One of the best nandos I've had in a long time the chicken was cooked on point

When we arrived we were informed the heating was broken and there was temporary heating but could still be a little chilly. We really appreciated being informed about this and it was still fairly warm. Food was lovely, all brought out quickly and tasted great. The service was amazing, staff were very friendly and kind. Overall, we were very happy with this visit and would go again!

The food was was fine, but we had a long wait to be seated and I found the atmosphere on the ground floor where we were seated, dismal and dark.

We have very disappointed with the last few takeaways. Less chicken each time and smaller portions, no sauce or napkins. Not good value for money. We won't be ordering again. Expensive for what you get.

Food is good. It is cold when sit near windon at 2nd floor.

my partner and i came here for dinner as we do enjoy nando’s. however, when we got here and seated and ordered, our food arrived and mid way thru eating , i began choking as something sharp was stuck in my throat - i didn’t think anything of this as i usually shove my food down so i blamed myself for it, had a drink and carried on eating. anywho - we ordered too much so we got it bagged up to take home - the next day my partner had the left over food for his lunch, only to find him spitting out his food with something “sharp and hard like a bone” and there was a few of them however this is just the photo he sent me after the fact. this makes me wonder if this is what i had choked on the day before at the restaurant. we’ve never had any issues at nando’s before this. the best of it is - we didn’t order chicken with any bones. so whatever this is , is beyond me.

Treated appalling by staff from the moment we walked in

Staff were nice and friendly, had to wait for the table which they turned around for us quickly and was clean. Food is what you'd expect from this chain.

Friendly staff although weird setup being sent upstairs immediately after entering. Frustrating though that most of the sodas we're out of syrup and rather than refill we were just told to go downstairs if we wanted them.

Staff were lovely! Despite the fact I messed up my own order they gave me a side for free! We ate in at around 18:30-19:45 on the top floor so whoever was staffing the upstairs, thank you!

Perfectly ordinary Nando’s elevated by lovely staff, really friendly and attentive, we had a nice time.

Have always loved a cheeky Nandos. In the need for a quick ISH dinner, headed to Nandos in York. Staff were friendly. Service was quick, yet somehow my burger and chips were mildly warm at best. Staff offered to bring out another or give us a complimentary dessert.

Me and my mum came on GCSE results day to celebrate my results. Expectantly the restaurant was very busy so we decided to book ahead for 1pm. We went to see if we could get in any time sooner as we were quite hungry. Despite the rush of customers, the staff were very kind and welcoming and made sure our table would be ready for us sooner than 1pm. We went in at 12:20 and got seated within 15 minutes even though it was very busy and other customers were waiting too. The blond man that was running front of house was very pleasant, kind and welcoming and consistently assured us that our table would be ready soon. We sat upstairs and ordered our food from the till and due to results day they were doing a free starter or a free ¼ chicken. Our starters came within minutes of us ordering and our mains came around 10 minutes afterwards. The staff upstairs and downstairs seemed to have everything under control even in a very busy situation and the food was delicious and quickly served. Thanks for a lovely meal and we will be returning soon!

Can't go wrong with Nandos!! This is the best spot for me as a vegetarian, I haven't found any other place that can compete with their chickpea burger. The best burger and dining experience in UK

No salad no vegetables and rude staff. Never again, ruined the evening and no apology!

Cozy place in the city center of York. We had a chicken liver and it was delicious. Also Broccoli always perfectly cooked in Nando’s. Enjoyed.

By far the worst Nandos I have had. Chips were just about warm, and the butterfly chicken was way over cooked and very dry.

Had lunch with my teen yesterday as he raved about Nandos. Absolutely appalling! Half the menu was unavailable due too there fridge broken. ( I understood this) no discount offered! I ordered. ( I actually didn't want too stay but my teen insisted) Garlic bread burnt too a sinder. I took it back! Replaced Garlic bread undercooked. Butter Fly Chicken as dry as a chicken left too bake in the sun. Chip's average! Corn on the cob as hard as rock's! Tables sticky, Toilets filthy and had too ask for forks as only knifes available. Condiments so watered-down and full of spice. A complete waste of £33...Staff hanging around the desk downstairs! One guy employee adding ice to his Corona Tropical Can he had in his hand. I did want too upset my teen as we rarely spend time together. But I have visited a great many Nandos over the years. Bluewater and Leeds among some. But York Nandos are appalling!!!!... Food appalling!...You are so lucky I kept quiet due too not spoiling my teens day. I was fuming!!!....

Just love the great tasting grilled chicken marinated with hot peri peri sauce.

Probably the best Nando's chicken wings I've ever eaten, and my partner agreed! Would highly recommend the share platter for two. The decor is great and the staff are really friendly. 10/10

We came for our first visit today. I am sorry to say it will also be our last. Two of our party were very disappointed when their chips were barely warm. I can't believe the price I paid for my butterfly chicken, I could have bought a full chicken!!! At almost £70, it was not an enjoyable experience. Sorry Nandos I can't see what all the fuss is about.

Nando's is an absolute vibe, amazing atmosphere and customisablity of your food's spice level is a nice touch. As a chicken lover, I must reccomend.

Loved the food but service seemed a bit random - I went to collect and staff members were just passing by without anyone asking me what I wanted 😂 A bit awkward I'll say!

1st time in a Nando's, very impressed. Once I found my way around the menu.

