100% recommend, best buffet I’ve had in a while

Very disappointed..been so many times but the food is getting basic...Ice cream machine not working....cakes all dry used to have a good mixture.Mains was a bit cold ....not value for money at moment needs to raise its standards for this price..8 of us at £25 per head Inc drink.....

We travelled over from Bradford and brought my 11 year old vegetarian little sister with us. You have to pay prior to eating, no issue with this but I explained she is only 11 and she’s vegetarian and will only be having chips and egg fried rice as that’s all she likes and a few bits from the dessert section. Due to her being taller than the height allowance, she was not allowed to be charged as a child?? I strongly disagree height in a child can associate how much a child is eating compared to a full adult! As well as the fact the food she is getting consists of such little monetary value due to the fact it’s meat free. She had two course the first being a single plate of chips, egg fried rice, onion rings and cucumber. The second course being a few desserts available. It’s unreasonable and exclusive to vegetarian children (if normal children aren’t picky enough) and no common sense used with pricing. Complete waste of £21 for a £5 max amount of food eaten. Sadly do not want to return, massively money grabbing.

The food was fantastic and tasted very fresh with plenty of variety to choose from. But your front of house staff and staff in general really need to work on your customer service as they were extremely obnoxious. Manners cost nothing especially when your paying £21 per head for an all you can eat.

I often eat Chinese food from takeaways and restaurants wherever I travel. This buffet was excellent. Good quality and familiar dishes. I loved the Char Siu, Ribs, Wings, Beef dishes and the Crispy duck. It's a shame I was full after two plates. Salivating at the thought of the food. I would suggest you book a table in advance on weekends or expect to wait a little bit. Drinks had to be ordered at the bar but that was swift. Empty plates were removed quickly from the tables too. I'd recommend this buffet for an easy eat.

We were in the area for a show #disappointing sisters, The food was great, didn't enjoy queuing with people who hadn't booked but all was seated quickly, the soup was hot the curry was great there wasn't a single dish that wasn't refilled promptly I LOVED the dessert options! but everything was to an acceptable standard, given in was a Saturday night with a 21st and a 16th birthday the dirty plates were removed quickly, the toilets were perfectly cleaned, with that many people in they did a great job, tables were cleaned between people along with the floor, the glasses spotless, I look at some of the reviews and wonder if we ate in the same place!

felt like staff accused us of trying to take food home as soon as we got there, we did not even have a bag with us so not sure where we were going to put it, ordered a gin and tonic at the bar and because they pored a pink gin automatically they tried to make us take that over the drink we ordered even though they knew this was not what we ordered

A bit salty Overall is average!

The food was great, plenty of selection to choose from, went about 18:30 and wasn't to busy but got a lot busier as the evening went on, which was fine cos there are plenty of tables, the only thing I didn't like was the chairs, they weren't very comfy at all, but I would go again

There is not very much food selection for a buffet. Candy bar is all frozen sweets. Atmosphere there is very loud and staff keep banging plates and forks

Been a few times and always lovely but the last time we went the food was only Luke warm. We did tell the manager and he said he had checked it and it was warm. We went back and it was still Luke warm at best!

An "eat all you can" Chinese near to Xscape at Castleford. On entering you walk up to the bar and are asked what you want to drink and then charged for your these and your meal. You are then told a table number and you go find it. Having never eaten here it was quite confusing on entering and rather unwelcoming. There was a large selection of food although I would say it was mediocre. With regards to value for money, I'd say it was expensive, whilst a number of the other customers were making full use of the "all you can eat", and this shows, I'd rather not stuff out on por food so didn't actually eat that much. The place was busy, lots of groups celebrating birthdays etc, just not really my cup of tea.

Beautiful place, wonderful variety of food with an all you can eat buffet, it's a good idea to book ahead, it can get very busy

Went at around half 1 which is the perfect time to go, wasn't too busy, food was fresh and so lovely

Been many times. The food is always good. A self serve buffet with a wide variety of freshly cooked favourites.

Like a cattle market!! Kids running about while busy, 1 member of staff pushed past me and another member of staff ran over my foot with the food trolley and just looked at me as if I shouldn't have been in the food que. It's the only place I've ever known that you have to pay for the kids food by the height of the child!! It cost £90 odd for 2 adults, 1 x 13yr old and 1 x 9 Yr old and 2 drinks each, we went for my sisters birthday and they brought her cake then 15 mins later they fetched someone else's cake too!!!!!

Ample buffet spread, sweets not so great. Busy but quickly seated. Lovely.Jubbly.

