We had a great Sunday brunch here The restaurant was full with a great atmosphere, but still felt refined and not “busy”. You could have a conversation without needing to shout which is never a given in London restaurants. Food was good and arrived quickly. There is a good variety on the menu and everything we had was done well. We thought the portions were generous and overall the menu offered really good value. Staff were a highlight - the host/maître d’ was really welcoming and friendly whilst being discreetly in control of all the details and all the waiting staff who dealt with our table were excellent. Highly recommend

After a long day in London, this place looked so inviting through the window. We hadn’t booked but from the first greeting, to coats being taken and hung up , to being seated for the most enjoyable meal. This friendly welcoming restaurant turned out to be one of the nicest meals I’ve had in a long time. Chefs looked happy and food was delicious. Totally recommend the beetroot and sheep’s cheese entree followed by the celeriac carbonara and finished off with cheese. 10/10 for service.

Great service...friendly and attentive. Wonderful food...we had the most delicious selection if small plates (which were actually quite large) and each one was lovely and something a little bit different. The celeriac carbonara was divine, as was the beetroot and soft cheese. Also the English cheese was great. Nice, comfortable setting. Highly recommend

We ate at this restaurant for the first time yesterday and were very impressed. We arrived early as we were dining before going to the theatre and were promptly seated and attended to straight away. The food was exceptional; I had the chalk stream trout and my guest the flatiron chicken, both of which were delicious and perfectly cooked and presented. I'm not usually one for desserts, but the Cherry Bakewell pudding we shared afterwards was fantastic - not too sweet and incredibly moreish. All of the staff were wonderful and we felt very well looked after. Definitely a restaurant we'll go back to and recommend to friends.

Great spot for a dinner with old friends. Been a few times before and keep coming back, the food is consistently excellent quality. I can’t not order the steak, so had this again, the bread it’s served on soaks up all the delicious flavours… lord it’s good. Other stand outs were the leeks and spelt risotto. Will be back again for sure!

Our experience at Nessa was excellent. Firstly, for this part of London this restaurant is not expensive. Most main courses under £30. Only one or two bottles of wine on the menu over £100 and many at good value. The service (thanks Danny) was very good from start to finish, and all of the staff we encountered were friendly, attentive and went about their work with a smile. Everything we ate was of high quality and packed full of flavour. We had 3 things from the snack menu between 2 of us, and a main course each and we could not manage dessert. Completely full. Not much else to say. I have eaten in London so many times and been disappointed with either service, value or quality. Nessa scores well on all 3 points. My suggestion is that you discount some of the negative reviews and try it for yourself.

Met family while visiting London for brunch which was a lovely occasion, weather great but unfortunately cannot say the same for brunch. The muffins were so hard you couldn’t get your knife through it and the toast was the same, had to ask for butter as it was too hard for our little man. The eggs were overcooked and not soft & runny, very disappointed expensive bunch but didn’t complain as family who live in London booked the restaurant, would never go again, for that price you expect it to be spot on every time.

We came for brunch after googling “best brunch in London” and we were not disappointed. We had a sausage muffin, hash browns, and French toast. There was not a morsel remaining, and the service was fabulous. The staff were also very reassuring in relation to my nut allergy. We are now on the hunt for better French toast. Does it exist?

