the area.

Fabulous. Went 28th august and rebooked for the next night too. Different but Lovely staff both nights even though the young lad serving was new he handled our food order and requests perfectly. Thank you 29th August Table 18

Called by chance whilst staying in the area & looking for somewhere good to eat, based on high reviews left by others. Arrived without any booking. No issue & seated. Told that we would have a 50 min wait for food. (No problem for us) and we would rather be told this instead of having to wait & not knowing. However, food arrived within 20 mins at most. The food was great. Mixed grill for me. My wife had Donner kebab & and my son had gammon. All perfectly cooked & tasty with good portions. Pleasant staff also. Will be back when next visiting the area.

The only thing lacking was Marston's own Pedigree bitter. How odd??

Saturday lunchtime... we arrived soon after 12 (mum likes to eat early) and found something we fancied on the menu. Staff were all friendly and quick to serve. All no fuss, and as long a wait for food as you would expect with fresh food. Cleaned our plates, the wine was decent and R Whites on tap for the driver, who was happy. Plenty of free parking and only 5 minutes drive from the overcrowded pubs of Beverley.. would recommend!

Decent main, steak cooked well (surf n turf advertised as whole tail whitby scampi, it wasnt it was the cheap crap you can get from any discount food shop)but massively let down with the dessert. Apple crumble and custard, getting hotter as I ate it which suggests a little too long in the microwave. Hardly any custard, after burning my mouth for the second time couldn't eat it. Strangely, the photo I can't add was taken through the website and I can't find it in any of my albums. Strange, well maybe....

Poor customer service Roisin who had a terrible attitude whilst being asked the simplest of questions. Made to feel unwelcome. Very unprofessional. Make sure you check your receipt here. Update - there was no verbal altercation at all... She was perfectly fine and laughing when I left. Seems the owner likes to lie to make an honest review seem nasty.... That's exactly what this is. An honest review.

Lovely environment. Wide choice of food on menu. Good food and large portions. However would be nice if biscuits and cheese is available as sometimes diners may not want a sweet /dessert. Would definitely return for a meal provided I am in the area. Everyone in the party /group enjoyed the food. However would be helpful if staff were more confident in explaining different meal deals that are available (e.g. if children eating for £1.00 works out to be cheaper than other deals that are available) Tables are well spaced out so you can carry out a conversation with your party and you are not listening to other conversations.

Haven’t been for a few years but wow the food has improved hugely! Great value and great food. Staff couldn’t have been nicer and the atmosphere was really nice, could see all of the staff were happy and well looked after. Will definitely be going again!

We stopped here on our way to Scarborough food was well cooked and presented. However I want to mention the outstanding service we received from Roisin and Jenny they are professional friendly and polite and a huge asset to the pub they deserve a pay rise!!😁

Great country pub good food ,good value for money, you can eat inside or out so if you have a pet it go with you ,plenty of room for kids inside or outside