On arrival, told it would be a 25 minute wait. Allowed up bang on that amount of time, only to find at least 5 free and clean tables upstairs. Not sure why we had to wait, let alone so long. Meal then took nearly half an hour to arrive. A long time for fast food - which added up to nearly an hour until we ate from entry. The seats were next to a vent blowing cold air. As it was 15 degrees outside we both had to wear coats. There was an extremely perfunctory check on whether we were satisfied with the food at one point- box ticked. 2 stars are for my daughter's company and the food- which, while overpriced, was at least tasty. I will not be returning. A massive disappointment.

Diet Coke machine ran out. Took 10 mins to get sorted. Refunded me for beer in cash which I don’t want for only beer they didn’t have in stock. Dirty toilets. Go somewhere else

It's seems after some recent bad reviews about the service that the staff are trying very hard to rectify that. Ethan's efforts in helping me make the most of the reward system was extremely helpful and more importantly saved me some money! Food was fine, service was excellent. Staff checked on the meals, and smiled, which is better than many Nandos I've been to before. Very good.

Disappointing. Host was friendly but looked all over the place, running around. Rest of the night was poor. Food was very late, came about an hour after we ordered it. Got a little diddy apology from the waitress but not sincere, really. Fair enough, I suppose, wasn't her fault. Food was fine. Had better from Nando's, though. Toilets also stank, and two people got a huge table all to themselves while we had to sit on a two-seater. No farewell or goodbye when leaving, won't be going back.

You go to chain restaurants because generally you expect a basic level of service. This is by far the worst service I've ever had in a Nandos. They got my order wrong three times and kept checking my receipt as if I was in the wrong. Waited for a ridiculously long time and it wasn't even packed. Lots of staff standing around doing nothing except gossiping including about customers such as myself, when my food eventually came it was cold. Terrible. The place itself is extremely cramped too and tatty inside. One of the worst I've ever been to.

We went on a Sunday and we visit here every time we go to York. Food was amazing . Staff were lovely and even thought it was busy there was only a short wait. Especially for around 2pm ish.

Amazing food, and for some reason some times we get free brownies which is great. I can’t get enough of the extra hot sauce haha

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE NIGHT! The food was amazing and the service was unforgettable. I licked the plate clean! Ethan was extremely great and catered to my every need! I even got some food to go so I could share some peri peri chicken with my american bully melissa.

Food was served lukewarm, especially the chips which looked liked they'd been standing around for ages. We were very disappointed. No member of staff came to ask if everything was okay as they usually do in other Nandos branches. When I finally got to speak to a staff member only when she came to clear the next table, I said the chips were awful and lukewarm, the rice and chicken were slightly warmer but nowhere near hot, she said she could offer me a portion of chips to take away, and blamed problems with the till for why no-one had been to the tables. I declined this poor offer and we left, but won't be back.

Food ok I guess. Toilet facilities terrible! Got wet when roof leaked above the table and had to be moved.

Really good Nandos experience. 2 minute wait for a table at lunchtime midweek. They don't seem to be too rushed at lunch which is nice. Excellent service and good food. Everything came out hot and delicious. Bathrooms were clean, and the entire restaurant was too. Would happily return.

The location is easy to find. The food is delicious and fresh. The price is reasonable. The ambience is calm.

Chris (I believe he was the manager) served us and his service was second to none. It was my birthday meal and he couldn’t have done enough for us. Fantastic service.

Amazing food in an amazing city!!!

The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was great. The service was pretty slow. We ordered online as there seemed to only be one member of staff running the food and one sporadically on the till. We had to get our own glasses in the end and one woman was waiting 10 minutes at the counter to be served.

Fab had fun chicken was beautiful as always. We had a one year old baby with us, and the service was good.

Nando's, has always been fast food in a restaurant setting, now it's an order at the table situation, the rest of the service seems to have evaporated. No glasses, or any recognisable service help. Food, one chicken good, other meh. chips undercooked. Decor nice and smart and welcome at the front desk warm.

Always like the food, however at this particular restaurant just as the meal arrived the heating by the side of us turned to blowing cold air which cooled our food and we ended up eating with our coats on. Couldn't move tables as they were set up for a party. Annoying it was as if they wanted to get rid of us. Giving 4 stars just for the food

I popped in here quite late on a Friday night at about 10.15 p.m., and they served me, bless them. The food was excellent, and just what I needed, after a couple of beers. Highly recommended, as always. And it was lovely and warm in there, especially when it was absolutely freezing 🥶 outside. The spicy food warmed me up too, lol.

The worst Nandos I've ever visited, cold restaurant cold plates and over cooked chicken and warmed up chips.

Food was lukewarm and portion sizes were vastly different between me and my friend despite both ordering the same thing. Also, ordered Peri-salted chips but received the non salted version.

Best atmosphere for a nice meal in between shopping. This Nandos is very different building has old architecture doors and windows. Staff were super attentive, approachable and helpful. Lots of seating available so great for groups and families too.

First visit, & certainly not the last. It's a cozy building with a lovely cozy atmosphere, the food was perfectly cooked and tasty, but what really makes this place sparkle are the staff, very pleasant, very helpful, great service, can't ask for better.

We were sat upstairs. It was very quiet. There were a few other customers, but not much of an atmosphere. The hygiene in both the male and female toilets were very poor. In both rooms, one cubicle was out of order. In the working cubicle, the toilets were not clean, the toilet seat was broken, and there was no soap in the dispenser.

Usual fare... major issue is that toilets for men had 2 cubicals... one was out of order and other occupied forever... several people queuing... advised staff that not good but staff too busy serving. Had to leave.
