New Curry Centre in Barnet

We order from this establishment quite alot and myself and my mum Have never had any bad experience. I can honestly say that from the phone call to your door is outstanding the portions are adequate well persented on delivery ( no spillage) the whole team are polite well mannered

The Sunday buffet is on from 13.00 to 21.00 i arrived at 8.25 & was moaned at by a staff member told were to sit no choice at all were to sit & abruptly told here's your plate unbelievable shocking lack of customer service didn't make you feel welcome at all really disappointed & poor service a really bad experience i couldn't believe how bad it was to be honest they even refused the buffet to another guy behind me & made him order a takeaway & they told him to even come back absolutely shocking...

The Sunday buffet runs from 13.00 to 21.00 i arrived there at 8.25 pm i was treated very rudely with the guy moaning that it was late i was told were to sit & the guy begrudgingly shouted across here's your plate there was a guy behind me who wanted the buffet but he was rudely told no & was made to order a takeaway & told to come back for it i couldn't believe what i was seeing it was unbelievable no warmth or customer service at all it was shocking to be totally honest..

Simply a superb place to dine. My partner & I have visited at least 15 times & have never had a bad meal. Staff are attentive & accommodating. Highly recommended.

Ordered a takeaway from here after seeing the reviews which seemed great. However, when the food arrived it was a disappointment as the food was luke warm, the dishes we'd ordered lacked any real flavour! Could only taste the saltiness and the spiciness of the food, was expecting the food to be authentic with all the aromas coming through but sadly didn't meet our expectations so will not recommend or visit again.

We were really impressed with this restaurant. It’s spotlessly clean, very welcoming with really friendly staff. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. (I had king prawn balti and the prawns were perfectly cooked, which is a huge plus!) Pricing is fair, well worth a visit. Take away is also lovely tasty food!

Our local, never disappoints. Lovely food, nice staff and welcoming atmosphere. Dined in tonight with my family and a new born in pram . Staff were very accommodating ensuring the pram and baby had room and safe . The Sunday buffet is great value 👍. Lovely touch was the complimentary brandy as it was my birthday and served warmed as brandy should be but many places don’t . Take aways are always very good to .

Underwhelmed with the food small portions for the price and containers holding the curry’s need changing as when lifted out of the bag the seals broke and the hot sauce spilt on my sons legs and the furniture 😲

We arrived 5 mins before they officially opened, but doors were open, I was with my mother, who struggled to walk and stand for periods of time. The doors were open, and the man inside said no, you can't come in, not open yet. Anyway, we waited a few minutes outside in the cold when another man saw us outside and said, "Come in." Food was lovely, my mother had used this restaurant weekly for many, many years so wanted to go there. It was in memory of her late husband, and mum hadn't had an Indian meal in a while. Can not fault the food. It was lush!! Just don't turn up at 5.55pm wait till past 6pm 👍

Service was good. Dinner was nice. Plenty of choice on the menu. We had a chicken chat pure and a king prawn pure to start and I thought the size of the filling was too small for the size of the bread - also the Diet Coke we had tasted flat - otherwise it would have been 5 stars. I had a chicken balti and my husband had a meat Thali which is like a meze - a little bit of everything, it had meat bhuna, veg curry, rice, tikka and other bits in.

We decided to get a Indian takeaway. My wife had been there with her friend before and raved about how good the food they had there. We ordered a delivery. From the restaurant. The Sheela kebab hardly had any taste, very bland. My wife ordered Saag which ,again, hardly any taste to it. The Karai chicken I ordered tasted sweet. Not enough spice or salt, incidentally I asked for a hot one instead of medium as advertised. I did phone back the restaurant with feedback. I explained about the dishes were not up to expectation. The madras apparently, is their best selling curry. I beg to differ. And no one has complained about it. To be a great restaurant you need consistency in your dishes , which sadly is lacking in The New Curry Centre. They did offer to send the dishes freshly made but it would have been too late to eat. Safe to say I won’t be planning a visit back.

Absolutely fantastic. Great service and delicious food. Go on a Thursday for banquet night! £14.95 for starter, main, side and rice / bread. The chicken shashlik was sublime.

Have been hearing good things about New Curry Centre and its been there for a long time, so we gave it a try. We ordered the Platter for two for £29.95, Food Arrived within 45 mins as stated. Items missing from the Platter from the menu on their website. Called them and they hadn't updated the latest menu on their website, they've made major cut backs, they removed some items from the Platter, but kept the same price as above. Anyway, we got stuck into the food, and it was dreadful, not fresh, chicken wings were too chewy & overcooked, the rest of the dishes were of the same quality, poor and cold throughout. Would definitely not recommend a take away from this poorly run Curry Centre, very disappointed and a waste of money, poor customer services.

Pop in with a mate before going for a drink the meal was bland even though I ordered the narga curry witch said it was hot! It had no bite to it and was bland! I said to the waiter it was bland he said he could make it hotter? Not change it ? Just go and add some thing to it so it would not have been cooked properly! All so the prawn puri was not a puri was a small flat bread not puri witch is light and crispy I honestly think most restaurants don’t care what they send out or whether people come back strange but my be that’s why there are so many closings . Seems all the old family run restaurants have gone and it’s a few young chancers open up try so sell some spice muck and call it curry ! And while I’m having a rant there is to much on the menu can not be cooked fresh it just a base messed about with and called all sorts of made up names?

