I love this place so much, I have tried the signature malatang, curry laksa, and peanut dry mix. They were all unique tasting and delicious. The spices come through beautifully in the broth. The staff are all very kind and friendly, and there are instructions on the walls of the restaurant on how to prepare your bowl. The decor is so beautiful. I also love the variety of ingredients you get to chose from when adding noodles, veggies, tofu or meat. I can't recommend this place enough.

Food as always has been great!! We generally have the Tongkatsu malatang and the dry Mala. The starters are great too. There is a wide range of meat and veg options. Great service and a good atmosphere.

Very tasty and a lovely concept for quick and easy hotpot. Tonkotsu broth was really well done.

Very nice and worth the money, the choice was very wide and yummy. Good drink selection and sauces too, there is no extra charge with using the sauces and you can take away any leftovers too which is good. The only bit of feedback is having bigger spoons for the broth but apart from that, everything was amazing.

This is the 2nd time that my friend and I have visited this restaurant. Both times have been worth it. The first was at lunch and we had the smaller lunch menu, you choose from a small selection card and it is brought to you...the other option is a weighing system - you choose your items from the fridges, placing them into a bowl with a set of tongues and paying for the weight and then the broth you want. The selection of meat, veg, noodles and other items is plentiful, the condiments table - to customise your broth - is very good. The staff are lovely and the chefs are very quick with your food (the soup pork dumplings are a must). Absolutely delicious, well worth a visit every time.

The ingredients are fresh, the ingredients are complete, the atmosphere is good, and the price is reasonable. I ate it with my friends. My friend thought it was delicious. I think it can be improved. A stronger soup base would suit my taste.

So this has been my go to restaurant for as long as I can remember. Sadly this new menu does not work for me. Losing the sushi side has meant its now somewhere ill likely not return to. Also aside from the Malatang side it just seems to have a very very limited menu. Had the build your own bowl and its so over priced and just not worth the journey. Hate to rate somewhere I love so low.

La calidad de la comida, la gran relación calidad-precio y buen ambiente. Estaba muy triste al ver que tenía un nuevo menú / concepto. Para mí, elegir mis propios ingredientes y elegir una salsa era abrumador. La comida estaba bien, pero no es algo que me gustaría tener de nuevo. Pensé que era caro para lo que comí también (fui bastante modesto con mis elecciones y el precio final fue de aproximadamente £ 13 por plato). Ciertamente no estaba lleno después de comer aquí. A los niños les gusta la novedad, pero no volveré. Además, para los vegetarianos no había mucha opción (principalmente hongos, repollo y tofu). Probaré la versión de Eldon Square ya que creo que tienen algo del menú anterior. El servicio sin embargo era bueno como de costumbre.

Very disappointing visit a couple of weeks ago. Nudo has been my favourite restaurant in Newcastle for the past 10 years. The quality of the food, the great value and good ambience. I was very sad to see it had a new menu/concept. For me, picking my own ingredients and choosing a sauce was underwhelming. The food was fine, but not something I would want to have again. I thought it was expensive for what I ate as well. Kids like the novelty, but I won't be coming back. I'll try the Eldon Square version as I believe they have some of the previous menu.

I've always walked by this place curiously and wondered what it was like inside, until today! Ducked my head in and realized it is an restaurant serving authentic malatang through sheer providence. I have wanted to try malatang for ages- and it was incredible! Even my picky little sister loved the liberty of being able to choose the ingredients that go into her bowl at the ingredients station. Very creative and fun concept. The staff were enthusiastic and lovely, making the atmosphere all around great for a lunch spent in discovery. If you're ever in a curious mood and have gotten tired of wondering while walking past Nudo Malatang, I recommend going inside!

Came in blind to Malatang and came out liking it. The best way to describe it would be a make your own hotpot, you pick whatever ingredients you want and are charged £3.25 per 100g so go crazy. It really is what you make of it so pick what you love and choose a soup base to go with it and let the chef do the rest.

Get what you want so you know what you get. Quick service for people on the rush. Very tasty soup. There's a condiment station where you can add more flavour for you soup.