All you can eat, exactly that! If you're going during a busy time like I did it can be very overwhelming, as kids sometimes don't enjoy busy scenarios. However I would like to say the food was available in all areas, some ABIT dry but the rest was awesome. Service was hard to get, but a friendly staff member did point out where the water is for our little girl who needs to have a drink after she drank her fruit shoot too quickly. The atmosphere was very busy none stop with the car park full and ques to get in. If you like all you can eat you must try this place. See what you think?

Been here countless times, they maintain the quality of foods they serve at buffet, even for a picky eater, there’s food to fancy. Dessert is good, although, the snacks/pastries can be better, somewhat dry

Nice buffet food that's tasty and decent quality. The staff work hard keeping the tables cleared and are polite. I would just say that because it gets so busy, it kinda feels like a fast food place, not a restaurant. I also feel its become quite pricey. Me, my daughter and my partner had an evening buffet and one drink each and it cost £72.

Woman on front desk is lovely and jolly! Some other male staff however need some customer service training! Food is OK on & off depending on what you have. Need a drink refill machine in my opinion instead of having to buy a new drink again. Desserts are bog standard.

Been here a few times now, really good for £20! Staff are quick with clearing dishes from tables when you’ve finished. Only thing I would say is I recommend getting a bit of food at a time, by the time you’re back at your table it can be cold, other than that, if you can never decide what to get from a takeaway, it’s definitely worth going here :)

The worst chinese iv ever been to . If the price and quality of food wasn't bad enough I was left with the worst case of the shitz for 24 hours which smelt exactly the same as the beef in black bean sauce .

Best and biggest buffet I've ever been to, food was piping hot and kept replenished, tables were cleared quickly and friendly service from staff, great desserts too, we'll be going regularly now we've found the place.

We eat here quite often as a family and enjoy the food every time. The happiness of the staff could be improved but the food is good quality for the price. Also bring my staff here as a treat every now and then and have just booked a table for 8 of us for tonight ,

Went on Bank Holiday Monday (today) at 5pm. It was busy, but the food was fresh and absolutely lovely! Plenty of choice and fresh food was being brought out all the time. The staff were quick at removing your empty plates. All round a very good visit!

Fantastic buffet...been a few times now. Best times to go are as soon as they open for obvious reasons. But to be honest it's that busy most food doesn't sit very long. Desert selection is a little underwhelming but the mains and starters are fantastic quality for a buffet. Will definitely be back

20/08/2024 Sharp 2 o’clock and desserts all gone. 6 of us. They said they won’t fill again since it’s closing 2.30 but still they have published on google that the buffet is open till 2.30 and they even told us when we were paying. Think it’s a waste of money cuz we couldn’t enjoy desserts. Really disappointed. Will not go again. Very poor customer service.

Very expensive for low standard chewy meets I also don't like fraud they sell seaweed but its salted cabbage I can tell I work in a restaurant trading standards and police need to visit

There is a good collection of starters, mains and desserts. Normally in buffet places the taste of food is not there but in this buffet place it has taste and quality. The staff are great too. Only downside is the customers around, feels like the type of people who come here have just come back from a holiday in Spain with men in their shorts and women in their low vest top with flipflops. A lot of chav customers. but I’m not here for the customers but for the food. And that’s what matters.

Staff is so friendly and polite. I feel so welcomed and comfortable thanks to that. The food is amazing. There is such an amazing variety that anyone would find something they would like. Of course , ice ice cream is the stealer hahaha.

Been before and found to be all good. Went a few weeks ago and all I can say is never again. Food was well below expectations and food cuts including no duck.

All you can eat,what a pleasurable experience I would definitely come here again with my sister Ang without a doubt you also pay for the meal when you go in to which they will ask " HOW MANY? follow these simple things and you will have a good time!!

Loved the beef dishes, beef curry, beef in oyster sauce, beef in black bean sauce? all lean and very tender, the rices and chips were great too, lots of variety and it all looked fresh. Some of the small items like samosas and spring rolls were a waste of time but I’d definitely go again 👍

Went here for my birthday. They managed to accommodate 21 people over two long tables, and were really hospitable throughout. We overstayed their usual timings, but they kindly allowed us to move to another part of the restaurant to continue to enjoy ourselves. The crispy duck was perfect. Drinks are paid for separately, and there were no free refills as I’ve had at similar places before, but overall it was such a positive experience.

So ive been a few time but seems to be going down hill a bit £3.20 for a j 2 0 is a bit steep. The prawns was over cooked the best dish in my opinion was the pork in blackbean sauce. My son went for the first time said he dont want to go again as found two shards of steel in the pulled pork.

