Really excellent ‘pub grub’. We were staying in the village and it was just a 2 minute walk! The food was basic, but nonetheless delicious. We went both nights and had the Camembert starter, fish pie, beef lasagne, chicken burger, scampi and sticky toffee pudding. Service was incredibly friendly. I would highly recommend!

After a long walk, resulting in extremely muddy trousers, was made most welcome and appropriate searing arranged. Lovely lunch of a lamb casserole with a nice beer then followed by apple crumble, Three friends also very pleased with the meal and beer. Warm Pub in lovely village and with most hospitable hosts.

We stayed here for one night and felt genuinely welcomed. There are 4 rooms, you can access through the bar, or via the rear garden, which is pretty and onto which each chalet looks out onto. Our room was simple but stylish, had a thermostat to adjust the heating to our comfort, a kettle with choice of various hot drinks, as well as bottled water. A good sized bathroom with heated towel rail, big fluffy towels and quality complimentary toiletries. The pub has a relaxed & friendly atmosphere and as the menu was reasonably priced we (unusually!) treated ourselves to 3 courses ~ yummy cheesy garlic bread, my Steak was delicious & perfectly cooked ~ cut like butter and oh my ~ the home baked Crumble to finish ~ Good Beer too! Breakfast was a choice of cereals and good quality fruit juices, toast, tea/coffee and Full English ~ all included in the room rate, great value ~ how do they do that?? All credit & many thanks to Nicky for her wonderful hosting & her husband for cooking the most delicious food. Regret we live too far away to become regulars, but will recommend and hope to return at a later date.

What an excellent find. We arrived today to stay in a local AIRBNB, two bed cottage, Scrumpy Cottage, another excellent review to come, and The New Inn is a 100 yard walk. “Let’s give it a go first night, we thought.” We weren’t disappointed. A warm welcome followed by excellent vegetable and beef lasagnas in plentiful proportions accompanied by a fine bottle of red. A varied menu offers a range of starters and main courses, good wholesome pub food with a few specials on offer. All dishes coming out of the kitchen looked really yummy. The Inn is dog friendly so our two Norfolk Terriers were welcome and both sat quietly at our feet during dinner. I have to say a great find and we intend to go back before we leave. I want to try the chicken korma. Comfortable welcoming setting and decor inside. Two main courses, onion rings, a bottle of red and with a tip, all for £50.00. Thank you.

We came here for a meal last eve, 18 July ‘21. We chose to sit outside as it was very warm and found they have a lovely beer garden. We liked the menu and our food was very good (2 roasts and 1 cod and chips). The friendly attentive waitress added to the enjoyable experience and is worth mentioning, as this often seems to be lacking in a lot of places.

Lovely to find vegetarian options where more thought had been given to it than just battered haloumi or Caesar salad! Plenty of really good none vege options too! We returned 3 times during our holiday as the staff and locals were all so friendly and welcoming. A gem of a perfect English pub, well worth a visit!

Had decided to stroll around this pretty village and have a lunchtime beer. We were impressed with the Timothy Taylor and Guinness on draught. In these covid times many places don't seem to keep too many draught beers and I understand why but he did enjoy his Guinness. Excellent table service. We weren't particularly hungry but decided to just look at the menu. Great choice and my husband loves a fish pie. The food was perfect. Nicely cooked vegetables. My chicken in a stilton sauce was a good sized breast. They seemed to have a good takeaway service as we overheard orders being made on the phone. Dog friendly but the most impressive thing their dog was not in the public area but we heard it just a couple of times and the landlady asked if we minded dogs after we had eaten. We do not have a dog but were happy to have the company of this well behaved one. I really recommend this restaurant. I believe they do have rooms too

Really nice little cafe at the wonderful Ferne Animal sanctuary. Great service and a really nice afternoon tea. You get a nice sandwich of your choice (including fish finger sandwich) with a few crisps and small salad, fresh scone with Jam and cream. Plus a nice tea or coffee. Parents been twice in 2 weeks and will be going back again. Please come and support this great cafe and great charity. (Update - parents have now been 5 times and love it) Look out for special offers on groupon.

After wanting to visit Kinori for years, I finally had the chance in November 2024 and WOW did it live up. The food, service and atmosphere was 💯 We loved the explanation/background story at the beginning, and the fact it was just Hideki cooking, and his son serving - a true family affair. The portions and food were up there with some of the best Japanese (with a Somerset twist) food ive had. The value for money, and BYO concept is also ridiculously good value for money. Cannot wait to visit again.

A wonderfully friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Bright and spotlessly clean. A wonderful wide variety of light bites, cakes and breakfasts . Specials board changes regularly. Great coffee. We love meeting family here and all our individual needs are always well catered for. Highly recommended.