Food absolutely lovely! Very helpful staff! Had Malatang Soup with Tom Yum Broth, I like how you can choose what you want and there is a lot of choice! The condiment station was great too, so I could add more flavour to the soup. We will be back!

This is a traditional Chinese MaLaTang restaurant. Very good taste, fresh ingredients and delightful service. So just pick what you like and they gonna bring the fest to you :)

Hemos estado en Nudo Noodle House muchas veces a lo largo de los años y lo disfrutamos. Con este gran nuevo cambio estábamos deseosos de darle una oportunidad. Desafortunadamente fue una decepción. La idea es genial, el lugar es agradable y el personal muy bueno también. Pero la comida fue un fracaso. Teníamos el caldo Tonkotsu, uno de nuestros favoritos para el Ramen de Cerdo, pero era muy débil y diluido en comparación con otros lugares - tuvimos que agregar mucha soja, aceite de sésamo y otros condimentos para obtener un poco de sabor. El área para seleccionar los ingredientes es muy pequeña y, por lo tanto, incluso cuando está moderadamente ocupado, es un poco molesto tratar de llegar a ellos. Buen lugar si tienes antojo de Malatang caliente / sopa china. La experiencia fue bastante buena en general, rápido para sentarse y la comida llegó rápido con un servicio amable. Me gustó mucho la comida. Desventajas: Nada me lo explicaron, fue la primera vez que probé Malatang. Te dan ollas masivas para escoger tus ingredientes y realmente no sabía el tamaño de la sopa que iba a recibir. Añadí muchas verduras y la sopa terminó saliendo bastante cara para lo que era. Habría sido bueno tener una olla del mismo tamaño que su plato de comida para que pueda calibrar esto mejor. Nunca me dijeron que pudieras pesar a medias para comprobar lo que desearía haber hecho, escuché a alguien más que me dijo esto al final. La sopa salió muy cara como £ 23 Anteriormente la sopa que me gustaba en Nudo era de 12 libras. 50, así que es casi el doble del precio por lo que se sentía como la misma porción. En general fue muy agradable, pero salió £ 45 para 2 sopas y una coca de dieta que se sentía muy caro para lo que era.

Absolutely lovely. Went in for the first time tonight and everything was beautiful. The food was gorgeous and our server, Stephanie was wonderful x definitely coming back!

Yum yum yum 😋🤤. Hands down best food. You get a tub to make a selection of your vegetable and meat of choice. Which gets weighed at the counter. Select the broth and drink.Once payment is made. You can select your chosen condiments and wait for the boiled fresh food to come to your table. Slurp and enjoy.

Got recommend this place by and friend and it did not disappoint. Honestly one of the best meals I've ever had. Service was amazing and friendly price was very very reasonable for the portion sizes and please please try the pork soup dumplings 11/10

It was a good experience, everything was great.

We've been to Nudo Noodle House many times over the years and enjoyed it. With this new change we were keen to give it a go. Unfortunately it was a disappointment. The idea is great, the place nice and the staff very good too. But the food was a let down. We had the Tonkotsu broth, one of our favourites for Pork Ramen but it was very weak and watered down compared to other places - we had to add a lot of soy, sesame oil and other condiments to get some flavour. The area for selecting the ingredients is very small and so even when moderately busy it's a bit of a pain trying to get to them. The scales for checking the cost are by the till - with a queue there and the staff also using them, we couldn't easily get to check and weigh our stuff as we went along. Another set of scales would help. The bowls were shallow metal, and rather than soup ladles we were given small metal spoons. These would slip into the bowl if left for a moment along the side (soup ladles have lips on the end for this reason). They were so small too that it was frustrating getting the liquid from bowl to mouth. Perhaps partly on me as a customer, but I'm not a chef. So I selected ingredients I like individually, but they didn't quite work together (a better Tonkotsu would have helped there though). When I eat out, I pay an expert - a chef - to do the work for me as they know best. It was fun I'll admit, but at the end of the day the food was a let down. We'll stick with the related Umai Mi restaurant from now on, as some of the Nudo staff are there, also many of the old Nudo dishes.

What a scam, such expensive price with minimal ingredients. Single person portion for whooping £21. Disgusting.