Food was shockingly not made that day, heated up probably with Chef Mike. Overpriced too in terms of quality. The gentleman serving us was pleasant though.

It was the highly clichéd dark and stormy Thursday evening when I went for a meal here, I arrived just after seven o'clock and was seated immediately, I was here to eat alone as my friend from the suburbs was actually sitting at another table with a group of her girlfriends on a girls'night out, I ordered the banquet night special,( basically a set meal ), consisting of a starter, a main course and a side all for £12.95,(very reasonable price), I chose a simple meal and had the vegetable samosas for my starter, nice and crispy, well filled and accompanied by a small salad, for my main course I had a chicken byrani which came with a vegetable curry and a plain naan bread, the byrani was excellent, well cooked and lightly crispy rice with a generous amount of chicken, the vegetable curry was tasty and the huge naan bread had been freshly toasted, I treated myself to a beer to wash it all down, the service was first class and very professional and prompt, the restaurant has a warm friendly atmosphere and on this night it was extremely busy, I was glad to find a restaurant that was happy to accommodate a single diner and I was given as much attention as the other diners and not treated like a wallflower like most restaurants do, although a long way from the city of London where I live, it was well worth the pilgrimage to Barnet, I will happily return to the new curry centre to enjoy the excellent food and warm atmosphere knowing I will return home well fed and all for a very reasonable price.

The buffet food for vegetarians tastes of little more than boiled vegetables. My husband had meat and thought the same about how little flavour was present.

A genuinely bizarre experience this evening. We ate in and were the only diners all evening. Almost unheard of on a Saturday night?! From the moment we sat down everything was a rush. I think the waiting staff had somewhere else to be as the customer service was non-existent. The food also left a lot to be desired, to say the least. Very poor indeed. Strangely, as we ate the main (quickly) we felt eyes on us to hurry up. This continued throughout the rest of the evening from both of the waiters. Every time I looked up from our conversation they were both looking over, eagerly wishing us to finish. Ordering Irish coffees a bit later on was almost a negotiation to have our order accepted. In the end they gave up with the charade and told us they were closing up at 10pm and to hurry up. One of the most surreal experiences I have ever witnessed. These guys must be doing something right because the restaurant was empty (apart from us) and they seemingly didn’t want our money either. Needless to say we will never return. No idea what income they are running this place on. I counted one walk-in and a couple of take-aways in the 90 minutes we were there.

Good local Indian restaurant. Usual range of dishes in a traditional looking environment. Table booked in advance for 4 people. Food was most enjoyable and fresh. Prices were very reasonable.Thumbs up and we shall come again

Over the last 15 years, I have been fortunate to come to New Curry Centre. The service and food is at a very high level, regardless of being a regular or not! They really so care for their guest/customers. The Sunday buffet is a FANTASTIC value for money and I would recommend this for everyone in all types of family and friend groups. Nice selection of wines and beers. The management really do pull out all the stops in making a fantastic experience. Very good. FYI, I like my hot curries and also my delicately spiced ones too. The vegetables dishes really are top class also. Best one around! And I am NOT a fake reviewer, I live in Barnet and feel this is the place for a non-judgemental amazing curry experience. The chefs are real curry makers!

After having a takeaway from here before, me and my partner both thought we would come.and have a sit in meal. We were sat down on the smallest table, then hadn't be asked for our order of drinks for at least 10 mins, let me add that we were the only two people in there after two couples had left. We were then asked for our order, we got our popadom starter but then waited for 45 mins. We had to leave and we never got our food. Very disappointed. They're more interested in their takeaways than the customers in their restaurant. Just to think with the amount of staff and no people sitting in the restaurant, you'd think it wouldn't be a long wait.

Lovely impulse trip to this restaurant. We turned up on the set menu Thursday day which did not dissappoint. The set menu includes a starter, main , veg dish and a bread ir rice. We were so pleasantly full on our meal. The staff are really helpful and welcoming. A revisit is a must.

Have used this restaurant a number of times for take away tonight i did order a chicken biryani asked for very mild when delivered it was so hot you could not eat it so went into the waste bin wont be using them again.

Having read the really good reviews we decided to give this a try. Sadly it did not live up to the reviews. Don't bother of you're not a fan of Anglicised bland curry.

Place was clean, a bit awkward to get pass to get to the toilets but if you can overlook that issue then it is worth having a dinner there. The food was very good with reasonable price tags. Will definitely go again!

Possibly the worst takeaway, lamb was like dogs meat the chicken was passable. Haven’t eating in for years as Atari is much better unfortunately they are closed due to COVID-19

SO RUDE Called on Xmas eve for a Takeaway for all the family. Was quite a big order so was well worth their time. The man on the phone was so rude. Didnt want to go over my order. Didnt want to tell me the price for the order as he claimed he was very busy. Never been spoken to like that in all my life. So so rude. Never go back again.