Food was good, service, well there isn't any really you just pay as you go in then go help yourself, as for atmosphere if your gonna take your kids then teach them some respect and manners, had some little scrote of a kid trying to purposely stand on my foot because there scratty mum told him to do it all because I accidentally stepped on his when he pushed in between us waiting for food,good job she saw sense and sat back down 😉. Don't think il be going back, much nicer places to go 👌

Do not eat here!! Boy has place gone downhill. Visited Monday afternoon 27th May 2024. £43.90 just for the buffet for two adults which they take from you on entry., restaurant wasn’t at all busy like it used to be. Food was dry and undercooked, ordered some drinks which had to be paid for straight away and served to us in chipped glasses. Around our table the decor on the walls was all splashed with food matter and dirt which then made me take notice of the rest of the dirty surroundings, also I repaired wall behind the ice cream machine… the place needs a revamp and a good clean. The ladies and gents toilets omg they are dreadful, made me and my partner feel sick or maybe that was just the food as we were both ill the following day. Needs a visit by environmental health… if it got shut down again it could then be named New New Eastern Court

I haven't been here for a few years and was a bit concerned about some of the reviews. However, our experience was nothing like some of the descriptions on here, so I can only imagine that some people have a personal grievance, or find asking for what they want, challenging. I can understand that paying before you sit down, may be uncomfortable for some. However, I completely understand why they do that. It is so busy and customer turnover is swift, it makes sense. If you want extra drinks, you just go to the bar. The price is very fair. Essentially, you are getting a 2/3/4/5/6 (or whatever) course meal, for around £20. That's very reasonable these days. The choice of dishes is fantastic, and they are constantly being topped up. If you want something extra, you only need to ask. Just remember that when speaking to staff, English may not be their first language. If they seem rude, maybe it's just because they don't understand what you have said. Yorkshire dialect is not the easiest to understand. Overall, I would highly recommend. The food and service is fantastic 👌

Lunch menu is only 50% of main evening menu. But £12.99..night is £20.00 ish. But still plenty of choice.

Used to come all the time with my partner, we oay over £40 per time. They used to have a fully functioning ice cream machine but once it broke they never replaced it and still charge the same price. We used to spend loads coming here but won't be returning unless they replace the machine, it is what made this place good.

Have been to the buffet here several times now and every time it has been superb. A fantastic choice of food from soup, starters, mains and desserts. The staff are always attentive, clearing plates and making sure the food, cutlery, plates, etc are always available. It gets a bit manic at busy periods but the quality never suffers. 🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜

There was hardly any food out when we went. What was available was disgusting. The chicken was still pink with blood oozing out. Deserts were not available. Had to ask for them. Overall it wasn't a good experience. Will not be going back.

This is a hard place to review. We have been going there for years and the food can be lovely, but this time (1st April 2024) the food was not good. So dry and tasteless. We won't be going back for awhile, unfortunately.

Only decent member of staff was the lady who was behind the bar I went for birthday meal with 5 others we arrived at 8 there was hardly any choice of meals not even chow-miens or anything the chicken balls where pick put us off straight away the desert area was basically empty and food trays where also I mentioned to a youngish member of staff asking where half off the products were and he stated we don’t use half of the areas anymore which was fair to say due to Covid then I mentioned how there was hardly any food in the areas which were being used he said why should we cook more food when there isn’t many customers or put out more deserts or anything. So why did I have to pay 109 just for meals when there was no selection or any decent food out things that were available either too salty or just undercooked like the chicken balls. And stuff member was just rude making out I was in the wrong for asking if there was anything to be put out as I paid full for 6 people and yet there was hardly any options to choose from we was offered no discounted price as they refused to fill up anything or just because there was hardly any options so it was a waste of money because some people had one small plate and wasted it as chicken was pink (chicken ball) it was a waste of money as we didn’t even leave full as there was no food and we pre booked so they knew we was arriving I booked weeks ahead Iv emailed the place to discuss but maybe we just had an unlucky visit highly unsatisfied

Loved the new lay out, you may think it's pricey, I paid £49 for 2, with drinks, and it's all you can eat and eat and eat, and the food was lovely, and you have a kiddies food section too and dessert area, what's not to like

As per many previous reviews; paid on arrival and forced to pay full price for 2 and 4 year old (didn't even measure) after being sternly told that a smaller plate could not be offered and plate sharing with children was prohibited. As a party of 9, we were seated at a table with only 6 chairs and members of our party had to go to find the additional chairs. Food was ok; large selection but low quality and very salty. Staff were very busy and had very little regard for customer satisfaction. However, the custom shows this is a popular restaurant- there were around 40 people waiting to be seated as we were leaving. I would not choose to revisit but understand why do many people go- it's relatively cheap with a huge amount of food to choose from with no plate limit.
