Novotel London Stansted Airport Hotel in Uttlesford

We stayed at this hotel the day of returning to the UK. On arrival at the hotel, again we were greeted from a lovely young lady and Otis was there and remembered us. The lady booked us a table in the restaurant. As dinner was booked for 7.45pm, we decided to have our usual starters on arrival in the bar. Again the prawns were amazing. On arrival at 7.45 for our table, we were greeted by a lovely lady (we found out later that her name was Zara) The man who took our order had served us two years ago and we knew his service was good. I was a bit dubious in ordering because the last two years there was a problem with my meal ( the first visit lasgane was cold, last year my steak come up with balsamic vinegar all over the plate). But, we were hungry and wanted to finish our holiday with a nice meal. A young man (later found out he was called Tom) and a young girl brought over our food. My husband had burger, which looked really good. My lasgane was absolutely covered in parmesan cheese, which is an extra that you are usually offered in restaurants. I refused to eat it as I do not like parmesan cheese and it should have been offered. Tom and the young girl didn't know what to do and said that they would take it back to kitchen to see what could be done. Also, i refused to eat my fries as they were to accompany my lasgane. The first waiter came over to see what problem was, he went away and returned to say they were cooking a fresh lasgane with fries. My husband ate on his own. Zara came over. She was very apologetic and told us that Tom had told her i was refusing to eat it. She said that the meal and drinks were on the management as a mark of apology. She was nice. We thought she was a manager because of the way she handled the situation. She said she was a supervisor. She came over to check on us a couple of times with more apologies. As she had solved the issue, we were ok. But still very unhappy that something had gone wring for third year on the trot. And yet again, my husband had to eat on his own. We were never offered anything for the previous mistakes. Apart from Zara this time, which we thank her. We advised Zara that for our first night at the hotel (25th September) poor Tom was the only one running food in the bar. We said how well he had done and felt sorry for him. She said she would look into that as he shouldn't have been on his own. We are travelling the same time next year and always like to stay in an airport hotel. We want to stay here again, but we are worried that the food will go wrong again.

Lovely evening meal. Great menu choice and relaxed atmosphere. Penang Chicken Curry and Fish and Chips with Mushy Peas very tasty. Excellent service from our waiter “Little Tom”

I had a wonderful stay here for 9nights where I had this wonderful couscous salad for dinner with garlic bread . It is so yummy and healthy and filling I loved it

Dinner at the restaurant this evening was lovely. The food was fresh and well prepared. Prices are acceptable as chef does not skimp on portion sizes but you’re not overfaced either. Dimitar was our waiter this evening and was attentive and made us feel welcome. Nothing was to much trouble for him. He is a credit to the hotel. Thank you all at Novotel for a memorable start to my holiday for a special birthday.

An excellent meal, and served by Dimitri who looked after us throughout. He deserves a mention due to his enthusiasm and courteous manner.

A la fois près et loin de l aéroport, obligés de prendre la navette de l hôtel si vous êtes à pieds, 4£ par personne l aller ce qui reste cher je trouve. Le personnel ne parle pas français malgré ce que dit le site, néanmoins ils sont très aimables et patients. Les chambres sont spacieuses et bien insonorisés. Le restaurant est correct mais sans plus. Les salades césar sont sans poulet... petit déjeuner copieux et variés.

Stayed for 3 nights, all the bar staff and wait staff were lovely - friendly and helpful. Food was all fresh cooked and tables were cleared quickly.

Good location, left car for 2 weeks stayed one night on return, room cold could not get any heat at all. Breakfast which was extra was disgusting, neither my wife or myself could get a fork into the bacon, sausage skin was tough , everything was cold which shouldn’t have been as we went in dining room around 6.30 am so should have been fresh. Drink prices were unbelievable , so expensive, it’s hardly the Ritz, which we have stayed in and price of drink was cheaper there . Would probably stay again as convenient but wouldn’t eat or drink anything. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly

This is perfect for an overnight stay before jetting off on your holidays - looks lovely - comfortable rooms although it was really chilly and no matter what we did to the heating it made no difference the whole hotel was quite cool, especially reception. We had a nice meal the evening we arrived, staff were friendly and lots of parking - only negatives were the coolness generally I do realise it’s January but a little more warmth would be nice and breakfast the next day was equally cool and not very hot. But saying this I would use again for convenience and bed was comfy

Amazing service, extremely friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere! We stayed for 1 night and were pleasantly surprised with our experience in the restaurant during the evening. The staff were lovely and couldn't have been more friendly, helpful and accommodating. The menu is British pub food, with a kids' menu also. My husband and I and our two young girls had a lovely time, and will definitely go back if we have the opportunity.

This was our 4th visit this year as always, everything was fantastic. You're greeted by happy reception staff. Juanita is a delightful young woman and so smiley, our rooms were comfortable just a little bit stinky though but fine when we opened the window. Thank you to vlad and Zara for being there when we needed filling up at the bar, it was a bit quieter than usual which was nice, We had breakfast which was amazing with so much choice and chef gem greeted us with an omelette each which were very nice and gave us the recipe for the muesli mixture. We can't wait for our stay again.

Delicious food and exceptional service from James the waiter. Made a wonderful start to our holiday, a pleasure to visit there.

We stopped over as we were driving to central London form Scotland and this was a decent distance for us. Food at night was a couple of steaks, and they were ok, barman didn't know how to open the wine with a wine waiter corkscrew, which was odd. Wine wasn't great and wasn't cheap either. £80 for two steaks and a bottle of not very good wine. Breakfast was a buffet style thing, like other hotel chains, was a bit blah, the sausages were pretty bad. Didn't want to finish what little we picked up.

We had a lovely meal and the service from Dimitar was great. He looked after us well and was very attentive. We'll be back on our next holiday.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing. We felt so comfortable and our waiter Dimitar was very professional, but also incredibly kind and attentive. Delicious food, great service, warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Used the restaurant during an overnight stay. Even though it was very busy the staff were superb. The cannelloni and the Thai Green chicken curry were delicious, as were the 2 desserts we had, the cheesecake and the chocolate fudge cake. The manager even knocked our drinks off the bill due to a delay with the card machine and the till in ordering the drinks. A big thanks to all the staff in reception and the restaurant for making our stay so pleasant. Will definitely use this again.

During my stay I ve been served by Dimitar on dinner a lot of times and I’ve been impressed by his professionalism and attitude …he is Really high customer oriented , I did really appreciate his good joob , Highly satisfied

The staff were very efficient, friendly, our server Luis was very polite, ensuring all our meals were served promptly. Food was very hot and tasty. Very plesent hotel to stay, for an early morning flight.

I often stay at this hotel, but this evening I did something different. I had a couple of drinks and ate in the bar. Gammon steak, while not as thick as some came in 150% on size. Great and top quality chips..... Drinks good - but the star of the show was Emma behind the bar. A smile, a crack and banter for everyone and not fazed when the traffic was busy.

The serving sizes here aren't wonderful, but they're good enough, and the quality of the food is very good. The restaurant is thoughtfully designed to feel modern and allow small tables as well as large groups.

A very enjoyable meal before our skiing trip to Italy. The burgers, Thai green chicken and Lasagne were delicious. Dimitar our waiter was wonderful and made some excellent recommendations.

Dimitar is a wonderful waiter. The food is very nice and service is very quick. The hotel is quite isolated so you do not really have much choice, but I was not disappointed.

Lasagne was tasty and not bad for airport hotel food which is often expensive and not that great. Did not have to book just popped by for a drinks and food.
