Fantastic chippy. Came here for the first time a couple of nights ago as I’m in the neighbourhood visiting family and went back again the next night. It is a small place so if you don’t want to wait you can telephone in your orders ahead of time. Also note it’s cash only!

New owners I had crispy spring rolls, chicken fried rice and curry sauce. The crispy spring rolls were grease and soggy, the chicken fried rice was bland and cold, the curry was bright orange. I WILL NOT BE GO BACK AGAIN AWFUL

Had to wait ages to get served for fish and chips. More phone orders than they can handle, with more and more customers waiting for the simple things…. Fish and chips etc. Now for the food… Awful ! Only way I can describe it. The thinnest piece of cod (that’s what it was meant to be) I’ve ever had. Chips weren’t the best, and tasted like last nights warm ups. I usually give my cats a bit of fish as a treat. They both turned their noses up at it, so now I’m worried I’m going to be ill as it didn’t look very nice and was not at all tasty. Binned it all after a few mouthfuls.. not at all palatable. Cannot describe how poor this food was. Oh how this place is still in business I don’t know and Quite probably will be my last visit to this place, and would rather drive onto Castle St. and get a decent portion of chips, and a much nicer fish…. And if they’re closed, do without!

It's just changed ownership and whilst we did like it before, the food is a massive improvement. We've tried the Singapore Vermicelli - very spicy. Just like it's supposed to be. Tonight we had kung po, and again it was excellent. Recommended.

Best Chinese in the Edgeley area. Singapore vermachali and the Special Cashew Nut are fantastic. For a quick tea the Chicken Breast with half rice and chips with curry sauce..Beautiful...one note it's Cash Only

Stockport born and bred but now live in West Yorkshire - have searched far and wide round here and can say hands down New Garden is the best Chinese food I’ve ever had, wether in Stockport or beyond. I miss it so much. Nothing else compares.

I have ordered many times. The food is ALWAYS fantastic. Freshly made, tastes wonderful and great value for money. The staff are helpful when you order by phone and cheerful when you collect from the shop. No hesitation in recommending them to others . Many thanks X

I order from here a couple of time because it’s nearest to my home but I’ve had a couple not nice dishes from here and then never like to here any bad reviews they just start saying there food is right and don’t take any wrong for there food am sorry but people who own there own businesses should be understanding. One addition is not right. I don’t no why they can’t take blame for there actions this.isn’t an excuse not to apology for a customer which are in the right it’s appalling there behaviour towards there customers do you? I just think the handle things not very good. In a business manner 😡 there wasn’t any pictures because I threw the food straight into the bin before I want to put a review on, I had to contact the actual Chippy, which one of the book rude and very disrespectful

Their salt and pepper box is right up there with the best I have ever had. I would of uploaded a pic but unfortunately by the time I went to take a picture I had already destroyed it. It’s unbelievably fresh. You won’t be disappointed trust me. The other dishes are also banging.

Be careful ordering fish and chips. Ordered tonight and the fish was slimy. I phoned to tell them and they said that is because it is a fish called pandasia! Pandasia, what happened to cod and hake. No apology just an explanation they have crossed through cod on their menu by hand and they just sell 'fish'. What next goldfish 3. Surely this is against trading standards. They should tell you what fish they are serving.

Always top of the drawer Chinese food from here. I usually have the Beef Chow Mein which is always delicious. Don't do delivery or have website & it's worth noting that its cash only but none of these reason not to give it a try.

Most things are nice here but some are bad, like the chips & curry is great but the satay beef is this watery mess that doesn't taste of peanuts and is kind of like a sweeter black bean watery sauce mess? Most of the other things are ok on the menu, however most of the chinese sauces are generally too sweet. Stick to the chippy stuff, or the fried rices, or if you want chinese then go for curry or black bean sauces, because they aren't that bad overly sweet western chinese sauce. Shame it is cash only too!

This is a long term presence in the back streets of Edgeley and it presents a variety of Chinese and English food. I have eaten the Chinese food and it comes in a good sized helping and is nice

Absolutely disgusting! A special meal £6.20 and only what I could see in it is rise and 2 tiny pieces of pork . Soup was way too salty and tasted like it’s been there for a few days , 3 sous ended in a bin , spare ribs were dry hardly any meat on them , salt & pepper chicken was tasteless and soggy , my Kung po special had some odd things in it ... this meal also ended up in our bin .... never ever will by from this place again !!

Used to go to Long Fung but it has gone downhill since new ownership. Stumbled upon this place and so glad we did. Food has been excellent every single time. Loving the black pepper sauce.

Staff friendly and nice and always willing to help

We love the Chinese meals from here. Freshly made, not too greasy large portions. sometimes it's difficult to park outside, but you can find a space a few yards up the road usually. this is always our going to Chinese. It would be a million times better if they offered delivery but you can't have everything. I will still give it five stars just for the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff.

Never been disappointed by this place! Whether we’ve got Chinese, fish and chips or sausage and fish. And always for a great price!

Worst fish and chips I've ever eaten, period. Fish was dry and saturated in fat. The chips were floury and cold. Never again.
