New Mandarin House in Craigavon

We went on a very busy evening and were seated within minutes, very friendly staff and had our food within half an hr of ordering, considering the amount of phone orders they were getting I was more than happy with the service. They apologised for the length of time it took for us to recieve our food but it wasn't an issue for me as I have waited longer in other places. Food was lovely and very reasonably priced, would definitely recommend and I will definitely be back 😁

On NYE we had a first class meal out with friends. The staff were so friendly and the food was amazing. Would highly recommend this Chinese restaurant- 5 ⭐️

Been coming here for years when I visit from Australia. Love the salted chilli beef and Curry Beef. Good food and nice atmosphere. The best Beef and black Bean and Salted chilli beef and young chow fried rice. The best Chinese food in town by a mile.

This is our go-to Chinese and has been for the past 20 years. The food is absolutely delicious, good portion size and excellent flavour. Lovely place to sit and have a family meal, and takeaway equally good.

The quality of food is out of this world and easily the best Chinese I’ve had! Easily the best Chinese in the country and can’t recommend enough! Nice for takeaway but even better to sit in :)

Our favourite Chinese restaurant by long way. The food is always so full of flavour, it never disappoints. Our Saturday night takeaway has been a firm favourite for years. I would highly recommend.

at the beginning, the Chinese lady who was standing at the reception shouted at the waitress that we turned up the heater, which was standing on the floor, at the table. the food was too salty, the vegetables were hard, the nuts were not cooked as if they had just been taken out of a package (ordered chicken cashew nuts). the spring rolls were very poorly made, only cabbage inside (3 spring rolls for 6.95... a nightmare). coffee, a small cup, for over 5 pounds. the price was like for food in a 4-star hotel. I do not recommend visiting, the price is not worth the food

This place is a gem. It is really like the sit in Mandarin restaurants which were about NI years ago. The food was great and my Guinness was served perfect. The owner is lovely and attentive. Would highly recommend this wee place!

Came in at 7:00pm, ordered by 7:15, starter arrived by 8:00, mains arrived by 9:00. Staff really nice but for a cheap and easy meal 2 and a half hours is a long time

This is honestly the nicest Chinese food I have tasted in a long time. The waitress was very attentive, and made sure we were looked after. I visited with my wife and 2 kids on a Saturday night and there was a few other families in at the same time. The food was absolutely beautiful. I had the sizzling satay chicken and my wife had sweet and sour chicken. I will definitely be travelling back from Dungannon again to this restaurant. It was also great value for money.

The food here was gorgeous. Service was also great, with very attentive staff. Unfortunately our chips never arrived, but the lady was kind enough to take them off our bill. The interior was nice but was in need of some maintenece in places.

This is the best wee hidden gem of a Chinese in portadown..I moved Belfast 20 years ago and when I go out for Chinese I go here every time wee want go and sit in for food..very good quality food and very tasty...I recommend here very much..😀

Never had a bad experience in the New Mandarin House. Always friendly service and very tasty food! Great, relaxed atmosphere. Would highly recommend for a good feed and a nice chilled meal out!

Place was old & dated heaters sitting in several places in restaurant it was cold. Took near 1 hour for our starters to come & place wasn't busy. Maim meal took another 20 minutes after starters salted chilli chips were coated in an orange seasoning horrible rice was nice deff would not return in a hurry.

Visited on a Thursday night and the restaurant was very busy. Was originally going to go for Chinese food but they had 19oz sizzling sirloin steaks on the menu and my wife and I couldn't resist. So glad we did as the steaks were massive and very tender, apparently from Knox's butcher next door, which I wouldn't doubt due to the quality. Included were chips, mushrooms, onions and peas if desired and side of pepper sauce or gravy. Great steak and trimmings for around £30. Highly recommended, as the service was excellent as usual.

Price is soo good for the portion sizes as they are quite big, food has so much flavour and is absolutely wonderful, the woman serving is so lovely and polite, place is such a lovely atmosphere aswell with such nice decor and the service was accommodating and quick as soon as entering we were brought to table and had a few mins to see what we would like to order, its such a lovely place and good for wee dates and family outings, definitely recommend

Waited 45 mins for a take away. £20 for tasteless, salty extremely greasy & small portion. Has really gone down hill. Portadown is in desperate need of a good Asian/Chinese restaurant again.

You cannot find a better Chinese restaurant in Portadown or Northern Ireland i'd say. Everything is made fresh and the service is second to none. I moved from Portadown several years ago and still make it a point to visit from Belfast when I can. It's just the best.

The New Mandarin House is the best Chinese restaurant for miles around. Always love coming here! The service is superb, staff are lovely and so helpful and the food is delicious. We always make a point of stopping in when we're in Portadown, and would highly recommend to anyone.

Great steaks but everything else was subpar, cheap overcooked rice, overcooked chips and nothing was seasoned.

Order took too long... we were waiting for 40 minutes... my food was swimming in oil and no side orders are included. Didn't taste like the thing I ordered.. it tasted like spoilt milk and why cheese?

Service is shocking, atmosphere of a morgue. The woman who runs it is devoid of a personality and completely rude. Food is ok but hit and miss. Be prepared to wait an hour for your starters. Theyre too tight to employ people or the ones who did work here have left. Old and dusty, place is dirty and she has the cheek to ask you to anibac when you come in. Place needs ripped out and refurbed. Like a bad 80s flashback with tacky chinese antiques.

Food is outstanding. Beef chow mean is to dye for as are the salted chilli ribs. 10 out of 10

Haven't been to the New Mandarin House since lockdown started in 2020. It was a spur of the moment to go out and I must say well worth it. Usually I woukd eat Chinese food but on this occasion I wanted to try the Fillet Steak. I was not disappointed. It came with chips , mushrooms, peas and onions and the most beautiful gravy. My steak was cooked to perfection and I woukd go as far as to say it's the best I have had in a very long time. Absolutely delicious.

Need I say more food was good staff 🙁 ordered a starter and a main to share main came first then the starters when I said I didn't want starter the staff member wasn't very polite never again

For my money the best Chinese restaurant in NI. I moved to Belfast over the a decade ago and I still have to come here every few months. Nothing else comes close.

Can be pricey compared to others but some things on the menu are excellent. Good place to sit-in, would usually go elsewhere for take-out.

Arrived 22.20 made an order for take away and was told to leave at 22.45 without our order was told we never made an order by the same person that took it.

Sizzling CHOW MAIN... huge and tasty portion.

We went to New Mandarin House Portadown for our Friday evening dinner. The sit down restaurant was very quiet however the carry out meals were going ding dust. We arrived at 6.45pm, our order was taken promptly but our started didn't arrive until 7.15pm. The places were taken away at around 7.25 and at 7.45 we decided to leave after only having a jug of water and our starter. We watched a lady order a carry out meal around 25 minutes after we ordered our sit in meal and when she received her meal before ours we left only paying for our starter and 1 beer my wife had. I would never recommend this Chinese restaurant to anyone after sitting for almost 1 hour in a cold outdated restaurant. Surely sit in patrons should be served before carry out customers as they are paying extra for the sit in service. The manager came out from wherever she was hiding to say our main meal was ready but I refused to accept it and paid for what we had and left. Other customers who had come in as we were arguing with the manager about us not accepting the late service of our meal also left as they didn't want to wait an hour for their meal either.