(I paid £22.94) ⭐️There are plenty of dietary restriction friendly options (vegan broth & wide selection of veg toppings) additionally any allergen present foods were noted on the menu ✅Has a large variety of meat, seafood and veggie ✅Serving sizes were offered as a guide at the toppings station, which helps if you’re calculating your end cost ❌ I chose multiple different types of mushrooms but found they had a rubbery texture once cooked, the only exception were the small ball shaped, shiitake or button mushrooms, not 100% sure which they were. ❤️I would recommend Nudo Malatang to a friend.

The first thing that surprises me is that we can eat such Malatang in the northeast of UK. Because I know that there are many such shops in London or Manchester City. According to my personal understanding, this is not the traditional malatang that I knew when I was a child, but many of my friends told me this is a new modern style malatang, which is very popular not only in China and Asia, but also in many countries and cities around the world. After my first trial, not only myself, my kids all love it 🥰👍it’s quite fun, we can choose what we want for chef to cook for us 🤪 Of course, need to do a good control while picking.

The restaurant’s menu has recently been updated and the food is amazing. Authentic malatang, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful (helps if it’s your first time eating malatang) and the pricing is incredibly reasonable. Will 100% come back!

I used to like the old one. I went last week and honestly, quite disappointed. No shushi anymore. The dishes are completely different. It is a shame, because I used to love it.

Loved nudos noodle house for years, they've just changed the menu with the malatang update and it's a ridiculous fall from grace. It's ran like a street food place not a restaurant. Paid £12 for this bowl but seems the ingredients cost less than 50p. Pork was so chewy and flavourless with so much fat on it knocked me sick, only managed some noodles and greens. Still fighting it coming back up.

We came for my daughters birthday. The food was incredible and thr staff were brilliant too! So friendly and helpful. One of our party was diabetic and they answered all the questions about thr portion size etc so that the medicine dosage would be correct before he ate. My favourite is the crispy beef in the tangy bbq sauce! Will definitely be back!

Nice venue with good food, prompt service and decent prices. We had Chicken Szechuan Udon and Lamb Satay with a side of Edemame. Lots of other options caught our eye. A return visit on the cards.

We ordered mapo tofu and tonkotsu ramen(the £12.50 one). I’ve been disappointed by Japanese restaurants in NCL, but the ramen here was actually quite good. Mapo tofu is unique but as good as Sky Chinese Cuisine and Chilli Padi’s, love it. Staff are very sweet too.

Had tea here as it was the closest Chinese to my hotel with a work colleague. As we were both on expenses the restaurant had no problem providing an individual bill for each of us. We shared deep fried chicken, pork dumplings and mini beef ribs for starters - they were all delicious !. The Mini Beef ribs melted in my mouth, the dumplings were plump and delicious and the deep fried chicken was delighful. I had spicy beef with flattened noodles for my main , the beef was spicy (but not to much) and the noodles were cooked to perfection.

First time visitor and I am glad I visited. I had deep fried chicken, beef ribs and dumplings (last 2 shared) and they were delightful 😊. For mains I had spicy beef with flat noodles. The meal was lovely and spicy but not to hot. The service was excellent, the food delightful and the food was priced exceptionally well. I would recommend this as somewhere to come for a meal 😋

Korean Fried Chicken was ok but both the main meals were very oily, bit bland and consisted mostly of bland noodles. Flavours were very basic and had stomach cramps in the afteenoon. Not recommended.

So my daughters started liking supermarket sushi and my husband visited this place a while ago with friends and said we needed to take her to try proper sushi. I was a bit skeptical about price and thinking what if she didn't enjoy it. I couldn't have been more wrong. We visited today, walked in and asked for a table for 3, seated very quickly at a lovely table. Inside is nicely decorated with plenty of space. The staff we welcoming and friendly. We looked through the massive menu choice and decided to order 2 large sushi trays, some shanghi and rice dumplings and a noodle soup bowl. We were told the dumplings take a little longer to cook, which was fine by us. Food didn't take very long to arrive and when it was put on the table it looked soo good. Very fresh and well presented. It all tasted delicious. Our daughter enjoyed the chopsticks and worked her way through trying a bit of everything. We were all so full by the end but felt that the quality of the food was very good. I'm so impressed and will certainly go back to sample other items off the large menu. My daughter was also very happy to have bubble tea with her meal. Highly recommended this place.