We visited Nessa twice within 2 weeks due to having a voucher to spend which we had been given as gift. The first time we visited was on Saturday evening, we sat down at 19:35 and ordered by 19:50, the server had no idea what came with the mains when we asked and just seemed lacking in customer service experience. We were told one of our starters had sold out which is of course not abnormal but took awhile for them to come back to tell us this. We were served the starters and as we were so hungry had eaten them by 20:15. We had our drinks order retaken for another round and had our main cutlery laid, it got to 21:00 and the same server who laid the main cutlery and had been looking after us all evening came over and cleared up the cutlery and offered a dessert menu. We told them we hadn’t eaten, she seemed very confused. At this point, it took 10 minutes for us to be reset with cutlery. We decided then we didn’t want to eat there and just get out of there to grab something quick. We were hungry and it just felt such a waste as we clearly had been forgotten about. It wasn’t busy at all. When speaking to magmentment we said we wanted to go and explain why and they said our food is now on the way, we said it’s been over an hour since we had our starters we just wanted to get out of there. At first she said we had to pay for our starters and drinks, we were happy to do so but she was beyond rude and made no apologises for there error. ‘We’ve kindly taken the mains off the bill for you’ well I would like to think so as we hadn’t eaten them. We luckily left without paying for anything as we said we weren’t happy with the blaming of us leaving on ourselves. We went back for brunch yesterday as the reviews for brunch seemed better, I will say the service for most of the meal was good and the normal speed you’d expect. But we only had a main each and a drink so wasn’t like it was full dining experience. The food was nice, nothing special. However, 30 minutes after our food had been cleared we were just ignored whilst all the staff were stood chatting around 8ft away from us. I had to ask for the bill twice but again staff stood chatting. Luckily the bill was bang on our voucher value so we didn’t have to add to it. The venue itself is lovely but honestly avoid at all costs. Not worth the cost and service is just none existent.

Great location just off Regents Street and very tastefully fitted out. Lovely welcome from the team on arrival. The menu is very interesting and excellent value considering the portion sizes. The Welsh rarebit was superb as was the steak tartare starters. We had ravioli and celeriac carbonara as mains. Both were superb. The service was professional and yet relaxed. Overall a great experience and we'll certainly be returning in the future.

Came here with friends after hearing good things..the decor and ambience was lovely, however the service overshadowed the whole evening. There was a huge gap bteween starters and mains, when the mains arrived we had no cutlery, plates or drinks. Ordered wine and it was unavilabale. Asked if we wanted desert so asked to look at the menu, 10 minutes later the bill was placed on our table - before asking if there was anything we wanted from the menu..they needed the table back and coudn't offer an alternative. To top it all off, they put 13.5% service on the bill which they claimed was 'discretionary', but when we didn't pay it all they came back and told us there was money missing! A real shame, it has potential!

We were very disappointed with this restaurant. The watery and very tasteless prawn cocktail for £17.00!!! was surely a joke. Cod with an over powering mushroom sauce. Overpriced and underwhelming. The service was also well below the expectation of a restaurant charging these prices. Avoid.

Pretty clueless service - our waiter insisted on popping over to his screen after every person had ordered so ordering took an age. He still got it wrong - two of my friends dishes arrived with eggs (a £4 add on) that they didn’t order. My cocktail also didn’t arrive, we reminded them of this and halfway through drinking it when it did finally arrive, they accidentally sent another one (most high end restaurants would let you keep the additional cocktail in that event, to prevent waste, but of course this wasn’t mentioned here) Doesn’t live up to the hype and the “not avocado on toast” is so overpriced it’s quite laughable. A tiny slither of bread with a spread of crushed beans.

The hostess was polite and seated us quickly, the selection of drinks was decent and the staff were attentive but the evening was somewhat ruined by a waiter who maintained a blank and vacant expression as he insisted on serving us. He took ages to open a wine bottle and looked like he was doing it for the first time. He then managed to get some cork into the wine bottle which my date did not appreciate. The place has a good vibe and a lot of potential but they really need to be more discerning with staff.

Good food, great location. Nice ambience. Waiting staff generally great. However I would strongly recommend avoiding here and I will never be returning after the treatment I received from one member of staff last night. I have never been spoken to as appallingly as I was by a male member of staff working at the entrance (20/10/2013 at around 8.30pm). I will strongly advise everyone to avoid this establishment as a result. I had entered the restaurant from my table outside - visited the ladies - and upon returning to my seat - I was accosted by this member of staff who began haranguing me to say thank you. Repeatedly. In a saracastic manner. I assume he believed I had only entered to use the bathroom. His tone was atrocious and I will never be returning and advise everyone to avoid if you don't want to risk being spoken to like something on the bottom of someone's shoe.

The atmosphere and decor of this place is great, and I have been twice. The Caesar salad is great, however the mixed grill breakfast is an utter rip off. The hash brown was rubbish, just tasted like black pepper. The sausage and bacon were very average, and for £19 for a fry up I’d expect much better. Didn’t even have toast. Had some strange HP sauce type dip and that was it. Definitely do not recommend wasting your money on the mixed grill. Service was average.