Went here today for the Sunday buffet. Went around 6 and it was pretty empty when we arrived but was a bit busier by the time we left. Food was nice however there were only 2 starters and around 5 mains to choose from so not a huge selection. The food was tasty but could have been a bit hotter. Still enjoyed the meal and it was a good price.

I was on holidays from Australia recently..Me & my family ordered takeaway * Lamb vindeloo HOT * 2 chicken tikka masala *1 Bombay potato *1 chicken jalfrazie *4 rice *3 plain naan *8 popadoms *4 dips * Bottle red Came to £60 !!! Value for money!! We pay more here in Australia 😕 all the dishes were spot on! The lamb vindeloo was my favourite, so hot & spicy! Definitely will return when I'm next in London/Barnet

Came in with my partner on Sunday for the Buffet option and the food had gone cold in the tins. As a result we moved the cold food onto our side plates as it was inedible. The naan was like a crisp and the bhaji's like rocks. It was only when a large family came in that hot food came out. Now I thought "problem solved" because we finally got some hot food and my initial issue was solved. I was later stunned when a waiter came over with glasses of water and said to me in an annoyed tone "why waste this food". And walked off before I could reply. My answer would have been because it was stone cold. I later realised more hot food had come out and I stood and went to the buffet and the same waiter made to walk up to me and watch what I was putting on my plate. It was one of the weirdest experiences ever. Guys if you are worried about your food margins don't do a buffet, and certainly don't treat your customers like they should feel guilty for eating from it. My first experience with this curry house is not a good one. The service was frankly shocking and passive aggressive. My partner and I are new to the area and we have already been to much better curry houses in Barnet. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Was originally planning to go to another Indian place, but noticed this one as I was walking along with my two companions. The atmosphere was perfect, the ambiance created by the music was really authentic. The customer service was excellent. I could not find a single flaw, the place had all the aesthetics of a traditional indian restaurant. The pricing was extremely cheap as it was a Sunday so it was only £9.50 for a buffet experience, so I did not have high expectactions, but as soon as I took my first bite of the rice and CURRY the flavours hit me. It was sooooo exquisite. The tandoori wings were absolutely perfect. Food-wise the restaurant was absolutely perfect. At the end of our stay we received hot wipes and chocolate palette cleansers. Beautiful service 5/5 for sure. Will be back for sure.

Delicious variety of curries on offer at affordable prices. Service and food more than met our expectations. Certainly worth a repeat visit.

We visited this place a few days a go, the food was amazing. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, I must say it is one of the best I have had. They also do a Sunday buffet which is very good value for money. £9.50 per person. We will most certainly be going again as the service and food are excellent.

Went a few weeks ago with my partner, we stood by the entrance waiting to be seated for 10 minutes. Staff made eye contact however quickly ignored us. Thankfully we took our business to another restaurant down the high street and had a lovely evening.

This is our favourite curry house. Staff are so friendly and the food is spot on! We go at least twice a month. Keep wanting to try something else, but the bhuna is so good! :)

We have been several times and this evening it was average. Food was not as spicy and tasty, and rather bland. Nan bread was average, pillau rice was boiled and not fried - which was not real pillau rice fried in ghee. Portions of vegetables of Sag and Okra very small and disappointing. The dish was not HALF filled!£20, most expensive wine brought to the table and charged.Sometimes this restaurant is better than this. Perhaps it was an off night?

Went on a Friday night, just after 10pm. Service was a disgrace. Showed to a table without a problem. But when food was brought out, server was clearly annoyed and said how he is usually home by now. Main courses came out and again, snips around the time (it was around 10.30). In the end, left after 2 or 3 mouthfuls from the main course (which was average compared to other local curry houses such as The Arati) purely because of the service which was the worst I have experienced and an utter disgrace. Will not be returning and instead will stick to the other local curry houses that service much better food with service that is actually welcoming.

We have been using this restaurant for curry deliveries for about ten years now and the food is consistently excellent and arrives hot and very quickly. Chose to eat in the restaurant for a change as it was a family member's birthday. The two waiting staff could not have done more to make us feel welcome and looked after - even producing a complimentary birthday cake with candle at the end of the meal - a total surprise! (Must have popped out to the nearby Tescos - so sweet!) Food also usual delicious fare and they managed to bring out extra quickly when we asked for a couple of additional dishes. Thank you New Curry Centre - we'll be back.

Took the family out for dinner and picked this marvellous place in Barnet. Will be returning very soon.

Out with my girls and fancied something different, this restaurant wasn’t far but thought it might be little inside but surprisingly it wasn’t small. Nicely decorated, greeted at the door and taken to our table. Food was really nice, the waiter was nice and friendly, we stayed longer than we needed but all in all was surprised so definitely going back.

I’ve ordered from the restaurant many times and also sat inside for my meals, a great takeaway restaurant with very good food, particularly the biriyani dishes. A warm and friendly atmosphere, suitable for all occasions with family or friends. The staff are very friendly also. 10/10

I went here with a few friends for dinner. The staff were very polite and friendly and the food was very flavoursome and not too pricey! Would definitely recommend!