Service was great, it‘s just that the food wasn’t great at all. It was greasy, lacked taste and it was overall very bland and underwhelming. We had two vegetarian noodle dishes and the glutinous rice dumplings, wouldn’t come back here again.

Delivery estimate changed twice during preparation - great quality food when it arrived (1hr after ordering) but would rather get a more realistic initial estimate to manage expectations.

Had a great meal here! I went with my vegan brother and there were so many excellent options, I went for the vegan ones too! Staff were lovely and welcoming. Had the chocolate fondant for dessert which was one of the best I've ever had.

The beef noodle soup was tasty and well seasoned, with plenty of tender beef. Would have preferred some condiments on the table like chilli oil etc, but not a big deal. Pleasant staff and atmosphere. I had no problem getting a table on Saturday lunchtime.

We ordered Peking toasted duck and savory Japanese Ramen. The flavors were exquisite, and the dining experience was enhanced by the delightful combination of authentic cuisine, warm service, and a charming ambiance. I am thoroughly relishing it and eagerly back again. Already got my hands on a loyalty card!

Extremely disappointed with the cold tiny portions that were delivered. We ordered Korean fried chicken, and i have to say that i know it was from the small eats section, however you just can’t serve that and expect people to be satisfied with it. There was 5 pieces of chicken drizzled with sauce. The quarter crispy duck was stone cold, with no hoisin sauce!! And the egg fried rice was the same colour as plain boiled rice! Just with added egg and a couple spring onions for garnish. Would appreciate

I have been coming here for years now, every time I come newcastle I will go as a little treat. The food is always fresh and extremely flavourful. The staff are extremely attentive yet not intrusive. The location is slightly hidden off the beat and track, but it is close to all possible amenities and is not difficult to find. The restaurant is always full, and wait times to get in are low.

3rd visit to Nudo Noodle House - been on a weekday / Sunday and now a Saturday, all lunchtime visits. NOTE: It does lunch and then closes and opens again for tea/evening. Have also visited the Northumberland Street Sushi / noodle bar at least 3 times and always great service and tasty food. Also cheapest coffee on the go ever. Smaller venue with well spaced tables - staff team welcoming and friendly with great knowledge about the dishes on offer. Menus on table and dishes have a photo accompanying which is a huge help in making choices on things that have not had before. Have tried something different every time have been here and all have been tasty. I enjoy their small dishes particularly the cucumber with garlic, tried the spring onion pancakes which were tasty and great for mopping up sauce. Their noodle bowls are good and some of our party had the crispy beef - which was a huge hit. We even got a hot water top up of our Jasmine / Green and Ginger tea :) Relaxed atmosphere and great service from a friendly team.

Came back again probably one of my favorite places to eat in Newcastle on account of an amazing tokotsu ramen style soup noodles. Having been to Japan this is probably the closest taste wise I can get to what I've eaten over there. Service was quick, staff were super friendly and everything is more than reasonable in terms of price.

Our food arrived 2 hours after we ordered and 90minutes after scheduled time. our delivery driver tried to send us a message but told us the just-eat app was not working we couldn't receive updates of where our delivery driver was it did not update for over 30 minutes it just said "we can not locate your driver" we had to make alternative food as we had a child who needed to go to bed. really unhappy with how long everything took tonight. seems to be a lot of issues with Just-eat internal systems

Good but not great. Asked for a half portion of sashimi as my wife doesn’t like raw fish. They couldn’t accommodate this. I could have salmon and tuna 50 / 50 but not just a half portion of tuna sashimi. Everything else was ok. Sadly won’t return. The punk hairstyle waitress really spoiled our evening.

This is my all time favourite restaurant in Newcastle, for around 10 years now. I always recommend the small plates to share and then we usually share mains too. The food is always the best quality and flavour and the staff are always friendly.

The Green Dragon Roll was amazing. I think it would be better without the mayonnaise on top of the avocado but it wouldn't stop me from ordering again.
